Along with the return of planes, bikes, tattoos and leveling the stats of your character. Too bad because otherwise the scale of the game is huge and the world is very thought-out and detailed. Well optimized in comparison to IV. Looks awesome too. Until there is a mod that brings back IV's physics, this is a no-go. Expand

I've played the Xbox 360 version as well as the PC version and I admit. PC visuals are amazing, Smoother gameplay and interesting mods for the PC version has definitely impressed me.

But why a 6 out of 10? Because this game isn't that great to begin with. With all the content in this game the main complaint I have with this game is the main story from the offline mode. It really took a downhill turn coming from GTA 4, The characters are lacking development, especially Franklin, Franklin is really undeveloped which made his character sound/look like CJ in GTA san andreas, micheal and trevor are the same. Under developed characters which in the end you don't care about anymore. Story is stupid as well because it looks like they really dumbed it down so that the younger audiences would understand the story better.

Another complaint I have is lack of content... I remember they announced GTA V a long time ago and it was advertised like it was going to be big. So I was expecting San andreas big. (San andreas keep in mind had the most content out of every single GTA game out there.) But I was disappointed, the content it lacked after finishing the missions and all the side missions makes you bored of offline mode really fast.

But online mode is great, tons of contents and heists, too. The online mode is at least 10 times better than single mode which made me skip story mode for GTA V on Pc. But the GTA V online community is a joke and filled with immature people which makes me spend most of my time playing GTA V alone.

I would recommend getting this game if you are playing for the online, but skip the single player mode.. it's not worth playing.

The Story is awesome. Rockstar has put so much detail in the world and graphics are great. Online on the other hand is mediocre. For a short time it makes ton of fun. But after the heists and some random carnage it gets extremely boring, there is just not much left to do. - plus you get some dates with one of those many hackers

If you're not in a match you're just traveling around the world which as i stated before loses its novelty after awhile as its just filled with overpowered idiots just going around killing low players, or empty lobbies. It may seem like I hate it, but it is fun. Not as good as san andreas as it feels like there's less, but its still has the grand theft auto replay ability. IE shooting cops, flying planes, robbing stores, killing hookers, and now you can do it with friends. Expand

this is the most overrated video game of all time, no debate.

there is no way in hell that this game is god's greatest gift to earth like all of the critics have been saying when it was released. this game has some of the most boring missions in the series. doing yoga, moving containers at a dock, wtf. and even the missions that are kind of fun are too linear; they lack the freedom

this game has some of the most boring missions in the series. doing yoga, moving containers at a dock, wtf. and even the missions that are kind of fun are too linear; they lack the freedom of approach that an open world game like GTA should have.

the story is trash. the only characters that were kind of interesting are michael, lester, and maybe a few others. the rest of the characters are either underdeveloped (like franklin), or just plain annoying (michael's family, trevor). many returning HD era characters are completely thrown under the bus.

this game has taken sooooo many steps backwards from GTA IV, with the ragdoll physics, shooting, driving, police AI, civilian AI, melee combat, vehicle destruction, interiors, multiplayer, game world, and other aspects. it irritates me how mainstreams critics will mindlessly give this game a 10/10 while completely ignoring how all of these core gameplay mechanics have been downgraded. i guess a huge map with pretty graphics is more than enough to impress these brainless hacks.

"b-but GTA V has parachutes, planes, tanks, business management, and a countryside!" yeah, so did GTA san andreas. guess what? many of these features have been done better in san andreas anyway.

don't get me wrong, this game is still highly polished, beautiful, and smooth to play. first person mode is a welcome addition to next-gen. and there is still fun to be had in the main campaign. but the campaign is worth playing only once and never returning to again. it's designed to be consumed once.

my brain gives this game a 7/10, but my heart gives it a 3/10. therefore, i will rate this game a 6/10.

The game is great in a lot of things for sure, specially in the personality of the characters, but come on, i was expecting such a big deal from the final mission where you kill Trevor and i don't see how it could be more lame.
Franklin with the gun hidden on his back and that LOT of non sense talking before shooting already didn't made any sense and then he simply lets Trevor get back in

Franklin with the gun hidden on his back and that LOT of non sense talking before shooting already didn't made any sense and then he simply lets Trevor get back in the car? Just to start chasing him? Trevor didn't even had a gun in his car?
And why would he call Michael first if he was going to do it anyways? Franklin himself says that Trevor is Michael's best friend and all, so wouldn't he think that Michael may not like the idea of he killing Trevor?
Michael could just call Trevor and warn him up about it.
I also think it should be more realistic in a lot of things, for example in that mission of hijacking the blitz with the masks on that you have to kill like all the police officers of the city, you just keep killing until they are all done and stop coming, then you just go away like nothing happened hahahaha

Online mode is awful. It's infested with hackers who spawn things on top of you to cause you grief. Nice cars cost a ludicrous amount of money too, in comparison to the amount of money you earn doing missions. It's tailored this way in hopes you purchase, with real money, 'shark cards' - in game money. If all you're going to be doing is missions for fun with a friend - not caring about obtaining nice vehicles, and play in private lobbies, then it could be fun for you.

Overall I would say it's worth picking up for the story mode, but only do so when it is on sale.

    Pros:
    - great open world with attention to detail
    - great vehicles, cars, motorcycles, planes, choppers, boats, with plenty of customization options
    - great storyline, engaging
    - great cinematics with cutout scenes, and a great script and voiceover actors
    - great real estate in-game "owning" and managing options, unlike many other games out there
    - Cayo Perico heist, is the best thing that happened to GTA Online in years and years, maybe to compensate for endless complaints and feedback from the community, a sincere thank you to Rockstar and Take-Two for that

    Cons:
    - the rewards vs. effort ratio is extremely low, unbalanced, to subtle lead to microtransactions for shark cards for real money currency in GTA Online
    - the game difficulty is extremely hard, with little to no option to adjust it to fit our own preferences as users-players, in many other games, we can adjust the difficulty we feel comfortable with, well be prepared, NOT in GTA V, like it or not, you're gonna swallow at hard levels and have less fun, but more frustration
    - the NPCs AI enemies - police, gang members, etc. - are overly powerful and often are cheating the human player the protagonist, spawning almost interminably all over, just to slow down and block your progress
    - extremely hard to make in-game money currency in GTA online, especially to allow you, the player, to have fun and enjoy the options you have available around you, to afford the cars, the bikes, the planes, the military vehicles, the real estate, the high-rated weapons, or whatever else your heart desires
    - for GTA online, heists preps and setups are extremely hard, especially solo, exactly to push the player to spend real money and to eventually team-up with so-called friends, that one may - or may not - have
    - except for the Cayo Perico heist, all the other heists and business activities (supplies, sales, etc.) are pushing the player the way not to enjoy a solo play mode, but to team up with random friends that could be very well some of the same players that killed you, or you killed 2 days or 2 weeks, or 2 years ago
    - sometimes is allowing, even pushing the game style to a battle royale arena, like last man standing PvP action, when in fact it's not about that, by promoting the killer ratio, or stealing from other players and such griefing tactics, like encouraging raiding and bullying other players
    - allowing kids and teens under 18 y/o to play an M- Mature-rated - game, leading to griefing and childish immature behavior among some players, spoiling the fun for all the rest around
    - not fighting cheaters hard enough

yet, it is one of the best open-world games out there, complex and intricate enough to deserve attention, but not good enough to deserve a full 10 score rating

There was suppose to be more to it but Online Mode earns them more money so obviously they go for the route that earns their wallet fat .

Problem is , GTA has always been a focus on stories .
It is accepted in this day and age to pay big amounts of money to obtain something virtually expensive and rare even .

Online Mode shouldn't have been the focus but Rockstar knows where the money comes from so Singleplayer will rot and grow dust while till till this day as Online Mode becomes bigger .
Online Mode is fun but it doesn't fit into the world of GTA .

GTA is suppose to be a memorable story . An immersive single player world .

Aside from that , Rockstar took YEARS to patch their long loading screens . Only to fix it when a modder attempted to decrease the time it took to load .
The very basic loading screen wasn't fixed but Rockstar still pumped out new updates for Online Mode is a testimony for how Singleplayer gaming is dying .

Rockstar thought it was a good idea putting A LOT more effort and work into Online Mode than Story Mode .

Online Mode is fun and all but simply put it is Pay To Win and if you don't pay , you will grind .

6 Stars at least because they have Story Mode which is decent .
Story mode is not fun or entertaining . In fact it is 'ok.' It isn't bad but it isn't that great either .
The start of the story is interesting but ends up being an uninteresting sluggish game .
For a game that you have to download 90+ GBs it is overated in a sense .

Could have and should have been a focus on purely Story Mode .
Should have got the updates for Singleplayer Mode and the DLCs and etc .
Could have been 9 stars easily if this was more of a focus on Singleplayer .
And at least had a more amazing and memorable story .
Online Mode is pay to win . Many people do talk about how toxic it is . Well , that is expected and it isn't something Rockstar can do much about . That is just how humans are at times it seems .
But really it is ridiculous how they have shark cards where you can buy your way through the game .

That is not to say that Online Mode is bad , it is fun with friends and all but Rockstar overdid it and left behind what made GTA .

And remember DONT GRIND it isnt worth it its just a game.
The only way Rockstar can fix this game is if they raise the payment ATLEAST at 5 times more.

missions : they are a mixed bag... some missions are super cool like some heist missions but there are some ****ty ones , and here is where the fun's end, THESE MISSIONS ARE INCRDIBLY LINIAR every time i leave a vehicle even if it serve's nothing to the mission's story, the game wants you to move inch perfect and that is annoying and makes the Experience allot less fun

Story : okay its not that good of a story and it feels some what pointless (Or maybe i didn't just get it) i don't know if the story is about Michael & franklin & Trevor or Michael & the FIB its just too busy with allot of things and that makes it too weak when something happens

characters : for me the characters did it for me Michael is selfish, too angry and Franklin is selfless , looking for change and Trevor is Trevor , the side characters are good and the Villains are ****

Conclusion : its a fun game don't get me wrong but i think its not worth full price in my book... buy it if its on sale

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Let me write a honest review about this game. This game can't get more than 6 score, they just got it because that's a revolutionary game in technicals things. I was growed up in 2013 and I remember how GTA V affect all people. I was one of the first buyers of this game, and I play it as an great fan from GTA series. Those graphics, those mechanics, those reality in modern Los Santos were so great and sh**, but the story is horrible, as every GTA game.

For real, we can't sit down here and say "wow this game have a huge and solid story" man, wtf, this game have an annoying story, following all GTA games with non sense stories. Three guys with none in common, Trevor forcing an brutal behavior; in one scene they all are friends talking about their lives and in the other scene they're with RPGs killing all the city and robbing banks. The thing go from 0 to 100 mph too fast (the story, from calm to breaking the walls in seconds), and it's **** even if GTA series is based on that.

And GTA Online is sh**, you already know, I played this thing in 2013-2014 and not even more because it's non sense, more than the story. Copy RDR2 in the next.

The story was very confusing for a long time. I could rarely get into the characters and the ending was told very quickly and unspectacularly. The missions that were really good were really good, but most of the time I found them boring. All in all, I expected more.

Grand Theft Auto V is in many ways the archetypical example of the modern open-world game. A huge environment to drive around in and get lost in, containing a few small towns, a big city, random scripted events going off every once in a while, and above all else, little icons on a map that you go to in order to make things happen.

Clocking in around 40 hours to beat and about 55 hours
Grand Theft Auto V is in many ways the archetypical example of the modern open-world game. A huge environment to drive around in and get lost in, containing a few small towns, a big city, random scripted events going off every once in a while, and above all else, little icons on a map that you go to in order to make things happen.

Clocking in around 40 hours to beat and about 55 hours to do everything but collect the collectibles, the game offers a mixture of third person shooting, driving cars and aircraft, and the odd minigame. The story is a story of three criminals who all simultaneously respect and hate each other, and who are all various flavors of terrible people.

The game has thrilling heists, where the player figures out some plan of attack (from one of two options), does things to set up for that, and then executes on the plan, while switching dynamically between the characters to execute on their part of the plan. This is where the game is at its best.

And if the game was always that good, it would be great.

    Unfortunately, it isn’t.

The game is also full of very boring missions, tedious side content, and inconvenience. The lack of a normal fast travel system means that if you need to go from one side of the map to the other, it will consume several minutes of your time, the simulationist nature of the game means that changing your characters’ clothing requires you to go to their house (or a store, if they sell that particular type of clothing there), and there’s a lot of empty time that is filled up by driving from one place to another.

GTA V does its best to avoid too much blatant filler content – there’s only a few of the typical “collect 50 of this random item scattered around the world” missions, and they’re purely optional.

But a lot of the content in the game is just dull. Running around in the desert for five miles, doing a half-hour long triathlon where all you do is tap A repeatedly to run/swim/bike faster, spending twenty minutes loading and offloading cargo – there is many a dull moment in the game, where the game just has you do something inane for no good reason for far too long.

But even the “good” missions are often held back by the gameplay. The core gameplay of driving around in cars is alright, but the helicopters feel rather janky to fly and the plane missions are something of a mixed bag, as there’s no real air to air combat system. The third person shooting gameplay is quite weak – it feels awkward, and while using a mouse plus keyboard makes it better, the game just doesn’t do anything very strong with the third person gameplay. The enemies are almost all indistinguishable from each other, just being a bunch of dudes with guns, or dudes with guns in cars/planes. Tanks technically exist, but I saw them in exactly one mission – and a side-mission at that – and they were easily dispatched with explosives.

The open world also tries to introduce things like property ownership, but the properties feel like more of a burden than an asset – several will ask the player to do repetitive side quests from a very small list, and the only one that really felt like it was worth purchasing was the one that let you customize your cars for free. Indeed, given the limited duration of the game, it was a losing proposition to buy property, as you’d have more money by the end of the game if you didn’t – the best way to make money was to do the stock market manipulation missions.

The game does try to entertain people with the story. And on some level, this actually works pretty well – the characters almost always have stuff to say, with the “boring bits” of driving long distances allowing for exposition dumps and back and forth dialogue. There’s story content in almost every mission, and the characters have something to say about almost everything that happens.

The problem is that the characters themselves aren’t particularly likeable, and the story as a whole doesn’t ultimately go anywhere. Michael is a jerk with anger problems. Franklin wants to get rich and escape from the hood. Trevor is a violent sociopath who wants to just keep on running his meth empire. There’s tension between Michael and Trevor due to Trevor believing that Michael betrayed him years before, and Michael is trying to mentor Franklin a bit.

But none of it really feels like it has strong enough payoff, and the characters don’t feel like they ultimately learned anything. Franklin never gets to run a heist, so he never really emerges from Michael’s shadow. Michael still has anger issues, and his family’s resolution is basically “We’re all a bunch of **** so we’re pretty much stuck together,” and somehow, this makes them happy. And Trevor… is just doing the same thing he was doing beforehand, and learned absolutely nothing, except he ultimately makes peace with Michael by murdering a third party that they both loathe.

The story feels lackluster. The characters each have their own story when there is almost no point. On top of this I cant really get into any of the players story line. Multiplayer is chock full of bad matchmaking and incredibly poorly designed game modes. This gets an average rating from me as its just not good, its not terrible, but it lacks every quality to be fantastic.

One of the things I really liked about San Andreas was the light hearted humour without being too brash, but still daring enough to be funny, where as GTA V is filled with characters and scenarios that are just plain depressing. Franklin is just a boring CJ 2.0 and Trevor has apparently been directly lifted from Kane & Lynch, not hard to figure out which one. You can call me cynical if you like, but for a game made in 2013, or even by Rockstar's own lofty standards, it is a pretty weak attempt of a game, sorely lacking in true innovation or particularly clever writing...it is just a lazy piece of software that depended on selling in droves purely by names sake.

    I still love GTA3-San Andreas

The main story is great, but the game has had it's performance destroyed with recent updates for some reason. I've also encountered several glitches that have wiped my garages and bank accounts in both SP and MP modes, which was extremely frustrating . Also, the online is so full of hackers and griefers that it's really not fun to play, even with friends.

As someone who played GTA games since GTA 3, GTA V feels like a massive step back from GTA San Andreas and even a small step back from GTA 4. Having three separate characters that you will have to earn money for, upgrade and utilize to level up their skills feels tedious. What's wrong with just having a single character? It worked so well before, didn't it? Instead, I have to buy business separately for them, upgrade their cars separately and make money and trade stocks separately for the characters. Gone are the days when I can focus all in just one character and buy numerous stuff for a single character. now I have to do everything 3 times! Also, how come I can buy many business but cannot buy different houses for my characters? They only have the story-given houses and that is it. Also, I can no longer have girlfriends. I also can no longer do gyms or other activities like San Andres. It's very bad. Now with GTA Casino, we also have in-game gambling with fake money that you purchase with real world money. It's stupid and terrible. The console menus are also bad and the flying and swimming controls are very unintuitive. The Rockstar Games Social Club, which is a DRM, is also very bad and gets sync errors all the time. I don't like these things to be in my GTA. It's a disaster compared to San Andreas.

GTA used to be game where you can fulfill your power fantasies in a parody version of our modern day society. You can kill people like crazy, ram them like hell, fly on jetpacks, run around with **** and gimp suits, pick up your girlfriends for a date in a ruined blood-stained car and even go on a rampage while you are with your girlfriend. The radio stations were also fun and vulgar in previous GTA games. We also had racist gangs and turf wars back in San Andreas, which was really fun. All of these things have been removed and replaced with SJW and PC-culture, niceness and way less violence compared to previous GTA games. Lazlow used to be funny and now he is a washout. The talk radio stations are also boring, full of SJW guests, PC and fail at being funny. You can't have PC culture and comedy in the same space as they go against each other. I remember watching the sunset while inside a parked car in GTA San Andres while listening to the radio. Those were the days.

As for the characters, instead of doing crazy things, Michael now has to take care of his family (which screws him over repeatedly). His family is so annoying and full of retards and narcissists that the game should allow me to kill them for being such. I know that previous GTA games would. Trevor is the only fun character, which is the redneck stereotype, but his craziness can be annoying sometimes and he changes into women clothes all the time on his own. Franklin was trying hard to be CJ from San Andreas, but he falls flat because of poor story and writing. I'd almost think he was the diversity hire if he didn't have skills.

The gameplay is good and the bugs are minimal. Driving is fun and there are lots of cars, but you have to buy the best ones with in-game cash. The graphics are also very good but has issues with ultra widescreen PCs, which is bad. I got this game on a sale, so it's not much damage.

People who rate this game a 10/10 clearly have no idea how far we have regressed from GTA San Andreas, or simply weren't paying attention. They seriously lower the bar for future GTA games. I don't think I'll be buying the next GTA game anymore, simply because I am sure it will be a microtransaction-filled mess with poor writing, disappointing comedy and less features and fun activities compared to even this game.

Consequently, the single player campaign is appealing on the level of infantile humour and reassuringly un-challenging characterisation.

The game has been well ported from the consoles. The graphics look great and it runs well on most mid-range systems. The keyboard and mouse controls are clunky. Driving, flying and just moving in general are significantly better with a controller (which is well supported) but shooting with a mouse is profoundly easier. Consequently, you're better off chopping and changing between both control systems, which isn't ideal.

The game takes the better part of 10 minutes to initially load on my system (i7, 16gb RAM, AMD 7970), which is fine if you're playing single player, as there is little to no loading during gameplay. However, GTA Online seems to have a new loading screen every other minute.

GTA Online has its usual shenanigans which can eat up an hour or two if you're playing with friends. Playing with random players is pointless as more often than not they'll run you over half way through a mission 'for teh lulz'. On that note, turning off voice chat is recommended. And this is where the game really falls down. If you don't have at least 4 friends online to play with, then you're forced to play with randoms (Heists, for example, don't have a single player option and very few missions do, too). Hence, the Heists experience is 50% being trolled, 45% being frustrated and 5% shutting down GTA.

Unless you have a bunch of friends to play with at all times, or you really, really love the GTA franchise or you just like trolling people - I wouldn't recommend GTA V.

I regret buying it at all, tbh.

Bully remains my favorite game from them because it's actually unique and entertaining. I could care less about how good their obnoxious graphics look, I want a game with a captivating story & good performance. Rockstar constantly sends out updates through Steam which only seems to make gameplay worse. It was very playable when it first came out, now it's very choppy and everything looks as if its running in slow motion. The game also has this high maintenance launcher that is separate from the actual game that hogs memory while you play in the background. Closing their launcher causes the game to randomly crash within 20 minutes. You can not play the game without a Rockstar account either and the game is constantly connected to the internet. You would think a huge game (over 60 GB) like this wouldn't need to rely on internet so much. Speaking of online, GTA V's online mode is infected with numerous cheaters using mods and other hacks to ruin the experience for you and Rockstar won't even address it. I have no idea what these almost daily updates are doing because if anything they are downgrading the game. Rockstar actually wants you to buy fake in game money to use online called shark cards on top of its outrageous $60 price tag. They even tried to scam customers on Steam during the summer sale with these shark cards to disguise that their sale wasn't really a sale. This game is definitely not worth it, I would have gotten a refund if I didn't respect this company for it's better titles like Bully, GTA San Andreas, or Red Dead Redemption. I don't plan on buying anymore games from this company any longer except maybe a sequel to Bully or RDR. This is the score they deserve for their slacking. They're lucky I didn't give them a 0. This game is only good to fanboys and graphic whores. Expand

Not sure what all the fuss is about. The story is practically non-existent, the graphics and controls are dated for the time in which it was released, and it is a far cry from previous entries in the series. The only redeeming factor for me was the online which was excellent.

One simple thing they might have forgot, or perhaps overlooked. I mean, it's really easy to miss it. If only the game worked. I don't mean it doesn't start, or that it crashed. I log onto their fancy little servers, promised with servers up to 30 players, all this action and competitive multiplayer, great free roaming, and moments with friends. Well, they missed all of that by a long shot.
If by chance I do get in a server with a friend after trying for over fifteen minuets, I might be able to do something on occasion like rob a store or chase some guy that's... hacking. Like, they don't moderate the game in anyway. The only thing they do, is if you report someone that cheated to get additional money, they'll ban them for a little while. If there is a guy spawn camping you for thirty minuets, the devs don't care at all. Not to mention the server lag, which at this point it's humorously terrible. Actually it's not even funny. Did I mention the servers close randomly and that I may have only seen a 30 player server once in my 80 hours online? I mean, those are just the hours I spent in GTA Online. They are a lot of hours because I hoped by the 80th, the game would work. I own this game for the PS3, PS4, and the PC, and not one version does this thing work. It's almost as if they completely forgot to put the game, into the game.
Of course there is the single player. It's good, I mean, if the giant rain cloud behind it (the multiplayer) wasn't casting a grand shadow of poop on it, I would talk about it a lot more. In fact, I don't even have anything to complain about the single player, but that's not what I spent 80 hours doing on PC. I only spent an additional 20-30 hours on the single player, but that's nothing compared to the 100+ of hours that I spent on the multiplayer throughout all the versions of the game.
This game scared me, truly. I hated every minuet of it.

The ones who want story content, and not to mix in with real world players instead of fun fictitious characters. I hope later Grand Theft Auto's have offline DLC, but until that DLC comes out, I'll be refraining from buying their games, and encouraging them to make content I'm not interested in.

The score of 5 is justified by how much fun I had playing the game, but compared to GTA 4, Fallout 3 and New Vegas, it's 'life span' is 2 or 3 story play throughs. I played GTA 4 unto 5 years after its release. Fallout 3 and Vegas i was playing up until fallout 4's release. But GTA V has been gathering dust since I completed the story. As I know nothing will be added, so what is left to look forward to? If you're like me and feel online gaming is full of negative and abusive users then GTA is not going to be the franchise for you much longer. Rockstar either need to make it clear that no offline DLC is coming for games when they're released.

I have started the series with the original game back in the day, playing for days with my friend. GTA 2 followed, providing a more focused and polished experience. GTA 3 (along with Vice City and San Andreas) brought Rockstar Games into a new territory, making them one of the biggest video game publishers in the world. GTA 4 (similar to GTA 3) was one of the best-looking games when it came out and introduced arguably the best story and most well-developed characters in any GTA.

I jumped into the GTA V bandwagon with the Epic giveaway and based on all the “perfect scores” by the so-called game critics I was hyped. Unfortunately, this was the first GTA that disappointed me.

Technically speaking, the game is perfect. It looks and sounds stunning and is quite bug free for such a large-scale game. Overlapping narrative is a brilliant idea and for the most part, implemented well. But it is hard to form that special connection with GTA V. Gameplay is way too scripted, indoor locations that can be explored are almost non-existent and dates with girlfriends are taken out. GTA V is also full of juvenile (and not very clever) jokes; characters are quite forgettable (except maybe Trevor), especially in comparison to Niko Bellic. Michael and Franklin are both interesting characters but they had the potential to be developed much more. Trevor, on the other hand, is unforgettable. He is the “hell walking on earth”, but the problem with Trevor is that he goes to extremes in so many different ways that he just feels artificial. Also, he is responsible for 90% of the juvenile humor. I am not talking about political correctness here, a character can be the opposite of politically correct but still funny, if done smartly. Trevor is not that character.

The single-player experience for me was just a dumbed down GTA IV. If this is your first GTA, you may nevertheless still love it.

After beating the campaign, I dived right into GTA Online, one of the most popular online games. You start in a casino, with a long cutscene showing off different parts of the casino. This would have not bothered me if you cannot purchase in-game cash. GTA V has one of the most exploitative transactions in the history of video games. Rockstar Games took greed to a level that all lootboxes in any game feel innocent in comparison. Whether or not a good game is hidden behind that wall of exploitative game mechanics, I do not know. I felt utterly disgusted and logged off…

    Multiplayer: 1/10

Simply realism at its paroxysm. At such a high point that it could be a simulator. Graphics are a true prowess for a 2015 game. The world all around your character is awesome, huge and with varied environments. It feels real and alive. Physics are great, driving feels cool and accurate. The fact that you can play as first person is incredible and really adds to the overall immersion. Customization is more than abundant.

However, IA can suck sometimes. NPC's behaviors are just unpredictable. We can see that this game was developped by people living in America because all oozes this culture: people are armed, advertising is everywhere and outrageous, everything is buyable, each one is defined by the amount of money he or she owns.

Storytelling and voice acting makes it worse. I couldn't believe my eyes and ears while playing: there really is no character that is not over-stereotyped. Each and everyone is a enormous cliché of the group to which he or she could belong. And each and everyone is getting is own shot! This game compiles hate against canadians, women, spoiled kids, black, chinese, poor and drug-addicted people to only cite them. I would say that in overall women are the ones who take the hardest shots. I couldn't find any decent female character in the whole game and story mode.

Missions take so much time to load that you need to plan something to do on the side in addition to the game to kill time. These missions are so repetitive that I am sure you may have brain damage if you play it too much. Kill this guy, spy this one, go from here to there, protect this poor little lady,... Hopefully story mode is really entertaining since some missions are iconic and ultimately badass.

Controls especially with planes and helicopters are awful. I used to play this game with mouse and keyboard everytime but when it come to mastering planes and choppers this game becomes a total mess.

I said it, map is huge. But it becomes an unvoidable flaw when you realize three quarters of it is an impractical desert. Driving into it is one of the worst thing you will have to do in order to complete missions. Some rocks and other things on the way are impossible to dodge if you take more speed than expected. The relief of the map is horrible: you often face a strong ascent impossible to climb.

The fact that we follow three different characters is awesome. Superpowers these three characters possess are cool to master and add a bit of diversity in the gameplay but how can you serioulsy explain their existence in such a realistic world? Did the developpers just give us a tiny taste of what could be GTA with a fantasy touch?

Guns soundeffects are terrible. It is just basic 'pow-pow' and 'blam-blam' awful noises. Guns are a pain in the neck to control and use, especially with this auto-aim system. Aiming at an opponent already is difficult enough not to add dozens of ennemies in front of you during missions.

Online mode is a total disgrace to my eyes. It takes years to launch a game full of cheaters and haters. People are not ashamed to bully each other again and again with weapons you simply can't counter. Once again this game works like America: the more money you put into it the stronger you become and the more benefits you obtain. Connecting and finding your friends online is really hard. You have to use this disgusting Rockstar platform to see them ingame. I still have to admit that daily challenges are funny, inspired and entertaining.

    5. very little interactive stuff overall
    6. nice big map where you can do freely almost nothing
    7. nothing to explore inside

Overall you find new cars, buildings, people etc. but you can do nothing with it. the story is short and boring and outiside of it you can do almost nothing.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Problems with this game out rweigh the pro's big time.

People were won over with nothing but spectacle, fancy graphics and shooting miniguns into police helicopters can be fun and all...but that novelty wears off extremely fast but before people already form their positions on this.

From a single player perspective the biggest thing that the entire marketing revolved around, heists, are very dissapointing
You only have 6 highly scripted heists to go from, some of which have little to no payout. The choice in them are also limited. How you approach is only two options.

Picking your crew was also very half assed. It seemed like there was supposed to be more in this game to form an actual large pool of criminals to level and pick for your heists. So that you either choose some crappy crew early on and lose out on a larger score but build them up into a cheap but extremely proffesional crew by the end ( a long term play) or just have a pro crew straight away and suffer the score having hefty cuts.

But there's so little heists and people to chose from the whole element is just ruined.

Then comes online. This brings the game down big time.
Delayed...but still comes out absolutely buggy and unplayable for a month (and still unbearably slow to this day!)
Then comes the heists, which force people to require a four man crew....that is impossible to find thanks to terrible rockstar servers AND if you do find all four players, the game can be instantly disconnected and throw you out of that session/lobby if just one man decides to leave. Or get's disconnected by shoddy R* servers.

Seriously, this game was absolutely atrocious from a technical perspective, awful. Onc
e again style winning over substance and it's infuriating to watch gamers applaud and throw money at this tactic.

GTA V was the best in its day. But now, 2016, it is outdated and milked. Online is garbage sold as gold. 8-10 years old kids shouting at the microphone all day. In current gen consoles it consumes a considerable percentage of your storage. And everything in this game is outdated, from gameplay to graphics. If this was still 2013 I would recommend it, but now, at half 2016, it is outdated as hell. Expand

The Main Story Mode is a 7.5/10.
Elements of microtransactions have really ruined the game.
If you go online there are so many people using cheats and modes that the game is unplayable. There will be a modders in EVERY online lobby and you cannot get away from it. Rockstar does nothing to stop it.

Incredibly bad looking game, plenty of aliasing, shimmering and textures popping on high end PC. Other than that clever and fun but this is greatly overshadowed by technical problems.

If you hadn’t had a chance to play it yet at all though, and your computer can handle it, the PC version does definitely feel like the definitive version.

Rockstar promised that the PC edition of GTA V would be the best way to experience this breathtaking game, and that’s exactly what it is. [06/2015, p.48]

We could not expect a better PC port PC for Grand Theft Auto V. Rockstar North, offers right from day one a huge game in optimized, widely scalable, and high impact graphics and the video editor, although not so easy to use, is an enjoyable addition.
