    Boring game with no actual innovation, actually feels they are going backwards.
    1.terrible and boring missions
    2 terrible story
    3.terrible voice acting
    4.terrible optimization
    5.super boring game
    I couldn't even bring myself to play it for more than 3 hours.

    Probably best open world map and traverse mechanics. Impressive story variety. Sometimes cut scenes don't fit your story branch and there are a bunch of bugs and downgrades, but nothing that can't be fixed with patches. I suggest playing at least a year after release, you will probably enjoy it.

    I really don't get why it currently has 4.2 user score here on Metacritic. Yes, there are some glitches and yes, the story/decision aspect is not the best, but the parkour gameplay, fighting, atmosphere and the city itself are all awesome. And even after 50 hours I still haven't done everything i want. Money well spent.

    You can cool down. It's not a previous game. It's just other game with the same name.
    Is this game bad? No.
    Is this game good? No.
    Is it awesome or ugly? No.
    This game is very casual and very mediocre. A scary tale without tale and horror.

    The graphics are OK, the sounds are OK, the gameplay..ehh..the story.. what story? It's as generic as it gets. The game is super glitchy and unfinished. The enemies and friendly NPCs all move around awkwardly    What has happened to the Gaming Development industry? Is this what they call a finished product? Are they proud of this?     The graphics are OK, the sounds are OK, the gameplay..ehh..the story.. what story? It's as generic as it gets. The game is super glitchy and unfinished. The enemies and friendly NPCs all move around awkwardly and unnaturally and the writing is made by elementary school children.

    Is the game fun? Kind of? As long as you can make fun of it and just follow quests WITH A FRIEND. By yourself? Go play Days Gone or almost any other BETTER open world and/or zombie game.

    I also do NOT understand why devs feel the need to add the work f**k into every sentence either. Good writing requires a bigger dictionary.    … Expand

    this is not the game we were promised. They did huge marketing campaigns to show us a wonderful game with outstanding gameplay and superb graphics. The result is a mediocre game with boring gameplay, dated graphics and full of bugs

    Świetny tytuł, godziny można spędzić na eksploracji świata gry na przeszukiwaniu budynków czy skakaniu po dachach, aż chce się zwiedzać i eksplorować świat gry fabuła też ciekawa i wciągająca, nie mogę się doczekać co techland doda w dalszym czasie, polecam tytuł fanom DL1 dla mnie DL2 jest godnym następcą DL1.

    Developers, please don't listen to all of this haters who place ultra low marks in their reviews. All the people who love your game just too busy playing your awesome game.
    10/10 awesome game, I recommend.

    With many more tools and attributes to use, it seems like Techland took a good risk in adding new features. New in game features are fun and refreshing, the developers took the original concept and added gameplay that is more immersive and story driven than the first game. The story missions (as well as the side missions) are more narrative based, creating a dramatic and reactionary environment.

    A literal downgrade on the first game, everything apart from maybe the graphics are just worse.. Combat is the worst part, doesn't feel as satisfying as the first, way more boring and repetitive, what a shame.

    Quite good game with a few bugs here and there but none game-breaking for me!
    If you are worried about the bugs hold off and wait a bit before hitting the buy button.
    Looking forward to seeing all the upgrades and support to come over the next 5 years that will make it a 10/10

    However the reason I give this a 0 is because the game is completely unplayable without using mods to remove the horrendous HUD clutter in    Without the major problems this would probably get an 8.     However the reason I give this a 0 is because the game is completely unplayable without using mods to remove the horrendous HUD clutter in this game. It is probably the worst I have seen in a very long time and the HUD option "Immersive" is pathetic and like a slap in the face. There is nothing "immersive" about it and there are icons EVERYWHERE. The people in charge of the interface should get fired on the spot. You cant' even see at times because there is so much HUD clutter everywhere.
    I finally could play the game though after finding modders who have removed the HUD and the xray eyes etc. I can't review a game that is fixed by modders though but have to review it as it is when buying.

    Apart from the horrendous HUD there are also many other big problems with the game. For example:

    - Copy paste interiors that all look identical. They are complete 1:1 copy paste of one location to the next. Even the big GRE missions you go on are completely identical. Exteriors look great, but as soon as you get indoors it is like the graphics downgrades 10-15 years and you get a serious sense of deja vu.

    - Controls often feel unresponsive in some ways.

    - Even on hard difficulty the game is so easy you will be bored. It is like it was made for kids. Also many overpowered mechanics, especially the crossbow that makes every other weapon in the game obsolete.

    - Some of the most important "choices" in the game are made for you

    - Picking faction does not really have any effect on the game.

    - Dying has no consequence

    - Zombies feel more like an annoyance than something you are afraid off like in the first game. If you don't mod away the xray vision also then there is zero suspense since you can see every enemy through walls

    - Too many and respawning loot everywhere making loot locations pointless    … Expand

    Best Open World Game since years!
    A World full of little and big Stories. The night and Day circle is done well. Not to forget the many and creative easter eggs :)))

    But i give only 9 points because of Some Bugs.
    But none of them are really game crashing.

Almost all of us play mobile games and we like them for killing our time in transport, on lunchbreaks, or booring meetings and that's why you can see so many positive reviews, because it's mobile impostor on PC.     Visual (7/10) So visual - graphics is great, everything looking fine for me, but you can still face with fps issues and lots of bugs with textures and it's really annoying. I like music, main theme is great and empower me for fights and long night runs. I don't like in game interface - it's too heavy and ambiguos, you will see that for real fun(punching zombie faces) you don't need 70% of different items, menus, collectables and other text info. So I believe it can be simplified.

    Gameplay (7/10) Ok. gameplay is really fun (for firsth 10 hours), but then you understand that to get fun you need to grind levels and zombies. Annnd still no fun, because game is easy, no coop, no interesting zombies or situations. But the game imitates that it has a lot of content, and you go do the same things and waiting for something new, but behind the scene and 300+ hours to complete all game is nothing. It's similar to Ubisoft open-grind world games, but even in Ubisoft games you can get something interesting from grinding, this game is just kills your time. Just a small example - in one side quest small girl goes to enemy nest to get most valuable thing of her life, when you help her, she just give this thing to you sayng: "I don't need it anymore, bye" So I feel myself playing average mobile zombie game, not the game trying to AAA title.

    Story (5/10) Weakest part of the game. In general story is boring and for me it reminds metro last light, so whole game I feel like, I already see this, nothing new here, lets go investigate world. Characters - I don't like characters, they all are - we are family, one for one, but in next scene they kill each other and you can go with other guys, so no one notice. So characters are not working, because you have choices that have only less influence on others and for me it feels very pathetic.

    So all in all it's a average SINGLEPLAYER PC game, don't spend your time, unless you like zombies, or like mobile grinding.    … Expand

    I will be short, the first DL1 was not perfect in performance either but it was unique and innovative, even the main story was ok , unfortunately DL2 is not a worthy successor yet, not only for the bugs, bad story and mechanics, but for continuing the new trend in the market, i get the money first (preorder) and fix it later, nowadays triple A games are almost all a disaster. Only someI will be short, the first DL1 was not perfect in performance either but it was unique and innovative, even the main story was ok , unfortunately DL2 is not a worthy successor yet, not only for the bugs, bad story and mechanics, but for continuing the new trend in the market, i get the money first (preorder) and fix it later, nowadays triple A games are almost all a disaster. Only some specific and independent studios produce good quality games and i prefer to support these studios from now on. I will not even comment the adding of denuvo last minute.… Expand

    Perfection. The bugs will get worked out. Free content and worthwhile paid content will be added for years for come. Worth buying. I rate games on how fun they are. Regardless of everything else. If you like fun, You should l look into this. If you need perfection of everything else, you should still look into this but it may not be for you. Because it's not "perfect".     O love this one, very good parkour, massive improvment in fight, brethtaking open world, nice story, interesting sidequests.. cool game!

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. I like gameplay - parkour mechanics, fight zombies. Also design is really good and looks beautiful
    Story and side quests are really bad.
    Craft system, lockpicking, auto leveling after game completion also annoying.
    Probably you could play 500hrs there, but really complete story and most of the side quests ~40-50 hrs and after that game become very boring.
    I hope we will get good story DLC, not skin ones lol.    … Expand

    A complete let down after the first, clunky parkour, lacklustre story, combat isn’t compelling and extremely slow burning! Everything locked behind skills and upgrades but it takes forever to level up. Just doesn’t feel like a good follow up to the first game.

    most Indie games I played are way better and interesting than this crap game. Asked for a refund and will never buy any other game from techland dying light 1 is better

    Despite all my complaints, I initially had fun with Dying Light 2. The first quarter of the game was engaging. I think if the rest of the game played like this, I would have way more positive things to say, but the fact is that it’s just not done. This is clearly an unfinished game mired in mismanagement. I don’t blame the developers at all; the leaders and executives behind this work are responsible. What works here is clean and well done, albeit with some boring AAA niceties. After the first quarter or so, though, the game absolutely falls apart in almost every respect. I’m sad for what was produced here, but if I’m being honest, I’m more sad that I invested nearly thirty hours of my own time into this. Don’t make the same mistake I did.

    Dying Light 2 has proven to be a brilliant zombie game, thanks to the great parkour and combat mechanics. The story however is a bit flawed due to some really strange twists.

    There is fun to be had here, but aside from a few moments of joyous parkour, it's the sort of fun you can have in dozens of other open-world games. There is certainly some added fun in co-op with a couple of friends, but in a world where we get another open-world game every week, I just cannot recommend anyone go out and buy Dying Light 2 at full price. Especially not when it came out right before Horizon: Forbidden West and Elden Ring, both of which look far more promising.
