Typhoon Studios has created an indie title that will capture the attention of the masses. On the surface, Journey to the Savage Planet is an attractive title based on the sci-fi and exploration elements, but it’s the humor, gameplay elements and puzzle solving that pulls you in.

The game offers a nice balance of discovery and battles as you find yourself deeper into the strange environments. Sure, the animations and AI can be a bit wonky, but it doesn’t hinder the game’s sense of fun. While the main adventure can take around 10 hours to complete, those who set off the beaten path will get the most out of this very savage planet.

Journey to the Savage Planet is an amazing experience of alien planetary exploration where the developer’s imaginations were allowed to paint a canvas of fun, art style, and humor that never felt forced or over the top. Once you temper expectations and remind yourself that this is a game about exploration and not an alien shoot em’ up or a fully packed RPG, you begin to realize how special this game is. The game offers 2-player co-op online which many titles like this wouldn’t even think twice about.

Funny, fresh, and full of surprises, Typhoon’s debut blends genres expertly. Co-op doesn’t add much, though.

The humor can be an acquired taste for some, but the focus on levity doesn't feel forced and actually enhances the overall experience. The focus on exploration also helps make this a lighthearted jaunt, as the exploration is enjoyable and the combat is light but capable. Combined with the game's classically inspired art design, Journey to the Savage Planet is a title that adventure fans should pay attention to, especially with so many other higher-profile titles getting delayed recently.

A fun and quirky title that combines elements of puzzle platforming, rogue likes, and narrative titles all bundled up into an oddball tin can and fired off past Jupiter. Journey to the Savage Planet is a trip you will want to take.

Journey to the Savage Planet is one of those rare times that a game is both fun and also funny. It’s a short, fast-paced adventure through alien terrain that will have you chuckling throughout and is full of charm and wonder. It might be a little short for some, and a little easy for others, but the ability to go back through the levels to collect every last item could easily double your time with the game. This is one journey you’re going to want to go on, and the ability to do so with a friend just makes it all the more enticing.

Journey To The Savage Planet is a short, sweet and near perfectly crafted puzzle platformer with a refreshing and satisfying take on co-op progression. Those who love to explore, climb into, under and on top of everything to find hidden areas in the games they play are in for a treat with this one.

If you can't wait for Metroid Prime 4, Savage Planet is a modernized version of that series that will scratch the itch. I wish it was longer, deeper, had more tools, more weapons, and more upgrades, but it's hardly a criticism of the game to say I wanted more of it.

Journey to the Savage Planet is a smaller, happier version of what No Man's Sky should have been at launch. Filled with things to find, trials to survive and, most importantly, genuine personality.

Journey to the Savage Planet doesn't as savage or wild as I thought, actually the style is a little bit weird and funny. Of course, it's not perfect but at the end of the day, I enjoy spending time on the Planet especially with my friends.

Journey to the Savage Planet feels a lot like Subnautica and No Man's Sky, but with its own twist. The exploration is good and the level-design is pretty good, even if the Humor is kinda special. Definitely a game that's worth its price.

Journey to the Savage Planet wants to take you to an alien planet for an adventure based on exploration. But the further I went into the planet, the more I felt that my movements were too guided.

With its highs and lows, this light-hearted adventure remains generally pleasurable and highly relaxing. Although it turned out to be brief and very casual, I am hoping that there will be more content for Journey to the Savage Planet in the future.

Unfortunately, flaws such as uninspired combat, lack of enemy variety, and a fairly short campaign mar what could've been a truly unforgettable journey.

If resource gathering, crafting and exploration are the keywords of your adventure on the planet AR-Y26, it's your fun and wacky experience that will stand out. In short, there's never a dull moment, whether it's thanks to the sound atmosphere or to your robot, which never stops making jokes in a sarcastic tone. If you want to fully explore this new world, discover the mysteries surrounding intelligent alien life or simply collect resources to repair your ship, the adventure is even better in co-op.
