    Let's sum up my Diablo 2: Resurrected experience so far...
    Play for 5 hours at the initial release and get disconnected. Attempt to connect to a new game to continue playing and get notified that “Failed to enter game, this character is already in a game on the server.”... This error persists for another 3 hours locking me out of being able to play.
    I'm finally able to join another    Let's sum up my Diablo 2: Resurrected experience so far...
    Play for 5 hours at the initial release and get disconnected. Attempt to connect to a new game to continue playing and get notified that “Failed to enter game, this character is already in a game on the server.”... This error persists for another 3 hours locking me out of being able to play.

    I'm finally able to join another game at which point I get connected only to see that approximately 3 of the 5 hours of my progress, including the items, waypoints, quests, levels, everything had been rolled back and lost.

    I continue playing for several more hours and experience the same error message once more "Failed to enter game, this character is already in a game on the server."... This time I have been locked out of being able to join games for 18 hours now but I can still see the character selection screen so I can see that my character is 6 levels lower that what they were at...

    This was a fail of a launch as per usual by Blizzard.    … Expand

    Amazingly good remaster. Stays very true to the original look and feel of the game, and yet the graphics are a million times better. Had a rocky launch but things are stable now.

    this is an amazing game that brings retro feelings back..the original is unplayable with the old graphics i try to play it but i couldnt and the resurrect is like new game base over the old..there many haters here but thats nothing to do with the game but "political staff" if you like titan quest diablo3 type of game is a must..and also its not an easy game like tha new ones

    For a remaster, I was expecting 21:9 (ultrawide support), upscaling the graphics but leaving out ultrawide monitors and asking 40€.

    I'll wait for it to be on sale before trying this again.

    Everything I expected is there, and then some. If you were a fan of the original, definitely get this one! Great visuals, smooth gameplay, some QoL changes. Apart from a few server problems on launch day, which was to be expected (blizzard games always have problems on launch day, due to the large amount of players trying to log in) and lasted no more than a    An amazing remaster.

В день выхода,пару часов была проблема с коннектом,и пропал чар,но через полтора часа все настроили.     Sorry for not hopping on the Blizzard hate bandwagon, but I'll actually give an honest review for everyone to look at. Now I know this may mess up YouTuber's videos of "DIABLO 2 IS HORRIBLE!" when they clip the 0's. But oh well. Here we go!

Sorry I'm not a streamer that's sinking 12-16 hours a day into this game and constantly hoping on and off servers and games to ruin it for everyone by crashing it out. I had about a 2-3 hour window after release where I had RL obligations so when I was able to sit down and enjoy it, I was immediately immersed. The online play has had a couple rubber banding issues, but nothing that has negatively affected me. And yes there is an offline mode too. And no your offline character cannot play online. Which is good, to curbs the 20 some odd years of hacks, glitches, and malpractice the previous titled had to endure.

    Graphics are phenomenal to what they're worth. It's still just Diablo 2 but they made it pleasing to the 21st century at least. Disregard all accusations of censorship by others. Your imagination fueled what the game looked like before. You didn't know if it was a nip slip or a high cut dress in the original game anyways. The pixels made it look a little more out in the open because all all there was to separate a cleavage or a thigh. A giant line of pixels in between. Your immersion isn't ruined. You're still playing the same game. And a busty character never actually was the reason why you played the game to begin with. Gore is still there. Dark, gritty theme is still apparent. And the new character look amazing. Sorry your characters don't look like models anymore. You're playing DIablo 2 though. The characters look like they belong on a roster of veterans and badasses that are setting out on an adventure that will reshape the world. You're just finding things to complain about. Game looks amazing.

    Story and gameplay: Still Diablo 2. And what was in the OG is in D2R. And that's why the marks are as high as they are. Because the marks for the OG in my mind are roughly the same.

    Bugs: Haven't encountered any outside of an occasional rubber band. And judging by the streaming going on and multiple people well into their 80's and 90's within the first few days, Ubers groups, etc. It looks like the bugs "everyone" is experiencing is superficial. You're going to run into them regardless in any game, but it looks like the bugs in this game aren't affecting anyone too drastically. Again though, just something people are finding a reason to complain about something is all. And isn't affecting high level characters, so shouldn't affect the average person.

    I'm going to rank this game close to the same as the original. Because it deserves every merit to be ranked up there with it. An amazing game that's moving into the 21st century and something old and new players can relive, enjoy, or get into. It brings me the same joy as the OG did when I was younger. I just way more obligations in life than I did when I was like 12 to enjoy it as much as I did before. But I'll always make time for it.    … Expand

    Blizzard envisioned Diablo II with a fresh coat of paint and they delivered exactly that. D2R does exactly what's described on the tin. It's the same game I remember from my childhood writ gorgeous and with a few quality of life improvements. It plays exactly like the original to the point where you can literally toggle between the    An extraordinary remaster for a childhood friend...

    It plays exactly like the original to the point where you can literally toggle between the remastered and original game, should you let your masochistic desire for blurry pixels get the better of you. The performance could be better -- on the bare minimum game settings (@ 1440p) my RTX 1060/2600x struggles to hit a consistent 60fps, which seems puzzling for a game with so few assets. (If you're in a similar boat, switch your display mode from fullscreen to windowed and maximize said window. You'll get your buttery smooth Windows hardware cursor back no matter how poorly D2R performs "in the background.")

    Is the gameplay amazing in 2021? No. Some levels are tedious. The inventory is awkward and small. There are goofy mechanics: stamina bars, odd nomenclature (e.g. I'd forgotten that "attack rating" kinda means "hit chance"), annoying dialogue ("I'lL pUt tHaT tO goOd uSe" repeats my companion), etc. But to focus on these issues is to miss the point. Diablo II: Resurrected is explicitly a restoration project, not a greenfield project, and it delivers. If you want a new Diablo game, go follow the new Diablo game. They're on #4. There are blog posts about it and everything. Have fun.

    Does D2R have the same magic as the original? Of course not. Childhood nostalgia can't be matched. But while running though desert sands & lush forests summoning skeletons, I do feel the occasional same pangs of mystery and wonder I experienced in the original.

    The folks at Blizzard wanted to resurrect Diablo II and they did exactly that. If you want a modern hack-n-slash/RPG, pick up Hades or Grim Dawn. If you want to replay Diablo II, buy this game.    … Expand

    Those who are complaining about server crash - it is common issue after release of most expected games and not for only day one. It worked great first half hour, then yes, got DC and stucked, bud after maintance same day all is working flawless and I am enjoing every minute. You dont see much possitive reviews because all of us are playing, not writing ;)
    How can someone here complain, that you are naked after death and consider himself as Diablo fan? It is not bug, it is how it was all the time! You are just kids, how wants everything easy and got all the best gear in one day - then play D3 which is also atleast 9/10 game.    … Expand

    Great game, perfect remaster. Everything like it should be. At the beginning problems with server, because there is too many people playing. There is also a bug with the map, but those are minor problems. Games is great with perfect graphic! There are no problems in game.

    I was playin' d2 in 3Dfx Glide engine, and was amazed by colors and grapgics, and bit later played on other video cards with directx. Well Glide was the best! And now it's the same as on Glide engine those days! All othes is an old good DIablo 2    Hell yeah! It brings back feelings, which was the same when i played original game long time ago. The same enjoyment as i returned back to 2000!

    I recommend it, great game. I never thought that returning to the game after 20 years would be so much fun. Fans of the genre will be delighted. Blizzard did a great job.

    If you are expecting a visual upgrade of your old beloved classic, then you will have an amazing time playing it. It is perfect? No. It is well done? Yes, very.

    I consider this a great remaster, with animations, visuals, cinematics and QOL improvements just great.

    So in summary:
    If you want to play this game for the very first in your life - manage expectations, this game is 20 years old (consider the gameplay) it is fun, but it will not stand well against like Path of Exile, Grim dawn etc.
    If you loved this game as a kid but old visuals kept you from replaying the game, go for it, there will not be a better time.

    Very good remaster, almost perfect. So much effort put into it. Much better than this **** called Warcraft 3 Reforged. I wish the same team will improve WC3:R someday.

    I have to say this game is clearly has the best graphics for 2021 it is clearly highly impressive. The game is still the same with not a lot of bugs that I don't know... I never ran into them yet on hardcore mode offline mode. Now for the Offline mode I believe that the score is at least a 10/10 must buy. There hasn't been any crashes none at all. Thanks to my new pc up to 2,000$ thatI have to say this game is clearly has the best graphics for 2021 it is clearly highly impressive.     For for online it's clearly a 4/10 due to disconnecting... (pack with players and blizzard hasn't stress test the online version of the game. That is the only thing that needs fixing and hope they do this soon.

    I'm more of a single player game so I say that to be fair I think this is an 8/10 so far they still need to improve the remaster online multiplayer a little more. As a veteran I always play solo anyway due to bad connections for internet. I just hope it's not to late to have single player for diablo 4 when it releases because I wouldn't be playing it because of it's online mechanics. Shame and sad though.    … Expand

    Ремастер игры вышел именно таким каким диабло был в 2001 году. Да в первый день были проблемы с соединением. Но это близзард они всегда в первый день все в трубу выкидывают. Игра именно такая какой я запомнил её из детства. Игра не заслуживает 10/10 но много людей ставят 0 из-за проблем которые к игре не относятся, так что решил поставить 10.     Love the new visuals and the sound improvements. I've played both single player and multiplayer without issues and it's been super fun and satisfying. I like the automatic gold pickup and the upgraded stash as additional features and feel they do not detract from the game at all. The updated cinematics were lacking in Warcraft 3 reforged but not so here - they are great! Overall I amLove the new visuals and the sound improvements.     Its not perfect, but its about as good as a remaster could be to a game from the year 2000. Review bombing because your mad at blizzard for reasons unrelated to the actual game is ridiculous. I've played for 20 hours and not had as much as a lag spike (although I'll admit maybe i'm just lucky). Any other technical issues will be worked out by Monday, and the game will continue to get better.

    Iconic game from 2000 got great new look. Blizzard did great job, some QQL changes like auto gold pickup or expanded stash will make game more friendly in 2021. Big + are remastered cinematics. First day had some server problems but that is expected when milions players tried to log in and play. It should be fixed now.

Eso para los veteranos debería significar un toque en esa nostalgia de los viejos tiempos. Nunca compre Diablo 2 en ese entonces porque era un adolescente sin trabajo y sin dinero, así que lo jugué "No de la mejor manera", pero ahora le doy el merito que seParecen esos que critican el juego no entendieran..     Vicarious visions did a great job bringing game to 3d. Technical bugs will be sorted in a week. People are acting like this was like the warcraft 3 debacle. Nope game is great. Oh my god consequences for losing lol Take home look up instructional videos and adapt to the game mechanics. If you do you ll be surprised how much you ll enjoy it. Give it a chance.

    Theys did good game is fine and they resisted the urge to change too much. I look forward to more content like new acts and runes. Just wait till act 2 when you get horadric cube. Then you'll see the combinations are mind boggling.     The negative reviews come from people angry with Blizzard Activision. You cannot give a bad review of DIablo 2. This game is better than ever as it now comes with new graphics.

    The game is good. There is no ground breaking problems. This new Blizz deserve a lot of negativity but in this case and with this game no. It is the same game as it was in 2001. It's not a remake!!!!! It is the same game but with a few plus ( stash size and erase the ladder only runes etc..) .

    Stunning visuals and stays true to the original game that we all know and love. I also highly recommend even new players give it a shot, it’s just as addicting 20 years later. Also appreciate that you can flip to the OG graphics, it blows my mind every time I switch

    Из недостатков, я отмечу сомнительную (ещё мягко сказано) оптимизацию, плохой сетевой код(по крайней мере на старте), убранную возможность играть по локальной сети и конечно цену (которая даже не включает скидку тем, кто уже владеет оригинальной Diablo 2)...

    Beta works fine and now the game wont start because of AVX which was never an requirement... gj blizz! edit: After AVX fixes its just a fine game and looks very good. now u have to fix the server issues and there will be a much better score!

I was still able play single player! Also note that ladder hasn't started yet, so there is absolutely no reason to demand 0 lags on launch. Singleplayer works well.     I played the original D2 to death when it came out. I was looking forward to this remaster more than any other game and preordered it as soon as I could. Played in both the closed and open betas and loved it. Had all 5 available classes through Act 2 (the limit in the betas).

    Then launch day hit. Loaded up the game, excited to play for real and.... nothing. Could not get past the    I played the original D2 to death when it came out. I was looking forward to this remaster more than any other game and preordered it as soon as I could. Played in both the closed and open betas and loved it. Had all 5 available classes through Act 2 (the limit in the betas).

    Then launch day hit. Loaded up the game, excited to play for real and.... nothing. Could not get past the "Play" button. Checked the tech support forums and found out I was one of thousands of paying customers in the exact same situation. Despite being able to play nearly any other game on the planet on my "underspecced" machine, and having zero issues playing the betas, I was now locked out of playing due to a hardware requirement. Worse is the total lack of communication from Blizzard on this matter. There has been no word in 2 days from anyone. The last post from their community manager essentially blamed everyone with this issue for trying to play with machines that don't meet minimum specs, but that they will try to fix it for us, all while posting celebratory pictures of a "perfect launch" on Twitter. Not impressed, Blizzard.

    Edit to Add: This is day 7 from launch that I have been unable to play.

    Update: The AVX issue was finally fixed, 12 days after launch. I am thoroughly enjoying the nostalgia of replaying this classic without the cringe associated with the original's dated graphics. I have upgraded my review score accordingly.    … Expand

When I click the button, my character should do the thing for one. I know that veterans of this game enjoy the throwback. I know that people played D3 and were like "this isn't my D2 that I came to love," but like could they not implement some QoL improvements that we saw in D3? How long has battle.net chat been integrated with all of their games? And now here we are creating channels just to send a whisper. Which is outside of my point a little, but really.

    This is such a huge cash grab that I 100% fell for. Everyone who wants to play this game or get the nostalgic feel of Mephisto runs should really look to Project Diablo 2. Which is open source as long as you have a diablo 2 key or whatever. It was community-driven and, in my opinion, way better than Resurrected. Granted it doesn't have the cute graphics like this, but honestly, I'd take it over this one.

    5/10, 4 of which are due to nostalgia and cutscenes. So really, if you weren't a hardcore D2 player back in the day, I don't really know how I could recommend this.    … Expand

    If you're fan of the original you will love Res.

    True, no mods and no TCP/IP. But let be honest, D2R aims to live online. Mods would just split playerbase, and while mods itself are ok, most AAA games are mod-less and are not review-bombed because that. Thats silly.

    Also not having tcp/ip seems just normal. More than 20 years has passed, while not a bsd thing itself, seems pointless to use it instead of B.net

    As said, D2R delivers. Keeps the D2 essence while updating it to modern times. A great job.

    Fantastic game, I really love playing Diablo II (first timer). I´m lucky and don´t have any connection issues. If you like Action RPG, you must try this game. On pc, it runs great ( i have an old computer and can play on high settings), you can use a gamepad if you want.

    Diablo 2 is a timeless masterpiece, and it is now remastered for modern hardware. It is everything I expect from Diablo 2 with some quality of life improvements. There are some server side issues related to the new Battle.net and cross save features, but the game itself is preserved as it should be.

    Diablo II: Resurrected feels absolutely the same as the original game from 2000, but looks just amazing. Despite few bugs on release, this remake far exceeded my expectations.
    I'm sincerely grateful to Vicarious Visions and Blizzard for this great job!

Сложно соревноваться с лучшим, будучи лишь пародией на свою тень. А лучше чем Дьябло 2 мог оказаться только Дьябло 2, адаптированный под современную картинку. Лорд Разрушения живет на моем компьютере с незапамятных времен и вот, наконец, у него появился прямой приемник. 23 сентября ад открыл свои врата и заиграл новыми красками. Как мне показалось, даже более близкими к атмосфере первой части. Даже ролики переработали. Но при всем при том, не убили ни геймплей ни классические механики.
    Отдельно порадовало, что мои сохраненки, бережно переносимые сквозь года с одной машину на другую, обрели жизнь в новой оболочке. За что я отдельно искренне благодарен разработчикам.
    Цена кусается, согласен, но тут наверно беда не столь цены, сколько нашей бедности. Но мы же знаем, что голь на выдумку хитра, не так ли?)
    Персонажей переработали, да. Сделали их ближе к реальности. Но я не скажу, что прямо всех изуродовали: Сорка все так же прекрасна, Друид сходил в качалку и возмужал, Варвар и Амазонка стали менее фентезийными, Некромант все так же мрачен и пафосен, а Ассасинка стала азиаткой (что в целом даже логично). Палладин всегда был смуглым, теперь он обрел лицо. В оригинале они все выглядели кучкой цветных пикселей в спрайтовой графике, все остальное дорисовывала наша фантазия, только и всего :)
    Про сетевую игру ничего не скажу, она меня никогда не интересовала. Убрали возможность игры по ЛАН (хотя в альфе она была), но быть может еще приделают обратно.
    Так что, Лорд Разрушения вернулся. А всем всё равно уже не угодить. Наш вердикт: "После стольких лет? Всегда!"    … Expand

    People don't consider this is a remastered game, not a new one. There are plenty of users who played 20 yrs ago. Quite good remastering, eventhough there are still problems that this game had from the original.

    This game is so good. The fact that it's not new is why. Sure they might have gotten their hooks into a few things but for the most part it's all here and looks amazing. It's one of the best remakes you will find. I'm having a lot of fun with it. Diablo III was boring to me, whatever I found next was more op than what I had currently. There was no real treasure hunt.

    This is not a faithful remaster as of the descion not to add lan. As a new zealander and a diablo ii fan I am double annoyed at this lack of consideration.

    The game is absolutely Diablo 2. Graphics looking good (and Amazon looking good as well, it is an ancient warrior, not Marvel superhero). No lags for me for 2 days.

    This is the peak of remasters - exactly what everyone could ever hope for. Not going to let the hate for Blizzard change my opinion - the team who worked on this deserves a 10.

    Great remaster. Everything is as in the 20 years old father.

    I don't understand the crying about the old mechanics. It's EXACTLY what is expected from this game. Issues with servers were only in the very beginning because of the huge amount of players. Now everything is OK.

    I recommend this game.

    Diablo II: Resurrected is far from perfect. The changes in character design are likely to rile up returning players, and the archaic gameplay probably won’t agree with younger generations weaned on more streamlined, sophisticated experiences. While I appreciate that this legendary title is now available in an improved format, it’s not a caveat-free recommend.

    Diablo II: Resurrection is outdated return of the legend, but it brings such a perfect atmosphere and such a wonderful audiovisual processing, that serie fans will be excited.

    Diablo II returns with refreshed graphics and unaltered gameplay (apart from some small improvements). It’s as fun as I remembered, so I quickly felt at home and gave in to nostalgia. However, it’s hard not to notice that beneath revamped visuals lies a 21 years old design. [12/2021, p.32]
