    I was so bored of FPS. But doom eternal is an absolute delight. Only issue i have with the game is the crashing....Devs...you have made an absolute gem.

    Truly the best fps I've ever played. The environment, the enemies, the combat and it's all tied together with the best video game soundtrack that has ever graced this earth.

    Oh my god.... So this game is great. its fun and just enjoyable really working upon what DOOM (2016) laid down. But god, oh holy great one this game can get hard. im trying out a %100 Nightmare run and im losing my mind. and im gonna try Ultra Nightmare that is nightmare but one life the whole time. i dont know why im commiting so much but i must.

    Everything that I could I've asked from a DOOM game and much more. In this era of corporate greed and games destroyed by p2w and toxic multiplayer there is one who middle fingers them and proves once in for all that singleplayer is still relevant.

    This is, by far, the best FPS I've ever played! So much action and entertainment that I never want to stop playing. Lots of quick thinking and some problem/puzzle solving, both creating an amazing game; it has to be one of my favorites. Would 100% recommend to everyone!

    I think this game is a masterpiece. It's absolutely gorgeous to look at, hectic to play and so cleverly designed. From one point-of-view, the entire game seems to be one gradually paced tutorial in how to become the ultimate Doomslayer; being able to utilise all of his extensive capabilities to annihilate demon scum at a frenetic pace without getting bruised. You will get bruised learningI think this game is a masterpiece. It's absolutely gorgeous to look at, hectic to play and so cleverly designed. From one point-of-view, the entire game seems to be one gradually paced tutorial in how to become the ultimate Doomslayer; being able to utilise all of his extensive capabilities to annihilate demon scum at a frenetic pace without getting bruised. You will get bruised learning how to do this, but by the end your competence in abilities will have you zipping around in a blur like an unstoppable, godlike killing machine with the viscera of your slain foes raining down around you in a mist of blood, giblets and fireballs. It's everything Doom should be. The Doomslayer is such a baddass, and he makes you want to become the baddest badass you can be, and that's the whole point. There is no action shooter in the same class as this, that I've come across. The soundtrack is perfect, there is a lot of depth to mods and upgrades and limitless replayability with hunting secrets, achievements and unlocking abilities of many, many flavors. Platforming elements have been introduced which serve well to add a new dynamic to the gameplay. I found this game to be a little intimidating at first, but stick with it and you will understand why it's so great. I also find it more enjoyable and less frustrating than it's precursor.… Expand

The Gameplay: Faster and more challenging. The Weapons: Super satisfiying and immensely powerful. The Music: You already know has amazing it is. In every way, it's a step up from Doom 2016, and then some. But come with a warning, itDoom Eternal is one of the best games I've ever played, and I've played a lot of them. Coming from 2016 Doom, it's basically just makes EVERYTHING better. The Gameplay: Faster and more challenging. The Weapons: Super satisfiying and immensely powerful.     The Music, Gameplay and map design seamlessly mix together to create the Video Game experience equivalent to an upper. Probably one of the best first person shooters ever. Everything is perfect, gameplay, aesthetic, exploration, lore, story. Doom is still the king of FPS games.

I just received the game not long ago and the amount of fun is enormous. From my perpective 10/10 in the case of gameplay. Story ? maybe 8/10 or 8.5/10 its good . But the doom is more about the action then story . Story is there to add climate.… Expand

One of the absolute worst games thats been released in a long time, a blot on the legacy of Doom and the (formerly) good reputations of both Id Software and Bethesda Games. If you expect anything of value or any shreds of entertainment to be had from this game. An absolute slog at best, complete sewage at worst its shocking that something of this quality can be released in this golden age of gaming. Boring, bland, bothersome gameplay, that punishes the player for trying anything outside of the hardset limits the game has in place. Why they did this? I can't even imagine why, maybe to appeal to older games who have gotten slow and stupid in their advanced age or young kids that can barely count to 3 yet but the design choice is truly appalling and downright insulting to the average gamer. A drastic decrease in weapon and enemy variety from past releases, the same imps and cacodemons either reskinned or outright reused in parts of the game you'd hope for something fresh. I'm talking 20 hours in and its the same enemies you're expected to be tackled in the same way. The bosses suffer from this problem too, the same cyberdemons or barons of hell barely sized up and maybe with a new coat of paint dropped in almost at random seemingly just to pad the game out instead of testing the players skills (something they realized they wouldn't need to do, due to the redundant gameplay i mentioned earlier). The graphics are a major step back in terms of quality. Doom 2016 looks lightyears ahead in terms of quality, shoddy texture work, low poly models and atrociously bad animations, the absolutely rushed state of the game is on full display in an area you expect even the most lackluster of games in this current generation to at least somewhat succeed in. In terms of weapon variety, as I mentioned earlier, severely lacking in variety. Only 3 weapons available in the entirety of the game, one being a hidden reward from a boring collectathon sidequest and even then not worth the time to unlock it, as I've already explained at length how the game punishes any variety. The HUD and UI is laughably bad, looking like it was designed in some cheap knockoff of photoshop, barely conveying any information regarding damage or the status of your character to the player, as well as cluttering the screen with useless text and effects. Speaking of the character, Doomguys design is an extreme downgrade from past titles. In a cheap attempt to capture nostalgia from past games it just comes off as being an homage to the artwork of Tom of Finland. Gaudy and grotesquely built its a slap in the face to human anatomy and good character design across so many other games. The art direction of the entire game feels this way, definitely not aided by the low quality graphics. Going from gross and gory, to extravagantly bland, I'd hate to see what the concept art was like if whats on display in the final game looks this bad. One would expect sprawling scenic environments of a real hell on earth, all that you get greeted with is a low poly 4 year olds idea of hell. The story is truly the crown jewel of just how bad this game gets. Nonsensical boring dialogue, lengthy drab cutscenes and retcons of the worst degree are just some of the gems in store for you if you pick this game up. The character of Samual Hayden has been absolutely mangled, going from proud noble futurist scientist, to disturbed, almost child predator creep. His weird obsession with the frighteningly young intern character reflects a strange creative choice by the devs, to the point I almost believe someone on the writing team was projecting their own desires on this cast of characters. The character of Doomguy truly got the brunt of these bad decisions. The cool, restrained, angry demeanor presented in 2016 has been completely replaced with this psychopathic, enraged persona that isn't helped by the awful voice acting, that I can only guess was provided by some bum on the street they hired to record his lines. The voice acting problem is reflected on the entirety of the extensive new cast of characters but is notably bad for Doomguy. The story is completely incoherent with timeskipping and constant planet hopping that would put the modern Star Wars movies to shame. The twist that the Dark Lord thats been hyped up the entire game being Doomguy from an alternate timeline comes out of complete left field, due to the amount of hilariously bad red herrings and false twists I almost feel must have been left over from old versions of the script that they must never have been improved upon. This trainwreck of a game truly goes to show how far down the level of quality has dropped for AA devs. The reputation of these companies I don't think can ever be recovered just because of how hard they dropped the ball on this one. Why something like this was made and released, especially from the devs that brought us Morrowwind and Wolfensteinn. My final review for this game is a concrete 0 out of 10....… Expand

    Doom Eternal tops its predecessor by adding much need depth to the combat, enhancing the slayers maneuverability, more interesting levels/locations, better more aggressive AI, rock solid id tech 7 and once again killer soundtrack by Mick Gordon.

Platforming is massive improvement over the Doom 2016 which had instant death from falling down from platforms.     Cons
    - Imbalanced overwhelming comically hilarious difficulty. Even with mods and toggling easy, the last few levels were completely bananas. The difficulty is great for hardcore FPS players, not fun, and inaccessible for everyone else.
    - ammo is scarce for the number of demons you have to deal with.
    - A giant toolbox to manage during intense fights, not a big detractor but could be streamlined like in DOOM 16.
    - Buff Totems - a hidden totem on the map that spawns and buffs current demons until you find it and destroy it. The demons are so strong they can kill you late game on easy if you can't find the totem in time.
    this should be something you can turn off.
    - certain runes should not be runes but in the game already, ie "better air control", how about just make that a thing in the first place.
    - the upgrade system is more convoluted than 2016

    Other thoughts:
    I installed mods to try to mitigate the difficulty and it made things ok until the last few levels where things became overwhelming again. You have to be some sort of hardcore genius to play this game even on normal (hurt me plenty) without mods. And I would not recommend this game to my worse enemy on console due to the controller. This could have been a 9 or 10 but the devs got in their own way imo    … Expand

    Good old doom. U feel the power of the guns. Game is really hard on higher difficulty. Good old pew pew just with nice graphics now.

As i say above, this game is much more difficult than its predecessor but it's giving more challenge and force you to be smart too. But what i don't like about this game is the platforming section which is annoying at times and slow down the pace. And the soundtrack?     Very, very good. Probably the best first person shooter to come out since Half Life 2. Of course the two cannot be compared being such different games in such a rich genre. This game is punishing as it should be. It gives you the tools to pull off incredibly satisfying sequences against enemies who genuinely feel dangerous because of their fast movement and high damage output. Luckily,Very, very good. Though sometimes it feels a bit "too" much, for what it wants to be, but i would be nitpicking at that point.     Gritty and fast great sound track that's heavy. Graphics are insane 4K Bloody and intense, everything DOOM promises to be and more. Great Game im really enjoying it.

    Yes has you can see that pretty intense gameplay cause this game is a FAST-FPS like quake.
    The level design is just incredible and artistic direction is breathtaking. For all monster and mobs there is different AI for each one and all of the weapons are so much powerful. The most important for me is the diversification of the gameplay cause all demons have a strength and weakness.

    Just buy it. It's like nothing else out there right now, and heart-poundingly challenging at times. Lots of good bonuses and easter eggs as usual, blah blah blah. From what I can tell it's very well optimized as well, I never experienced and chugging at all. Couple freezes and one or two bugs which forced me to reset the level (which was frustrating), but overall a complete gem.

    An epiphany of violence and gore. And art form of clicks and clacks. A picture painted of glory kills and fire. Hands down the best FPS money can buy, one that will challenge all of your physical gaming limits. Disgustingly well optimized. Stunning visuals.

    If you're looking for a deep and thought-provoking gaming experience that changes your outlook on life, look elsewhere. However, if you want a fast-paced, visceral shooter full of non-stop action and outrageous violence, you can't do better than Doom Eternal. If you liked 2016's offering you will love this follow up. It's a hell of a good time.

    Like Jason Statham’s character in Crank, Doom Eternal needs adrenaline every waking second. So long as you drown hordes of demons in their own blood, it feels like a perfect GOTY contender, but during quiet moments, Doom Eternal withers and forces you to ponder unpleasant questions. id Software needs to course-correct, otherwise we’ll be playing Super Doom Slayer’s Bros in a few years.
