I'll start by saying this might be the best PC PORT from console I've ever played. Day 1 launch is perfectly smooth, and no hints of bugs. The presentation here seems Blizzard influenced, which is to say the presentation of this product is flawless. No small feat in today's market! The engine looks amazing and delivers high FPS with no loss in frames on my 1070gtx at 1440p.

And now for why this game is mediocre. First off the game basically plays itself. It is the most entry level shooter I could imagine a modern release being. It plays at about the Doom 2 level of difficulty. Kill things fast dodge left and right, use your abilities. Far too many of the enemies are mindless Zombies who are often un-cleverly spawned into the world, essentially right in front of you with a teleporter beam.
The second problem is the loot and level systems. These are very simplistic, and the numbers make extremely minute differences on gameplay (Youtube these issues if you disagree). The 1-20 leveling system should have just been removed entirely. It serves as a 20 level skill stagger tutorial system that gets disposed of in 10 or so hours of game play never to have any use ever again unless you start a new character. As far as loot goes, there is just nothing to grind for as everything has been balanced so heavily you won't be getting any advantage over other players through item drops. It's hard to get excited about a vanilla loot system. I understand that an intricate loot system creates unbalance, but again where is the fun in everyone having access to all the same stuff?

Lastly despite all the hullabaloo about the countless hours of story in Destiny 2, IT ISN'T COMPELLING! It is all cinematic to the 10th degree, told so that anyone including those with the most extreme attention deficits can follow along. The dialog is so cringe worthy you will have to confront yourself with why you aren't doing something productive.
I've said this in other reviews, but these crazy over the top cinematics the AAA developers keep putting in their games aren't necessary. If you have an incredibly clever well-written story to tell at 100 decibels, by all means use it. But if you are including it just to check boxes it will look sloppy no matter how artistically you glide and swivel the camera around the terrible terrible lines and overused movie memes.

In brief summary, you might enjoy this game if you want a great looking super casual shooter with RPG-ish elements and a 100 decibel 1000 milligram energy drink slammed story that will melt your face off.

The only real positive here is the graphics / art direction. Besides that there's a heavy dose of micro transactions, very little content and somehow it feels even more bland than the first Destiny. This is a game devoid of any passion for the medium, a cynical, uninspired cash grab that should be avoided at all costs.

    The Good:
The story is more developed than the first. I'm a big Firefly fan so it's nice to have Zoey and Mal on board, and Nathan Fillion was the second best part to perhaps the villain.

The visuals are gorgeous. It is mostly stable on my PC. The music...Bungie you blessed sirens.

    The Bad:
    - The gameplay is exactly the same as the first game.
    - The classes are the same (except the subclass is the starting class)
    - The gear, like most FPS Action RPGs, is trivial at best
    - If you even want to consider Competetive PvP you'll be grinding
    - BULLET SPONGES - Enemies are just that. They are not smart. They are not crafty or complex.
    - You do NOT EVER need to use your abilities to succeed in this game. They are afterthoughts.

It's not a terrible game, but it is terribly boring. If multiplayer can somehow change that, that may be it's only saving grace.

Aside from that, there is utterly no community, as it is impossible to communicate with people you don't have on Bnet, so it is very difficult to find a group to play with, if you don't know anybody playing it already. I received this game for free and I am glad I did not pay for it. Its neither good nor bad, but a solid MEH! Its a competent shooter, worth playing through the campaign once. However this game has no soul, it's a by the numbers game using a completely safe game design as not to offend anyone which has resulted in a boring repetitive game.

Initially exciting gameplay with high production value reminiscent of Halo's golden era, but without a healthy community and strange and empty hub level, the premise of levelling and building your character never seems all that important or even interesting and quickly grows old. Destiny 2 would have done far better as an open world MMO than the oddly disconnected thing that it is. Without the involvement of Activision perhaps Bungie might have made something great here. All that money and nothing much to show for it. Instead it's a software-as-a-service masquerading as a first person looter shooter that is neither as rewarding or intriguing as it should be and tries to eek out as much money out of the player as possible with content locked behind paywalls (perhaps to recoup the ridiculous amount of money that went in to marketing it) and that's where it all comes crashing down. As a PC gamer, I've never played the first Destiny game. I jumped into Destiny 2 with my little brother and my friend for a coop campaign and was not disappointed.

Sure, the story is bland, generic, and subtly tries to promote Christianity, but it at least has hilarious and cheerful Cayde. Gameplay is OK. It's not very complex, resembles Borderlands a lot, but at least it's simple.

-Not fashion friendly at all!!!, you are stuck with gear stats that support your abilities and weapons, there is no "re-skin or transmog" -system in place to change the gear appearance.

-Armors are just so damn ugly, just plates sticked together for the most part and since base perks and stats for gear is fixed, it's hard to make a character look the way you'd like him.

-You can wear only 1 exotic gear item and use only 1 exotic weapon at a time, all that stuff you farm for is not even being used like in ANY OTHER GAME with rare gear.
Just let us disable/choose one special perk for one piece and it would be fixed if you think is would brake the game which is already broken balance wise...or.. give transmog at least^^

-A lot of pointless/unbalanced ressources/materials, either way too hard to get (enhancement cores, mod components) or worthless without or almost no use (glimmer, baryon boughs...)

-Exotics are WAY TO RARE now, as a new player it will take years now to get them and you're not safe for dupliocates.

-CAPS!!!! Glimmer cap only 100,000. seriously, increase it!!! shaders 50? postmaster already half full in a few weeks !!! like, what?! increase it!!! like all other caps I can't think of right now!

-Rewards are god awful. Here have one of these, here more stuff to dismantle, here two of those, I feel like I'm dipping my little finger in a sea of rewards. constantly picking daily bounties on every planet that also mostly reward very little. Not to mention as somebody with a life, you're not getting much done and alot of the bounties will be left only halft done before reset! They also tell you how to play and not how you want to play!
Imagine shifting all the bountie rewards to missions/strikes/raids/PvP activities....

    Multiplayer:
-Cheaters not only wallhacking and aimbotting but also do DDOS other players during matches in all kinds of modes. I was attacked a few times. Tools/Tutorials are all over the Net!

-Terrible Matchmaking, no Solo queue option for PvP, beginners are getting destroyd by OP builds and clans. I bet they are scared of the already low pvp player base and it really might take time to get a match for both sides, clan (stacks) and solo but at least more "balance if yu can call it"
Right now it's a terrilbe experience!

-Balance is garbage in this game. No skill based PvP at all, supers with semi god mode and kill everything like Call of Duty killstreaks. Out of hunderest of weapons, it feels like only 10 are being used. (snipers, shotguns, hand cannons and a very few rifles like Bygones are meta) everything else is super bad, beginners will need 20 shots and everyone else 1 or 2 shots with his exotic or legendary with god roll, masterworks and mods for it.

-"Level Advandages disabled" in PvP is a lie, good gear being locked behind level 15-20 or a huge grind, you'll notice this easly on your second or third character if you want to jump on it early and test it. There is a indirect level advantage.

-The game feels empty most of the time for being Multiplayer, alot of instances and solo instances in general, way to many emty public events, all you can do is juming back to orbit and going in again in hope the new instance has some players in it.
The singleplayer camainge needs more random matchups like a few missions have already.
Things like Blind Well need alternative matchmaking, same goes for Raids for people that have already completed the it solo and know what they are doing.
Using third party software or websites for finding people is terrible and takes a lot of time for every activity you do, this should never be the case in any multiplayer game.
Also this is not an MMO like some say, 12 player PvP and 9 co-op...? HA!

    Community:
-Very anti-social community, almost no one uses voice or text chat.
Almost no one is willing to help new players with raids or in any other activity!.

-Community being split up with every new DLC/Expansion and the player base is decreasing because of all the past and present failures.

If taken as a whole, there is very little technically wrong with D2. So why does it tank in reviews? 2 main reasons really(IMHO):
    1, its competent but bland.
2, Bungie have alienated the D2 fan-base with some pretty shady practices. Maybe this was due to it's former partnership with activision, as appears to be the case. Firstly, let me just say I'm not going to needlessly drag a game

2, Bungie have alienated the D2 fan-base with some pretty shady practices. Maybe this was due to it's former partnership with activision, as appears to be the case.

Firstly, let me just say I'm not going to needlessly drag a game because I personally feel let down by it. Game play is fluid and reliable. It is a vast sandbox with plenty to see and do, for the newer player - and there in lies one of the problem. It is a big, glitzy and glamorous experience, as any AAA game on the market. However, whilst doing everything well, there is little that jumps out and "wows" you.

One area that flops entirely is: Comms. You would think that a game that requires you to team up with other players for 70% of the content, would have some well thought out communication system? Well no. Bungie has opted for an extremely ill thought out, or more likely a safe, approach. To avoid the possibility of anyone saying anything that might upset anyone - they've gagged everyone. Want to team up? Good luck doing that in the anti-social "social hubs". You will need to do any comms through a third party app like discord. And this is a massive deterrent for the newer player. All of this content, and they're locked out of it. If by some chance you do find and active clan, more often than not, they will already be established and direct noobs to one of the discord LFGs(looking for group), because they won't be able to inflict damage in raids etc, until above a certain light level. Putting usable communications alone would have done wonders for the game.

Bad faith season passes and content drops: really gets my blood boiling. I am older and have the disposable income to buy a game or two, when I want unwind with friends. But, when some kids has saved up for D2, only to find themselves having to shell out more, every few months. Because the game has adopted a "games as a service" model. Isn't exactly fair to them. They don't pay? They get locked out of new content, and cannot progress to the levels those who paid do. And several months down the line, when Bungie release content that they do want and can afford? Well... they have to buy the other junk content first. This is what I mean by shady practices. I'm not going to get into the Eververse fiasco. No, D2 screwed it's player base 3 months after launch with the "curse of Osiris" release, and saw the numbers tank. It was garbage, that very few liked, on a lonely desolate tiny map with no redeeming features. Since then there have been some great content releases, but the damage was done.

Since the "curse of Osiris" fumble, most content releases have been tepid at best; mainly centering around cheap PvP maps. Bungie still haven't got the message about D2 PvP. Many other free to play games do PvP much better. They have also become a victim of their own massaged figures. Those that play D2 for PvP and or Gambit modes, are a tiny percentage of players, and youtubers/streamers, showcasing their skills. Most players(and all solo players) don't care for going into a PvP map to get fragged by a team, or pro team, sitting "team shooting" them from across the map - and only play these modes because they are forced to complete their weekly milestones. Yet, Bungie, seeing the player count on PvP, think that this is a popular mode. IT IS NOT BUNGIE. It's an awful "click fest" on a cramped map, that you have told them they need several hundred kills on, for a quest step. But, because they are solo queuing, and getting team shot, takes them forever. Bugie then takes these "forced attendance" figures, and thinks, "they must really like PvP, we'll give them more". They don't! They're hostages lol. Making death match levels for doom and quake(years ago) was something we did over night to play with mates the next day. The assets already exist, you just plug them together, test it, and bingo - free content. We didn't take 3 months and charge each other £20 for it. It's lazy, and an insult to paying customers. Remove the need to play PvP for these quests, and you will see the real numbers.

Most of the players today are wanting to explore the world, find new stuff, Lore, and love the story. They can clearly spot when a character from the lore has been shoe-horned in as an excuse to provide a low effort, cheap, recyclable content to charge extra for. You ask them to solve some amazingly difficult, and well thought out puzzles in raids etc(that Destiny does better than anywhere else), but think they can't see this? I hemorrhages players, and is exploitative to the younger player. Don't rob kids for heaven's sake. Then have the cheek to harp on about equality, diversity, and inclusion. You cheapen those meaningful terms for profit.

It is a good shooter, but its a bad service. It is positioned as a game for hundreds of hours, but it doesn't have so much content to actually fill those hours. After completing the story, the side missions, probably some lost sectors, trying out PvP, playing though every raid (maybe even a couple of times)... there is pretty much nothing to do. Running around the open environments randomly killing enemies doesn't count, simply because it is too boring for such a shooter. And all the things listed are generally completed within around 30-40 hours. Buying the expansions can prolong that by another 20-30 hours (that is inaccurate). However, that is not enough to get fun for hundreds of hours.
Another issue is plot. And here i'm talking about both the main story, and stories for side missions. You can forget about the latter - it's simple "the enemy is doing something bad there, go there and kill everyone". The main plot can be rated 5/10.
All in all, it is a decent science-fiction Doom. Nothing more.

It does not necessarily suck, but in no universe could this ever be considered fun. After (for some stupid reason) putting 150+ hours into this game, I have not once played a single match of pvp without feeling the urge to pull all my hair out. The meta is so strongly defined by equipment that either comes extreme endgame or hours and hours of grinding a single mission since the drop rates are so obscure. To put it simply, until you obtain these game-breaking items, there is no way you are ever going to have a good time in pvp. Out of hundreds of weapons and armor pieces to choose from, you are guarenteed to see maybe 3 different ones in play in pvp and even pve. It's unbelievable, and the developers sure take their sweet time between patches, leaving players with a mediocre experience for months at a time. It is a huge problem when players have been asking for changes and complete reworks to many of the games essential elements such as the ammo economy and supers. Supers are completely overpowered in both pve and pvp. They go from granting your entire fireteam invincibility for a long period of time or completely eliminating the need to reload. In pvp supers are going off constantly, and if you don't have a super to counter one on the enemy team, you are completely hopeless and will sometimes be killed more than once by the same guy in the same super. I can safely say avoid pvp at all costs. Unless you enjoy having a miserable grinding experience with terrible story progression for a price that this studio has some serious audacity asking for, I strongly advise avoiding this game and all its expansions until you find one hell of a discount. As long as you're into PVE, it's a good game. If you like PVP, be prepared for a bunch of sweaty, tryhard virgins who haven't seen sunlight in months as they kill you with The Recluse, teabag you, then insult your mother.

The only problem with PVE is anytime a great weapon comes along, Bungie nerfs it. Other than that, PVE is very fun.

Once i was checking what kind of free to play games Steam is offering. I saw that Destiny 2 is free and i downloaded the game. It turned out to be a great game. The multiplayer feature is made pretty well, but i didn’t quite enjoy the Curse Of Osiris and Warmind. The main story was ok. So what do i think about the game. It’s a good game from Bungie and it gets 8/10 from me.

It's a minor annoyance for an otherwise outstanding experience. The game is running brilliantly with my i7 4790K and GTX 960 SC, constantly staying at 60 FPS aside from the occasional dip to around 55 FPS.

The endgame is a little lackluster at the moment, but seems promising. My biggest complaint at this point (besides the intermittent game crash that happens) is the lack of a "Local" chat. It's way too hard to interact with other players that aren't already friends.

This game has been half-assed from the beginning but still our friends managed to drudge online for a raid or to play the SIVA event after maxing out our characters.

Destiny 2 had a great, short-lived story with cinematics and all that...then it was over. You moved to multiplayer events and it was the same or worse and became a drudge faster than Destiny 1. I can't even imagine where to begin with the PC version other than it's a platform full of aimbot hacks you can purchase and other cheats. That's just the cherry on the cake of another Bungie game that was rushed or half-assed just to comply with a 3 game contract. The employees are liars and Deej is the biggest one. I think we need a raid to kick Deej's ass for making this game sound more than it actually is.

This game is in a a 5 alarm 911 state and I predict the PC version will die faster than the console version...and it will die with inept Bungie employees sitting around a table scratching their asses wondering if this is a game they would actually be excited to play themselves. I don't really think so. Fix it or get out of the software business. You make great guns but that's about it.

While it does look better than its console counterpart (which PC versions always should), its low quality visuals even when maxed, and random frame drops are dead giveaways of a pretty mediocore console port.

The game itself is extremely repetitive, with dry, boring voice acting and dialogue to boot. The FPS elements aren't as tight as pure FPS games, and the RPG elements aren't as deep as RPG games. It tries to cover a lot of ground but doesn't make a very good effort at making how it covers that ground interesting. It plays like a Korean F2P title with a Western skin. Every time I booted it up, I felt like someone had injected me with a tranquilizer. There is nothing remotely redeeming about this game. Not even coop with friends could save it.

Game aesthetically looks nice but is held back by MMO BS, if Bungie created a game that wasn't based on leveling or crappy MMO mechanics they would do great. Like there are no particles in the air or somesuch. There are just two scenes in the game that made me feel wow - the upclose sun and Pyramidion strike (inside).

Audio - weak. Gunshots are bleak and uninteresting. Enemy sounds, environmental - nothing to write home about.

Class mechanics - played only 1 of 3 classes, but tried all 3 subclasses. They're practically indistinguishable. There are only 2 abilities - grenade and ult. And that's for all classes and subclasses. Warframe has dozens of "classes", each having a passive and 4 distinct abilities, along with Operator abilities and passives.

Mobility - compared to Warframe - very weak. No special hits on slide, no diving on enemies, no rolling on the ground.

Weapons - weak. Extremely limited variance. Very limited tactical modding like choosing a scope, etc. Mostly ugly weapon models. There are some good ones for Exotic quality though.

Story - weak. 5 year olds might get excited, though. Zavala is voiced by the FBI chief from Fringe, and I love that man's voice but it's mismatched for Zavala. Every time Zavala speaks I cringe and notice how that voice is a bad fit for him.

Social part - VERY BAD. No talking to other players, no matchmaking for nightfall strikes, raids.

Music - doesn't get on my nerves and I'm very picky, and sometimes (on Nessus) it's really good.

The only good thing I can mention is, despite all that, it's kinda fun to do brainless shooting of hordes of enemies on some missions.

Also cannot purchase the game as a gift to someone, Blizzard shop tells me it's not allowed for my currency. Well done, guys. Billion dollar companies and all that.

The graphics are good, the music is awesome... The rest is kind of meh.

First big problem with the game is that the social part is almost absent. There are two hubs where people can hang out but there's no global chat or local chat on the planets (something you could use to tell new people how to make an encounter heroic, for example). No group finding interface at all (although not too much content is available at release and there is no reason to choose a particular strike because they all give rewards from the same pool). The developers seem to be of a "It doesn't matter what you're farming, if you're farming" mindset.

And the second problem is that the game offers nothing in terms of gameplay that has not been done better before it. Borderlands did the RPG/FPS part much better with more unique skill trees, a better variety of weapons and enjoyable platforming. Any MMORPG did the mass multiplayer better. Lots of games did story better.

So the only thing that remains is a multiplayer RPG/FPS. And to be good at that Destiny just needs to be much more multiplayer-friendly. Assuming you're doing campaign/all the good exotic quests and have no friends who also bought the game, you'll spend about two thirds of your time alone.

The game it self is a solid shooter, but for kids. If you want anything better go play the Division. in 1.8 its about 10x better for content and social aspects. if the Division was a action FPS like destiny 2, I would never even bother with destiny 2 in the first place.

The great story ? what ? who cares about story its a grind game. if any one plays this game for story you have low standards.

to bad I have to give this a solid shooter such bad score. The technical aspect is a 9 or a 10! but the social design is total garbage made for sensitive like kids that should go play Nintendo.

An absolute cash grab and wasn't worth 1/rd the price they changed for the season pass. The core game though I thought was okay. They included a decent amount of content and it was pretty good story. It was grindy and bullet sponge was a huge headache but I thought it was well done.

The quests are so/so at best feeling like they were thrown in at the last minute to draw out the time to level. The level 20 grind is so horrible, It does nothing to show you whats next after the cap. Go do events or play PvP, that's all they really push you to.

I looked at all the planets and didn't see the word "strikes". I got bored and left. Because of this aimlessness you won't feel invested. If you do take a break, even for Christmas or a family holiday, when you come back chances are your character will look like crap because the armors and characters are so ugly so there won't even be that to give you some sense of investment. You'll find characters with guns and so many missions each that there'll be no focus to carry you forward, which was why I stopped playing for a while in the first place, but absence doesn't make the heart fonder, it just makes it worse. The beginning was phenomenal because they gave us glimpses into life outside the city, beautiful panoramics, and serious challenges to overcome. Then it turns into everyone loves me power fantasy throw fireballs at the bad guy and never fail again.

As far as gameplay goes, it is bare bones minimum. There are three player classes which have three subclasses each with 4-5 five abilities. These abilities have such long cooldowns that it really doesn't set the classes apart most of the time. The gunplay is satisfying, but one quickly discovers most guns perform worse than the few good stat combination ones.

The level quality is inconsistent. Earth and titan look amazing while io and nessus are boring balls of dirt with bits of metal poking out every once in a while. With only a small handful of dailies, strikes (co-op dungeon runs for 1-3 people), and pvp modes/arenas, there is little content to keep people going towards the end goal of a 305 average gear score once the story and side quests are done.

I give this a 5/10. It's decent, but it is not $60 decent. It has so much potential it's painful, but has difficulty living up to the hype.

I would give this a ten. But, I gave this a nine because of the PvP. It is very unbalanced. Other than that, everything else is very good. The story is very in-depth. The game is also rewarding for people who play together. Another thing is: do not listen to user reviews that give it a 5 or below. This is before Bungie took full control, and Activision was messing everything up. Bungie, finally getting the rights to it, but everything back in place. One more thing is that this game's story? Not just the end to it. Much more to do, as I said. One of the best is hunting for lore: there is lore to be found through triumphs, looking around, and it reveals things not many people know. This game is one of the best I have played, and I do recommend it to all. Plus, it is a good game for tweens wanting to start playing teen games. Expand

Why is there aim Assist on PC. Is it for retar.ded people? The number of people complaining during PC beta wasn't enough to change it? Not worth buying at all.

Destiny 2 = Copy and paste to the max.

If you love Destiny than man oh man you are going to love Destiny 2 unless your sick of playing Destiny 1 because Destiny 2 is Destiny 1!

The campaign can be beaten in under a day, enemies are all in a set spot with no interactions with the world just waiting for you to come.

But it sure is a fun game, after the campaign... it's "story rich" Campaign leaves a lot to be desired, with it being only about 10 hours long, if that. The villain is actually rather bland, they could have done more with his inner conflict but chose to leave that out of the game? I don't know why, on the surface he is a conflicted villain who wants to obtain the light the "right way" but then chose to do it by force... huh? He wanted to go against his teacher's teaching and then decides to just say screw it I'll do it the wrong way, very confusing. Also I think the only character I actually cared about in the campaign was the Cade and his trusty sidekick Colonel Chicken. I think the only game that I've beaten the story mode faster in was mortal kombat X (In one sitting) Destiny only took me two sittings. Campaign was quite lackluster.

Alright now we are getting to the juicy goodness of Destiny 2. If you have a friend that plays PC, you better tell him/her to get this game right now, it is the best CO-op experience on the market with the PvE format, nothing comes even close to what Destiny 2 can do. The strike missions are the icing on the cake and the goal of all Destiny players to complete, the prestige mode is also a welcome challenge to the game that I hope to get to come day... Which leads me to my next topic... The grind... is very real, it might be the reason why the campaign was so short (maybe it was like a tutorial for the real game actually...). If you don't like grinding, just get out now, there is no game for you here. Those that do however, you are going to get such a rush when you get the one armor piece that you've been grinding for hours to find and when you get it, the feeling is like magic, for real, you feel like you're on cloud nine, there's nothing else like it in any other FPS.

Okay, now time for the dumpster fire that is PvP, seriously, what were they thinking? Is the matchmaking run by baboons? How come In PUBG I can match up with nearly 100 players instantly, when in Destiny 2 it not only takes 2 minutes, but I get matched with three randoms vs a group of four in a clan... seriously? How is this even possible? And don't even get me started on the Aim Assist problem, come on really? If you need a controller to play a FPS on PC than why did you buy the game on PC in the first place!?!?!?

*sigh* Okay, the rant is over. I have to give credit where credit is due to the developers of this game... Vicarious Visions, these guys deserve an award for bringing a game that was meant to be played with a mouse and keyboard to the PC, these guys have done a phenomenal job for making the PC version of this game beautiful, and I don't get enough credit for this achievement in video gaming history. From a technical standpoint, this is how a good game on consoles can be infinitely better on PC, thank you Vicarious Visions, for setting an example for the game development community.

You may be pondering on the score of 7/10, and I was thinking about it myself... doesn't just mean that the game is average? Barely passing? It means both of those things, but it also means that there is room for improvement as well. Destiny 2 in it's current state is an average game but with incredible potential, so many things are locked behind closed profit doors. Will I probably open those profit doors? Yes, yes I will. Battlefront 2 is making steps in the right direction saying that ALL DLC will be free. I hope Bungie's dip in profits from the last Destiny show them that most of the gaming community will not stand for this kind of pay more to play more scheme, it worked with EA, why not Bungie? Come on guys, you are so close, just make the DLC free and everyone will play your game till the end of time. Just make the DLC free and this score will instantly go up 2 points.

Don't believe people who say that they got banned for using these programs, bungie even made an official statement saying discord and shadowplay are safe to use.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. I like the game, the campaign is fine, PVP is fine but what really makes me like the game is the soundtracks and how they use them in the game and they are epic soundtracks but only when used correctly basically if Bungie put a soundtrack at a random time where its dull and nothings happening its useless but when you put the right soundtrack at the right time you feel excited and ready for anything, for example, the mission where you reclaim the subclass that you used at the first mission aka the one where you spawn in front of a place with a lot of fire or "Homecoming" you used (gunslinger for hunter, voidwalker for warlock and striker for titan), so back to the point in that mission a soundtrack called "inner light" plays and I think its a great soundtrack used in the right time but if you used it in orbit it will be useless so that one of the reasons I gave this game an 8 and if I was critic I would give it an 80-85. This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Bungie's new instalment of the Destiny franchise, Destiny 2, seems to come with a lot of controversies.
The game is basically a large extension of Destiny and it brings the game to a new port, which for me was huge as a PC player. I will subdivide some genres to make clear the strong and weak points of this game.

    -Story-
The story of Destiny 2 is a very simple one. Basically, after defeating some of the darkness in the first Instalment, some new threat had to be implemented to become a large enough deal to work a story around. However, it felt rather spontaneous and not very persistent. For example; your special powers as a guardian are being taken away in the first mission, only to regain it within the next hour of gameplay, this makes it feel as though the game's story is dismissible at first. The story implemented in Destiny 2 feels as though it was meant to introduce you to the new world of play so that you can better start off at your maximum level with slight area knowledge. The story is not the selling point of this game, therefore I'd like to stress that this is in fact not that big of a deal to anyone who bought Destiny 2 for the right reasons. Overall the story felt serious enough to do, yet dismissible enough not to properly remember.

    -Gameplay and Classes-
Once again they use the same classes as the first instalment, Warlock, Titan and Hunter. Each is specialised in their own traits (as the classes imply) and feel very unique. I have to give a straight A for this class system. The classes give a strong sense of uniqueness and are powerful in each of their subclasses when used correctly. For example, a Warlock can become a Stormcaller, Voidwalker or Sunblade. Subsequently, these classes are good at Mob management, Boss nuking, and PvP combat.
This makes neither of all the subclasses ever feel unnecessary or useless.

How the gameplay feels is very much based on how well you know your class. Someone who is great at playing Destiny 2 will find the Gameplay extremely smooth and satisfying and someone who is not will likely find it very difficult or rough. Though this does decrease the accessibility to crowds that are not about serious gaming. Overall the Gameplay feels rather smooth.

    -Loot and Rewards-
There are several rewards that you can earn in Destiny 2 for doing several things. The most common reward at max level is engrams. Engrams are random items of a certain rarity that you have to go and 'open' at a vendor. You can earn these rewards by completing set challenges, milestones, or obtain them at random by doing anything in the world. Overall I like the looting system as it feels very rewarding to those farming it and playing the game actively. The exotics feel a little less exciting than they used to, however, they are on a different power scaling than they used to be, allowing for more versatility in gear sets, as you can only equip one exotic of each type (armour and weapons).

    -Performance and visuals-
    Now here's the tricky bit
Destiny 2 looks amazing and has great graphics all-around, however, there are a few issues.
One of these is a very serious one that I'd like to stress; namely, the memory leak issue when (which is always) the game fails to load the Clan roster. It will keep reloading this action into your memory until it is virtually full and you have to restart the game. Also, there seems to be a screen tearing issue when going above 60 fps in this game. However, the game is very well optimized for PC and gets great performance and FPS overall even on higher settings.

    -Community-
The community of an MMORPG Action game is - as any real RPG player knows - almost the most key part of such a game. Destiny 2 consists in my experience out of extremely helpful people and people who are willing to spend the time to make an effort towards a conjoined goal. I have rarely seen such a laid-back, yet serious gaming community. I must say the game's overall community seems to be a nice bunch to be around. Lots of dancing, but also lots of monster slaying!

    -Post Scriptum-
I see a lot of negative reviews here and I looked deeply into a few of them, it seems they all have not played more than 1-5 hours. I urge you to not attach too much trust into these reviews as they are likely biased and incorrectly researched.

Thank you for reading if you got this far and I hope to see you on the Leviathan soon.

The gameplay is very arcadey and involves fighting off hordes on a regular basis. There's a number of various baddies, but the gameplay is incredibly easy throughout the game. You could pretty much watch a youtube video of gameplay to find out whether or not you'd like the game, because if the gameplay doesn't look fun to you, then you won't like it. For me though, it's because of the constant hordes of enemies that I'm able to enjoy it, because it keeps me engaged. But it certainly won't be everyone's fancy.

The baddies have weak points, (mostly headshots), to give you the extra gratification of landing your shots. And when they die they tend to explode in a manner that's similar to the grunt birthday headshots. There are some bullet sponge bosses, which I generally find boring to fight, so I tend to avoid them when I can since they're mostly tied in to public events you can do simply to level up and get loot.

The graphics are for the most part, pretty damn good. They're certainly not hyper realistic by any stretch, but they're generally gorgeous to look at. On a 1070, I'm able to play the game at max settings at 1080p with over 100 FPS on a mere I7 2700. So I consider the game extremely well optimized. I rarely ever encounter significant frame drops.

As far as weapons go, there are a ton of them. And I've really been loving that. It keeps the game interesting by having different means to eliminate your creeps. I find they all look pretty cool and most of them sound pretty satisfying. Balance seems to be all over the place though and can be tough to gauge in the campaign since you can get drops that yield some pretty significant differences in DPS values. The higher level weapons can also have special perks which sometimes provide significant bonuses to a weapon. You can also collect and wield special weapons like rocket/grenade launchers, sniper rifles, swords and shotguns, though you need special ammo to use them that only drops on occasion.

The main campaign and story is the main source of disappointment for me. The story, in my opinion, is just really, really lame. You play as a guardian who due to space magic known as 'The Light', is capable of coming back to life after every death. This is a major frustration for me, because it cheapens the plot and dialogue. Whenever people start talking about any sort of risk or uncertainty all I can think is, "I'm **** immortal. It doesn't matter. The job's gonna get done one way or another." It's basically having 24/7 god mode. I don't have any issue with it as a gameplay element, it's just that as a plot device it completely nullifies any sense of vulnerability or danger. And naturally there's a villain who's trying to capture the light for himself so he can be an unstoppable, immortal tyrant over the galaxy. Cuzz, duh. That's what cookie cutter bad guys do.

As far as the levels and actual missions go, it's a format somewhat similar to mass effect in that you can go to different worlds, (there's only 5), that you can travel around freely in, which are filled with various adventures and a campaign mission on each of them. The world's certainly aren't massive, but they're a decent size. They're designed in a way that makes the combat mostly close to mid range.

There's a varying number of players you'll find in a level that you can interact with. They're locked out of campaign missions and certain quest parts, but you can do public events with them. I find it pretty cool, but with even a few other players the public events are absurdly easy mode, especially with the unlimited, low cooldown respawns.

The multiplayer is where the real replayability is at. It's essentially Halo PC with a bunch of extra features. You can bring guns you've collected from the campaign into multiplayer with you, but they don't come with the DPS stats, so everyone's weapon is the same in that regard. However, you do get to take advantage of whatever special perks you weapon has. Some weapons are much stronger than others, so you do run into disadvantages if you don't play as much or get lucky drops on certain guns. For the most part though, different guns come with different strengths and weaknesses.

You can also use you special weapons, but you require special ammo that spawns at opposite ends of the map with a timer. People mainly use rocket launchers, which are essentially 2 free kills. If the enemy gets both power weapon spawns, it's often very frustrating. Supers, which usually unlock only once per match, are jacked abilities that can net several kills in one go. When the enemy gets 4 in a row, before you can be death locked by chained insta kill combos.

I'd personally prefer the game much more if it had a mode without power ammo or supers, as I believe they cheapen the skill/competitive component by granting free, easy mode kills in quick, chained succession.

Also the retarded complaint saying my game crashes every 15 minutes, it means ur pc doesn't meet the required specs. First if you ever buy a pc AAA game, ur gonna need to take a look at the minimum specs because games these days need a lot of power, and some people think there uncles laptop form 2005 can run a very heavy game like destiny 2. Also saying the game has nothing too offer, there's a lot more then the main story, you have adventures, strikes, lost sectors and raids, the list goes on. As said the gun play is just the best, it's not like cod where you go around like an idiot looking for a 2 shot kill, the pop and pve is a fair balanced experience making the gun play so good.

The music is enjoyable as well and matches up with the several different planets available to explore, which as stated are unique and very pleasing on the eyes. Combat is somewhat tedious at times but is very fluid, and although weapon variety is somewhat lacking the guns available are likable and fun to use. The story is not strong, rather mediocre, but with the continuation in DLC and the main focus not being the story I still think there is potential here because the world is mostly lively and fun to travel about. Game is unbelievable and for people saying its boring....maybe its not your type of game. Don't use dumb excuses such as crashing to rate it a zero just because your PC cannot handle it. Great game, lots of expansion to come.

I know some people are getting banned and that would tick me off too. I haven't had any issues so far. The graphics are insane, really nice eye candy. I know some of you haven't played the first one since it was on console. But the Destiny games are a ton of fun. I would highly recommend giving it a shot. I'm playing with GTX 1080 and the 4k is really cool Expand

Screw haters Destiny 2 is the best shooter I've played since god damn goldeneye on the 64. #Hatersgetout better than diddy kong racing and call of duty put together. If you don't buy this game you're a lolly polly. 12h campaign is great fun if you have friends that is! note this game is not for lonely **** and most of the haters are prob **** they dont have friends to play with so thatScrew haters Destiny 2 is the best shooter I've played since god damn goldeneye on the 64. #Hatersgetout better than diddy kong racing and call of duty put together. Quality Port runs great graphics are top notch tons of collectable weapons and gear. the game STARTS when you beat the game campaign which can take the average player 14h. cant wait for the new raid soon and sparrow racing! Allow me to build this turd sandwich for you one layer at a time, like Bungie did:

*Broken on release *Nothing fixed in subsequent 2 years *Constant barrage of MTX *Pay to win PVP (your level is locked to a lower one if you don't pay $60USD/year) *Almost no appreciable content till very recently and even then it costs more than AAA pricing *Launched on steam without enough servers

*Launched on steam without enough servers for 1/4 the playerbase
*No support whatsoever offered for any Bungie title or product
*Game is currently unplayable for over 60% of the playerbase with up to 30% unable to access their saved games

Just avoid this mess. Bungie IS activision these days, just without the QA budget.

I had a blast playing Destiny 2 today with my friends. The visuals and art design are stunning, gameplay is just amazing, optimisation is great. I don't know what people want from games nowadays, but I already got a ton of positive emotions from the Destiny 2. And I know I barely touched the surface of the game. GJ, Bungie.
I'm gonna drop a full review later, but it's not likely at all

Update: 3 days in and still going strong. It's a pity that console players can't let us just enjoy the game and continue to sink this game in hate and 0-scores.

While Destiny 2 has a solid foundation and a robust story campaign, its endgame content feels a little lacklustre. The sandbox doesn't have a whole lot of depth, and plumbing each of the hub worlds for secrets doesn't feel that rewarding. Grinding Public Events, Raids, and Strikes with friends is definitely a lot of fun, but there's a huge disconnect between content being cleared and your character strength increasing. There's still a lot of room for Destiny 2 to grow but, for now, it's still got a few kinks to work out.

In a nutshell, Destiny 2 for PC is the same outstanding game we played on consoles, but even more enjoyable thanks to spectacular visuals, masterful optimization and much more suitable controls. [13/2017, p.75]

Play this great shooter with your friends, it pays off. Then it will offer hours and hours of great fun without the stereotype. But be prepared the endgame will thoroughly test your patience and willingness to grind. [Issue#280]
