Blizzard sold everyone the same car they sold 20 years ago, except it has a paint job, and a worse engine, and more problems than their 20 year old car.

    Game released more than month ago and still works very bad. Constantly crushes with char changing, act changing, teleport or even among location cleaning with progression and items lost. I really tired to clean same places again for that annoying game crushes and don't wanna play anymore. Often you need to relog many times to just come to town you need.     At first, a lot of server issues, and now it's nearly confirmed we'll have waiting queues forever which last also forever (and are as/more annoying than server issues).

    The graphics from the remaster are nice, that's why I put 1 point because the game is ruined by blizzard and the servers / old code from 2000s.

    Let's start with good things first. Well, there is actually only one. It's old and good Diablo 2 but with really nicely revamped graphics.
    Now, for the bad stuff. Sadly the game is practically unplayable. There are constant queues to connect to Battle.net, even if you get in you can expect frequent disconnects, switching characters generates an error making you restart the game and queue    Let's start with good things first. Well, there is actually only one. It's old and good Diablo 2 but with really nicely revamped graphics.
    Now, for the bad stuff. Sadly the game is practically unplayable. There are constant queues to connect to Battle.net, even if you get in you can expect frequent disconnects, switching characters generates an error making you restart the game and queue again. Moreover, there is a constant general lag in the game, much worse than 21 years ago, with monsters killing you through the walls, this kind of playful behavior. And do not even try to teleport around, you are bound to end up in a wall, crash the game, or randomly die! And the lobby is the worst of all, joining an actual game is nigh impossible. instead, you get one of the long list of errors when you try to connect to a game. Refreshing the game info doesn't work most of the time either, so if you want to see if the Baalrun-x-05 is an old game lasting 10 minutes or a fresh run you have to guess.

    If you are reading this do not buy the game. You will just end up like me: frustrated, tired, and angry at Blizzard. It has just been a huge waste of my time, ended up refunding the game. One positive thing can be said about the refund process - painless and fast.    … Expand

    It is honestly hard to believe that blizzard can still be this incompetent. broken servers, Q that leads to not being able to join, so take another hour to try to get in. constant crashes that also lead to the before problem... if there is one thing i love it is lagging in a single player game.

    I was happy to go back to this game which I played so much a few years ago.
    I'm extremely disappointed, I was one of those who couldn't play when it was launched because of a bug related to the generation of the processor (the beta was working), it started badly.
    The pinnacle was also to implement a queuing system to enter a game, because Bnet did not want to invest in other servers.    I was happy to go back to this game which I played so much a few years ago.

    For me the drop rates of certain objects, even runes, have dropped, I made two HL characters, the first and second season, not even had battle boots or a herald, on the other hand I have enough to fill several accounts of sigon set found in hell.
    All that to say that this game is too expensive for a remake, and it is just thought to keep sites like D2JSP (lamer site) or the use of bots going.

    I saw an Amazon woman and an Asian killer at the start - I made a refand. It's such horror, just no words. Where power fantasy ? Where are the sexy characters? Everyone was dressed and mutilated.

I eventually uninstalled this game... game of my childhood ruined by some incompetents. Impossible to have a decent time.. too many problems.     Complete dumpster fire. Ive been supporting Bliz games for 30 years now. Pre ordered this. Played the beta which worked great. Then comes release and it wont even launch. Seems to be an issue with AVX which wasnt a requirement. Its not been live for a week and they havent fixed it.     They said it wasnt supposed to be in there. They said they were working on a fix. Yet other things keep getting fixed and this keeps getting put on a back burner. Now theyve tried blaming us for not meeting system requirements which we do. Many cant even get refunds back as some "game masters" refuse to issue them. Ive seen some terrible launches. D3. Many of the WoW expansions. Cyberpunk. Fallout 76. This is by far the worst and most disappointing. They managed to destroy a remaster and bone their oldest supporters. They keep banning people on twitter who even bring it up. This company no longer has any clue about what loyalty or accountability is. So if youre running a cpu thats 10 to 13 years old, dont buy it. You cant play. If you dont like companies who cater to streamers and screw their most loyal customers. Then dont buy anything blizzard related ever again. The development teams we knew and loved back in the day are long gone anyhow. This new generation of bliz devs just suck. Mind you Im not deducting points for anything other than the current state of the game and blizzards terrible response to it. If it ever gets fixed, ill be more than happy to revisit my review.     Resurrected my Metacritic log-in to rate this steaming pile of crap. I swore an auth after Fallout 76 to never pre-order again and to never support a game broken at launch. Refunded on day 1. No more chances. Billion dollar studios are not allowed to sell you a broken **** anymore.

    The new graphics are spectacular, the rest is as good as ever. A few small QOL improvements like a bigger, shared stash and auto gold pickup make this the best version of an all time classic game.

But what most frustrating part of this new remastered is constant Connection lost during gameplay. Just under 1 hour of playing time, I was already D/C 5 times.     Couldn't even launch the game from the first day. With computer well over minimum spec I was wondering what was the problem. I found there were thousands more like me who shares the same issue. We made official forum thread and some of us suspected that the problem is that our CPU doesn't support AVX. Blizzard told us if our problem is caused by AVX, we will get a fix because including AVXCouldn't even launch the game from the first day.     The game way to buggy for online some how I lost my character after beating all of Tristram. Randomly my friends and me would get kicked out of the lobbies. There were some other instances of running into a unkillable mobs the game is almost as bad warcraft 3 reforged.

    One of the biggest problems I have with the reskin of the game is the walking paths. It's very annoying when monster or terrain frequently get in the way of my character.     Somehow between Beta and the official release, they make AVX a system requirement. Early indication by Blizzard was that it was accidentally turned on and it would be fixed in 24 hours.     This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. -5 they didn't fix the "nham bug' , this bug broke 80% melee builds with shields(block)and passives like evade/dodge,and hit interruption animation.

    -1 for didn't fix whole bugs from alpha and beta,some of those bugs i was reported more than twice and what i see?-This bugs in release version,just 0 work on it
    -1 the game starts with "Failed to enter game.This character is alredy in a game on the server.Pease try again later." ofcourse if you had a chance for make a character and start play.
    -1 for web-side/server-side bugs,character losts,can't connect and server "wipes"
    -1 for graphic/texture bugs like minimap from previus game on current minimap,invisible walls wich brokes spell casts,teleport to textures above location and "stuck".
    P.S i know maybe in future this all bugs will fixed,but all of this bugs was reported to ingame bug tracker when was alpha and beta tests,why they do nothing with this bugs?Just nothing and released game "as is" whit whole bugs and errors,i can understand it if blizzard was indie-game developer,and price for this game was somthing like 9.99eur but is giant studio Blizzard and game for 39.99eur.Disrespect!    … Expand

    Пришлось регистрироваться, что бы оставить отзыв. Я шокирован тем, что пришлось ощутить.
    1- Игра позволяет себе лагать на PS5. Что происходит на ПК или ПС4, не знаю.
    2- Игра не запустилась на игровом Пк. 3- Игра не запустилась на втором игровом ПК. 4- После двух дней игры на ПС5 персонаж просто удалился и я остался просто ни с чем. 5- Деньги за ПК версию так и не вернули......    Пришлось регистрироваться, что бы оставить отзыв. Я шокирован тем, что пришлось ощутить.
    1- Игра позволяет себе лагать на PS5. Что происходит на ПК или ПС4, не знаю.

    Beta worked almost perfectly, and I was pretty satisfied.... But in between the open beta and the full release THE TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS HAD CHANGED so there were thousands of people unable to play... That just straight out borders on FALSE ADVERTISING.

    You cannot show a game that works on beta, only to turn around and change that.
    Beta is supposed to be basically a done game with minor issues.. What the heck is wrong with this company?

    This review is not for the game itself, as I absolutely love D2, and eventhough they changed some things in the Ressurrected version, I would still absolutely love the time spent in game.

    This review is bottom of the barrel because Blizzard are a company who lives off old IP, but themselves seem completely incapable of most things.

    Для меня, Диабло 2 Ressurrected - новая игра, и мне… понравилось. Она меня затянула. Она красиво выглядит. И после нормала я буду изучать Endgame контент.

    И хоть от современной Blizzard давно не выходило ничего стоящего, Ressurrected могу порекомендовать всем, кроме олдфагов у которых забрали их любимые ж*пы.

    Надеюсь увидеть что нибудь подобное в Диабло 4.    … Expand

    This game could be great, but it just isn´t. The stability of the client and even more so for the servers is not even acceptable for a beta test, yet they released it in this way. Do yourself a favor and stay away from Diablo II resurrected until they solved their problems and removed they queue.

    I loved the original, but my biggest problem was server stability. They never bothered to fix their 20 year old servers. I was hoping the new one to work better. And sure, new online game always has issues. But its been two weeks since release, almost 3 at the time of writing, and servers are down every day for multiple hours. On top of that there are random crashes, rollbacks. This is ridiculous.

    A Re-skin of the original, nothing else, nothing was fixed, Combat is still sluggish and slow, not sure what they actually did other then the graphics. its not a remaster, its a Re-skin. Could of fixed a lot of things but didn't. A quick cash grab is all it is.

You spend no time in the campaign, you get rushed through to fight baal or mephisto endlessly in hopes for loot that's not stolen by a teleport or leap bot. Make a mistake with your skills or stat points? Welp probably best to remake your character cause you already used your very limited reroll. Randomly ganked? yup. It's very true to form.
    - Graphical Overhaul. I actually feel like while this does look nice if you look at say screen shots, it added too much detail to the point of making the game too visually noisy when you are playing. They also seemed to make original version look worse somehow. Not sure how that happens. Also the no ultrawide support when they said they would was a kick in the stomach.
    - Misleading marketing. I feel like this is probably the spawning pool of all the graphical overhaul hate and to some extent I understand it from that perspective. During their marketing campaigns blizzard spend a very long time explaining how much they wanted this to be true to the original. Digging through old concept art, game sprites etc etc. So when they started to take creative liberties with things in the game they gave us all a comparison point to work with. When things didn't line up, especially the more important things like characters you obviously open yourself to hate. Personally I wish they picked a street. Either say we are giving this an all new fresh twist! or We are making this true to form as original. Don't try to run one side while saying you are doing the other.
    - No TCP/IP
    - Cannot play offline. This kinda hurts a lot as much of how I remember this game was playing it offline so I wouldn't tie up phone lines.
    - They didnt really fix any of the problems that have been present in the game for 20 years. They put lipstick on the pig and pushed it out into the world. So expect old bugs. Also expect LOTS of new ones. Game crashes constantly. You disconnect constantly.

    I'm rambling but the quick and dirty is this: It's the same game you remember from 20 years ago. It looks sometimes better, sometimes worse and functions much worse than its original counterpart. It's lipstick on a old dog, doing the same old tricks. Its fine but I advise you to not spend 40 bucks on this. Far too much money to ask for a graphical update. I'm so glad they had a openbeta for this to ward off the wary.    … Expand

Enemies rubberband and can teleport into you so you get stuck or worse insta-killed.     Пишут уже - у кого этих AVX'ов нет, вы вообще не подходите под системные требования. Вдруг. Хотя раньше 1) нигде в системках про эти авиксы не писали (и сейчас, кстати, не пишут) 2) сами говорили вначале, что это не запланированная фигня, и они всё починят. Наглость 80 уровня. Сами понимают, что банально развели кучу народу, понимают, что мы это понимаем, но всё равно на голубом глазу меняют свою позицию на 180 градусов и мы теперь сами виноваты. Слов нет. Рад тому, что всего два дня тянул с рефандом, жалею, что вообще решил купить дяблу эту у нынешних близзов.

    Они просто игроков держат за полных дебилов, раз позволяют себе такое поведение. Или уже махнули рукой совсем на свою репутацию и им хоть чего бы урвать напоследок.     Despite this, your character will automatically become available to play given time. We do not have a way to speed up this process and can only ask for your patience while this is being worked on."

    -No ladder (at launch)
    -LAN mode removed
    -Mod Support removed
    -Direct Connect mode also removed
    -Ultrawide support was removed
    -Visually much worse: harder to actually see compared to the original
    -Character models changed from the original (made worse, uglier and much older(intentionally) example: google "MALE Amazon" and you will get a screenshot from diablo 2 resurrected... etc)
    -DRM Always online (even single-player mode)
    -Lag ("Single-Player mode" also lags)
    -Bugs (some people can't even start the game, characters progress gets deleted)
    -Windows 10 "Exclusive" other OS-es not supported
    -Requires CPU's with AVX support (not listed as a system requirement)
    -Uses much RAM (main menu uses ~3 GB)
    -No infinite respec (orignal had this)
    -No ingame Friend list/joining

    Neutral:
    I prefer the original Main Menu (removed) instead of the "Diablo III clone" menu.    … Expand

    Cosmetic added to characters are disturbing. The game won't launch at release, while the beta was running smoothly. Worst launch i've experienced so far in my gaming life for more than 28 years.

    DO NOT BUY Diablo2 resurrected. Pre ordered and played beta fine. But Blizzard changed the requirements and programming logic AFTER beta test. As a result after the release game still not starting on my PC. 4000+ posts on blizzard support forum (thousand of players suffering with the issue confirmed by the developers). Poor R&D and Quality control for the company with such size.

    Looks like it would be fun, if the game would actually launch. Sadly, devs decided to change the system requirements post-beta. But it was an accident. Or not. Yes, definitely unintentional, but also these are the requirements, so it's players' fault somehow. They can't even settle on one narrative. Pretty bad launch, but not a surprise for the washed up company that used to be Blizzard.

    Technical issues with the servers aside - the game is far away from the classic.

    The movement is optimized for controller. You'll reconize it pretty fast when playing as a melee, cause the character box is bigger, you'll block each other melee party member often. Walking close to along a wall and the movement feels weird, like disoriented.

    3 days later and the game still doesn't work... I have not been able to get into a game for the last 3 hours. It's been a nightmare half the time spent on this game, whether it's CTDs, overlapping maps (markers appearing that make no sense, like waypoints and other things) or just not being able to play at all... This is just too much bs to put up with.

    No Ladder, Removed tcpip, can't reset game due to trash servers, and constant rollback even in offline gameplay is making this game unplayable. Hardcore is impossible to play because of risk of getting kicked out and losing your character. Controls are also clunky and there's still numerous bugs in the game that's not fixed. Long loading times as well and I have a SSD.     The most powerfull enemy of the game is the blizzard server, you can't play on battle net more than 3 minuts, after this time, you'r kicked out with that message "You'r connection has been interrupted" and pray because you'r character can be erased.

    No offline mode, no LAN mode, no supportable for modding, only connect to online. Blizzard used all way to suck money, dont drop even a single coin out. One more thing, expensive price for a remastered game.
    Only improve graphic. It doesnt deserve to buy, truly

    Diablo II: Resurrected is far from perfect. The changes in character design are likely to rile up returning players, and the archaic gameplay probably won’t agree with younger generations weaned on more streamlined, sophisticated experiences. While I appreciate that this legendary title is now available in an improved format, it’s not a caveat-free recommend.

    Diablo II: Resurrection is outdated return of the legend, but it brings such a perfect atmosphere and such a wonderful audiovisual processing, that serie fans will be excited.

    Diablo II returns with refreshed graphics and unaltered gameplay (apart from some small improvements). It’s as fun as I remembered, so I quickly felt at home and gave in to nostalgia. However, it’s hard not to notice that beneath revamped visuals lies a 21 years old design. [12/2021, p.32]
