Unfortunately, due to whatever pathetic attempt at optimization passed at Bioware it is practically unplayable. Before the moneybags with dual Nvidia Titans start whining, the fact that changing the graphical settings on this game changes almost nothing in terms of performance shows that Bioware made very little effort to properly adapt their game to anything resembling a range of machine hardware, I would indeed be extremely surprised if they even tested the game on anything other than the PCs used to create it.

This is a very sad state of affairs indeed, and hopefully Bioware recognizes that they have an obligation to put equal amounts of effort into opitmizing the PC release of their game as much as the console versions.

This is appalling for a series that found it's home on PC.

Absolutely disgraceful and disgusting, it's sickening to see such little effort accompany such huge promises and ambition, truly disparaging to the very core.

The narrative itself is about par for the course for Bioware these days, which is to say, something a 13 year old fan-shipper might write in her spare time and entirely uninspiring - even the return of fan favorites from Dragon Age Origins isn't a big enough tide of good will to lift the leaky boat of this once well respected company.

Multiplayer is pointless co-op (go play a real MMO!) with no PvP and gaudily offers you buffs for RL money, like health potions. Yes, EA has once again saddled another game with pointless multiplayer and micro-transactions.

I'm really disappointed in this series, especially considering it started out with such an excellent title. It's fallen so far that they are even retconning their own lore at this point, as I had to roll my eyes at Iron Bull completely disregarding the Qunari caste system laid out in the first game in what I can only imagine is some bizarre "politically correct" need to make a repressive caste driven warrior race seem "less sexist".

This game is going into the trash heap of "games I wish I had never bought", right next to it's predecessor and Mass Effect 3. I consider this title the final epitaph for what was once a respected and renown studio.

On the plus side, the one thing that Origin has going for it is the "great game guarantee". Refunded this piece of trash in a matter of 1 hour.

Sunk roughly 50 hours into the game and nowhere near completion. Though that hurts my pride as a completionist, it's the perfect time for a review.

Bioware had a lot to make up to their players, after the rushed disappointment that was Dragon Age II and the debacle known as Mass Effect 3. They took their time and it shows. And while they heavily improved on the shortcomings of "Inquisitions" precursor, they opened themselves up for a whole world of stupid design decisions.

    The positive:
    ++ Graphics
Frostbite shows it's teeth. Marvelous textures, great faces, superb lighting. The metal shaders are supreme and some scenes border on photo-realism. On the other hand, hair looks garbage. It's as reflective as a shiny armour and gives a super-greasy impression. It's beyond me, that no one noticed it during development, as it detracts from the immersion and ridicules many a serious scenes.
    +++ Sound
Great Music, great effects. I especially like that allies under attack, are either calling for help or other allies try to draw your attention to their plight.
    ++ Level Design
Large semi open-world maps are enticing players to be explored. Never a dull corner, always the urge: "Just that ridge." Only drawback, some areas are so thick with enemies, that fast enemy respawn and long ways to replenish supplies means, that you're fighting some battles 2 or 3 times, before you break through to a nearer camp site. Especially on higher difficulties, where you burn through your healing potions like water in the desert.
    ++ Characters
Great NPCs, great allies. Good depth of character, and good character development for the main cast. We know that Bioware can create great characters, but their integration into the world lacks. It's mostly unimportant who you take on missions. No special story tidbits and only minor quibs that are interchangeable. Follower quests are mostly "Fetch Crap" missions.

    The mehs:
    +- Crafting
Exhaustive system and every piece of equipment can be crafted and modified by modifieable mods. Stats and textures change based on the ingredients. But I'm not comfortable with having to grind for the resources as it leads to a lot of useless fights while farming. The ocasional armor and weapon can be crafted with the resources you gobble up while exploring. Having all your companions equipped to their best is a tiresome task to undertake.
    +- Items
Most non-crafted items are vendor-trash, uniques are far and few between and mostly bland in appearance and stats. Merchants are garbage dumps, as they stock nothing of particular interest. I've got loads of cash with nothing to spend it on, so I'm thinking about investing in that Orlesian mad man.
    +- Story/Dialogues
Won't spoil it for you. Just: I've seen better writing. It still occasionally shines, and Biowares past genius glimpses.

    The neeeeeeeeeeegs:
    --- Skill trees and leveling
I hate it. No more sustainable skills. Everythings active now. Even basic attacks. I hate that mmo-crap. No influence over how the attributes are raised, instead buying some skills will raise them. No talents, no traps, no lockpicking, no coercion, no persuasion. Every chest opens, most doors are opened by all roques, no matter how they are skilled. Overall: Less possibilities for truly unique and great builds, more blandness. But hey: Players won't **** it up at least.
    -- Potions
They are useless. You can equip at most 2 different potions per character in addition to healing potions. And since you can't enter your inventory mid-combat and adapt by swapping useless potions out and useful ones in it's pretty much pointless. Fill those slots with grenades and go postal.
    --- AI
Tactics screen is gone, the alternative is ridiculous. Expect your mages to **** up your party with their aoe, lest you micromanage them. Expect your 2-handed guy to **** up your party then. Solution: Dumb it down, disable friendly fire. The rock, paper, scissors buffs from DA2 have been dumbed down even more...
    ---Combat
Is ****ed up. Balancing is garbage. For a game that's mostly about fighting, Bioware sure messed it up.
    ---Camera
A joke. How am I supposed to coordinate an attack, when it's impossible to get all your allies in one screen? Camera hangs on every corner, pray, that no chandelier whacks your zoom even closer.
    ---UI
Console UI for a PC game. It's deficient, and it shows everywhere. Mouse not working on some menus unless you RMB first.

9 in favour 17 against: 26% is my score. Sure, go ahead and buy it if you're a fanboy like me. But do expect to rage regularly, because there is a beautiful game buried underneath a pile of bad design decisions. And that grows ever more in you, as "Dragon Age: Inquisition" will be rubbing your nose into its deficiencies for a looooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooong time.

After 5 hour of playing, I finally gave up and dropped it. It feels like a big theme park MMORPG. Even Bioware admitted this game was originally meant as an MMORPG, then they changed their mind and developed it a single player game. But for what I have seen, this game can be called a single player only because you are alone in the game, but it keeps definitely a MMORPG structure.

The combat is lackluster to say the least, you basically hold down the RMB or R key the entire time.. The tactical mode might as well not even exist.

I really dislike all the MMO like cheesiness in the game (flashing text flying all around during fights, crazy spells and animations, how gold/items/chests are just laying around in random locations like the middle of the floor, etc.)

Says the game is "open world", I don't know what they think open world is because I've been travelling along guided paths the entire time.

I never played DA:II, but I was an enormous fan of Dragon Age: Origins, one of my favorite games by far. I had hoped this game would be a continuation of all that made DAO awesome, but I was wrong.

It was a step in the wrong direction, but Inquisition looked like a fresh start for the series. I could not be more disappointed. I hate this game.

The only positives about DA:I are the nice and varied environments and the music.

    Negatives:

Piss poor PC port. Terrible controls. Useless tactical camera - I didn't even bother trying to use it after the tutorial. Non-mappable mouse buttons. 30FPS locked cut scenes (have to search online for a fix) in a "story" driven game. Lots of bugs and crashing: I had to create my character twice because of a bug.

Mind numbing combat. Was this even play tested? Hold mouse button until the fight's over. That's it. Harder difficulty just means bullet sponge enemies. No tactics whatsoever. I was avoiding combat about 5 hours in. Alpha Protocol combat was better than this. Let that sink in.

Fake open world exploration. Running around with a sonar ping telling people what items to pick up is not going to attract the Skyrim crowd. Paths are cordoned off using rocks and steep elevation making you run through a set path to get to the objective (which are all just listed on the map).

80% of the game length is fetch quests. I just stopped bothering after a while. No payoff at all. The best you get is a Mass Effect 3 style conversation where you click on the NPC and get a couple dialogue lines back (not even in cutscene form to get a look at their face). Bioware seems to like that technique now because they use it on most of the companion dialogue as well. Just stand there and listen to the dialogue.

No RPG elements. You cannot allocate stat points. Each skill tree is basically like a League of Legends character. All you do is put points in and end up with the same build as any other character of the same class. No meaningful choice of clothing. The Inquisitor outfit is very similar across all classes and if you don't like it (guess if I do...) then you're screwed wearing the Generic Adventure Gear(tm). Crafting is minimal and mostly just more grinding for materials. All it does is alter the arms/boots and colour.

Anyway enough ranting about that stuff. Afterall this is a Bioware game so it's all about the story and characters at the end of the gay... I mean day.

Bland main story that takes 20 hours to get going. 20 hours. I almost stopped playing right before that point. Antagonist with good potential goes nowhere. None of your (few) choices matter in the end and there's a sequel bait at the end of the credits. Worked out really well for Mass Effect 3 I guess so Bioware did it again.

Main character is so flat that he/she makes Commander Shepard look like Hamlet. I'd rather just have a voiceless protagonist like DA:O or even Hawke with some personality role playing than what Inquisition has. No dialogue choices that create character, no morality or personality system, just click all the responses until the dialogue comes to a close. In most cases it would be better to have mass autodialogue to skip the process of pressing 1,2,3,4 in every cutscene. The choices you do make have no weight in the world. I know a lot about DA lore and it just had no emotional impact the way it was written. Just poor overall.

Characters are cardboard cutouts at best and cringe worthy at worst. Complete hatchet job by the writers. I wanted nothing to do with some of these characters which is a shame because there was potential in their concept. I never thought I'd pine for the days of Anders and Zhevran, but even they would be preferable to these fanfic tier "characters." I found myself embarrassed at many points by the dialogue.

Thought I'd just wash my hands of this game with my thoughts. Critic reviewers are either paid off of have poor taste. Either way have proven themselves without merit.

1/10. The best entertainment value I got out of this game is when the cast breaks into song out of nowhere. Absolutely hilarious. Unfortunately the writers were trying to be serious.

For: Graphics are pretty and the music suits the style and mood. That's probably about it.

Against: Wow, where to start....(takes deep breath).

DA:O was superb in both it's story line and AI tactical scripting. It was a game where the decisions I made had consequences on things that mattered. Nothing I have done in two playthroughs of Inquisition has mattered. All dialogue choices seem to have the same final result, If a companion approves or disapproves it doesn't matter. If I finish any of the kill X of Y quests it doesn't matter. If I run around planting flags like the game wants me to, it doesn't matter. Whatever I do on the tactical table doesn't matter. It's hours and hours of looting, grinding and farming for no real reason at all. Well, that's not terribly satisfying.

Then there's the watered down group AI which makes combat pretty unenjoyable. Call me old fashioned, but I like my tanks tanking, my healer healing, and my dps dpsing. As I can't instruct my group on how they should behave, I can either micromanage them (oh joy !) or let them follow their innate, and bizarre decisionmaking. The tanks doesn't care if a rogue is bashing on my mage, the ranged dps choose to get close and personal, every fight becomes messy and chaotic.

Which also leads to the combat controls. This game would appear to have been designed with consoles and button-mashing in mind. The abilities you have are fairly uninspired and are frequently on cool-down which means that auto-attack something you're doing regularly. Except....to auto attack you have to move your cursor around with the mob and mash the left button. I'm flummoxed why Bioware would have thought this was a good idea. Sure, I 'can' do this, but I'd just as much prefer to stick hot needles in my eyes. It pretty much means that any melee character is nigh on unusable and is a real deal breaker.

All in all, I can't help but be disappointed with this game. If you're after a console button masher with a lot of things to click, you might like this. But if you're after a fresh, shiny new DA:O, I'm sad to say that it's step in the other direction.

This game is a travesty when it comes to controls - the camera cannot be zoomed far enough, it cannot be angled to look up (as when I have to close a rift hovering 30 feet in the air). Ability targetting is so bad that I have trouble managing 12 abilities between 4 characters, while in other games I could easily manage 40.

When a battle takes place in the woods, or in a cave or under a bridge, it turns into a clusterf*ck, where I can't really see who is who, and definitely cannot pull 4+enemies from my party using a single character with a taunt.

Without tactical camera, this game can be played on easy, maybe normal difficulty, otherwise the party AI is retarded - it would rather blow all of it's load on a friggin sheep that got aggroed by an AOE blast than on actual enemies. But what is the point of all these RPG character advancement if I have to play a game on easy?

Exploration seems good so far, faction management shows promise, dialogue is ok, but the combat system is dreadful

For an open world RPG you barely have any interactions with any objects whatsoever. You can't sit on chairs, you can't ask for a drink in the tavern, unable to climb up on rocks (I felt like I was participating in a Slip N Slide pool party), you can't sleep in your bed, and now you can no longer have your character to enjoy the entertainment (humor mind you) of a prostitute in a brothel like you could the previous two games. For a game that is rated M for mature with nudity and sexual content (It indicates it on the box!) I am highly disappointed that theirs lack of it. The only nudity and sexual content you'll ever get to see is if you're finalizing your romance with one of your companions, and it's a one time deal the rest is kissing, that’s it!

The amount of fetch quest is annoying and outrageous. Theirs a crazy ancient Darkspawn trying to destroy the world, and as the Inquisitor I am forced to do trivial task (to rank up power points to do main quests) of doing assistant work for a hunter too lazy to hunt food for his people. I must kill and gather up certain amount of ram meat to feed his villagers.... BORING!!!!

If you go on YouTube type in “Digiexpo 2013 - Dragon Age: Inquisition Gameplay” and watch the entire 31 min and 40 seconds video. You'll see Bioware showing off the Pre-Alpha of the game. You notice that the none of the content that was shown on the video was ever released in the finial version of this game. What we purchased is a whole different game considering to what was advertised to us. They took all of the fun things out, and put nothing but boring fetch quests, and boring skyhold war table quests that you yourself are incapable of participating. This is fraudulent misleading and deception on the behalf of Bioware and EA to their consumers. I can only hope that a Dragon Age fan, who happens to be a good attorney, will step up to the plate, and uses his/her skills as lawyer to open a class action lawsuit against Bioware and EA for this deception.

And whoever in Bioware/EA office thought that it was a great idea to run around Skyhold wearing undergarments (The infamous tan pajamas) is either suffering from a dysfunctional disorder of the mind or putting us all on. Either way were not given a choice to wear our regular armor in Skyhold.

I've been spending the last two hours looking for a solutions all over the net, but there is next to NO official response to this problem. Excellent way to show people you don't care a bit about them. As for customer support... no, I actually don't even want to start ranting about them...

Thoroughly disappointed in you EA and Bioware. Making good games is not enough if you treat the players like that.

I have played about 25 hours so far (mainly main story), so I think I have enough experience with this game to write a short review. I will keep this review spoiler free.

    Story:
A typical bioware/fantasy story. You are the chosen hero and have to save the world from the big bad evil. A story that has been told thousand times and will be told thousand times more. While the story is generic als always, the execution has been good so far. There are barely any twists or surprises (finished about 60% of the story) so far, but the presentation is good. I don't want to spoil anything so I won't got deeper into it. 7/10

    Gameplay:
Overall I like the combat system. My fear was that the flashiness of the attacks would be immersion breaking, but I quickly habituated to it. I would have prefered a more "realistic" look first, but Dragon Age Inquisition doesn't try to be realisitc, so i think it fits the setting. I remember Bioware saying that Dragon Age want's to have a mature, dark and gritty series like of Game of Thrones before they released Origins,. I think they gave this up. Dragon Age Inquisition is 90% high fantasy (Lord of the Rings), so I can live with a unrealistic and flashy combat. Another point is the controls. I'm playing it with keyboard and mouse. There are some problems with it. Tactical camera doesn't work well, because you can't zoom out as much as it would be needed. Another problem is there is no auto attack. If you switch your characters outside of the tactical combat, your previous character will stop to attack. You should play with a controller, if you want to enjoy the game more. 6/10

    Graphics:
They graphics are great fo a (multi region) big open world game. The landsacpe looks fantastic. There are only two problems here. First the face animations look bad and some of the faces look like their are made out of plastic. Secondly the walk animations for female characters in cutscenes are awkward. They have this typical bioware gorilla-men walk. Another point is the immersion of the world. The camps/cities (you can only visit a small area of a city) feel lifeless. Other games (witcher 2 for example) manage to give their citizens a daily routine. Why can't bioware do the same. Why are 90% of the people just standing there and doing nothing? It's kirkwall from Dragon Age 2 all over again. 7/10 (because of the lifeless camps/cities, otherwise it would be 9/10)

    Sound:
Sound effects and music are great. Voice acting in my language (german) is decent. Don't know about the englisgh version. What I don't like is the way the people in Thedas are talking. Everybody is talking in the same well educated way. No matter if you talk to a mage, who studies his whole live or some peasent, who probably can't even write. They all talk in the same way. That's a bit immersion breaking for me, considering thedas was highly inspired by the european middle ages. 8/10

    Questdesign.
That's my main complain. It's horrible. For every interesting main quest you have to do 9 pointless and boring fetch quests. You are the LEADER of a important faction. Why do I permanently have to be deliver boy for some peasents? Why do I have to kill 10x of this, bring 10x of that? Looking at the hinderlands map I felt like I was playing Assassins Creed. 3/10

Characters: Well done Bioware. Most of the Characters are interesting. I don't like the look of most of the female characters, but that's my personal problem. But they are unique and have a lot to tell about their past, motivations and problems. 9/10

Miscellaneous: positive: - big (multi region) open world with a lot of stuff to do (if you like mmo- style quests) -choices and consequences ( can't tell how big) -difficulty is well balanced (playing on hard) -combo system - a LOT of conversations - two voice actors for each gender - extensive character creator - a lot of customization -Skyhold and the possibility to change it's look - being the leader of a powerful organisation is unique in rpgs

negative: - a lot of bugs: Some serious clipping issues. The voice of my inquisitor changed at a certain point of the game. Other (minor) glitches - hair looks awful. No long hair in the game. - Barely any reaction to you actions (I'm closing a breech and fighting demons in a small camp and nobody cares about it) - no attribute points - a LOT less skills than in Origins or even Dragon Age 2 - No punishment if you die - Some serious problems with the quality of writing

After the first 25 hours, the game is a 7.5 for me. Depending on how the story continues it could get a 8. Unfortunaly i'm not only rating the game, but the whole product. EA/Bioware Anti- Consumer policy: - Origins (DRM) - Denuvo (DRM) - First Story DLC XboX One time exclusive - Xbox One/ EA Access exclusive early access - Not moddable game engine - Different ingame content depending on the game version you buy - Different release days depending on the region you live - microtransactions - 2.5 points Overall: 5/10 Collaps

Every single thing in this game is the definition of cliché. Bioware were never good at creating a thrilling or fun game play. "Not boring" tactical fights and running around finding "secret" stashes, in between the cut-scenes and dialogue, were the highest point they could get some of their games to. Anyone who played their old games did so because of the story and the characters. In DA: Inquisition both the game play and the story and characters are brutally degraded to a new level of low. This fact alone makes me... well not sad because I don't care about EA games, but it does bring some nostalgia for BG, IWD and Kotor in me. Which the game itself failed to do so. The game could be played at most once, and in a rush besides that, if the player can stoically withstand the horrible game play. Only to go through the lackluster story that doesn't bring up any emotion. The characters along the way are hollow and develop poorly if at all. I wont go into details because they are just a bad joke gone wrong and don't deserve your attention. Draw your own conclusions.
TL:DR You better play something else if you want to have fun or want a rich characters and a good story. If you have played and liked any of the following: BG 1/2, Neverwinter 1/2, Morrowind/Oblivion/Skyrim, Kotor 1/2, DA: Origins, even Kingdoms of Amalur, Fable 1 or whatever, I sincerely promise to you, that you WILL be disappointed by DA: I.

Things like poor cutscenes and dialogue that reads like it was written by a 12 year old. Wait, that's not fair to 12 year olds; it's like it was written by a 12 year old moron, not a normal 12 year old. The graphics, even set to max quality on every setting, are incredibly disappointing. Cutscenes are choppy even on a system playing the actual game itself of 60+ fps. If you want a basic unthinking and repetitive action game, then you might think this is OK, IF the fix the controls or if you already own a game console controller which you can plug in. There are already plenty of repetitive actions games (which can be incredibly fun, no doubt), but that's not what Bioware and Dragon Age were always about. With this realease I think we can safely say that Bioware no longer really exists. What exists where Bioware used to be is something else, maybe something trying to become ID software.

It would be nice if Metacritic had a review system for their "professional critic" reviews, because just like DA2, it's completely obvious that these critics reviews had to be bought. The game is basically unplayable. How can an unplayable game get good reviews, period?

I totally feel screwed by Bioware. This game is all about console gaming and button mashing. I had to switch from my keyboard and mouse to a game-pad. The reason this so bad, is because the keyboard and mouse have about 95 programmable buttons. My game-pad has about 20. That leaves me 75 short of what I could have available to me. Sadly this option has gone AWOL since Knights of the Old Republic.

The biggest problem though is that it is a button masher. Button mashers are all the same. WAY TOO EASY!!!!!!!!!! Hit the X about ten times. Then hit the Y for the finishing move. Battle is over in about 2.5 seconds. They only take about 9 hours to finish. To be fair I did hear it takes 20 hours to beat Inquisition. Dialogue and cut scenes mean that gaming time is closer to 15 than 20. I recently replayed Origins and Dragon Age 2 thinking I could have part of my story imported. ( Yes, I do realize it was all in vain.) Dragon Age 2 takes about 22 - 25 hours while skipping most of the dialogue and cut scenes. Origins takes about 28 -35 hours. In my opinion we are going in the wrong direction.

Origin used to be an excellent game company. Now it's just a name for EA's download client. EA has wrecked more game franchises, and developer companies than I have fingers. Bioware, Mass Effect, and Dragon Age are not the first and won't be the last. EA's goal is not to make an excellent game that everyone loves. It's to make it to the Holiday rush. Is there a game franchise out there that you love? Pray to God that EA does not buy the developer.

I did enjoy the combat but had difficulties on normal with enemy level scaling and party AI. Had some problems with cut-scenes glitches, the voices and effect not syncing, and invisible walls that limited the partial open world they had. Nothing really memorable about this game except it's great graphics and good voice acting.

There are very few games that I end up exiting out of within 10 minutes of attempting to play. Most of them are obscure indie games and a couple old games that at this point are an eyesore. Only games that came out within last 5 years that I can't play without wanting to throw my keyboard across the room are from EA. This one is one of them.

Controls in this game are absolutely atrocious. I can't even imagine who invented them and figured out how to lay them out. It's torturous, you might as well not bother. No click to move, movement responses are extremely slow, camera controls are probably the most unintuitive thing in existence. Tactical mode took me good 5 minutes of bashing my head against the wall to even try to understand how to navigate. In short?

Graphics? I play on a 4k screen. 4k resolution is a double edged sword. It makes good games look better, it makes bad games look worse (because all the flaws become that much more apparent.) This game looks atrocious on my screen even with all graphics maxed out, textures are worse than the high-res stuff from DA2, animations are twitchy, they still can't figure out how to properly model/texture/animate hands, emotions and expressions pop out only briefly during the line being spoken and then faces return to their static self. It was definitely made for current gen consoles, so it's not as bad as most x360 or ps3 console ports, but nobody in their right mind would honestly say that consoles are anywhere near PC's in terms of performance when you examine high end (and 2x 290x in crossfire is high-end, no matter how you turn it.)

Multiplayer is very similar to ME3 multiplayer, mostly a tacked on experience that has little to do with the rest of the game, but it's basically everything I said above x10. It looks awful, it's terribly gated (limited to 3 starting characters, very little modification, no cosmetic modification available)

I'm sorry, but for a modern game this is absurd, EA/Bioware did literally nothing for the franchise, it's one of the most overhyped, unplayable games of the year, and the fact that it made it to PC is infuriating because there was obviously next to no adjustments made to port it over FROM console version.

I don't generally care enough to write a review but the video "Dragon Age: Inquisition - Made for PC Gamers by PC Gamers" gave me so much hope for this game. Maybe there would finally be a worth successor to Dragon Age: Origins, possibly my favorite game of all time. Alas, the video was a blatant lie!

Starting off with the release bugs, endless loops of party members falling off the edge of the world to die over and over again, forcing you to reload. Party skills being used by the AI at such time you start to wonder if the Nightmare difficulty level only makes your party AI stupider than on other difficulties.

These bugs however, are nothing compared to EVERYTHING related to the tactical camera! First off a bug (which still hasn't been fixed) changing characters actually focuses the view onto that character. This makes every attempt to setup the otherwise horrible tactical camera pointless as it constantly resets.

Oh, yes horrible tactical camera and this isn't even a bug! It's the worst excuse for a tactical tool I've ever seen in a game, you can actually zoom out further when you're in third person mode.

Continuing into the tactical mode, this is where the game designers have outdone themselves compared to even DA:II. You can't queue abilities. Doing things which aren't skills, such as reviving or closing a rift (which you will do quite frequently) can't be done if you select another character during the action.

Actually! It rarely works even then, most of the time you have to switch into the "action mode" and hold down the mouse button being unable to do anything else while waiting for the seconds to pass. Doing this during an intense fight with high level enemies can easily wipe you out.

I say you can be wiped out, but that isn't really true, you can always run away from the fight with your last conscious character, your party will follow you by falling from the sky once their unconscious bodies have been left too far behind. Following this they will regain consciousness and you can generally heal up and return to the already weakened rift/enemy group.

Mob AI! Forgot this gem, if you just make your characters hold their ground, you can kill most melee enemies from a distance by just spamming your auto-attack from afar as they will not rush at you nor take cover. Not always true, but often enough for it to become annoying.

Moving on to the new healing system, it's not horrible after you get into it, but it does make playing the game on Nightmare rather tedious. Not often do you get through an encounter without losing some health. By making sure the only way you can heal is via the dumbed-down potion system, you are constantly forced back to the main camp to refill and then walk an empty path for minutes at a time.

Made for PC Gamers... Returning to this straight out lie, this is the worst PC port since Skyrim. Gone is the walk by clicking option, looting now forces you to painstakingly walk up to within a step of the loot, that is if you don't accidentally attack instead of loot. I swear I've spent 2 hours of my 30 hours in the game trying to get to the point where I can get at my loot.

Again returning to the tactical camera, would you like to interact with that rift? "Yes I would, very much so, I close rift at least a few times per hour." Well you CAN'T! Ok, you can but fidgeting around with the camera so that it looks up on the rift takes a minute and isn't possible it the ground around you is flat.

With that, let's return to the AI, I forgot to mention the way it moves while you're not giving it orders, not that you'll be giving it orders anymore a few hours in. Since it won't do what you tell it to anyway. What it will do, is suicide its way through every encounter. Armed with a crossbow, bow or staff? Why not head straight into melee range and get one-shot by this giant boss?

Getting to the good, which I will not be adding any points for, simple reason being, the main focus of the game, the combat, is awful beyond reckoning. The story is amazing, the companions are incredibly interesting and customization and crafting are a grindfest yet fun. It also looks pretty good.

If you're going to buy it, buy it for a console, play it on normal and only ever use action mode. If you can enjoy the combat that way, great, I'm sure you'll give this game a 10/10.

"Dragon Age: Inquisition - Made for PC Gamers by PC Gamers" I hope they patch the game to such an extent that this actually becomes true. No one would be happier than me to be forced to change this review score.

Finally, the Dragon Age servers can't be reached bug is still in effect as of writing this review, making sure I have been unable to import any of my choices from the previous games. Had the game not already been at a 0/10 this would've lowered the score further still.

    Tl;dr
There is no tactical combat, this is the worst PC port since Skyrim, the camera doesn't work, the AI is horrible and Nightmare is frustrating yet too easy.

I wont even complain about the combat and how clunky it is, or how they just give you a cookie cutter group to start the game with (lazy story design everywhere).

But the RPG aspects of the game let me down so hard, they throw you into a crusader as this inqusition basically out of no where and have you running garbage peasant missions with little to no control over the choices you make. Its like a bad World of Warcraft questing system now where I go collect trash and drop banners everywhere to spread my crappy inquisition around. The dialogue with your characters is basically relegated off to the back end and you really only get to chat with people in haven. The camp fire chit chat and any sort of personal connection you could have made are completely dead and you really don't have the chance to grow on any of these characters because you just hate them so much. The game feels tedious and you'll find your self bored of doing nothing but running around looking for trash on the ground rather than anything epic or interesting. You'll get to level 10 before you even dream of meeting another person and you'll be in the same crappy mountain hinterlands the entire time unless you really try and find other things to do.

This game was a huge let down and I wish i had returned it 2 hours after i bought it as well. Bio Ware is dead, and EA proves that anything it touches is garbage.

The quests, besides the main, are VERY VERY boring. Go get some plants, some materials and get back. The Universe is big, but really empty and filled mostly with useless stuff.

The war room, which could be such a nice tactical perk, is actually absolutely useless as well, and mostly a waste of time.

At most, even if the story is 150% better than what I expect (which I can say is also lacking at this point) I would have to rate this no more than a 7. At this point, until finished I would have to leave it at a 5.5

For a game that is supposed to have a high standard of writing, it doesn't. The plot is generic, many characters have no personality, and your responses are incredibly limited. If you liked how many sidequests in Origins had at least a token decision involved with them, don't make the mistake of expecting that from this game. All sidequests I have encountered so far are fetch quests, taken and turned in with no input from me other than "Do you want this quest? y/n" No decisions or choices to speak of, not even a token dialogue choice that doesn't affect the quest outcome.

I am not going to pretend the game is totally worthless, however. Some (SOME) of the party member dialogue is acceptable, and exploration can be kind of fun. Origins continues to roll in its grave, however.

It is painfully obvious that this is a game made for a console controller, and zero effort was put into adapting the controls over to a mouse and key board. You are forced to move your character with wsad only. Which would be ok, if you could still click and drag to move the battle camera while auto attacking but that ability is gone. There is no ability to bind your own keys and make the controls what you want them to be, there is no click to loot function(so you have to manually WSAD it all over to explore and loot & you have to be right on top of the loot to pick it up. Moving the cam is difficult & annoying. The tactical cam is an after thought environment gets in the way, & does not zoom out far enough to be useful.

I have no idea how any of the critics who demoed this game played on the PC and failed to mention these issues. I bought the digital deluxe version launch day for $79, and it is unplayable.
I loved DA:Origin. This game, as it was released...well it sucks. Not saying it can't be fixed with some major patches, but when its a major release from EA you expect it to work. It is honestly unplayable as it stands. I would give it a negative score if I could for controls alone.

the launch of their multiplayer was actually pretty fun but I had to leave close to 40% of the MP runs (as a result of a key failing to drop, a known bug that has not been resolved). The response rate on the official Bioware forums is very lacking, compared to their personal unofficial subreddit page (meaning they invest more time at the reddit than the official bioware forum). If you are looking for balanced multiplayer experience, this is not your fantasy MP experience.

The story itself is the least compelling it has ever been for the Dragon Age universe. Without spoiling much, it just felt like you were going through the motions. None of your decision actually felt like it mattered. Unlike in Dragon Age origins, you did not have an origin story, a reason that took you to the main event in the game. You were given a Ptarrot card with your background that is very flimsy at best.

The character creation is lackluster for Qunari. You want long hair? No. They give you very short hair, and it looks like an oiled dolls hair from a action figure. They can make the hair of a horse fly up and down with physics as you ride in the wind yet you cannot have living hair as a character?

Looking for good combat? Nope, don't count on your ranged characters to stay where you tell them to stay in combat. They have this "Let's stand in the bad" mentality which costs you your healing potions, one of the only options you have available to recover missing health. They simplified spells down toward glorified archery (drag and drop sure, but your spells will hit barely as hard as the melee hack and slash your rogues and fighters. Reaver crits for 4-5k damage a swing, no spell comes close to this. If you play a mage, plan on being a barrier caster and something else utility because frankly your character is just there to look like he's doing something. Mages used to be a core element in your group since DA:O but not anymore.

Remember the dark setting they had for DA:O? Not so much in this game. political correctness killed anything truly unique about this game aside from the LGBT friendly characters (Which are the only saving grace IMO of the game, the conversations are funny, if they happen.. There is a bug that has yet to be fixed where you can have no dialogue for hours on end).

Myself and I imagine quite a few others felt that this game was truly limited in scope. They promised us quite a bit at E3, "a pc game, for pc gamers". No, the controls are much more friendly console gamers. They limit you to 8 ability slots! Who does that to PC players? Tactical cam! remember that from DA:O and DA:2? How expansive that was, gave you good angles on the battle field. Not in this game. You can only lift maybe 7 feet off the ground. There, you can maybe see two people fighting but the battles usually range out quite a bit if you have flighty despair demons. The controls in tactical camera are not so responsive, AI doesn't seem to know how to remember a command you issued, like "Hold here" does not work at all! 2 seconds later, he's on top of your fighter that has the big dragon breathing in his face.

RNG is a big factor in this game too! 1000 schematics, they don't tell everyone however you have to get your schematics from chests. They all have a low drop rate% too. So good luck crafting that badass set that you were wanting. I thought RNG was supposed to keep players playing longer for games they pay subscriptions too. I did not buy DA to play World of Warcraft. I have that game separate for a reason! You'd think, they wouldn't try to pull this on their fanbase, but they did.

Have a bug? Reporting it on the forums, become ignored for a few months only to get unprofessional responses from the developer team itself. Someone recently flat out called someone who regularly makes videos for them a flat out sneaky liar. She never apologized for that remark. They just shut down the thread and banned the person who had the constructive video of the state of affairs for the multiplayer community.

I will reiterate that the characters in the game are the only saving grace this game has to offer for a true DA:O fan. It's so, stuffy, in Thedas now. A good story should have everything in it, the highs and the lows, as well as the awkward humor that went along with it. Not anymore, and I'm sad to say this company has lost its edge on good story telling. It's a politically correct universe, that feels forced in every sense of the word. I really hope that they go back to their roots in the future, because the next game I get from them, I will be extremely wary of, if at all. I would not recommend this to a friend.

The first few hours feels very much like World of Warcraft to me, and not in a good way.

It feels like the developers packed in as many concepts and areas and quest lines as possible to create a big world, but they ended up with a boring, derivative experience that lacks the wonder and character of Skyrim and some of Bioware's earlier games. I know that the combat is equally disappointing, but I could get over that if they story, characters, and world were immersive, but I have not found them engaging thus far.

I have played through the intro and the first area of the map, and I'm not sure I have ever felt so betrayed by the professional reviews for a game before. However, I suppose I have myself to blame, since I pre-ordered it with optimism retained from memories of Baldur's Gate 1/2, Origins, and Mass Effect 1/2.

The controls are so bad I can't believe they've released it like this. Why? I can't understand it, this was marketed as a tactical combat RPG for us PC people and it is genuinely unplayable with the current control system. When they were trying something new in DAII it was at least fun, they at least told us that it would be different from Origins. With Inquisition, they are trying to do something they'd already mastered!

Even without using the tactical camera, this is barely playable using PC controls. I can't believe that critics haven't seen this as more fundamentally game breaking? What I was expecting to be a refined tactical experience has not turned out that way. I'm struggling to even properly attack, why no auto attack?! Why no click to move? This is basic basic basic! This is Bioware?! What the hell happened? I wanted to spend a hundred hours in this world and everything about the game seems awesome, I'd be ecstatic except for the fact that I can't actually play it.

The plot is horrible, charachters are boring, conversations are tasteless as coal. The combat is another story...it is simple button mashing with no tactical reasoning involved. It is very frustrating because there are no auto-aiming or a auto gap closer which was an okay feature from DA2.

Graphics are okay, but there are no facial expressions or different views.

It feels like a free MMORPG from 2008.

Plus let's not forget about the settings. I tried to set the graphics to have a very decent view without killing my eyes in the process of playing and focusing. But here the problems never stop. When I played 5 min my laptop shut down with no reason. I entered again the after 5 min again shut down. WTF I have a laptop which I payed 4500 Euros for (it has one year since I bought this laptop) and I made it especially for this type of games but after I saw that it shuts down my laptop for now reason I quit the game totally.

For me having a state of the art laptop and it shuts down because of this game is just to ........ .

To end this I saw the reviews and I want to say this: "Guidance from EA" pffff let's not forget what they did to DA2 plus EA is just looking for your money. As long as you give them what they want they do not give a damn about you sorry for the truth. WAKE UP PEOPLE AND STOP SLEEPING. Next gen games - if this is the example then it will collapse the game community totally.

I can hardly believe that this game has high scores but I think the game reviewers where either drunk or drugged or both. Sorry for my bad language but they KILLED THE DA SERIES TOTALLY.

    Dragon Age: Origins - OMG game, amazing story, amazing in all that is amazing;
Dragon Age 2: - big punch in the face of the DA lovers, Hardly to believe everyone says it was a cool game(yeah right)
Dragon Age Inquisition: -big punch in the face and another big punch in the face and another one till the person gets bored of punching you in the face.

GG Bioware to bad that you where bought by a game publishing company that wants to profit from you. Good titles wrong sponsoring company and the baddest company in the history.

PS. EA lovers do not bother by bothering me with your angry reviews cause I am not giving a damn about what you say.

And no, we are not just weird, it is a bad Adaption to PC. The rogue turns the camera randomly on bowshots etc .... I am speaking of RANDOM, so no getting used or something, shots normal and then pouff. Since DAI is te only game hat ever had such Problems ... we don't have to discuss this further, my Computer is fine and reading the critics I see man others have exactly These Problems, so i am not a rare exotic exception. The speechwheel that makes many so happy is inferior to the full phrases in DAO since we often Chose the wrong Options and are shocked that the Phrase is almost the opposite o what we intended to say.

Alo using a cheat for my character really opened the eyes for e, nothing you did in the warroom with the missions mattered for the Story, it just gave items or inquisitionpoints- Disappointing since I always carefully read and choose the politically wisest Option. Many "important" missions like the hissing wastes or empris de Lion are totally irrelevant for the Story. This is a total killer for roleplayers.

The Problem is that EA disappointed hardcore DAO players. We are less after action than after RPG.

However I agree, the graphic and the landscapes are really nice, the Music is great, the voiceactors marvellous, although I was not a fan of the cassandra voice actor. But that is a question of taste.

Nevertheless, I give the game a 1 as a Penalty for cheating customers. EA clearly promised the game to be more like dao than DA2.

What galls me is, this game could be even with a fighting engine I hate a pretty good game, if the quests would matter more and Requisition quests help the Inquisition strategically, if choices like who will govern Orlay would make more difference, if pacify a Region would give you more political weight etc.

The screen zooms out just a few feet above the characters, and you only get a good view of the immediate area. You will have to try to drag the camera around to find the targets and give commands, and it snaps back to the characters making it annoying to have to refind the target.

    Updated Review:

So I bought DA:I for $60 on Origin's 24 hour guarantee. I played it for about 5 hours, loathed it, and returned it, leaving a score of 1 here (with many reasons listed).

Now, after playing it again for 30+ hours, my thoughts have turned around quite a bit.

Instead of go through my previous review, I will try to sum up my feelings at this point:

    1) They did not put a good foot forward for the first, oh, 10 hours or so of the game: boring story-line, dull scenery, dull quests, etc. After you finally get to a point where you have to the "choosing" quest, the game's story line improves dramatically. Once you are able to unlock more than 3 areas, the scenery is greatly diversed as well.

    2) This is still my #1 complaint: they removed the tactics. The AI is NOT smart enough to handle some of the more complicated spells, this should be rectified in a mod.

    3) The attention to detail graphically (textures and meshes) are astounding in some parts: one example are the stone walls, it doesn't matter how close up you get the camera to them, they all look like individual, well textured rocks stacked on top of each other to build a wall. The character work is excellent and high-mesh quality minus the hair, which is rather sad considering the quality of the rest of the people.

    4) #2 main complaint: if you start off with a KB+M, (just like the previous DAs), you will hate this game. It will leave quite an awful taste in your mouth. For PCMRs, the thought of HAVING to use a controller to enjoy a Dragon Age came is just pathetic. Well, I had to get over it, and when I finally did, it was much more enjoyable.

Summary: The primary reason I am going from a 1 to 7 is because this is a good, enjoyable game, but when you combine the awful KB+M with the dull starting story and fetch quests, the neutering of tactics and healing magic and gimped ability trees, it gives an awful first impression for a DA game.

Now, with 30 hours under my belt, I can say it is a worthy successor to the series, although I am still skeptical on whether the combat is going in the right direction (and for hardcore cRPG players, the combat will take 20+ hours before you get used to it).

"Will I play it again? Yes"

    Well I was wrong.... NO

I said in my review below I probably would finish the game. I have not been able to do that. The game is so boring, same thing over and over and over. No flow. It feels like it was a cheap fast way to make a game. If each of the different zones had different quest, and/or a themed storyline it would have been far better. I cant get passed the constant click, click, click battle either.

I no longer need to buy the game for my granddaughter or my son. I let them get on my computer and they played for about a couple of hours each. That's all it took. Both had loved the dragon age series before this.

    ----- REVIEW -----

I have over 40 hours played with this game, and I just had to stop. It became boring. The “different worlds” where the same things over and over. Will I play it again? Yes, in all fairness when I feel like hacking and slashing to pass time, I will.

It's the flow of the game. Dragon Age Origins was fantastic and the flow of the game would always keep you playing. The flow in Dragon Age Inquisition is not there.

As dendygar put it. TO MUCH SKYRIM and NOT ENOUGH ORIGINS.

I give Dragon Age Inquisition a 0/10. I will get to that below. THIS IS MY OPINION.

As a game in itself it plays like a single player MMO. The zones are graphical different but the quest and collections are the same thing. Find Shards, Solve the Astrarium (this is cool, sort of a rip off of Skrym), and numerous other collections. The story basically starts crawling after you get to the war table. If a tedious hack and slash game is what you like then this game is for you. Every zone is repetitive. So for this type of game I would rate it a 5/10, the 5 would be a 7 but the PC Controls are awful.

My breakdown of the game as a sequel to Dragon Age. 0/10

Does not feel like a Dragon Age story at all.

This is not an RPG. It is a single player MMO. As stated above the story crawls after you enter the war room.

Each of the open worlds are beautiful (sword coast ) but they have the same theme as stated above. Collect these, Find these, and solve this.

No Major cities that I have come across yet. Its all open worlds. The only major city is just a place for merchants and has very little area to it. I can not recall the name of it.

Having to scan for object. That is correct in order to find somethings you have to hit a key and scan for them. Some quest like find the wardens do this and the Beer bottle collections? Again this is my opinion I just don't like having to search and scan for things.

The PC interface as stated above is awful. Dragon Age Origins was for the PC. Now it seems EA/Bioware is giving the PC market the back seat.

Mages can no longer heal, instead they have a “wall” like buff. You have to rely on potions.

You no longer get points to put up character stats. Your stats go up according to the skills you pick.

Combat is the same thing over and over. No auto attack so you just sit there and click and click.

Mouse. You can not loot select or do anything with it.

Plastic Hair, Cartoon Portrait HUD and a Green Hand portrait for you. In a realistic world this really takes away from the game. It looks like the ripped the hair textures off an 80s game. Then took maybe a few weeks to make the Party HUD. So you have a cartoonish HUD over a realistic world.

Multi-player is not cooperative, it has nothing to do with the story. You are unable to play through the story with your friend

My girl went down and see me play for a bit and she asked if those are my bodyguards ;) she's not into gaming but that sentence capture the whole feeling of the game I directly control one character manually using all the abilities almost constantly while the rest of the 'team' just do their thing. Additionally I can't really set any meaningful behaviours for example I would like the mage to cast a barier (absorbs damage) not at the begining of the fight as he tends to cast it but 'when character drop below x% of life but nope there is no such thing and this apply to all spells/abilities. All you can do in tactics is set how many potions they can drink and when and how much stamina should they keep reserved...

There is zero tactics so far as you cant even queue orders so if you want your rogue to enter stealth go around the enemy and than use his backstab you have to do it yourself or keep track of where he/she is and issue orders manually and thats just one example.

This game is meant to be played with the controller 100%, pc controls (mouse/keyboard) works somehow in tactical camera but the camera itself is messed up to the point that its just painful to use. The angles you can work with are messed up completely, there is no free cam, you can either zoom max out and see everything from the top (hotline miami) or zoom in and get to the ground in 3rd person view, you cant have the camera up and just change the angle to not be on 90 degree, moving the mouse to the edge of the screen does nothing you have to move the camera around with keys... you dont have to spam the button or hold it to attack as in tactical view you only need to click attack once and the character will keep attacking it until the enemy dies but the way the camera works makes the whole mode very cumbersome and really painful to use. I just gave up on it as I was fighting more with the camera controls than with my enemies.

Game would be awesome if they just implement the free camera and would look amazing if I can just move it around as entirely different entity. I would play the whole game in tac-cam than. The jumping is a fricking gimmick there are **** of invisible walls and you have to jump to get over 2cm objects like small rocks ;/

The first issue I had is the DRM. The DRM is the protection a game uses to keep people from pirating their game. The problem is, people who purchase the game shouldn't notice the DRM. I did because I was unable to play it for the first week after shelling out my $50. I didn't leave a review then because I felt that would be petty.

Once i finally got in, the game was clunky and boring.

Once i finally got in, the game was clunky and boring. Blah, blah, blah, blah.. Something. Something. Something dragons. I have never been so disinterested in an RPG so fast. It was quite impressive how little i cared about whatever EA was trying to portray with their "story". The combat is "okay", but i'm not willing to endure the pointless filler missions to have combat. The writing was also "okay" but unfortunately, it also required that i endure more filler.

R.I.P Dragon Age series. EA is the devil. I remember when I was young and EA was an awesome company that made awesome games. Their first act of evil was monopolizing NFL games so that they could produce piles of crap at a steady rate of once a year at the gamers' expense. Everything that they do is an attempt to maximize their profits. They fail to realize, if you take pride in your product and make sure that your quality is priority, the profits will take care of themselves.

EA sure knows how to kill the things we love in a legal fashion. They should spend less money paying off critics to pretend like their game is good and more money on quality control and experienced developers. I honestly feel like a 2/10 is generous. All we can do now is hope that the project managers and executives at EA die in an awful car crash in which they don't succumb to the initial impact but succumb to the fire.

Then inventory interface. Ah, the old days, when a boxy square of squares could show you instantly what you have.

Not this time. You will have set of symbols, you will click one of them, then you will drag down a list. then, and only then will you see - and only a few items at a time, what you have. The comparisons of similar weapons is nice, but I want to do this in a few clicks. I am not interested in faffing around with this.

Do developers need to justify their existence by making it more complicated than it needs to be? I've played so many of these games for so long, that repetitive strain is now an painful reality. It limits the amount of time I can play games now. I resent every extra click, every extra key that isn't needed, and folks, this is by far the very worst game I have played for this. It is, literally wasting my time.

It is pretty, but it is empty. It is not open world, it is badly written, the dialogue is random. I was delighted to see Varric, hoping for some wit, at least. But no.

Might be ok for non pc players who want good graphics and fun without gum, but heh, some of us wanted what Origins had. Plot, characters, wit, fun, and an interface that didn't make your hand hurt after a few hours of use.

Should really come with a health warning. Will ruin hand, will bore to tears. Will crush with disappointment.

Really would not have preordered this, but at least I have learnt something. Won't be doing it again.

I would realy love to enjoy DAI, but I can hardly force myself to play it due to the abysmal PC controls. They really break the game!

The problem is: The current controls make it impossible to play the game in a similar fashion as DAO or Baldurs Gate. The game forces you to play a single character and let the AI control all other. That's not what Dragon Age stands for.
"But what about the tactical view?", you might ask. Well - it simply doesn't work.

Tactical view has extremely bad controls, especially indoors. You can't zoom out further than the ceiling, which is approx. 10 feet above the ground. If your lucky, you might even arrange the camera so well that you see 2 enemies at once *rolleyes* But it gets even worse: Once you somehow managed to get a good view of the enemies you face, you can only order a single enemy to attack. You can't select your entire party at once. And the moment you switch to another char, the camera resets a focuses on the selcted char. This is extremely stupid, because you need to click on enemies to attack, not on your party members!

The tutorial already shows the worst of this system:
Attacking 3 enemies in a cave from outside in a coordinated manner takes dozens of clicks in tacview. It's plain stupid, but see for yourself:

    - Switch to tactical view.
    - Bring camera focus into cave, try to somehow find an acceptable position.
    - Order your main char to attack
    - Switch to second char - camera resets
    - Find acceptable camera position again
    - Order second char to atatck
    - Switch to third char - camera resets
    - try to find acceptable camera position again
    - Order third char to attack
    - Switch to fourth char - camera resets again
    - Find acceptable camera position yet again
    - Order final char to attack

But that's not all: Once your chars used their abailities as you ordered them, they continue doing what they want. If you want to follow with a second round of well-chosen abilities, you have to repeat all the above!!!

In DAO or BG, the camera didn't reset after switching chars. You could keep your focus on the enemy and activate ability after ability. You cound also select multiple chars at once, making things much easier.

I don't know why they destroyed a system that worked awesomely for decades.

I also tried to view the gae differently, see it more as a relative of Mass Effect (where the party members were intentionally AI-controlled). But it doesn't work either!

The game simply doesn't have the "feel" of natural third person games like Mass Effect or the Witcher 2. Normal attacks are boring, they don't have the dynamic feeling of sword strikes in Skyrim or The Witcher. You simply hold the mouse button to attack- no timing of individual strikes, no dodging, no nothing. Just trying to keep your char facing toward the enemy.

I'm extremely disappointed. I'll continue trying to get into the game, but I doubt I'll be able to before something changes.
My score may sound harsh, but until this issue is fixed, i can't enjoy any other aspect of the game.

Quests are one at a time and must be completed in a particular order. Combat is about mouse clicks. The faster you click, the more you shoot (or swing a weapon, depending on your class). Like all arcade shooters, you find power-ups, er, I mean, health potions as you go. The camera never gets very close. At best it hangs well behind your character, which makes the game feel distant and impersonal. It's not role-playing at all, but a primitive arcade shooter. On a positive note, good graphics. Expand

I've put about 10 hours into the PC version game and I really don't see myself spending much more. Much like many other's reviews, I really dislike the controls. It shouldn't be a chore to loot a corpse (if you even happen to notice that there was loot left behind).

There's nothing fluid about the UI at all. The weapon/armor upgrade system is confusing as hell.

Maybe I'm splitting hairs but the skill tree doesn't feel exciting. The fact that I can fully upgrade a skill to its maximum potential within the first couple of skill points I am given just feels wrong.

I picked a Mage character.. and the majority of the time in combat is spent waiting for my hotbutton skills to be active. I gave up on "auto attacking" way before. Besides, who has time to auto attack when you are trying to position the camera to see if a rift can be 'disrupted' for the 18th time before it closes?

Have to agree with others that this might be better on console, and was likely designed FOR console. But I am wishing I could get my money back.

A complete run of the game will take you something like 120 hours. 100+ hours of that will be travel time and bunny hopping trying to reach locations. Almost all of the remaining time is spent wrestling with the game's combat system--companions running into walls the entire fight, squishy companions dropping everything they're doing to run into melee with the big bad enemy, inaccurate targeting of AoE spells, companions having no clue how to utilize any of the abilities you've given them, etc... This game has NONE of the tactics options we loved so much in DAO and DA2 and it's...horrible. Almost as bad, there's no real difficulty to any of the enemies; you can 1-shot the "hardest" hidden boss in the game on the highest difficulty with tragic ease starting at a pretty low level. Because there's a lack of proper design for fights, all the difficulty is cheesy artificial difficulty (dealing with bugs, dealing with bad AI) and the same holds for most of the tactics you can use.

Even if this game had the best story and characters in the history of gaming--which isn't remotely the case as the writing is mostly disappointing--99% or so if your playing experience would still be this horrible, chore-like gameplay. And the fact that so many professional reviewers completely ignore the game's extremely obvious shortcomings while they jumped on the flaws of DA2 and Jade Empire, controversial games that I think were both better than DAI, is a travesty. And bespeaks horrible incompetence.

It's a complete snooze fest, you basically either just spam-click or hold the attack button. I've got about 13 hours wasted on this game and not once was I entertained in combat. Your AI companions need constant hand-holding to not get themselves killed, the tactical cam is useless.. the controls are just horrible. Don't get me started on looting, like REALLY BioWare?

I would not recommend this game to anyone, ever. And shame on all the "critics".. obviously all of them were paid off. It's like taking a bite of cardboard and saying it tastes good. You're either a liar or an idiot.

AVOID LIKE THE PLAGUE. BioWare is now officially a joke and if you buy their next game you deserve the pile of **** you get for your hard earned cash.

First time I ever write a review of any game since I first sat down in front of a PC (1992)
However, when you wait years for, what suppose to be, one the best game you ever played, and it turn out to be complete rubbish I feel I have to write atleast something.
If you plan to play this on PC, rethink or at least wait until Bioware makes some changes (as they just told us they are).

This is without any doubt the biggest disappointment in my 20+ years of gaming.

I was hoping DA:I was going to be a marriage between the two, great game play couple with engaging story, characters, and dialogue.

I play on a high end PC, and have played about 15-20 hours so far, keep that in mind with my review.

    Graphics:
The graphics are a mixed bag. The world graphics are good, but nothing special, more or less what you would expect a 2014 AAA world to look like. I was neither awestruck, nor distracted by a negative reaction.
    World Graphics: 5

The character graphics are another matter entirely. What is with the plastic hair? How did professional reviewers, who were gaga about character creation miss the plastic hair? Is it dishonesty? Bad taste? Does the game not like my graphics card? THE MODELS' HAIR ARE PLASTIC!!! It's like looking at a combination of a 1980's action figure and a Mr Potato Head.
    Character Graphics 0

    Graphics overall: 2.5

    Story:
No spoilers, fear not. First off, where to begin at how bad this is? The disjointed nonsensical story line? The complete and utter lack of believability (and this in a game with magic and monsters)? The flat one dimensional characters? Or to me, the most disappointing of all, the atrocious dialogue, which used to be the hallmark of the Dragon Age series. Seriously, did they find a C minus film school undergrad to write this stuff? Is Michael Bay moonlighting as a screenwriter for video games? "Heyyyy sh$t blew up, what a story!"

The base story elements are there, and maybe that's what has me so cranky, this should have been amazing, but the execution is so clumsy and ham-handed it stymies the belief.

That brings me to the biggest disappointment of all, the inter-party dynamics. The dialogue as mentioned above is horrible, both in cut scenes, dialogue choices, but most of all the inter-party banter. In the old games it made sense, was entertaining, and made you feel like you were with a group of friends - even if they weren't getting along well all the time.

This game though, has all the charm of riding through Pirates of the Caribbean for the 5th time.
Story: 0 (and that really hurt to type)

    Gameplay:
Tried it with mouse and keyboard. Tried it with a Dual Shock 4 controller. Fail. Character and camera controls are mushy and non-responsive. Choosing targets in a fight is awkward, and combat quickly devolves into a keyboard mash.
    Controls: 1

Combat feels like a sluggish, uninteresting version DA:2 which I thought was pretty weak to begin with. The game compensates this by throwing a lot of combat in the game. A LOT. Oh and just when you thought an area was cleared, there is a nearly instantaneous respawn. Did I mention that there was a lot of combat? oh, and controlling the party in a fight is so awkward and confusing I gave up even trying.
    Combat: 0

What about the non-combat part of the game, like managing your stronghold and army? The war room? I honestly haven't felt their impact on gameplay 15-20 hours in. I've run missions to help things out, but it just doesn't seem to feel like I'm changing the direction of much of anything yet. That includes the story, the army, the base, whatever. I'm leaving this as incomplete, as I'm hoping things change moving forward.

So far I have little or no connection to anything in the game, not even my own character. I cared about the Grey Warden in DA:O and really cared about Hawke and his family in DA:2. In this game, there is nothing. I'm giving this a 1 since it runs and hasn't crashed and is playable, but it certainly doesn't have the heart, soul, or technical execution of the first two entries of the series.

Bout time we get something interesting going on here.... NOPE! 1 hour later and 3 more lost messages delivered and you start to wonder if every single thing around you is just lame filler. I mean at least skyrim had actual real quests for you. This just screams out tacky mmo while you're playing it. It's so sad.

If you thought that was bad, there are bigger problems with the tactical camera. It doesn't zoom out far enough and you cannot adjust the angle of it at all the more you zoom out. It's retarded, origins tac cam was way superior than this. It's just awful... The A.I custom controls are also inferior in regards to dragon age inquisition.

As of righting this I am seriously considering getting a refund while I still can. I'm not sure if its even worth it to continue playing this.

I bought this game thinking I would be getting a great tactical pc game like previous in the franchise. Instead I got a console port of a button masher. There's little strategy in combat now. Just run in and let your team cream while spamming attack button. So disappointing. Guess I won't bother with the next mass effect either.

Graphics ok. Story bit lacklustre so far at 6 hours in.

    I would like to start the review with the pro's of the game;
-It has amazing graphics, I played it on PC, maxed it out and I thought it looked amazing.
-The characters are pretty interesting, personally I only like Blackwall, Dorian and Varric, the rest just weren't my sort of companions if that makes any sense.
-A large amount of the story is rather interesting. (Expanded in cons section)
-The soundtrack is completely amazing, the tavern songs are really well done.

    And now to list some of the cons, keep in mind that some of this relates to PC and may not be a problem on console versions of the game;
-The tactical camera controls are completely and utterly terrible. End Of. There's nothing to say about this, you have to hold both mouse buttons to move the camera.
-Your decisions do not impact the outcome of the game AT ALL, I decided to put this in here as a big point of marketing for this game was 'Your decisions matter', to elaborate on this, no matter what decisions you make your ending will pretty much be the same, the only thing that will change is some extra or less quests and the epilogue narrative.
-Horses are rather terrible, they do not feel very fast and they're more like skyrim horses (going up near vertical cliff sides).
-A lot of the side quests are rather terrible (Note: I am NOT talking about companion quests, I thought those were rather well done), eg. the monotonous gathering of random things (Such as 30-90 different plants to upgrade a part of skyhold)
-The port is rather terribly optimized, it does not do well with SLI set-ups (flickering textures, stuttering cutscenes, which were also locked at 30 fps, otherwise I only managed to get 40-50fps on near max settings with a GTX690).
-The story feels really rushed near the ending, the first half of the story really intrigued me and felt very interesting, but after a certain point (3/4 of the way in~) I felt like the story just lost all meaning and just wanted me to finish playing.

Now that i listed pros and cons I'll try to explain my reasoning behind some of them. Also keep in mind that these are my opinions, although I will try to give a summary at the end without mentioning my personal feelings towards the game. Firstly, Bioware has done something completely new, or at least that is how it feels, DA:I does not feel like DA:O and DA2 did. It is open-world so that is a large part of it but also the huge numbers of pointless quests, none of the companions drew me in like in the other games (Morrigan, Oghren, Leliana, Alistair in DA:O and Isabela, Merill and Varric in DA2). There are some people that are saying this isn't a valid complaint as 'Oh this isn't supposed to be DA:O2, it's DA:I', and while I agree to some extent, this isn't a new IP, this is a sequel to the Dragon Age series, it's supposed to feel like a Dragon Age game. Also, a few of the characters' personalities changed a huge amount from DAO and DA2 to this game. Cassandra suddenly becomes really sensitive to your cause and doesn't seem like the strong 'seeker/commander' (Idk) that she was presented as in DA2, Morrigan becomes all attached (If you romaned her in DA:O) and says things I definitely wouldn't think her saying. And Leliana becomes the heartless spy who 'does all the things noone else will do', coming from her 'religious' and caring personality of DA:O. The choices!, while they do feel important (I couldn't decide what to do when leaving the Fade) and some are heartbreaking, do not matter, no matter what you choose, you still go and kill Corypheus without the help of your army, just your part vs him, it doesn't matter who you rescued or helped in order for them to join the Inquisition, they won't be there to join you in battle. That part really made me feel like all my decisions in the game were pointless, since the only thing they change is the epilogue narrative. MAJOR SPOILERS AHEAD: If you decide for Hawke to leave the fade with you, he simply leaves to go somewhere for the rest of the game, after trying to decide for 10-15mins on who should stay behind, they leave anyway. Lastly the controls are really weird, the complete removal of auto attacking (you have to hold a button in order to attack, if the enemy runs away, tough luck as you're going to be standing in one spot unless you're holding the forward key) and the terrible tac cam, but after a little while I got used to some of the controls it felt a little better. Lastly I want to mentioned the inability to be a sarcastic **** all the time, there are 'humorous' chat options, but they are nowhere as good as DA2, which made me love Hawke even though I disliked the setting/repetitiveness.

TL;DR I think the game is rather good IF you want to play another skyrim-eque game, it does not have a lot of the elements that made DA:O and DA2 stand out. It has much more issues than good things about

While the story itself is ok, the way it is told is much below what it used to be in ME and DE. First of all, they took away your charismatic ability to influence stuff. You just have 3 options to choose from, and they usually don't matter. As far as I can see, there is only one ending, and the story that leads to it is mostly linear too (besides the open terrain with repetitive quests (lots of fetch x of something))

Savegame import is now exclusively via their website. You may or may not like this, but bioware doesn't give a **** about you. The same attitude goes if you want to play the game in a language other than the one where you bought it in (like, in english). Tough luck. In fact they go out of their way to make it difficult for you to do so.

Than there is the Command Center, which is a place where you must go to unlock some next quests. The problem with that is that you never know when you are supposed to go to the Center and you often feel "hanging"

I would venture to say that this is the worst bioware game. Ever

If I were to review it from that standard, it is probably the best of that type of game. But as a true successor to Dragon Age Origins it is an utter and complete failure. I am a fan of DA:O and that is why it hurts me so much to see how much work Bioware put into this steaming pile. I'm sorry Bioware, you have abandoned your base to produce EA Crap TM. Please keep in mind that the only reason you are selling a lot of this game is because of the goodwill generated by Dragon Age Origins. You have failed us with this release. I hope all the new people your game design brings you is enough to support you building more of this kind of crap. Because I'm not supporting you any more. And I suspect I'm not the only one.

To quote the immortal Scotty, "There's an old, old saying on Earth, Mister Sulu. Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me."

To those of you who believe this review is too harsh, that it is a great game, and I should enjoy it for what it is, instead of what it is not; you are right. I'll probably finishing the game, but I'll be setting it to easy to get through it, since there is very little to savor and no point in drawing out the experience. I just wish I had waited a couple months to purchase it for $10.00.

So to summarize: If you want a console game to hack through bad guys with the occasional cut scene, this game is for you, and probably a 9. If you want something thoughtful, intelligent, with a deep plot, developed characters you feel connected to, and interesting content, this game isn't for you, and is probably a 3. I'm surprised Jar Jar didn't have a cameo.

P.S. Nice review DragonKnight, I couldn't agree with you more.

PPS Ok, I read through my review and decided it was a little too negative. Dragon Age Inquisition is a fair game. I'm going to play it through because I love the Dragon Age World, but I doubt I will forgive Bioware for turning something epic into something pathetic.

PPPS Ok, I forgot to mention all kinds of bugs, bugs are to be expected I suppose, but there are many glaring bugs. I've had to restart my game completely because of one, had to exit and log back in for a couple, and been able to ignore the rest, mostly.

Do we really need 8 GB of RAM and high end CPU and Video Card to display low resolution, console optimized, textures and have to put up with low and inconsistent frame rates? Come on EA, a PC can do a lot more than a console.

Story Dialogues and characters could have use a lot more development. Right now they're plain idiotic at times and I doubt they will ever do something about it.

What's with all the MMO functionality like level based mobs/areas, resources/mob grinding, boring anoying filler quests, constantly respawning mobs and other stuff thrown at random? This is a single player RPG, we're not playing a subscription based MMORPG.

The entire tactical system is broken, don't bother to assign commands to your team, they will forget them or get stuck. The camera is too close and trees, roofs and other objects will get in the way. Not to mention that you can no longer pause the game at any time to assign orders and tactics...

Where is the open world that was promissed? I'm not really annoyed by this but having several enlarged areas and the only way to got from one to another being jumping using the world map or special transition points does not qualify as an open world. Skyrim got this right from the first time.

Mouse and keyboard controlls are a disaster and there is no way I'm buying a Xbox gamepad just for this game (it doesn't recognize any other controllers on a PC, go figure...). Emulating a Xbox gamepad using some random mouse/keyboard keys and movements is not going to work.

You have move your character every inch and you have to spam the R key or click all the time because they removed the mouse based auto-attack functionaliy (just becauuse consoles don't use mice anyway, right EA?)

You want to move from one place to another and clicked on your destination in vain? Well, bad luck, now you have to navigate the character every inch of the way. The auto-movement system is completely gone.

Remember when you could just click on some loot and the character would walk to it and well..loot it? well bad luck, that's gone, right now you have to actively walk to the desired item and if you are not almost on top of it you can't loot it...nice work EA.

The mouse is practically useless, can't use it to select npc's, can't use it to target, and things go on like this forever, just because consoles don't use mice....

Can't see the loot/objectives in the area or assign a key for this, you have to constantly "ping" the nearby area by spamming the V key (or whatever key you assign for this) and run around just to be sure you don't miss anything. (After all consoles don't use keyboards, right EA)

In previous games the mini-map was displaying the general layout of the nearby area, now it's just a transparent mess with some icons on it.

The area map is useless at this point. In DA:O and DA2 you could actually use it to find your way, something that is almost impossible now.

The UI is 100% optimized for consoles, lots of deep nested menus for inventory, talents, etc. You can't even assign stats points anymore.

Last time I ever buy a EA game, (DA:O was fantastic, I even liked DA2) but after wasting 60 euros on this poor excuse of a game and having been refused a refund I'm done with EA games.

I've figured it out. It took me several days, and roughly 39 hours of gameplay to finally know the best way to describe DA:I, as I was slightly unhappy with my previous reviews. DA:I is Pac-Man. I've figured it out. It took me several days, and roughly 39 hours of gameplay to finally know the best way to describe DA:I, as I was slightly unhappy with my previous reviews. DA:I is Pac-Man. I know what you're thinking: "Did he seriously just compare an action RPG, filled with quests, characters, and story, a game released late 2014, to Pac-Man?" Yes, I did. Think about it.

You are Pac-Man; the maze-like setting of Pac-Man represents the "open world" filled with mountains, fallen trees, boulders, lakes, and such that you have to go around; the ghosts represent enemies (which, if you're like me, you usually avoid because the loot and experience isn't worth fighting consta-respawning enemies for); the pellets represent the quests (going around collecting things for no particular reason other than it's a part of the game); the power pellets represent the few times you do want, or have, to fight; points are experience; fruit is loot; new stages are new areas with more challenging monsters; and last, but not least, the world feels dead with an enormous lack of NPC interaction. The major difference is that all of this is more than acceptable in Pac-Man.

But this is Dragon Age. This is BioWare. If I wanted to play Pac-Man, I would play Pac-Man. I want to play an RPG with all the charm that I love in previous BioWare games. I want to get quests from people who have an interesting story/reason for wanting you to do their not-collection quest. I want to go up to a dwarf named Worthy and tell him he has an ironic name because it's ****ing hilarious. I did not get what I want.
I wanted so badly to love this game. I don't have much money, so I can only buy a new game every so often, and against Shadows of Mordor, against Divinity: Original Sin, various other titles that look interesting and got really high user reviews, I put my money on a brand new, no price drop BioWare, my first love. I can't stand the fact that 10-raters are calling low-raters mainstream haters and whatnot in an attempt to devalue our opinion. No, I did not get this game to hate it. I do everything in my power to love the games I buy. I even managed to find something I greatly enjoyed about DA2 (The humor was amazing. Just amazing.), the first DA letdown. I can't find anything in this game. The quests, the characters, everything is so awful. Waste of money. Dragon Age: Disappointment.

Also, a note to another reviewer (and anyone who thinks like him/her), who compared reviewing a game with this much "content" *COUGH* after only 10 hours of play to reading 20 pages of a much longer book.... That comparison would work if the game actually had content. Imagine reading the first 15 pages of that book, and it's fairly decent, though not great by any means. Then on page 16, the author suddenly decides to go 'Hey, so I know you're reading my book, but I just felt like I wanted to type random nonsense in here for a while. Don't worry, there will be a bit more plot in 30 or so pages (which you can't skip to because magic, btw), but for now I'm just going to type nothing about nothing. Except it's not nothing. Because, you know, it exists, therefore it's something. Right? I've gone and confused myself, I think. Probably because I'm a bit of an idiot who used to write great books, then somehow started writing this terrible thing. Well anyway, how are you? Oh wait, you can't answer because you're reading. It would be neat if you could though. Blahblahblahblahblahblah......................................................." Once you've played 10 hours, you know exactly what's coming up next: More collection quests, a bit of badly written story here and there, maybe a new, only somewhat interesting party member to talk to for 3 minutes, etc. This coming from a guy who has made it far enough into the game to know this is fact, not just educated guessing.

The game is boring. Still no idea how people can possibly rate it over a 5.

The controls are clunky, the character animations are horrible, the cutscenes stutter and lag, and the combat is nothing more than a button mashing grind. It had the feel of a single player MMO. After 12 hours I couldn't play anymore. When I heard about Inquisition I said "there's no way it can be worse than DA2 so it will be fine." Sadly I was wrong. I'd much rather player DA2 than this mess of a game. Bioware is officially dead and I will no longer buy their games. Expand

After the debacle of Dragon Age II, I didn't think that Bioware could mess up combat to a greater extent. Then they gave us Inquisition, boy was I wrong. If you plan on playing on a PC either 1. Give up. 2. Buy a gamepad. The PC controls are clearly a half-assed console port which make no sense at all if you are trying to use a mouse/keyboard.

Despite its problems at the launch day when it was unplayable for me, it turned out to be a very good game. I still don't like its combat mechanics and PC control scheme (forced me to play on a gamepad), but other than that, it is pretty solid. The story is good, so are the companions. Presentation is nice. I've spent about 150 hours playing, that clearly stands for something.

Broken camera, terrible controls and laughable tactical combat mode.
This game is a mockery to PC gamers.

This is another example of why you shouldn't get anything from EA.
CD Projekt is the only company that makes worthy PC RPG titles, I'll be waiting for the Witcher 3.

PC controls are fine. Play with a controller.

Warning: Bad dialog, terrible, childish writing. It's almost like they're trying to get the Nintendo demographic with this one. Warning: Bad dialog, terrible, childish writing. It's almost like they're trying to get the Nintendo demographic with this one. Naugthy little kids who want to have homosexual relationships that'll make them giggle in-game. I've made my character homosexual in Mass Effect, but from the onset here, even before the game has really started to develop, it seems obvious who they're making out to be love interests and it's obvious whether they want them to be gay, straight, or bisexual. Lastly, the writing really is truly terrible. Dragon Age Origin's writing and dialog were boring, but not this bad. Not sure I've ever played a game with writing this bad and I've been gaming since Atari and Vectrex.

I'll update this with only a slightly more mature review after about 20-30 hours of gameplay. Right now, it's a recommendation to save your money. Angry Joe and the lot of them have been paid off. Trust me, I don't blame them. You're a small time gamer who just wanted to vent and make friends. He meant to stay honest, but if he could make $50,000 a year just doing a few corrupt reviews a year, the marketing departments for EA, Ubisoft, Activision or whoever can save a little money and Joe doesn't have to worry about starving. Maybe he'll just do paid reviews for a living. Buy a house. Unfortunately that means he's no longer the people's champ.

Final Edit: I woke up yesterday around 6 and gave myself until noon to find something interesting about the game. That's more than enough time. Instead, time just poured by without even so much as an interesting quest or bit of dialog. So I'm done.

I still disagree there is anything wrong with the action, menus, or anything. Technically the game is fine and it's fairly obvious this is the game that was intended to be released. It's polished how they wanted it. It's an MMO, but a single player one but lacking the charm of how Bethesda does it. This game in no way seems to be related to competing with the Witcher other than enhanced graphics and larger world. This is an online MMO competitor/Skyrim competitor. It could be considered a Diablo 3 competitor if only the online component were allowed for 100% of the game, with single player only required for party banter and a side quest or two. As it stands, it's just really boring in pretty much every way. You could say mediocre mainly because nothing is essentially broken.

This section is for PC reviews.

I wish people would stop coming in here, extolling the game and then give a 8/9/10 after revealing they are playing on one of the consuls.

I think people who are coming here and giving the game a good rating after having played on another platform are younger players who don't really understand about the qualities that a genuine RPG should have.

You would think a game with a critic Metascore of 87 would be pretty promising. But it is once again like Dragon Age 2 where the critics were obviously paid for their 10/10 reviews they gave when the user reviews gave it a 4.3 (I remember when it was once at a 2.3 at a certain point.) For me, a game with just mediocre, 'casual friendly' combat and poor writing really seals the deal that this game was not worth the purchase. How this game got so much hype and praise is beyond me. This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. After the possible dire consequences at the close of Mass Effect 2 and DA:Origins, followed by the travesty of ME3, BioWare played it ultra safe with the conclusion of DA:I.

The 60+ hours I put into playing had my imagination ramping up wildly, with no specific expectations for what would happen, but envisioning countless possibilities for what could happen. When reaching the end, it left me with a "that's it?" moment of confusion, then a feeling of hollowness when considering how little your characters and your related interactions play into the climactic moments.

Even ignoring the lack of player's choices and interactions impacting the closing moments, the crushing moment was that there really is no events or moments offered to be impacted. No turmoil, no internal struggle, no 2nd guessing any motivation/action/intention/alliance/etc that took place up to that point. A final battle in a bubble, isolated and shallow.

Everything up till then though? Pretty fantastic, an amazing accomplishment on BioWare's part, but I would have traded it all in for one jaw-dropping moment and tough choice before the denouement.

Disappointed in the game and refunded. If I wasn't able to refund then maybe I'd be more upset. This game was definitely designed for consoles like Skyrim sadly... The attacking is clunky when it comes to targeting enemies. Again, it seems as if they did this for console players and us PC players have to pay the price. I never got farther in than 2 or 3 hours before I requested the refund, so I can't give my opinion on whether or not the dialogue/story is good. I never used tactical view (I never used it in DAO either) so I can't give my opinion on that. Overall? I won't be buying the game again until it reaches about 30 bucks on those cheap CD key websites because I honestly don't think it's worth it. I really am disappointed with the game and won't be getting it. I'd recommended waiting a month or two for (hopefully) patches to make it more of a PC game like DAO was. Expand

As mentioned by other users, the marketing department at Bioware did a great job, I also pre ordered the game. After only 5 hours of gameplay I can say that the game controls were thought only targeting consoles and / or use of joystick: the use of keyboard and mouse set is bad (even after spending an hour remapping commands); many camera issues (there is no "free look" with the mouse, the camera does not turn as you move the mouse left / right / up / down, it is necessary to press the right mouse button); lack of auto attack command / collection / open (you must go to the enemy / object / door and click on it, in case the enemies you need to stay close and hold the left mouse button to keep attacking if the enemy is knocked out or thrown backward, you must again move next to it and "restart" the fight); does not allow remapping of mouse buttons; lack of zoom when using the camera tactic; is not possible to remap the buttons on the joystick (the only way to play is with a joystick, it is possible to walk and change the vision of the camera together); the use of keyboard and mouse set is REALLY bad ( Diablo 3 despite several flaws possessed a unique combat system for PC and one for consoles)... adding to the fact the game display various performance drops (my configuration is i7 4770k / MSI GTX 780 Ti / Memory 16 gb, I play in high quality with various graphics options on Medium); uninteresting story and an oversimplification in terms of RPG (for easy access to people who do not Likes RPG!?!... several great options for configuration of gameplay and behavior of the characters they had in previous games were just thrown in the trash to facilitate the 'accessibility'... there are no healing spells and regeneration, just staying creating "shell" (barrier) and drinking potions all the time) ... Unfortunately I will have to request a refund and return to play Dragon Age Origins ... WHY BIOWARE!?! WHY LAUNCH AN UNFINISHED PRODUCT JUST FOR LAUNCH BEFORE "THE WITCHER 3" ... IS THE SAME STORY OF BF4 AND COD GHOSTS AGAIN!!! Expand

Despite numerous shortcomings, the new BioWare project is undoubtedly worth your attention. One of the best RPGs of 2014.
