Nov 3, 2017PC is without a doubt the definitive way to play Destiny 2, if you have a system that can handle what the game demands of it. Now that the game has launched across the board, updates and new content will be available on all platforms at once, so PC players don’t have to worry about being left behind. As long as Bungie continues to support the game and ensure that the PC community isn’t ignored in favor of the PS4 or the Xbox One family of systems, Destiny 2 is a game that I will be playing religiously for years to come.
-
Nov 3, 2017Overall, Destiny 2 on the PC is visually and control-wise a far superior version of the game when compared to the console version. The same content exists for both, but the visual flexibility/beauty and control comfort completely goes to the PC. If you have the means to dig into it on the PC, then you should go that route. If you don’t, the console version works just as well.

CD-ActionJan 10, 2018In a nutshell, Destiny 2 for PC is the same outstanding game we played on consoles, but even more enjoyable thanks to spectacular visuals, masterful optimization and much more suitable controls. [13/2017, p.75]
-
PC PowerPlayDec 1, 2017There is a lot of very satisfying shooting to be found in Destiny 2. [Issue#268, p.54]
-
Nov 10, 2017The PC version of Destiny 2 replicates the amazing gunplay the first game is known for. The visuals are gorgeous and the environments are so expansive that there is hours worth of exploring to be done. There is a huge amount of content to keep players entertained and almost all of it can be replayed with worthwhile rewards to be gained. This title lives up to its predecessor and has surpassed it in almost every way. For those looking for a casual shooter with a great story or for those who want to challenge themselves in raids and competitive PVP, this title caters to a wide audience making it a great experience all-round.
-
Nov 2, 2017With the availability of multiple control schemes, top-notch visuals, and more extensive customization of your play and control experience, the PC version of Destiny 2 is an excellent way to play the game, especially if you have yet to try Destiny 2.
-
Nov 2, 2017There are holes in the tapestry for sure, and your mileage will vary depending on what you expect to get out of the experience, but ultimately Destiny 2 is a likeable grind-fest designed to be built upon, that demands very little in return for the fun it offers when played with friends and taken for what it is.
-
Oct 29, 2017The complete package with a good price / performance ratio leads us to a total unchanged judgment compared to what was written in the console review.
-
Oct 26, 2017Though it is held back by a severe lack of social options and PC-specific sandbox tuning, Destiny 2 on PC looks and feels like the best version of one of the best games of 2017.
-
Oct 25, 2017With a better story, better characters, QoL improvements, and more interesting and varied missions, Destiny 2 was a better game than its predecessor on consoles, and it is even moreso on PC. This is the definitive Destiny 2 experience, offering 4K visuals at 60fps or higher with smoother and more precise controls.
-
Oct 28, 2017Destiny 2 on PC is an ingenious Borderlands-style loot-based shooter that will delight you for hundreds of hours - if you'll allow it.
-
Oct 28, 2017Destiny lands on PC with everything a PC user can ask for and more. Great control, amazing optimization, and all the good and the not-so-good things of the series.
-
Oct 25, 2017The unlocked framerate is the real game-changer in Destiny 2. Overall, it looks stunning, but Activision should have better presented the lore of this series to the new PC community.
-
Oct 24, 2017Whether I’m popping Cabal heads, tossing grenades, or making swift 180 degree turns, the game feels outstanding to play.

Nov 27, 2017Destiny 2 on PC is the best way to experience the game in terms of its visuals and, for those who prefer to use a mouse and keyboard, in terms of control as well. If you're already playing on a console, I don't think these advantages are enough to recommend migrating to the PC unless you have friends playing on PC that you'd like to join. The journey through the game's campaign will provide you with plenty of gameplay for your money, especially for a shooter, as long as you take advantage of the numerous side missions and activities along the way rather than trying to push your way to the end as quickly as possible. How much more mileage you're able to get out of the game beyond that will depend a lot on you. If focusing on your power level will be your prime motivation for playing, then you'll likely find the game to be a grind. When I play Destiny 2 beyond the final mission, I jump into a Strike, play a few matches of multiplayer in the Crucible, or take part in whatever current game event happens to be going on. The game has kept my interest in that way, but I can see how the daily player who's focused on equipment drops may get a little frustrated by the slow pace and grind of the end game. If you're interested in playing the game, I'd certainly recommend it as you'll get your money's worth out of it, even if you eventually tire of the experience.

Nov 2, 2017The PC version of Destiny 2 is everything the game already offers, only better: the loading times are less frustrating, and the graphics really benefit from the extra power of the most recent video cards (framerate, details...). Unfortunately, some of the deplorable connectivity errors already experienced on console found their way on PC as well.

Game World Navigator MagazineDec 30, 2017There is one major caveat, and it’s the amount of content. You’ll keep seeing the same dynamic events over and over; same goes for PvP maps. Not to mention there’s only one raid, and it accommodates only 6 people. Still, Destiny 2 remains a fun Diablo-like FPS, and it works surprisingly well on PC, so if you’ve skipped console-only Destiny 1, it’s definitely worth a look. [Issue#225, p.42]
-
Nov 10, 2017I’m officially a fan, and having Destiny 2 on PC is exactly what I’d hoped for all along.
-
Nov 3, 2017Destiny 2 is an excellent game on consoles, but this is the best version.
-
Oct 31, 2017This is the best version of Destiny 2 thanks to a lot of graphic settings and the astonishing 60 FPS.
-
Oct 27, 2017If you're after an infinite action RPG then Destiny 2 is a few DLC packs and expansions away from that, but if you're after a regular light dose of beautiful sci-fi shooter fun, the perfect post-pub co-op jolly, or the game that will have your fireteam shouting in joy at your monitors when a raid boss goes down, Destiny 2 is a very well-made shooter and one of the best co-op games on PC.
-
Oct 24, 2017Destiny 2 is clearly better on PC with improved visuals and a much sleeker gameplay when you aim with a mouse, the only drawback being that you need quite a tough PC if you really want to push the graphics to the max.
-
Nov 12, 2017A co-op FPS by nature, by being structured and marketed as MMO, Destiny 2 unavoidably gets compared to games from both genres. Its MMO side is simply insufficient due to the lack of content. If Bungie could adopt the subscription model, this game would have simply been just an expansion of the first one, as they are as close to each other as World of Warcraft expansions are to each other. However from the FPS standpoint, Destiny 2 is ticking many boxes. It is correct in its core mechanisms, it has juicy gameplay and it is a worthwhile title that should have been a bit more ambitious with its design.
-
Nov 1, 2017Destiny 2 is already a good game on consoles, but it's almost perfect on PC.
-
LEVEL (Czech Republic)Jan 2, 2018Play this great shooter with your friends, it pays off. Then it will offer hours and hours of great fun without the stereotype. But be prepared the endgame will thoroughly test your patience and willingness to grind. [Issue#280]
-
Nov 2, 2017Destiny 2 on PC makes you feel as though the series really always belonged on the computer. The extra level of detail in each nook and cranny, the fluid, fast-paced and incredibly accurate movement thanks to the control set-up coupled with high framerates, and the support Destiny 2 has for multiple GPU and monitor setups really drive home that Bungie and Vicarious Vision made Destiny 2 its own on PC.
-
Oct 31, 2017PC gamers needn’t worry they missed the first game, as the superior sequel’s endless loops of addiction feel far more honest and rewarding than the flawed original.
-
Oct 24, 2017The PC version comes with the usual suite of graphic and control options, and ran smoothly on our test PC built around a GTX 1070.
-
Nov 17, 2017Bungie dropped the ball on loot in Destiny 2, but even despite this and some other jarring drawbacks, the game is solid. It amazes you with excellent shooter mechanics and smart enemies, blinds you with colorful explosions and splashes of super abilities, enthralls you with breath-taking vistas and intricately designed weapons. Even the dumb story has a flipside — you will laugh yourself to tears playing the campaign with your fire team mates.

-
Oct 25, 2017They show Destiny 2 game at both its best — as a frequently beautiful and consistently enjoyable shooter — and its worst, as a grinding loot box that ends up paying out in frustratingly small increments.
-
Nov 16, 2017The game still plays great on a controller on PC, and no amount of exclusive content will matter when you see it running this well. Sure, you’ll have to stomach the upfront cost of a PC, but I am willing to bet you’ll find other uses for the new machine than just playing Destiny 2.
