If you like looters, you'll love this game. It's similar to Warframe and Borderlands.

Don't listen to the naysays, it's a lot of fun with some great content. This from a guy with thousands of hours invested into looters

I'm really enjoying the game. I never played Destiny 1, so various complaints about how they ruined X or Y don't factor in here, as I have nothing to compare them to. I'm reviewing the game on its own merits.

I'm really enjoying the game. I never played Destiny 1, so various complaints about how they ruined X or Y don't factor in here, as I have nothing to compare them to. I'm reviewing the game on its own merits.

    Pros:
    * The gunplay is very solid. The guns are fun to use and have a reasonable variety, but not a massive amount. It mostly sticks to the standard gun classes, but throws in some fun twists. Shooting feels responsive.
    * Movement feels good. Jumping feels solid, geometry is reasonable, nothing feels particularly sluggish or floaty.
    * Abilities are meaty and satisfying to use. Each class has three subclasses, each of which has two subtrees, giving a decent amount of customization to how you play.

    Neutral:
    * The gear is only sort of interesting. Exotics are the gear types that can heavily modify skills, and you can only have a couple at a time equipped. The loot treadmill is fun up until you start hitting moderate light levels, at which point you're mostly looking for small upgrades.
    * PvP seems okay, but limited. Not a lot of modes, not a lot of maps. The cooldowns concern is particularly bad in PvP, but so far I've found it to be decent, but not great.
    * The story is okay. Not great. Hopefully future content expands on it.

    Cons:
    * Cooldowns. Ability cooldowns are very long, and this particularly comes out in PvP. You'll be lucky to pop your super more than once or twice, and even nades/special melee come out rarely.
    * Communication. It's extremely hard to communicate with random people. Chat (voice and text) are both locked behind various options, making it cumbersome to communicate in the open world.
    * Clans. Extremely half-assed. While at launch they're broken (which I expect will get fixed), there isn't clan chat, at all. You're required to use Discord or similar to set up groups, unless you want to use their janky clan website functionality.

The game itself is fun, its also very beautiful.

But, the UI feels like a console UI, so it feels like a port and i dont like it.
The items and looting dosent feel meaningful like other action rpgs, hack and slash games or
    whatever.

The graphics are amazing and very beautiful. Those who say the graphics are bad are probably blind or either have a potato PC that can't handle it because this game is gorgeous. Also playing with your friends make the experience even better and fun. If your new to destiny give the game a try and if you don't like it just return it. It's honestly a much better game than I anticipated. It's a blast playing with mates, but a bit boring solo. I love to grind for gear, reminds me of the good old WoW days.
I'm not too fond of the use of dlcs, greedy bastards.

I'm coming into this game with no knowledge of D1 other than a few minutes of the D1 beta before release. IT IS A BLAST! I'm up to power level 100 and the campaign and storytelling is incredible so far. I'm not sure why everyone hates this game.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. CONS: I was very disappointed with the difficulty of the final boss fight. There are several Strike and other battles that are far harder and lengthy. Was expected it to be epic and it was not.

PROS: PC version experience with mouse and keyboard is incredible coming from PS4. Much more enjoyable. Always enjoyed that in 1st person shooters having grown up on Quake, Wolfenstein, and CounterStrike on PC.

Overall the story line and the comedic cut scenes are very nice and entertaining. The shooting, game play, movement, music, graphics ( phenominal imo even at 2k ), and new adds and expansions on Destiny content were very nice. One of the best 1st person shooters I've played in the past few years.

Looking forward to RAID content next month.

This game has been flawlessly made into a native PC game with all of the features that you would expect of a pc game.
The story isn’t bad but could be better. Leveling up is too easy.
Ive noticed many people saying that this game lacks many if the original game’s features, but that’s not true. You just have to continue the story.

If I can say one thing about Destiny that is good .. it has fantastic control and looks really nice.
60FPS on PC is the way this game is meant.
Below are the issues I have.
    - 60FPS in game but 30FPS on cinematics.. makes a difference when the switch happens.
    - Leveling is done way before the end-boss of original content. LVL 20 is max in base game and 25 for Osiris expansion.
    - Sparrows are pointless in this game as they make you beat the game to use one (unless you earn one from a bright engram) This creates large areas where the game goes from a FPS to a walking simulator.
    - Items are small in quantity with new ones that were in original Destiny being brought back only not as good. Unique items such as skins, sparrows, ships, class gear, special event gear, come from Engrams which are earned every faux level after max level.. or purchasable with Silver which is the in game micro transaction currency.
    - Communication is horrible.. There is no general chat, clan chat, or easy way to get anything going in a MMO FPS game that focuses on PVP, Raids, and Strikes.. Oh but wait Activision and Bungie must love Nintendo because they made a mobile Destiny app that allows you to find that special clan and chat with them.
    - Bungie kept the aim assist in the PC version which combined with the 60FPS and Keyboard/Mouse combo makes this game easy to do whatever.. I died the first time well after beating the main story during the raid.
    - Still the same lame concept.. kill wave after wave and then any enemy you see in world.. know there are 3 of them.. Bungie can't seem to do things in random numbers.
    - The planets seem much small in Destiny 2.. I never use sparrow unless I'm doing a strike or something where people avoid enemies and just try and go fast through the content.
    - The farm is a great place but like the first game you eventually get a big city which is basically just a big walking simulator which contains just pointless halls and needs to be 90% smaller.. think farm or PSO lobbies.

Also I can't stand the fact that they already have a expansion which I also played and it sucked.. Smallest planet and it makes the light level achieved during Leviathan Raid pointless. This accompanied with the low content level shows Bungie and Activision hide content behind paywalls.

Good game and while I still play its mainly to do Milestones and Crucible matchmaking.

I wasn't very enthusiastic about Destiny 2. Destiny had been pretty heavily critisized by its lack of story, meh gameplay, and the gameplay videos I watched about it didn't exactly sell me on it, although as a PC only gamer I knew I'd be immune to the sequel related salt. However I took the (once a year, if even) 60€ plunge and HOLY **** I LOVE IT.

However I took the (once a year, if even) 60€ plunge and HOLY **** I LOVE IT.

Things that I *loooove* about Destiny (2? in general? I don't even know.):

    - Weapon loot is random to a point, but most equipment has some customization options, especially sights, barrels, magazines, and specializations in the case of armor. That really solves the Borderlands-esque problem of being stuck with weapons as-is.
    - Short story arc, with focus on sandboxy stuff to do.
    - Really nicely crafted levels, and story missions. Some stuff, like the Titan level, is not only mega pretty, but also super atmospheric.
    - Tons of stuff to explore and emergent gameplay.
    - Public events, which are super nice solo-compatible cooperative missions.
    - Very satisfying gunplay.
    - Fun and very well done voicework.
    - Fast to level a character up, thus motivating running all the classes and making it easy for friends to get to a similar level quicker, and avoiding the Borderlands style of level disparities that made playing cooperatively a very fleeting and tricky affair.

What I don't really like about it:
    - Lack of difficulty options (most of the game is on the easy side and the AI can be pretty brain dead at a distance).
    - Complete lack of regional chat.
    - While rather large, one wishes the weapon selection was a bit richer, especially in regards to Legendaries.
    - Skill system and character progression can be barely qualified as such. While there's 3 subclasses with 2 specializations each, it simply consists of adding a maximum of 4 perks as one levels up, so the customization options are literally binary. It's a shooting game after all, but still, pretty lackluster. Further, at least one of the specializations on each class will be absolutely useless on flying enemies, so while one can certainly "play their way", it will always be very obvious which spec is the most useful one.
    - The bad thing about all good games: that they end. Some areas are a bit underwhelming and the general amount of them is more scarce than I would like. The real problem I have with D2's progression is more that the two first worlds are great, the third is kinda meh, and the fourth pretty much blends in with the third. And to top it off, past that the campaign becomes a stretched linear set of missions that becomes pretty tedious to complete (I call it the Mass Effect 3... well, effect.). It kinda loses steam one third into the campaign level wise, although the adventures and the core game itself is still entertaining and well made.

Overall though, I've been glued to my computer for the last 3 days, and I've had a ton of fun. I'm really glad to have bought the game, and I'm looking forward to the DLC. Really good game.

After the main story, you have free content left called strikes ( like raids in wow ) , quests, dailies, and world events ( activities) .

Also people seem to misunderstand that games don't need to support their cheating app, their special chat program or whatever random app they seem to think is so important to playing the game. Gave 8/10 because it was still better and more fun than many of the AAA games out since 2010, but it won't be remotely close of getting the love and support that Star Wars franchise received. The gaming industry is seriously going in the wrong direction led by EA, then Activision, then Ubisoft, and so on. The business model philosophy that uses heavy analysis based on data won't survive for another decade in PC gaming industry, and whichever company sticks with it, might get stuck on a blacklist for many consumers in the future. I've stopped purchasing any games from EA for good five years, and now Activision is playing extremely close on the edge.

I was pretty fond of the first Destiny, though it took me some time to warm up to it and there are things about it I never liked, most notably the scummy way they handled the Taken King release and the exceedingly awkward controls on PS3. It had a pretty great soundtrack though.

The thing is, what I like about Destiny 2 is pretty much entirely the fact that it has a PC version. Aiming and shooting feels appropriately smooth and responsive, and load times are much improved. Past that, If i didn't have friends who play it I probably would have abandoned it already. As it is, I received the game and first expansion from a friend and haven't spent one red cent on it. Said friend is also the sort of person that aggressively defends every aspect of a game they like, even one with such an obvious myriad of flaws as this one.

Here's the ugly details. For every thing they sort of improved, there's ten boneheaded things at every level of this game's design, more then I could possibly fit here. Every time I play I discover something new and even more stupid. I can't say I find its low user review score here on Metacritic surprising. There's so much that I'm just going to summarize.

    Pros
    - Primary weapons were improved considerably. They're now, well. PRIMARIES. As in, your main weapon, the thing you get kills with. I've heard complaints about this on reddit, but I like what they did with them. Especially the Vigilance Wing.
    - Less compartmentalization of content. Story and side missions are now properly integrated into the exploration zones.
    - Many more color options for gear.
    - Auto rifles were buffed. This was badly needed.

Cons. Where do I even begin?
    - Though it's hardly terrible, the plot is still very thin, even for an FPS. It's at least more focused and coherent then the first game, but it's written a little too plainly, making Cayde's silliness feel a little too on-point. The extensive background, in particular the obscure literary references offered by some of the Exotic lores, suggests an epic of science-fantasy, grand adventure and the power of friendship. What we get is little more then an episode of a cartoon- admittedly, one that might run on Toonami.
    - On that note, they make even less use of their own lore then the first game did, if that's at all possible. I've never seen a series so afraid to revel in its own worldbuilding.
    - Twelve players in the first game's Crucible PVP was bad enough. But eight? I am so tired of this trend of steadily shrinking player counts in versus games. If I wanted to duel players I'd play a game that has a dual mode. This small team crap is boring. Combined with the disparity in effectiveness between many of the guns, god awful map design and complete lack of any kind of skill bracketing in the matchmaking, you will lose a majority of matches, sometimes to such crushing odds that the match will end early out of pity. Also, it shamelessly rips its gametypes from Call of Duty and Counter-Strike.
    - Why the hell is it only on Battle.net? Did Gabe Newell crap in Bobby Kotick's corn flakes?
    - Also, matchmaking. It's as dumb now as when it was first implemented in Halo 2. It has no place in a PC release.
    - Handcannons were nerfed. This was NOT badly needed. At least not where PVE is concerned.
    - Where the hell is the Last Word? Why ommit any Exotics from the first game at all?
    - You're likely not to get a Sparrow until after you've completed the man story. That's asinine.
    - The Warlock Glide is completely screwed up compared to the first game. I'm not sure what they did wrong but it frequently does not get you to where you need to go.
    - The ledge grab maneuver would be a welcome addition- if it worked 100% of the time. As it is, it's rather finickey.
    - Individual Strikes are no longer accessible from the Director or for that matter from the exploration zones as they should be. Instead, there's only the Strike Playlist. This strikes me as more odd then annoying, but still.
    - In order to increment the Rat King quest, someone else on your team needs to have the quest or the weapon. This isn't mentioned anywhere.
-The ships still don't do anything. They should do SOMETHING, I mean, come on.
    - Three players is still a weird party size. This rule of three thing they have is a bit much.
    - The NPCs at the tower are much more spread out then they were in the first game. You waste a lot of time running around.
    - The Prometheus Lens. Good lord, what were they thinking? If you don't know what I'm talking about, It was a horrendously overpowered laser weapon made available by Xur the first weekend after Curse of Osiris released. that made it so that if you weren't using it, you were guaranteed to lose crucible matches. And even if you WERE, you'd probably still lose, because almost everyone else was using one. It was then nerfed to the point where no one used it anymore.
    - Shaders are now single-use consumables. What?
    - Shadowshot is still next to useless.

Okay, not bad a game. But it's so boring story to play with all along. A game is nothing without a decent story campaing. And a game doens't meaning perfect with awesome graphics. People need something to love, love and embrace it. There is not much things to embrace in this game.

You can play this game if you didn't experience before something like this game but it's not worth too much hope.

I feel like Destiny 1 offers SO much more as far as end game content goes (granted Destiny 1 has had a couple of expansion packs to bring it to that point). Maybe once one or all of the planned expansions release the game will become a little more interesting. As for now, you'll only get about 3 hours of end game content every Tuesday.

    Pros:

    + Great graphics on PC
+ Fun (but short) story mode

    Cons:

    - Shallow end game
    - Gives you the sense that you've hit a wall and cannot progress any further
    - Raids and a lot of the end game content can NOT be completed without a group of friends or a clan (sucks for solo players)
    - Feels almost identical to Destiny 1 in every aspect, but without all Destiny 1 has to offer.

This game is only a 10 if you have a group of friends to play with.

If you have none, then it's definitely a 0.

(The negative reviews definitely speak the truth. But if you have a system that can handle 60+ fps and you think you would enjoy a Halo/Borderlands baby with your friends then I highly suggest getting this game.)

I give this game a 7/10, because while the gameplay itself is fun, action packed and visually impressive (and it runs impressively well), the game has some pretty important shortcomings.

First is the severe lack of many social features. Inviting your friend to a party requires way too many clicks and menu openings, that is, once you find out how to do it in the first place; the process is too long and complicated for something that could be as simple as a chat command. Besides that, there is simply no local/region chat, no custom channels, and no channels for specific purposes (like a lfg chat), there is only a team and fireteam (party, essentially) chat. Furthermore there is no way to browse active clans ingame. These problems all exacerbate the issues I will be getting into next.

Second, after reaching the endgame you will quickly reach a point where the only content that makes sense for you to do, requires you to be in a group. Inconveniently, there is no matchmaker for this content (nightfall strikes and raid). This in itself is not catastrophic, but it would have been nice to have a matchmaker. The real problem lies in the fact that not only is there no matchmaker, there is also no way to actually assemble a group for it ingame, no lfg channels, no lfg player status, nothing. To actually assemble a group, you need to use one of various third party tools. Personally I was tempted to join a clan at this point, to have some more consistent endgame options. You can join a clan through the rather archaic method of applying through a website. However upon joining a clan i realized that there is no clan chat, and thus discovered my clans discord channel. In the end, as a casual player, joining a clan turned out to be more or less joining a lfg channel, however even for that i have to tab out of the game.

Playing through the endgame is an appealing idea to me, however I am not nearly committed enough to the game to jump through all those hoops for the chance on a good time, when I can just play other games instead.

I found the game to be worth the box price, but no more. The game itself is fun, but severely gets in the way of you enjoying it after a certain point. If you think you might enjoy it, i would suggest you buy the base game with no season pass or whatever, and dont buy any silver either, untill you have completed at least one nightfall strike. At that point you should well be able to determine if you want to invest the effort to get into the real endgame, and, potentially, put more money into it.

-Lack of social features(chat), really cripples any form of teaming up,
-No matchmaking for endgame content/ the guided games take to longto set up,
-For the repetitive endgame to work it needs to have choosable dificulities, right now the game is too easy for it to be enjoyable.

Overall a recommended game for someone searching something different on PC. A good blend of PvE + co op and PvP. Usually it's all PvP + forced SP campaign.

If your like this game and want more The Division from Ubisoft is a similar type of game.

I normally don't post game reviews, but seeing all the 0 or 10 reviews I'm hoping that people can see what I feel is an honest review. I played Destiny 1 from the very beginning all the way to the end and picked up Destiny 2 for PC on release. I also play Warframe and consider Warframe and Destiny to be completely different games; it’s like comparing Devil May Cry to Call of Duty.

    Pros

    Pros
-Visually a beautiful game. I often find myself just stopping and admiring the scenery.
-The gunplay feels really good. I love first person shooters and everything about shooting feels really well done to me. Yes, it is very upsetting for my rocket to barely miss the enemy because he lifted his arm up, but great that it’s not just one big hitbox where the enemy is.
-It’s fairly easy to progress. There aren’t any random modifiers on items; if you and a friend both find the same gun they will be the same gun. No hoping for the best rolls on a drop; once you’ve got the item, you’ve got the item. Evens the playing field, no more complaining that your teammates doing better with the same weapon because they have better modifiers on theirs.
-For Destiny 1 players: you can fast travel to select locations when doing patrols. Definitely beats running around the whole area just to get to a certain area. I was really happy not having to run around the dreadnaught all day to alternate between Court of Oryx and finding all the calcified fragments.
-Destiny 1 had an upgrade system where you had to “level up” your items and required additional materials to unlock the upgrades such as relic iron and spinmetal. You could find and collect these resources spawned in random nodes on planets, by doing patrol missions, or by turning in a special currency called legendary marks. If you loved having a large variety of items like I did you would be farming a lot just so you could actually use your items to their full potential.
-You can actually get emotes from bright engrams which you get when you level up. In Destiny 1 if you wanted a specific emote your only choice was spending silver, which cost real-life money.

    Cons
-Features from Destiny 1 didn’t make it into Destiny 2(yet). I’ve heard it was because that once Destiny 1 was released the team who made it went straight into development for Destiny 2 and a different team did the rest of the content for Destiny 1. Strike specific loot, choosing the pvp mode, replaying story missions/strikes at will, daily heroic story missions, and secret patrols are all missing from the game at the moment just to name a few. They’ve recently reintroduced heroic strikes again with the first dlc; no scoring, medals, or modifiers though.

-Pretty much no customization for abilities compared to Destiny 1. You get two skill trees for each subclass. Destiny 1 had many nodes you could mix and match with to create a more unique playstyle with for your character which also affected your stats. In Destiny 2, you can only change your stats via your armor.
-No general chat and the ability to receive whispers is disabled by default. Makes it pretty difficult to find groups if you aren’t dedicated to searching for groups.
-You can’t buy specific weapons/armor from vendors besides 1 item during faction rally. You’re at the mercy of RNG for most items in the game now. No more buying hung jury to wreck PVE content.
-The story isn’t very engaging in my opinion. At least it was better than Destiny 1 where the story upon release was just a mess.
Neutral(These can be seen as pros or cons depending on the players)
-Pvp is much more teamplay focused than Destiny 1. The amount of players in a pvp match was also lowered from 12 total to 8 total so it also feels a lot slower to me.
-Shaders are a single use item that you individually apply to gear to change its color. Similar to Chroma from Destiny 1. Some people complained about this system but I love it. I play about 8 hours a week and I have a ton of shaders. Since they can be individually applied I can make myself look like a great neon rainbow of colors. The only shaders I miss from Destiny 1 are Glowhoo and Ascendant Plane.
    Some other notes
-Destiny 1 had the same amount of strikes on release as Destiny 2. It really sucks that you can’t choose to play individual ones and play through them at random; but it is the same amount as Destiny 1 on release.
-To me, the game is the most fun when you play with your friends. I enjoy challenging myself and soloing the nightfall and the raid entrance; but I really have the most fun doing patrols, strikes, and pvp with my buddies. There’s not a whole lot for solo players in my opinion but that is kind of blanket statement; I think most games can be fun when you have friends to play with.

    Too long; didn’t read
-Destiny 2 is more casual friendly than Destiny 1. No grinding for hours a day every day.
    -Gunplay and visuals are great.
-Not a lot of content for more dedicated players.

I've been playing Destiny 2 since its launch, and I own every DLC released for the game. However, I didn't play Destiny 1 extensively, skipping out on everything after Y1 in that game. This was mostly due to the console exclusivity back then, as I'm mostly a PC gamer.
So, when Destiny 2 came out I know it was time to get back into it.
I will try to list all the pros and cons I've experienced over the years in this game. Bear in mind I have logged well over 900 hrs into D2 according to wastedondestiny (Ironically I don't consider these hours wasted).
    Pros:
-The game is gorgeous and runs well even with old i7 and dated 1070 @1440p 144 hz monitor. Optimized well.
-Thorough graphics adjustments and field of view sliders
-deep and intense lore and world-building if you're into that
-There is SO MUCH TO DO in this game, it can almost be a considered a con for newcomers
-Seasonal content keeps things fresh, while not happening so often that you feel guilty for taking a break (to check out other games)
-Year 3 and Shadowkeep is on the horizon and looks better than ever
-PC has in-game chat and clan / guild system. MMO-feeling
-Plethora of PvE activities to fill all your alien-headshotting needs (and explosions, grenades, space magic)
-Solid gearing system with transmogs on the horizon in shadowkeep (for the fashion endgame)
-Clean and mostly easy to use menus.
-The music and atmosphere is amazing
-The movement and shooting systems are TOP NOTCH. Easily the snappiest 1st person shooter I've played. It just feels right.

    The cons:
-The story is OKish at best, and at times very boring and cliche.
-Loadtimes can be brutally long, even on SSD
-As mentioned earlier, there can almost be too much to do. You can feel overwhelmed at first. As I understand, this will be streamlined a bit in shadowkeep.
-The game can be very random at times concerning weapon and armor drops. You might get the item you want, but it has the wrong stats. This can be frustrating when there are few direct paths to the item you really want. Some people however might consider this a pro.
-Mistmatch between community wants and Developer goals. This happens in all live service games eventually and is not exclusive to Destiny.
-There is an ingame real life cash shop. It is purely cosmetic. However I do understand that some people are put off by "the coolest things" being behind a paywall. This is however very subjective.
-The game has for the most part been balanced for both PvE and PvP in paralell. This means that things might get nerfed for PvE when they were only a problem in PvP (and vice versa).
-PvP has been rather shallow for the last year. There are special events every now and then, but it feels rather stale after a while. If you're mostly into PvP I would not bother at this point.

Finally, I would like to say that this game has been a great comfort to me over the last few years. Sure, it has it's bad sides. Yeah I was tired of it during curse of Osiris. But I always returned. It always served as a nice escape from everyday stress. I could always log on and shoot some badguys and get some sweet loot. Or I could be more of a sweat and team up with other guardians through bungie's looking for group website and do the harder dungeons and raids. It's all there for you if you want.
I have recommended this game to all of my friends who are into looter shooters, rpg's and spacey sci fi stuff. All of them have liked it, but at times the content drought can get too much, or the main campaign is too long and you just wanna play with your friends. Hopefully this will get fixed in shadowkeep and "new light" when the base destiny 2 goes free to play.
I am looking forward to seeing you all in the game.

PS. I would like to add: if you asked me for a review of Destiny 2, 2 years ago I would probably have rated it a bit lower - maybe a 6 or 7. It has steadily climbed over the last year.
Conversely, I would say that anyone that votes this game lower than a 5 at this point is basing their review on old facts and an old state of the game that is no longer representable.

Your a lost cause and a loser company. If you want to play this game prepare to play their way, based on what weapons are broken and classes at the moment. If you go warlock you are supremely phucked. Do not waste your time. This company doesn't know match making, game balance in any way and does nothing but patronize you when you complain. This game is nothing but Asian hackers and guardian services paid carry/players. Right now you can already order flawless runs on every website in the world and all are testing their autoaim and cheat bots in pvp play. GARBAGE game. I have devoted the remainder of my gaming days to killing this damn game and company any way I can. IT IS THAT HORRIBLE. Oh yeah get ready to have people hacking your PC since they cant even setup their own servers and everything is 1990 peer2peer connections. I have my internet disables 10-15x a day from DDOS attacks from this game. Anyyone rating this above a 2 is a 12 year old who goes from free game to free game or hackers with website carry services. There is ABSOLUTELY 0 reason to play this. Pursue X weapon that is useless garbage or broken and once done with those you stand there because there is no other content to this game. Bunkie manipulates XP, loot drops, even hit registry in PVP so 1 game your good and another 9 shots do not register over and over and over. You will never have fair matches. Average is 50+ point gap between teams. If a blue moon does appear and its a good game don't worry because Bunjie will immediately at the end throw all players into a pile and start over with the imbalanced teams. My 9 year old could devise a better system then this archaic, ancient garbage system they use. Fun part is when they whine about "its so much work for us to do". They cry to us at least every 45-60 days about how we are so mean and need to understand how much work they are doing making the next garbage expac that doesn't fix any issue whatsoever. Expand

I have gone over the reviews in here and all I could see were critics done with the knowledge of one moment of the game. So, I take it upon myself as a veteran player to really explain what Destiny 2 is.

Destiny 2 is an MMO RPG Looter Shooter game, with an open world filled with different loot and challenges to chase. It is a very grindy game. You WILL have to play ALL of the game to get ALL of the loot. You CAN'T only play in team, and you CAN'T only solo the game.

With that out of the way, here comes MY opinion.
Firstly, it is necessary to undersand that D2 works in a cycle. All Septembers, we get a great expansion that puts the game in an amazing spot. Then follows an average season, then a poor season, then a great season. You can choose if you play this seasons or just wait for the expansion.
I think this format of giving content, while it is quite annoying, is necesary, as Bungie is working all alone in such a gigantic game, with so many overlapping pieces that makes it extremely difficult to work with.
Secondly, the classes, subclasses, etc. I think the idea behind the powers are original, but I still miss the old customization settings from D1.
Gunplay: I have never played any game in which the guns feel better than in D2. All weapons are amazing and unique. Exotics are the best, of course.
PvE content: If you're actually playing it and not speedrunning it to get to the raids (as many players I've met do) the game is rich in complex lore, mysterious character, beautiful landscapes, complex mechanics, and so on.
PvP content: PvP is, by far, Destiny's worst aspect, as players tend to stick tremendously to the META or hack to win. Nevertheless, it is undeniably a fun experience. In PvP, you have to learn how players respond, how you respond to players, how guns work, how abilities work, and so on.
Loot: If anyone tells you there is no loot to chase in D2, tell them to start playing seriously. D2 is filled to the brim with loot of different kinds, sources, rarities, difficulties, importance, etc.

In conclusion: I believe Destiny is an extremely under-rated game by the players who expect to have everything served to them in a silver plate. Destiny is no easy game, you have to play to win. And if you find yourself unhappy with the current state, i suggest you either take a break or play it anyway, because, in the end, content is content.

In terms of graphics, this triple A game is very well done having gone through a graphic patch since it first came out on PC (thought I wasn't there to see the big change I did see it on Youtuber videos). Even for a high graphics, this game can run on decent gaming laptops, as long as you have a good enough PC it will work fine with very very little lag or bitrate issues. As for storyline, this game is the continuation of Destiny, the first game. Though the lore pretty much calls it "the new light", 'new light' meaning new players(long explanation). It may seem to just throw you into a boat and not tell you how to operate it as some reviews have stated but I disagree. Remember when I said "new light"? Well I'll give a brief explanation as to why its called new light(without explaining 'the light'{thats up to you to find out]). New light refers to new players, as as new player, you have no clue what the game or story will be about. But at the start of the game we see a "companion" waking us up. This companion is important as you find out more about the story, you will find out more about your companion. Upon doing the introduction in the game we get several cutscenes explaining who that companion is and what you are. But remember, put your mind in your characters' shoes, you have no memory of your past and youve just been put under a spotlight as you fight for a purpose you are still searching for slowly but surely. As you learn more about the story, so does your character in a theoretical way(your character learns what they are and so do you). Then the rest of the story progresses through expansions and dlcs in the game, (2 so far that you can purchase).

But why is it 7.5? you may ask. well I also have problems with the game. It may seem like having 2 dlcs you have to buy to progress in the game is a butt load of crap but I disagree. For a company to do this is reasonable and a good marketing ploy: people who want to know more about the game or want to have more fun with it will buy the dlcs. If they like it, they can keep it, if they dont, just refund before 2 hours of gameplay of course. In my opinion the two dlcs are fairly well written story wise. Doing what they did in one of the dlcs was a good move and a good motivator. But for a free content, you only get so much to do, which is not very much at all, after you finish the free expansions the game has, then what? it will just become mundane as you get the repetitive pve events and repetitive grinding.

But then again, "why 7.5? You didnt explain that." Well its already been said, you simply just have to buy the dlcs to enjoy more of the game instead of have all that content in the game already and have the game pay to play. But also keep this in mind, Bungie puts up a new dlc every year, last year it was Shadowkeep, before that it was Forsaken, this year its Beyond Light.

Another few minor reasons is that you will need friends to enjoy some of the difficult parts of the game: the dungeons and the raids, and those contain the good loots. So if you dont have friends who play the game(or friends in general OOF) then you wont be able to play those raids and dungeons. But there are clans and people in game you can befriend as well, finding people is ultimately up to you. The exotics or the rarest weapons and armors in game can drop anytime and some have to be acquired through the raids which again, if you dont have anyone to play with you wont be able to get it, so thats minus a point or so. this game also includes multiplayer game modes for the competitive spirits out there and I say its very chaotic so be prepared, CSgo and COD and all those games may have prepared you for pvp fps skills but the game also requires you to "build" your character, so if you dont build well you will be an easy target nonetheless. otherwise, its still fun to play. For the pve players, its got tons of events you can play in not to mention the raids and dungeons and campaigns/missions.

Going back to story and lore, Destiny has probably one of the most richest lores in gaming that you need hours to fully get all the story, PLUS the ongoing story the game has; it just keeps on expanding. Some technical issues the game has is that it isnt compatible with some streaming softwares, one big one is OBS. graphics optimization is also very good for a PC game that will rarely have problems if you have a decent PC.

But for those who argue that this game is repetitive after some time, let me ask you this, what about other FPS games? CSGO? COD? MW? Fortnite? Moba games like League? DOTA 2? Ovewatch? those games too are repetitive.

Hello. I really like the game. The new addition really brought life to the gameplay. I am a girl and I liked the fact that in the Russian translation they call me a girl, in games this is rare. I was happy with this approach. But after the update, more and more often in the plot and gambit, the offscreen voice refers to me as a man. It upsets me.

Players who frequently quit or are removed from Destiny Crucible or Gambit matches may receive a restriction or ban.
(AGAIN MAKE SURE TO HAVE A GOOD BROADBAND)

For examples of application features that may not be compatible with Destiny 2 on PC, view our Destiny 2 PC and Third-Party Application Feature Compatibility article. (MEANING MAKE SURE TO DO NOT RUN ANY UNKNOW PROGRAM THAT MAY INTERACT WITH DESTINY 2)

Get the game if you want to have some fun, it is free, but because they have automated services that can restrict or ban your account, I advise you to do not put any money into this game, the staff team of this game are really small in compere to a number of the players and if u have an issue and need their help see below their answer:
!!!There are no guarantees that a ban or suspension will be overturned,(nor that the email will be responded to)!!!

The last advise make a new steam account to play this game, I know some ppl play in their work computers and destiny 2 game has an automated software that scan your computer so if u have a software working on the back ground and trigger their anti cheat your account will be done.

    !You were warned!

The key for a game company to success is the way they interact with their game community, sorry Bungie Team, but you guys need to get more staff members to deal with the players and make sure that your staff members are happy. [Link omitted per site rules]

Satisfying combat mechanics, phenomenal soundtracks and beautiful graphics are combined into Destiny 2 - a game that, for the most part, succeeds in making its grinding nature less frustrating.

It’s not perfect, but it’s one of a kind. If you wanted D3 as a first person shooter even with pvp..you got it. And is has a nice atmosphere.

While Destiny 2 has a solid foundation and a robust story campaign, its endgame content feels a little lacklustre. The sandbox doesn't have a whole lot of depth, and plumbing each of the hub worlds for secrets doesn't feel that rewarding. Grinding Public Events, Raids, and Strikes with friends is definitely a lot of fun, but there's a huge disconnect between content being cleared and your character strength increasing. There's still a lot of room for Destiny 2 to grow but, for now, it's still got a few kinks to work out.

In a nutshell, Destiny 2 for PC is the same outstanding game we played on consoles, but even more enjoyable thanks to spectacular visuals, masterful optimization and much more suitable controls. [13/2017, p.75]

Play this great shooter with your friends, it pays off. Then it will offer hours and hours of great fun without the stereotype. But be prepared the endgame will thoroughly test your patience and willingness to grind. [Issue#280]
