Apr 8, 2016Enter the Gungeon is a shooting bonanza that roguelike shooter aficionados will utterly love. The game will also possibly generate new followers for the genre as the theme is more likable and the gameplay more approachable than The Binding of Isaac.
-
Apr 7, 2016While the Rogue like genre may be getting a little crowded, there's certainly room for the likes of Enter the Gungeon. It ticks all the boxes, with gameplay that beckons you to come back for one more run, a great art style and presentation, and seemingly something new discover or unlock on every playthrough.
-
Apr 6, 2016A wonderful, demanding but rewarding, roguelike twin-stick shooter where the visuals connect with the gameplay and the music is getting you pumped to shoot more bullets at bullets. Enter the Gungeon does a good job of explaining its mechanics via tutorial and Ammonomicon, making it great first for anyone looking to get into this burgeoning genre. It doesn’t necessarily bring anything new to table, but what it does bring is extremely well done.
-
Apr 5, 2016Quirky, funny, demanding, and requiring an awful lot of skill: Enter the Gungeon is one of the best action-roguelites in years.
-
Apr 5, 2016Enter the Gungeon is one of the most entertaining pixelated rogue-like shooters I played in recent times.
-
Apr 28, 2016Inspired and challenging, Enter the Gungeon is a great bullet hell with some balance problems.
-
Apr 11, 2016Frenetic and dazzling dungeon crawler, one of the best we have played during the present year.
-
Apr 6, 2016A bullet hell that is as sweet to discover as it is to play. Fun and beautiful but uninventive.
-
Apr 5, 2016Enter the Gungeon is an essential pick for those that are fans of the roguelike twin-stick shooter genre, and a great choice for those looking for an action-filled arcade romp as well. Even with permadeath threatening to ruin your fun around every corner, the vast selection of goofy guns and eventual discoveries keep you coming back again and again without any lingering frustration.
-

-
Apr 18, 2016Enter the Gungeon is an incredibly addicting indie game that will keep you coming back for more. It goes to great lengths to improve on the rogue-like genre, fixing flaws and tightening balance, all with a tongue-in-cheek presentation that can’t help but make you smile… if you like shooting things, that is.
-
Apr 14, 2016Enter the Gungeon offers fresh and always fair pixel action and will be a thrill especially for Isaac fans.
-
May 18, 2016Explosive, sometimes even crazy, funny and joyful roguelike action – that is Enter the Gungeon. To combine frenzied top-down shooter with harsh difficulty and gigantic loot was a brilliant idea. Equally high is the technical part of the game.
-
May 4, 2016Enter the Gungeon is one of those "your mileage may vary" indie games.
-
Apr 29, 2016Enter the Gungeon is a wonderful mix of intricate difficulty and vast silliness (dodge)rolled into one— Any player partial to roguelikes or bullet-hell games will find a lot to do, and completists will be running around the gungeon for months to come.
-
Apr 19, 2016Both compelling and infuriatingly difficult, Enter the Gungeon offers hours of frantic bullet hell fun.
-
Apr 15, 2016Enter the Gungeon naturally won’t be for everyone, especially with its high difficulty and the pixel art graphics, regardless of how well crafted they are. It is, however, an excellent blend of roguelike and satisfying bullet hell gunplay that’s easy to dip into time and again.
-
Apr 9, 2016If you're looking for a roguelike twinstick shooter, Enter the Gungeon is one of the best. You'll shoot and dodge roll your way through procedurally-generated levels. Over 200 guns and secret rooms means you'll dive into the Gungeon again and again. It's not the most most innovative roguelike, but what it does, it does well.
-
Apr 5, 2016I’m already itching to get back into the Gungeon. Even if it’s occasionally frustrating, it’s still an addictive, rewarding experience. Polished gameplay and accessibility make way for fun, frantic and stylish firefights, whilst the classes add variety and cater to different playstyles. It’s a game that feels great to play alone, and is probably even better with a friend through local co-op. Simplistic, yet full of depth, Enter the Gungeon deserves to be in your collection.
-
Apr 8, 2016Enter the Gungeon is a good shooter that underdelivers on its promise. It's still fun, but there are better examples of the genre.
-
CD-ActionJun 29, 2016An illegitimate child of Binding of Isaac and Nuclear Throne – a wonderfully animated twin-stick shooter with randomly generated world, vast choice of weapons and pixel graphics. It’s a shame it didn’t inherit Isaac’s atmosphere and Nuclear Throne’s pace. [06/2016, p.44]
-
Apr 5, 2016Enter the Gungeon is an exhilarating experience, but the difficulty often comes from the game refusing to provide you the necessary tools, which offers its own unique challenges.

Apr 5, 2016I’m not going to confess to you just how bad I am at Enter The Gungeon. But I think it’s testament to the superbly high quality of its construction that I’m not tiring of trying. This is the genre done right, although with an upbeat, uncruel approach that feels atmospherically more reminiscent of Rogue Legacy than, say, Nuclear Throne. It’s very silly in presentation, but very serious in pixel-perfect controls. Goodness knows if it’s good deeper in, but I’m having a brilliant time not finding out.
