This game is really fun. Highly recommended for anyone who likes dark fantasy and king Arthur stories. Story is very interesting and has a lot of interesting knights to choose from, that you can combine and try them in the battle. I would say it is quite easy on normal difficulty so I would also recommend this for turn based "noobies", if you are new to this genre and want to try some. I'mThis game is really fun. I'm not a pro either and many games from the genre get boring quickly with repetitive gameplay, but not this one. The management system is also quite light, if you don't like management parts in games too much but rather want to get into action as quickly as possible. Expand

This game is fun. Combat system, character progression, recruiting new ones and building your keep is pretty good. It will keep you interested in playing even if game became little bit repetitive after some time.

This game is true masterpiece. Atmosphere of game is very good. You have own castle - Camelot and u can recruit a lot of characters. Battle are turn based and very addictive. Lenght of game is also huge. I hope new dlc come very soon :). For me is game more better than hyped - Baldur Gate III...

A very good game. Dark theme, with many heroes to choose from. Nowdays with all these triple AAA disasters, its very refreshing to see smaller studios producing such good games.
I hope the studio with future updates to give extra content and fix the graphics a little, but until then i have a great time playing it. You should try it yourself.

A great game to play for a few hours at a time. I like the new elements for a turnbased rpg game.

I haven't had this much fun with an RPG since Divinity Original Sin 2.

    Is it perfect? Perhaps not.

    * It is somewhat difficult to keep all your knights equally leveled, so you tend to find some favorites and stick with them rather than experiment and change between battles. Maybe some kind of automatic system could keep the rest of your knights around the same level as you? That way you could experiment more and change knights between battles. You can do it but it takes a bit of management.

    * Partly because of the above many fights do end up looking the same. The enemy types do change but you will find a fighting style which works for your group, and you probably won't change it much. So some battles can get a bit repetitive.

    * The game doesn't really surprise you too much. In x-com you for instance had surprise base attacks where you had to fight for your survival. There are interesting developments along the main story but few curve balls overall.

    * The base building isn't super exciting or hard, it's not like you upgrade your defenses or help the surrounding lands much. It's mostly just get resources and trade them for rooster slots and a few bonuses and features. There aren't many trade-offs, just build sensible things until you can afford everything.

    * The interface isn't perfect, for instance the mini-map doesn't have a north up indicator. But overall the interface isn't as slick, extensive and easy to navigate as some other games. It feels a bit bare bones? Maybe more lore and history etc.

    * It would be nice if the knights' appearance changed with different gear.

    * The gear system is a bit of a mess. there are green, blue and relic items. But then there are also leveled gear with minimum requirement lvl 5, 10 etc. This means that at some point you're probably going to trade your awesome golden relic sword for a measly green one with min lvl 5 requirement. No one likes that. Either wait with introducing relic items until the end-game or, even better, make relic item upgradeable in the smithy.

So overall this is a really awesome game, and a must play for fans of RPG's and turn-based games. But there is also room to make an even better sequel in the future.

A certain repetitiveness in the battle system is broken by the other phase of the game, in which you upgrade your castle and your knights. The game has gone through a lot of delays, but the final product is definitely worth the attention of players of turn-based strategy games and dark fantasy alike. [Issue#319]

King Arthur: Knight’s Tale could easily be considered the definitive King Arthur game and likely among the greatest modern media on the subject, especially since there’s little competition. It’s also a top-notch tactical RPG with an unexpectedly compelling story. The gameplay is solid on all levels, especially if you’re looking for a tactical challenge and love using fancy abilities in battle. My playthrough of King Arthur: Knight’s Tale alone took over 50 hours, so there’s plenty to keep you busy, but you can expect even more bloody adventures to come. The king is dead; long live the (new?) king!

King Arthur: Knight’s Tale is basically XCOM in a fantasy setting with a melee-based combat system. Fans of this TBS subgenre will definitely have a good time. It doesn’t elevate the XCOM formula, but in the end, it doesn’t need to.
