    The second game is a clear downgrade in almost everyway. The devs seem oblivious to what made the first game fun, it was essentially a zombie killing sandbox and it was the best one ever made.

    Hours of fun just playing around with the hordes of zombies, pushing them into traps, setting them on fire, kicking them through windows and off rooftops, mowing them down with the vehicle in the    The second game is a clear downgrade in almost everyway. The devs seem oblivious to what made the first game fun, it was essentially a zombie killing sandbox and it was the best one ever made.

    Hours of fun just playing around with the hordes of zombies, pushing them into traps, setting them on fire, kicking them through windows and off rooftops, mowing them down with the vehicle in the DLC. Each weapon felt unique, each swing was satisfying, the way the zombies seemed to react differently to every hit. Of course the story wasn't great but nobody cared, it was good enough to keep you moving through the game.

    So what do they decide to do with the sequel? Attempt to turn it into a branching RPG-like story focused game where all your choices will matter, which they seemed to have completely given up on half way through development and just left the barebones of it.

    That wouldn't be a problem if they didn't neglect almost everything that made the first game so good, zombies will now play canned animations after every hit before they go ridiculously flying through the air like they've been hit by a truck when they die.

    The weapons have lost all their weight and impact, a baseball bat will cut through a crowd of zombies just as easily as a sword will. Even kicking zombies off of rooftops isn't fun anymore because they don't go tumbling off ledges, now they just slide off and fall straight down.

    Overall the combat is worse than the second game, although human v human combat is improved it is nothing special. The ragdolling and physics have been massively downgraded, zombies won't even stick to spike traps anymore, they just collapse and die. There are less zombie hordes and they are less fun to kill. Almost all horror aspects of the game have been lost, night time isn't dark, no roaming volatiles and the loot scan ability now reveals every zombie in the area.

    For all the focus and marketing around the story it is no better than the first but it is definitely longer, more boring and more irritating. The only improvement is in the parkour but it still gets plenty of things wrong, the ridiculous running animation and Aiden having the same vertical leap as the Mario brothers are the obvious ones.

    Dying Light 1 is still the best zombie game, Dying Light 2 feels like a Ubisoft reboot.    … Expand

    If I had one criticism, it would be the choice in American voice acting. The voice acting is excellent, that's not the issue. The issue is the accent. Villador is somewhere in Europe. I understand that the English language version needed to have English speaking voice actors, but it would have been more immersive to have Europeans speaking English with their native accent. That's my only complaint, and it's so minimal it's hardly worth mentioning at all.

    This game is a 10/10 for me. It checks all the boxes. It's all the things in a game I love, specifically in the Action Adventure RPG category. I love the Far Cry series. I love RAGE 2. I love Cyberpunk 2077. I love the Metro series. I love Mad Max. I love Tomb Raider. I love The Division. I love the Red Faction series... and I love the Dying Light series.

    Techland... you've done it again. Improved above and beyond the first game, which I love, and will still always play... thank you... thank you so much! Masterpiece! Instant classic! So glad I preordered. Can't wait to see what DLC is planned, and what's next!    … Expand

    Игра зашла, по сравнению с первой частью в разы лучше. Сюжет стал интереснее, появились новые механики. Играл на Ps4 , оптимизация хорошая.

    Very fun game, has it's flaws definitely like the bugs, not a big fan of the immunity timer or no manual saves but gameplay is just too fun. If you like the first dying light, you'll like this one.

    - Довольно-таки сложная и долгая прокачка снаряжения и навыков.

    Плюсы:
    - Общая атмосфера, палитра цветов и карта.
    - Очень много активностей, квестов, интересных точек на карте.
    - Харизматичные персонажи, запоминаются.
    - Хорошая озвучка, такое встретишь нечасто (русский мат в ассортименте).
    - Много холодного оружия, улучшения к нему из первой части никуда не делись.
    - Если в первой части ночью не было особо смысла вылазить, то здесь большинство ценностей нужно искать в темное время суток. Многие квесты также доступны только ночью.
    - Паркур и боёвка очень плавные и проработанные.
    - Мир довольно живой и насыщенный базами фракций, бандитами. Можно часто встретить этих людей, чем-то занятых
    - Система фракций, на мой взляд, реализована довольно здорово и влияет на геймплей.
    - Не понимаю, за что так засрали сюжет. По моему мнению, цель главного героя хоть и банальна, но подача и сюжетные квесты довольно интересны. В сюжете действительно есть ключевые моменты, от выбора которых зависит судьба города и персонажей.

    С учётом скорых патчей и фиксов - твёрдая восьмерка.    … Expand

    About 12 hrs into the game so far and I am just having a lot of fun grinding, killing zombies, looting, doing parkour, and other side content. I haven't even being doing the main quests that quickly because the gameplay loop is so fun and addicting up until this point. My score may change after I beat the game but so far I give it a 9 and imo it is more addicting/fun to play than the firstAbout 12 hrs into the game so far and I am just having a lot of fun grinding, killing zombies, looting, doing parkour, and other side content.     I really hope a lot of these problems get resolved and they bring back repairing, rebalancing the skill trees would be appreciated.

    Game is amazing my only complaints are the story and the enemy variety. Story lacks here and there and wasn't really compelling also the decisions in the game i think are pointless they don't change much other than the open world bonuses the factions give and enemy variety is bad for a long game like this one literally only 3-4 human enemies and 6-7 zombie variants. Overall a solid game but if you you are not a fan of parkour/movement games or fan of the first game i would suggest to wait for a discount or to buy the game with the epic games discount coupon.     A buggy disappointment. Outside of diehard fans wait until a 1/2 price sale. Along side all manner of annoying bugs the biggest issues are a terrible story, poor voice acting, fake choices (pick a or b! they both lead to C!), lack of features from DL1 (repair/craft weapons for example), and many more issues.     Most of these *could* be fixed with patches but due to the 7 years of drama that lead to this I expect it to pull a cyberpunk and basically promise the world and in reality they just do the bare minimum and hope it keeps selling on false promises. I certainly wouldn't buy it for full price based off all the deceptive marketing that lead to my sale. Wait a year or so and see what the recent reviews say before paying full price.    … Expand

    Game is Very Good. Taking some of the best parts from the original and spinning it into something new yet not too radically different.
    Some of the good:
    - Parkour very solid and unique ( almost everything can be interacted with) - Gameplay - Pretty Interesting Characters - 4 Player Co op - Good solid Map to explore Mixed Feelings: -Respawn system isnt great -weapons can't be    Game is Very Good. Taking some of the best parts from the original and spinning it into something new yet not too radically different.
    Some of the good:
    - Parkour very solid and unique ( almost everything can be interacted with)
    - Gameplay
    - Pretty Interesting Characters
    - 4 Player Co op
    - Good solid Map to explore

    Mixed Feelings:
    -Respawn system isnt great
    -weapons can't be repaired
    - Early game stamina/parkour can be slow
    - Graphics are decent but doesn't feel next gen by any means.
    - Overall story isn't that rememberable (Aiden is probably the least interesting character in the game)
    - Factions system poorly designed
    - Some Bugs
    - Choices don't have as much of an effect as I hoped

    BAD:
    - Denuvo being here is pretty disappointing (pirates will get the better end game again)

    Simply dying light 1, but improved in every aspect. We still get the fun of parkour and slashing hordes of zombies. The quest are hella emotional. Seriously, sometimes I felt broken after them, but that is a positive thing because it shows how immersive the experience can be and how engaging the side quests are. Haven't encountered any major glitches so far. I'm looking forward toSimply dying light 1, but improved in every aspect. We still get the fun of parkour and slashing hordes of zombies. The quest are hella emotional. Seriously, sometimes I felt broken after them, but that is a positive thing because it shows how immersive the experience can be and how engaging the side quests are.     Pretty nice game, good sequel. Greate combat and parkour, amazing choises. And only thing that ruin this game od optimalisation. But if you're fan of the first part definitly must play.

    I have to admit I havent even made it through the complete tutorial, before I gave up.

    Personal issues with headbobbing (I so hate it): My personal worst is the headbobbing and constant movement of the camera. Even in Idle the picture moves with the breathing and in combat the cam is all over the place, it seems to be moving with any movement the head of the protagonist does. The    I have to admit I havent even made it through the complete tutorial, before I gave up.

    The story feels uninterseting and doesnt really add up even at the very first few bits you get out of it. Too much Deus ex Machina already in the first conversation... ugh.

    I cant quite put my finger on it, but somethings weird with the graphics (Played around with FOV, but the movement in the world never felt real or natural). Aidens wooden movement, that made me want to break his arms to get them out of the screen didnt help, either.

    The survivors sense is quite ackward as well. It highlights items for like 3 seconds and then you can interact with them anymore, unless you click again. So you are constantly spamming it - first WTF moment.

    I have no Idea, how one could come to the conclusion that a Stamina system in a game, thats massively depending on the smooth movment might add to the experience. Right at the beginning of the tutorial (after spike) you have to climb a ledge and do a jump, if you miss the first time, you either wait for the stamina to replenish or you will fall off the ladder for running out of it - 10 mins in and I already hated the game for that.

    Off we go to the next stop on the tutorial. Survival sense is worthy of superman, i can see verything behind every wall....no more careful epxloring required - I know where you are... meh

    Didnt notice the weirdness of fighting yet, cause sleeky me crept up on them and enjoyed the ever repeating takedown animation.

    Every repeating micros stutters from probably Denuvo also become more noticable. But as any pickcing up also stops you for a quick and bad animation, its less anyoing.

    Every time you search, Aiden is performing so kind of voodoo speel on the thing, so you get better stuff, i suppose. Looks silly, gets old fast.

    Next stop is an old houe, you search it - empty. But as soon as you jump out of the window, a dozen zombies spawns and crawls out of thin air. Another cringe and then the first fight.

    Not only are is my survival sense superhuman, I also possess enough power to let every monster I kill fly away like a balloon hit with a racket. Unless they fall of a cliff, then they stand up again to play there proper death animation. Hitting them has that balloony feeling as well, resulting in a very unsatisfying feeling.

    I carried my unsatisfied feelings down the next hill, over the lake and zoomed thorugh a bunsh of zombies before entering the subways for some more cringy dialog and the final decision, that this isnt for me to play.

    I loved dying light one pretty much as I dislike this new installment, which was a huge disappointment from the first frame onward

    TL;DR:

    Bad animations
    Story seems to have been written by a child
    Fighting is ragdoll bashing with bad hit feedback and ridicuolos physics
    Headbobbing/Camera all over the place
    Stamina System drains the fun out of parkour

    Despite all my complaints, I initially had fun with Dying Light 2. The first quarter of the game was engaging. I think if the rest of the game played like this, I would have way more positive things to say, but the fact is that it’s just not done. This is clearly an unfinished game mired in mismanagement. I don’t blame the developers at all; the leaders and executives behind this work are responsible. What works here is clean and well done, albeit with some boring AAA niceties. After the first quarter or so, though, the game absolutely falls apart in almost every respect. I’m sad for what was produced here, but if I’m being honest, I’m more sad that I invested nearly thirty hours of my own time into this. Don’t make the same mistake I did.

    There is fun to be had here, but aside from a few moments of joyous parkour, it's the sort of fun you can have in dozens of other open-world games. There is certainly some added fun in co-op with a couple of friends, but in a world where we get another open-world game every week, I just cannot recommend anyone go out and buy Dying Light 2 at full price. Especially not when it came out right before Horizon: Forbidden West and Elden Ring, both of which look far more promising.
