It feels almost clunky and unresponsive and for my taste, it's to much team play oriented which is bad in several ways: you feel less impactful, playing solo can be extremely frustrating (way more than in LoL or Dota) and shared experience is just plain stupid idea,

Game has also several technical issues, like unstable fps with even significant drops, issues with reconnect after getting DC.

Even games has sever different maps to play, witch different objectives it feels all games are the same, objective after objective - there's not much freedom and strategy involved, it's basically all about how well you cooperate with teammates, and falling behind is more common point of no return than in other MOBAs, because you can't carry weaker players and loosing few objectives gives enemy team insane power spike. One more thing, being heavily objective based game falls short on direct pvp (both duels and team fights), which takes most of this gaming genre's fun away.

If you are not a big fan of blizzard and their lore or you are not super casual, you might have hard time enjoying this game. Tbh, I can't find anything really positive and good to say about this game.

HoTS is decent. I've played through several games, and I am left pretty unimpressed. I liked the idea of sharing xp among the team to prevent people from being selfish, but that's about where the good diffferences from other MOBAs end for me. The rest is just oversimplified to the point where it takes a lot of the thought and skill out of playing.

Blizzard made their best to make this game "easy to enter, hard to master". And it's actually working.
I was playing hots from the alfa-test and I can say that Blizzard 've done a big step ahead of their main MOBA rivals.
Now it is only a matter of time to evolve the game and make it a moba masterpiece.

I played many MOBAS and i am even platinum ranked in League of Legends and i can easily say that this is the best game of this genre without any doubt.

The simplicity is there but with a lot of strategical choices with talents, and the balance is amazing since items are not a factor. The maps are really fun and make use of teamwork like no other moba out there and each map can be dealt with in a huge number of ways.

The learning curve is low, because in 15 games you already played all maps enough to know what you should do, but the skill cap is very high and a new player is easily distinguished from a experienced one. The talent sistem is sublime and well crafted and it will make you consider every choice because every talent has a lot of impact on how your hero will work.

However it also comes with its problems. The framerate is unstable even if you have an excelent computer and it wont simply stay at 60 the whole time much like Starcraft 2 which uses the same engine, this problem usually happens with vsync on which me and many others need to use to avoid screen tearing in our 60hz monitors. Also some people are toxic, you shouldnt expect anything less its the internet and this is a moba, although ill say is not half as toxic as the LoL or Dota2 comunity.

Wraping it up, if you are into mobas this is the most fun you will have in 30 minutes, with a ton of heroes from blizzards carefully crafted universes, fun map objectives that will make you think out of the box and a lot of stuff to improve yourself on, this is not just blizzards trying to make an impact on this genre, this is blizzard showing once again why they are such a dominant name in the gaming world by creating another genre defining masterpiece that mixes their universes into one game that will make you go back to play it over and over again.

Gameplay, graphics and audio are ok, but unfortunately the game lacks of strategy and fun as consequence. But Blizzard is in a good direction trying to make the game a little bit different from the other MOBAs.

I entered in the closed beta and I STILL can't play a full game without my game dropping to 1fps halfway into the match, blaming it on "connection problems" when I'm playing in my region with decent internet. Also, it's the only game that does this. I can play Dota, League and HoN just fine but not this piece of **** Unplayable.

Lazy developpers ruined what could have been the best MOBA in a decade. Instead, we get a very solid and fun MOBA. Enjoy it. But never forget the developpers ignored every feedback from players to improve the game.

HoTS is a decent game that promotes teamwork very heavily. The "mini-game" objectives get a little tiring considering how heavily some players demand they be completed, but I wouldn't say they necessarily detract from the game.

This really is like a version of LOL or DOTA for kids though. It's much more forgiving given that there are many ways to regenerate life and the skills have fairly quick cooldowns for the most part, making a misfire unlikely to be a terminal mistake. Unfortunately, this also comes with the drawback that your characters don't ever really feel as unique to you as they do in other MOBAs. The talents really add very little to how the character ultimately plays and a lack of items means they will only ever fit a very specific role on the team.

That said, there is a very nice variety to the skills the characters possess and they do give them a lot of unique feel between them. This ultimately makes for a nice variety of play styles that you can switch easily between.

A big plus is the fact that, so far, the community is also much less toxic than other MOBAs. Maybe this is just because the game is still young, but typically your team remains silent just using pings rather than berating everyone on the team for bringing them down.

TLDR: A fun game with good potential if they can keep it up, but it won't unseat the existing giants, much like nothing could ever unseat WOW as the prime MMO.

The only down side to the game right now is that you run into someone who just gives up really early in the match. I hope as people get to the play the game more, they realize how it is possible to mount a comeback. The game is designed so a comeback is possible. Grab your friends try this game out, it will be worth it.

The heroes are expensive in gold and real money but I don't really care. I'm going to play this game a few times a day and I'm in it for the long run.

An insanely fun game! It's more casual than LoL/Dota, but it's a good thing because 15-20mins long games are not as stressful. If you want something with great, more casual (in a good way!) gameplay and lots of iconic Blizzard Heroes - this game is a way to go!

I've had a moderate experience with MOBAs going way back to the WarCraft 3 days of DotA. While not disliking the genre, I've never been that hooked to any particular game. I've played a bit Dota 2 and done some games in LoL with some friends from time to time, yet I always felt there were problems with each game that stopped me from loving them.

That being said, I have had a quite positive experience with Heroes of the Storm since I got into Alpha back in December. While it may be lacking a bit in some features and there are problems with things like matchmaking, the ladder system, and the reconnect-to-game system, there is no doubt to me that the game's core gameplay is plain solid.

The variety of maps, the talent system, the focus on objectives, and shared team experience really make for a unique gameplay experience that differs from the rest of the genre, which to me is the main selling point for this game. It is a MOBA, but it is neither like Dota or LoL. The games are shorter, but has a lot of action. An average game can last 20 minutes, which makes it great to play in short spurts when you don't have a lot of time, and it is my favourite thing about the game. It's refreshing not having 1 hour matches after experiencing those in Dota and LoL, so to me this is a great boon to the HotS.

The monetization system is very much like how League of Legends does it; selling Heroes, skins, and other cosmetic stuff. You can still play the game completely free by just completing the daily quests and get gold from levelling up your Heroes. You also get a decent choice of "free" Heroes every week that you can try out and see if you like them, so you will not be very short on Heroes. As for the ladder system, the main requirement is 10 Heroes to enter, but there are enough cheap Heroes in the game to be able to meet that requirement, so if you are eager to jump into the competitive scene, it will not need to take a very long time (unless you only get the most expensive ones).

If you aren't a huge fan of other MOBAs, then perhaps Heroes of the Storm might change your mind about the genre. It may look like a very simple game, but there is more to it than meets the eye. There is skill involved and tactical gameplay and teamwork will be highly beneficial. Try the game out right now. After all, it's free! ^^

Let me start by saying I don't like MOBA's. Even from the SC mod and the DOTA mod. I don't mind them but just didn't find them fun... So when I got Beta to HOTS in January I was sceptical when I tried it, largely due to the LOL and DOTA2 fans biased views.

Boy am I glad I tried it!! I wouldn't say its the best game since sliced bread but it is A LOT of fun! And to me that's the most

Anyone who says this game is a baby version of LoL or Dota is just a butthurt cringe master. Do your research and/or play the game and you'll realize this game focuses more on team execution and character skill as opposed to who did more research on what items to buy and where to put your attributes. I find this game punishes kids with less skill due to its dependency on pure combat.

In Heroes of the Storm you play as one of Blizzard's iconic characters from Warcraft, Starcraft and Diablo. At first glance the game looks like a typical 5 vs 5 MOBA, but there are changes that differentiate it from its competitors. The matches are shorter, items have been replaced with talents and all maps have different side objectives. Overall, the changes have made the game more intense and varied. The main thing that I have issues with is the payment model. At first it seems fair and reasonable, but after a while you realize that you have to spend tons of money if you want to unlock all the characters or play the game for a long time. [Sept 2015]
