May 14, 2026Horizon’s sixth entry is such a triumph on almost every conceivable level that it’s difficult to imagine how Playground will be able to refine the series’ quality further than it already has. Barring wonky building systems that, thankfully, can be completely ignored, this isn’t just the quintessential Horizon game. Playground’s newest racer sets the benchmark for fun-first racing that’s almost obsessive in how accessible it makes itself to any type of player without anything getting lost in translation. Playground has spent 16 years refining Horizon’s formula into something remarkably frictionless, and Horizon 6 feels like the first time every piece fully clicks into place. Forza Horizon 6 doesn’t just bring the series to Japan. It finally brings Horizon home after a journey that started in Colorado, and the result is one of the best racing games of all time.

May 14, 2026It would be easy to say that Forza Horizon 6 is simply the best version of itself so far, and leave it at that, but that undersells what it truly achieves. It is an accumulation of its past five iterations, but somehow remains light on its feet. It’s a game that understands spectacle without becoming hollowed out by it. For a series about driving fast, its real achievement is teaching you to notice what you are passing through and stopping to admire it.

May 14, 2026Forza Horizon 6 refines a well-established formula with remarkable confidence. Its Japan-inspired map, driving freedom, and accessibility make it highly enjoyable, even if it takes few risks compared to previous entries. Even so, its execution remains so polished and entertaining that it continues to stand as one of the genre’s benchmarks and among the very best titles of 2026.

May 14, 2026Forza Horizon 6 is another excellent entry in an excellent series, from an excellent developer. Part of me wants more than that, but I've no idea how that would work.
-
May 14, 2026Ultimately, Forza Horizon 6 is an excellent game that lets you have fun without overthinking anything. There’s a huge amount to do solo, the multiplayer offers an almost limitless lifespan, and the energy carried by the Festival’s positive atmosphere genuinely feels good. While waiting for the PlayStation 5 version, expected later this year, we hope the Xbox and PC community will show up, because the game truly deserves it. The Japan of Forza Horizon 6 is waiting for you.
-
May 14, 2026Forza Horizon 6 offers a vast, beautiful open-world environment that perfectly captures the essence of Japan. There’s plenty to do here, but unfortunately, it doesn’t represent a major leap forward in terms of gameplay.

May 14, 2026I’m as captivated as I am frustrated by Forza Horizon 6. It’s still the best open-world racing game on the market and I intend to spend hundreds of hours playing it – but after a four-year wait and significant competition, I was expecting more innovation. It’s simply more of the same, just on a fresh and beautiful map.
