    The campaign is easily one of the best I've played in an FPS! Very cool and lots of fun with my only complaint is that it was not long enough.

    Previous game was just bland, boring and ovehyped imo. This game pretty much fixed all the issues I had. Every level is unique, combat has lightyears more depth, more enemy variety, better weapon mods, better movement, story is more fun, etc.. This game just objectively crushes the previous by far.

    I am actually surprised I liked this game considering previous Doom sucked, was boring and massively overrated. Big improvement the levels are more interesting, movement is better and combat actually has depth this time around. Good game honestly.

    I beat this game twice, so it's not like I need to get gud, but I still hate this game.

    The reason I don't enjoy this game is because it's a one trick pony, it overwhelming you with too much enemy, so you would eventually either lose patience or just became fatigue and lose focus, so it's not really about the player skill anymore, any player no matter how skilled they are could get    I beat this game twice, so it's not like I need to get gud, but I still hate this game.

    Doom 2016 is a much better experience, not I'm not saying everything Doom Eternal did is bad, it's just need to bring back one of the three elements from the 2016 Doom

    1.Increase the weapon damage to Doom 2016 level, or

    2.Increase the Ammo you can carry to Doom 2016 level, or

    3.Bring back power ups (Like Invincible rage that makes you actually ripping and tearing?)

    You can't deprive of your player weapon damage while limiting Ammo supply, that's game design 101, it's just not an enjoyable experience, you should only pick one, while this might makes the player more powerful, you can design so the enemy hits harder too, so when you die you don't feel like it's **** it's more like "Oh I didn't dodge that, my bad"

    Bringing back powerups can make huge encounters that sometimes lasts for 5~10 mins more manageable, you can spawn the power ups when you reach certain amount of kills, then you can rip and tear for a while then go back to dodging

    Just bringing back 1 of the 3 points I made would make the game for much more enjoyable, but alas, it's probably not gonna happen because more players seems to enjoy the way it is, if that's the case then I guess this series moving forward is just not my type of games anymore.    … Expand

    It takes everything that made its predecessor stand out and takes it to a whole other level. The action got bloodier, the landscapes got bigger, the exploration got better and movement is better than ever. Destroying demons never felt so fun.

    P.S.: Marauders are not fun to fight.

    This game is similar to getting pure testosterone pumped into your veins and its ass-kicking season at the fugly contest. With more guns than reasons to care if that Imp had a family, It throws you feet first into Hell with several weapons that make and break the Geneva Convention and a sony walkman playing the greatest soundtrack and most adrenaline-inducing soundtrack that has come with any game ever, God speed Mick Gordon you absolute musical genius.

    The Music alone is enough to make anyone fall in love with this game faster than a mother with her newborn baby. The guitar riffs are actually him revving a chainsaw with a heavy metal choir to accompany it what more could you ask for when you are causing a demon genocide? I could go on longer than my erection I get while playing this game lasts about this absolutely amazing soundtrack. Not only smashing DOOM 2016's soundtrack into the Clark belt but also jettisoning every other game and its pitiful soundtrack into the neighbouring solar system. You can catch me listening to this while doing my laundry, cleaning my room, driving to work, Am I listening to this soundtrack while writing this? yes, how could you tell?

    Diving into the Gameplay, everything is perfectly balanced into this rhythmic dance you play out while you decimate entire continents of hell, juggling your health, ammo and armour asking an intimidating amount of skill. Yet once mastered? You feel like God himself and its time to bring divine judgment on these sinful beings. Not only does Doom Eternals gameplay have so many new and amazing upgrades from DOOM 2016 but it feels so fresh while doing so. This game, it's breathtaking, sweeping the floor with how amazing a single-player experience can be. Doom guy is the equivalent of a rage fulled, weaponized ballerina while manages to not only wipe out a few demons' bloodlines, but feel amazing doing so. Doom Eternal is in a league of its own and gameplay-wise one of the best, most fluent and amazing feeling shooters to be released to date.

    I found Doom 2016 to be very bland, repetitive and extremely overrated but this game is pretty large improvement. Its one of my fav all time shooters. Its like mix of old god of war and quake.

    Doom Eternal seems is a worthy successor of the legendary 2016 game and franchise. Glory kills are so brutal and over top so fun. Dash, weakpoints and shotgun hook is sooo fun. Had a great time ripping and tearing. Simply brilliant.

This game destroys 2016 which was brain dead, boring and overrated painkiller knock off. Doom 2016 did not feel like originals so when people say that I mock them. While this game also has painkiller elements and doesn't feel the like original games gameplay wiseAnyone who thinks Doom 2016 is better has brain damage. This game does not have no ammo. 180 machine gun, 24 shotgun, 13 rockets, 250 plasma are more than enough for average fps player to handle. As long as you aren't just spamming one gun and using all the weapons you will never constantly run out of ammo. The last fuel pip of the chainsaw infinitely will regen every 20 seconds and every single arena fight in this game will have chainsawble enemies to insure you will never run out of ammo ever. The game teaches you this is in very start and it doesn't take rocket scientist to figure this out. Arena and levels also have generous ammo pickups scattered and plus you can also get ammo from explosive barrels when you unlock Explosive Piñatas Praetor Suit upgrade. As for platforming I find it insane how someone would complain about something so trivial, easy and quick to complete. The platforming is fun and movement is awesome. I never see you trolls attack Titanfall 2 for doing the same exact thing. Doom 2016 also had a lot of jumping and platforming but I guess these trolls never beat that game to reach Argent Energy Tower level. Failing the platforming in that game meant instant death and you had to reload entire checkpoint. Eternal it takes some health and puts you back to the spot you f-up on. If you want a fun twitch movement arena shooter Eternal is the best game on the market along with Titanfall 2.… Expand

You need to use all the equipment and keep changing and adjusting it. This game is EPIC, dripping with adrenaline pumped with hard core music!     It is so annoying and stupid that it destroys the whole game as a shooter. You literally have to chainsaw and glorykill your way through hordes of monsters and the whole game. You cant even use your weapons properly because they run out of ammo all the time. And so you always have to use the chainsaw and be bored of the not very diverse killing animations very quickly. Even after my first 5 kills I was already getting bored of this mechanic. Then you get a few bullets for maybe one or 2 kills, and then you gotta chainsaw again. And so on. Again and again. Ridiculously boring.
    And then of course Glory Kills. You gotta do them to stay alive because you get health back when you kill a monster, or you sometimes have to kill them with a glorykill to kill them quicker (because everyone knows that a fist to the face is much more powerful than a few bullets in said face). They are as boring as the chainsaw. But you gotta do them. Just like chainsaw kills. Youre forced to.
    Makes sense, doesnt it? No?
    Well then youre like me, and your game must at least make a little sense. Killing a monster with your weapons and not getting ammo from it... fine. But then killing it with the chainsaw and ammo literally (!!!) pops out of it like from a pinata?
    Yeeeeaaaahhh... no thanks.
    Lets get to the other gameplay then.

    Weapons can be upgraded. That sounds good and is actually fun. But as I said, you cant enjoy it for long because you run out of ammo all the time.
    And then theres the sounds of the weapons. All Doom games (except the last one, where it was similar like here) and even other shooters have the weapons dominate the game sound. Naturally weapons like those would be very loud, and thus sound very powerful. In some games I got goosebumps from only the weapon sounds alone. But here? They sound like toy guns. Their sounds are ridiculous and extremely low. Which brings me to the other sounds... or rather music:
    Extremely annoying comes to mind. I mean there are a few good tracks, but they dont last long. Most of the time you hear some weird ass scratching and screeching that is neither ambiance nor music. Its just annoying as hell! No pun intended.

    Platforming. Right. When youre not busy glorykilling and chainsawing away, while letting one or two bullets fly in between, you have to jump from one platform to the next and look for secrets. As simple as it is boring and annoying. Because secrets give you points that you then spend for upgrades. And btw, those upgrades are also ridiculous, because your character is overly artificially weak at the start because hes missing them. You literally feel much weaker than in the last games. For a long time. For example you maximum health is very low at the beginning and and can only carry extremely little ammo (16 shotgun shells and 60 bullets, for example).

    Finding those secrets sometimes gets really annoying when you spot a way to a secret (or another part of the map), but then discover that its not the real intended way and to make sure you dont use it, its blocked by a.... you guessed it, invisible wall. Happens quite often if you like to explore (which you have to if you want to find the secrets). Thats just pathetic for a modern game.

    The controls also feel very weird. Possibly because Bethesda decided to add something called "mouse sensitivity scaling". At first I thought its something like mouse acceleration, but when you turn it to 0.1 (the lowest), then you wont turn at all anymore. Must really be some form of sensitivity scaling, which really doesnt make any sense, because anything else than 1:1 on a shooter like that (or any game) is just stupid. But they dont make it in such an easy to understand scaling (1:1), they use decimals that dont make sense.

    You also have some citadel floating in space where you store your found secrets (easter eggs) and buy upgrades for your character.
    Thats all it does. Yet you can still get lost in it.
    Nothing impressed me there, because Ive been playing the old Doom games on and off on more modern engines, and see and hear everything they showcase there anytime I want without having to find it in some level.

    Ive been very disappointed by Bethesda games in the last few years. But this one pretty much seals it for me: I wont ever buy one of their games again, unless, for some reason, I am 100% sure that its a good game. And looking at their track record, I highly doubt that will ever happen again. Because for some reason enough people condone this raping of good old IPs and soulless gameplay.     Pretty much improves almost everything from Doom 2016 to be one of the best shooters of all time. The flaws of bad third act, game getting repetitive, combat lacking depth and being too braindead are gone. Anyone who prefers Doom 2016 is only nostalgia riding a good but heavily flawed game. Eternal is objectively better game period.

    First of all, the graphics are very beautiful even though they don't show themselves in the game. When we say beautiful graphics, we immediately think of meadow grass as in RDR. However, the graphics that we cannot appreciate due to the pace of this game are amazing.

    They take damage from wherever you hit the demons. You can clearly see how each bullet you shoot can cause damage. In addition, the game has added weak points to most enemies so that you do not rely only on your strength. If you don't think tactically and jump in front of everyone with your gun, you will die. The biggest mistake in the game's gameplay is that even after defeating the guy called Marauder as a boss, he throws it in front of you. The difficulty of the game should be enjoyable, if it is time consuming, it will be boring and annoying.

    Another good thing about the game is that you can enjoy it without knowing anything about its story. We used to do this for Half-Life back then. This game is like that. It doesn't have much of a story, but its lore is vast. If you want, you can also enjoy the story by reading the papers you have collected.

    Let's not forget the music, make sure to play the game with headphones. The music of the game is so appropriate to the theme of "violence" that the music fixes the idea in your mind: "They are not yours, you are their enemy". Although I completely turn off the music of the game and turn on classical music, the effects in the game prevent the calm. Great job done on the sound.

Then I got to another area where the path forward was completely hidden. I had to look up a guide on how to proceed...     If you want to collect all the items/secrets it's pretty much required to use a guide. Even with them being revealed on the map it's still extremely obscure how you're supposed to get to many of them.

    I see later on that you're supposed to use the chainsaw to get ammo, but that's a really bad mechanic due to the fact that it only regens 1/3 and you need 3/3 to kill big guys, so you can't just waste it on little guys to get ammo or you won't have it when you need it.

    Difficulty level of certain parts was just ridiculous. I've been playing competitive FPS games at a high level for over a decade. I had to BOTH set it to the easiest difficulty AND choose the special armor option that basically makes you invincible. There's just too much going on at once, too fast. Two bosses plus 15 different enemies shooting, throwing, and charging you from all sides. Pure chaos. The way the battle was designed just completely zapped my interest.

    I found it more enjoyable on the lowest difficulty where I could actually focus on using the many tools they give you, rather than just running around trying not to get hit. They even nerfed the BFG to the point where it only kills small to medium enemies.

    The last fight was dumb and more of the same chaos. I was glad when the game was over. I definitely regret buying this game.

    Ancient Gods DLC 1 is just more of the same but more fighting, harder enemies, and new enemies. And even more problems that constantly make me say "what a garbage game".

    Ancient Gods DLC 2 - finally they do something right. The sentinel hammer is good design. And they finally make the auto shotgun usable in certain situations. Final boss fight was incredibly boring and a total waste of time.    … Expand

Eternal has got no fun factor or atmosphere. Melee kill a demon/creature and it explodes like cartoon pinata. I want blood, I want guts, not cutey colored lights ffs.     That's an outstandingly good game. It's masterpiece, but it's very difficult on Nightmare! more difficult than Doom 2016 which i cleared easily on Nightmare! But marauders and how i feel, that Icon of Sin, are "fairly" UNFAIR bosses. I recommend all players on nightmare to farm some Extra Lives.

    Easily my favorite DooM game of all time, DooM 3 would be second place. Eternal is just so much fun and has all my favorite demons and incredible graphics. Runs well too.

    A absolute blast to play. Varied crazy levels. Fixes the problem of Doom 2016 which had very samey levels. Combat is just simply smoother, more complex and better.

    If you're looking for a deep and thought-provoking gaming experience that changes your outlook on life, look elsewhere. However, if you want a fast-paced, visceral shooter full of non-stop action and outrageous violence, you can't do better than Doom Eternal. If you liked 2016's offering you will love this follow up. It's a hell of a good time.

    Like Jason Statham’s character in Crank, Doom Eternal needs adrenaline every waking second. So long as you drown hordes of demons in their own blood, it feels like a perfect GOTY contender, but during quiet moments, Doom Eternal withers and forces you to ponder unpleasant questions. id Software needs to course-correct, otherwise we’ll be playing Super Doom Slayer’s Bros in a few years.
