Destiny 2 is Bungie at their finest. Outstanding graphics, buttery smooth gameplay and a fun story brought to life with an amazing voice acting cast. This is the best they've done since the original Halo trilogy.

You have to ignore the toxic reviews, doubtful any of them actually own or have even really played this game. Just more negative poison being passed around. Also people seem to misunderstand that games don't need to support their cheating app, their special chat program or whatever random app they seem to think is so important to playing the game. That's not the developers responsibility, they don't owe you anything other than the game itself. Get it, play it, love it.

Destiny 2 = Copy and paste to the max.

If you love Destiny than man oh man you are going to love Destiny 2 unless your sick of playing Destiny 1 because Destiny 2 is Destiny 1!

The campaign can be beaten in under a day, enemies are all in a set spot with no interactions with the world just waiting for you to come.

Pretty limited content and awful lack of social functions in a multiplayer game. It is actually impossible to even say "hi" to other players. Lack of ranking system and pretty unimpressive vanity elements.

Destiny 2 is a very good game, but from my point of view it doesn't feel like a complete sequel for the first Destiny.

I had fun playing Destiny 2 until I hit the end game...It has become a maddening "rinse and repeat" process of leveling up my gear every Tuesday (when the weekly tasks reset) then leaving it alone for 7 days, only to do it all over again. I feel like Destiny 1 offers SO much more as far as end game content goes (granted Destiny 1 has had a couple of expansion packs to bring it to that point). Maybe once one or all of the planned expansions release the game will become a little more interesting. As for now, you'll only get about 3 hours of end game content every Tuesday.

    Pros:

    + Great graphics on PC
+ Fun (but short) story mode

    Cons:

    - Shallow end game
    - Gives you the sense that you've hit a wall and cannot progress any further
    - Raids and a lot of the end game content can NOT be completed without a group of friends or a clan (sucks for solo players)
    - Feels almost identical to Destiny 1 in every aspect, but without all Destiny 1 has to offer.

I spent 3 weeks after release waiting for a patch to fix it but it would appear that Bungie either has no idea what they're doing in Windows or they simply don't care that they have thousands of customers that purchased a completely defective product. That's bad for business and I have no intentions of purchasing another title that Bungie develops going forward.

I have since received a full refund on my purchase since Blizzard was able to confirm that I have never logged into Destiny 2 (after official release date).

I was able to play during Beta and that was enjoyable with decent graphics (not much improvement over Destiny) and the experience was far better than on console. Was it worth the outlandish price they're charging? Absolutely not.

I don't recommend this game to anyone. Go play the original Destiny and forget about this waste of money.

You will turn them on, search for days, not even strikes, or crucible matches, the only freaking things that put you in teams will allow chat because of most peoples chat settings. You will not find someone you can team up with. Maybe you will after 2 days of in game play time find someone, like I did. Have a blast, and the game will mess up some damned door and you will be separated. You will shout "Hey wait for me, I'm stuck!" They may hear you, they will look back to where you are. See the door open and say, "I can see you!" and then the game will decide "WHOA WHOA WHOA! What is this, HACKING?!" Maybe kick you out, and give you an animal as a "error code" which I'm sure is actually a real thing that the "smart" and not mentally challenged people at Bungie came up with. Or then it will split the two of you to different instances, allowing absolutely no way for you to reconnect. That friend you made? It was a ghost, it was a lie and was put there to make sure you know you're playing a game by developers that don't care about making a social game. They just want to sell you 100$ worth of **** and laugh at you for trying to enjoy it.

My advice. Join the first clan you are invited into. If they suck, which they most likely will, leave and wait for the next one. Clans is the "minimized exposure" that Bungie has designed for the socially frail people that are online these days. Made to ensure you only ever meet at most 100 people at a time, if you dare to. Or in the very least, add every single player you see that waves at you as a friend, then later on kick them off if they are just listening to terrible music and have no idea they also have a microphone on their laptop. Join any player with an open fire team, these people are grave individuals, they are willing to meet people online?! Making friends in this game is the hardest challenge Bungie has invented with this latest release.

The campaign story is good, nothing revolutionary but is a good campaign that lasts about 8 hours with good characters and decent storytelling. As for the main dish? The multiplayer is awesome, public events, strikes, raid, everything is great and incredible rewarding and fun to play with friends. The pvp my need some balancing, but i have good matches in the crucible as well. My only complain? This game launches a expansion 3 months after the launch? The standard game is already expensive, 3 months later we have to pay more to have more content? Good thing im loving the game and already have 150hrs with it, but thats just greedy Bungie, hope they give us some free updates on time. Expand

$60 for only 80 missions seemed wrong. Half of them re-ran you through the same areas multiple times with some different mobs and different voice acting. The same room was explained as different things depending on the quest. It was fun, but then I tried playing with a friend. We game a lot and don't have networking issues, however on this game we were plagued with disconnects. Also as we warped to different zones on the same map we had to communicate where we were as there was no map indicator. Strikes were OK, but the raiding is difficult unless you're part of a big clan. 3rd party tools are being used to find players, which require adding b.net friends and inviting them to a party and then dropping them at the end of the run.

tldr: not enough content for $60, missing a pug option or in game community system to find & meet new players. Already going to make my account useless in a month with DLC, so it costs about $100 to buy in and stay relevant for 9 months.

While it does look better than its console counterpart (which PC versions always should), its low quality visuals even when maxed, and random frame drops are dead giveaways of a pretty mediocore console port.

The game itself is extremely repetitive, with dry, boring voice acting and dialogue to boot. The FPS elements aren't as tight as pure FPS games, and the RPG elements aren't as deep as RPG games. It tries to cover a lot of ground but doesn't make a very good effort at making how it covers that ground interesting. It plays like a Korean F2P title with a Western skin. Every time I booted it up, I felt like someone had injected me with a tranquilizer. There is nothing remotely redeeming about this game. Not even coop with friends could save it.

The story is bland and once its complete the endgame is just as rote. Literally no urge to explore or level up the numbers... mindless drivel designed for the biggest net/lowest common denominator.

The only reason I don't rate it a zero is the graphics and optimization.

Gave 8/10 because it was still better and more fun than many of the AAA games out since 2010, but it won't be remotely close of getting the love and support that Star Wars franchise received. The gaming industry is seriously going in the wrong direction led by EA, then Activision, then Ubisoft, and so on. The business model philosophy that uses heavy analysis based on data won't survive for another decade in PC gaming industry, and whichever company sticks with it, might get stuck on a blacklist for many consumers in the future. I've stopped purchasing any games from EA for good five years, and now Activision is playing extremely close on the edge.

This game also requires knowledge of the first game; if you don't know what happened in Destiny 1 you will have no idea what is going on. Not only is there almost no end-game content, but Bungie is also posed to launch a DLC that users have to pay for in December. Besides a few obvious differences like how they jump, the classes are extremely similar and only differentiate in a few ways. The talent trees for each class are extraordinarily dull and don't really change the way you play the game. People have said that this is a MMO-type FPS, but don't be fooled. This is not a MMO nor is it anywhere near one.

The good parts of this game are the combat systems and the looks of the game. It really is one of the prettiest games I've ever seen and the combination of multiple weapon choices and weapon mechanics make combat exciting. There's also no difficulty settings so you can't ramp up the overly-easy standard difficulty or turn off the hilarious auto-aim setting.

This game is no where near worth the price that so many paid. Such a disappointment.

I give this game a 7/10, because while the gameplay itself is fun, action packed and visually impressive (and it runs impressively well), the game has some pretty important shortcomings.

First is the severe lack of many social features. Inviting your friend to a party requires way too many clicks and menu openings, that is, once you find out how to do it in the first place; the process is too long and complicated for something that could be as simple as a chat command. Besides that, there is simply no local/region chat, no custom channels, and no channels for specific purposes (like a lfg chat), there is only a team and fireteam (party, essentially) chat. Furthermore there is no way to browse active clans ingame. These problems all exacerbate the issues I will be getting into next.

Second, after reaching the endgame you will quickly reach a point where the only content that makes sense for you to do, requires you to be in a group. Inconveniently, there is no matchmaker for this content (nightfall strikes and raid). This in itself is not catastrophic, but it would have been nice to have a matchmaker. The real problem lies in the fact that not only is there no matchmaker, there is also no way to actually assemble a group for it ingame, no lfg channels, no lfg player status, nothing. To actually assemble a group, you need to use one of various third party tools. Personally I was tempted to join a clan at this point, to have some more consistent endgame options. You can join a clan through the rather archaic method of applying through a website. However upon joining a clan i realized that there is no clan chat, and thus discovered my clans discord channel. In the end, as a casual player, joining a clan turned out to be more or less joining a lfg channel, however even for that i have to tab out of the game.

Playing through the endgame is an appealing idea to me, however I am not nearly committed enough to the game to jump through all those hoops for the chance on a good time, when I can just play other games instead.

I found the game to be worth the box price, but no more. The game itself is fun, but severely gets in the way of you enjoying it after a certain point. If you think you might enjoy it, i would suggest you buy the base game with no season pass or whatever, and dont buy any silver either, untill you have completed at least one nightfall strike. At that point you should well be able to determine if you want to invest the effort to get into the real endgame, and, potentially, put more money into it.

Aside from that, there is utterly no community, as it is impossible to communicate with people you don't have on Bnet, so it is very difficult to find a group to play with, if you don't know anybody playing it already. I am going to give you an example. After the story was done, i had hit lvl 20, and gear level 265, i was hungry for more content, so i went and did EVERY SINGLE adventure in destiny 2, i spent about 6 hours on it, thinking, i am going to get the sickest reward for all this work. What did i get, not a f*cking thing.

This is destiny 2 in a nutshell. The story is OK at best, short, predictable, lazy, after the story, the game i basically over. Even the grind to aquire better gear level is so boring i actually logged out of the game and went downstairs and asked my girlfriend how her day was, she looked at me and asked me if i was feeling well. No, i wasnt feeling well, i felt **** sad.

This game has so much potential, how about one huge open world, with stories, events, quests for legendary gear, pvp, treasure hunting, constant progression, perks, so many different weapons you could have a loadout not everyone playing the same class as you had. a game that rewards exploring, crafting combining recources with shaders and mods to get armour pieces that were utterly unique, That would be amazing!

instead i am left with an impression of being scammed, this game promised so much, had so much potential, the game looks gorgeous. Just imagine, if one of the zombies working at bungie had said; guys, lets make this game the mother**** best game open world rpg shooter the world has ever **** seen. Lets make the god damn World of Warcraft of shooters. No, instead they make a theme-park piece of crap that looks golden but has less content then my Instagram DM`s.

Dont buy this game, its a cheap moneygrab and feels like a gold plated potato. i give this game a 2/10 because it looks nice.

Maybe in future Bungie will fix this, but now my score is 0/10.

When there is more innovation in Call of Duty and Assassin's Creed, you know there was zero effort put into this game, they could've kept all content from Destiny 1 and added new content on top, but they threw it in the trash (Maybe to release in DLC later). This game is pretty on the outside(for marketing it's perfect) and disgusting on the inside(once you actually play, it's obviously just a cash grab). The art is beautiful, but why wouldn't it be? That's all you need to sell a game nowadays to people, pretty graphics and good music.

Obviously if the base game was good, why would anyone buy DLC (thinks bungievision).

This game could've been great, but money. They decided to re-release Destiny and remove everything good about it. It seems that Bungie looked at how The Sims can release a new game with zero features so that they can sell them later as expansions.

However Bungie seems to have forgotten that they are not selling their game to teenage girls. They dumbed down every system, they made all the loot the same, they made it so the "casuals" aren't overwhelmed, but are casuals really as stupid as Bungie thinks? I think they aren't.

Just because your testers are middle-aged men who never played a game in their life, doesn't mean that an average gamer wouldn't be able to figure out how your game works. Even casuals aren't as stupid as this game thinks they are.

I wish any of this meant anything, but in the end, they made their moneys and they will continue their **** business practices until they run out of people who buy their games/micro-transactions.

I am never going to buy anything that has the label Bungie/Activision EVER again. Fool me once... I can do without playing your generic ****.

If the first game was on released today on PC, not a single person would be playing Destiny 2 after finishing the story. That's how empty this game is.

At first I thought this game is amazing but it's so flawed that it only deserves 0/10 imo.
The PvP is even worse than the one in dishonored. P2P, Broken Matchmaking and you can't f***ing reconnect if you game kicks you out for no reason.
The PvE content is pretty boring once you finished the raid and the story.

The story is utterly linear, without meaningful choice throughout. The character is supposedly the lone hero - like every other "lone hero" around them. They are repeatedly addressed directly...but are voiceless, with their ghost as the voiced proxy for the player. Nathan Fillion tries to enliven what is undoubtedly the worst narrative he has ever been a part of, but the rest of the voice cast are utterly disappointments.

But hey, once the story is done, you can do public events. And side missions. The first is the same event on each planet - one per planet - repeated over and over again. The second are the exact same mission types youve been playing in smaller does.

    Utterly terrible game.

Quite a boring game. The game mechanics were quite poor. Multiplayer loading took a very long time to join a game. Very grindy game--lots of repetitive mob killing. The story was not interesting to me. The voice acting was poor.

I also asked for a refund, and got denied.

    - Content is full of padding and rehashed/reworded quests.

    - Content is repetitive, and similar to stuff found in budget F2P games.

    - Most of the game is empty space, empty corridors and empty buildings, connected by 'rooms' or 'courtyards' of enemies. Again, similar to budget games.

    - It feels like the game has been built as a DLC platform. First DLC being released a couple of months after the main game.

    - The endgame is relatively stale and empty, as other (non professional) reviewers have said. What content has been offered is unrewarding; The stuff that is rewarding is limited to weekly-reset quests.

And the grindy repetitive feel of the game as you progress and get these power soft locks (Until mostly grp activities are done) just feels like Bungie trying to draw out the game as long as possible. Usually either can't connect to server or I can load a mission for a handful of seconds before getting booted back to the main Orbit screen. Gives me different error codes but they all lead back to the same exact text pinning the problem on my ISP or networking. None of the other online games I'm currently playing seem to have this issue at all. Soooo this product becomes largely unplayable. Can't contact support. Have to post on the forums.

On the occasions when it is playable it's pretty fun but then I'll randomly get booted to orbit in the middle of a strike and lose my progress and won't get a chance at the final boss or the loot at complete random.

Oh and then when I do manage to finish a mission, apparently I can go and decrypt an engram, have the new item popup screen appear for its contents but then they don't appear in my inventory. Again, they dont have customer service so I have to post on the forums only to hear "Bungie doesnt restore lost or deleted items"

Probably would've given it a solid 6. But if you buy this game there's a chance it'll be pretty fun but if you're like all the people with connectivity issues and I can't imagine what else, there's a good chance you wasted your money and again, there is no customer service to contact to help you fix whatever issue you encountered.

Just because its on the Blizzard downloader dont expect a Blizzard level of polish for their patches/releases, this company has no issues with selling products purely through hype then meeting release dates with subpar products and literally nonexistent customer support.

-mobile application allows you to track your character progression and even manage your equipment. it also helps with the social aspect.

now well go to the negative points

-1 month after release they are going to release a DLC. such a thing should be illegal and is plain cash grab nothing more. Couldn't they wait 1 month with the release and add more content to the game?

-the content of which we speak, where is it? there is very little to do in destiny 2. After youve beaten the campagin you can level up your lightlevel, but wheres the point in that? You don't get stronger by doing that. in fact you even get weaker. I felt much stronger at lightlevel 200 than on lightlevel 300.
in the first 5 days ive leveld 3 characters to max level and reached lightlevel 300 with them. Thats 1 week of content. there's nothing more to do for me except wait for bungie to add paid DLC into the game

-PvP theres 2 modes in Destiny 2. Its 4vs4 or 4vs4. Thats right its 2 modes where you play the same thing. Hey maybe the DLC will ad a 4vs4 mode, i think thats missing. Wheres the deathmatch? wheres the big battles with vehicles from destiny 1? it is the most boring pvp game i've ever played

-Story. If you're into a story that a 12 year old wrote than this game is for you, timetraveling robots, darkness, good vs evil everythings there

theres alot of small things that make this game unbelievably bad, i wont even list them all but things that show laziness and money grabing

Stupid ideas like oh lets make different looking ghosts you can get. Great, too bad you never see other people's ghost cause they are not out all the time AND they are tiny specs once out.

    Issues:
    Can't see clan members... Really?
Only 3 people can be in a strike or do anything in the public together? - Is this an MMO or what?
Can't see members of your group on the map. -Really?
Small game world, each planet is tiny.
Short campaign with not enough endgame content. -2 Days to finish campaign then stuck grinding the same crap over and over.
One RAID after 2 months being out on consoles and PC.
Three "strikes" after 2 months being out.
No gear variety, everyone looks the same and gets the same small pool of legendary and exotic gear. Legendary and Exotic gear are not really legendary or exotic because everyone get them same gear...
Me and my friends are bored already and it's only been 2 weeks.

Expansion after 2 months that you have to pay $20 for. NO content in expansion.

Bungie, please go play Borderlands first before you release more garbage.

Like there are no particles in the air or somesuch. There are just two scenes in the game that made me feel wow - the upclose sun and Pyramidion strike (inside).

Audio - weak. Gunshots are bleak and uninteresting. Enemy sounds, environmental - nothing to write home about.

Class mechanics - played only 1 of 3 classes, but tried all 3 subclasses. They're practically indistinguishable. There are only 2 abilities - grenade and ult. And that's for all classes and subclasses. Warframe has dozens of "classes", each having a passive and 4 distinct abilities, along with Operator abilities and passives.

Mobility - compared to Warframe - very weak. No special hits on slide, no diving on enemies, no rolling on the ground.

Weapons - weak. Extremely limited variance. Very limited tactical modding like choosing a scope, etc. Mostly ugly weapon models. There are some good ones for Exotic quality though.

Story - weak. 5 year olds might get excited, though. Zavala is voiced by the FBI chief from Fringe, and I love that man's voice but it's mismatched for Zavala. Every time Zavala speaks I cringe and notice how that voice is a bad fit for him.

Social part - VERY BAD. No talking to other players, no matchmaking for nightfall strikes, raids.

Music - doesn't get on my nerves and I'm very picky, and sometimes (on Nessus) it's really good.

The only good thing I can mention is, despite all that, it's kinda fun to do brainless shooting of hordes of enemies on some missions.

Also cannot purchase the game as a gift to someone, Blizzard shop tells me it's not allowed for my currency. Well done, guys. Billion dollar companies and all that.

It's a bog-standard shooter with a pretty aesthetic. The story is nearly non-existent, there's still no in-game encyclopedia, and this goes to further tear the world of Destiny apart. Throughout the entirety of the campaign, I was left asking why any of what I was seeing was happening, and it seems like the game was just as confused.

Masquerades as an MMO but falls dreadfully short. Emulates some of the worst aspects of latter-day World of Warcraft such as world quests, randomized gear, being constantly showered with irrelevant loot, a "leveling" experience so brief as to be meaningless, a fear of making in-game currency valuable, and an unhealthy obsession with item level undermined by a fear of making item level relevant to gameplay. The result is a game focused on gear which has an uncertain relationship to actual gameplay and sometimes none at all.

The world is small, load times are intrusive, interactions with other players are minimal, and the menus are unnecessarily unwieldy.

On the plus side, many of the guns are well-designed and satisfying to use. Item stats can be customized with a remarkable degree of depth that stands prominently in contrast to the rest of the game's absence of subtlety.

The PvP maps are fairly well designed. You won't find yourself being shot in the back or unable to find cover very often, particularly just as you spawn. The absence of large battles is sorely noted, however.

The game is plagued by "ultimates," following the model of Overwatch/League of Legends/DotA. Periodically players receive an unreasonable increase to their power, which is supposed to be "fun" and to mix up the gameplay. Thankfully, the ultimates in this game are not quite as frequent nor as powerful as the ones found in Overwatch. Whereas in Overwatch you may find that an unpleasantly large proportion of your deaths are caused by someone's ultimate, and that you are generally powerless against someone using their ultimate, in Destiny 2 you will feel that you still have a fighting chance against most ultimates and consequently they will not amount to a majority of your deaths.

As for the the game's story, it is an unmitigated disaster. The writing is inexcusable and frankly embarrassing. The villain is not in the least bit compelling, commanding absolutely no respect whatsoever. An attempt was made to make up for what he lacked in character with sheer bulk, with the end result being a sort of fat, alien Bane recycling lazy dialogue about how he is the bad guy.

The protagonists suffer from a similar flatness of character. Their names are not memorable over the course of the entire campaign, even the "funny robot" who is meant to be the one guy you actually remember. The proliferation of "token minorities" among the cast stands as testament to their absence of value as narrative vehicles.

The abundance of cutscenes during the campaign is painful, particularly when considering their high-budget nature and their simultaneous complete lack of meaningful narrative. If the campaign had had a handful of lazily-crafted cutscenes to go along with their lazy story it would have been easier to forgive the campaign as merely an unwelcome tutorial, but the barrage of high-budget cutscenes instead leaves one with an impression of the vast waste of resources that went into this uninspired portion of the game. Perhaps the game could have been $10-$20 cheaper if only this embarrassment of a campaign had not left the drawing board.

The only real positive here is the graphics / art direction. Besides that there's a heavy dose of micro transactions, very little content and somehow it feels even more bland than the first Destiny. The beginning was phenomenal because they gave us glimpses into life outside the city, beautiful panoramics, and serious challenges to overcome. Then it turns into everyone loves me power fantasy throw fireballs at the bad guy and never fail again.

As far as gameplay goes, it is bare bones minimum. There are three player classes which have three subclasses each with 4-5 five abilities. These abilities have such long cooldowns that it really doesn't set the classes apart most of the time. The gunplay is satisfying, but one quickly discovers most guns perform worse than the few good stat combination ones.

The level quality is inconsistent. Earth and titan look amazing while io and nessus are boring balls of dirt with bits of metal poking out every once in a while. With only a small handful of dailies, strikes (co-op dungeon runs for 1-3 people), and pvp modes/arenas, there is little content to keep people going towards the end goal of a 305 average gear score once the story and side quests are done.

I give this a 5/10. It's decent, but it is not $60 decent. It has so much potential it's painful, but has difficulty living up to the hype.

I expected this to be better. I was so wrong. This game feels like 1/10th the content that was put into The Division. It feels completely unfinished. The zones are super small. The level 20 grind is so horrible, It does nothing to show you whats next after the cap. Go do events or play PvP, that's all they really push you to.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. First, the good: The game looks amazing and the music is great. Now the bad: Literally everything else. The plot is shallow, filled with characters that are generic, lifeless, and utterly devoid of any reason as to why you might care about them. The main baddy, Gaul, has no motivation for anything he does other than "he's a bad guy", no backstory, and no reason for doing anything he does. He spends the entire game telling everyone who's around during his cutscenes about how he wants to be "chosen" by the Traveller to receive the light, and then at the end of the game, decides **** it, Ima take the light like everyone's been telling me to the entire game" with absolutely no acknowledgement about this sudden and drastic change of heart nor any justification. The NPC protagonists are lifeless, flat, 2-dimensional objects who serve no purpose except as narrative devices to further what can only generously be called a plot. The voice acting is awful, with the exception of Nathan Fillion, and even he is forced to work with bad, non-sensical writing (robots don't eat, so why a joke about shooting the big baddy in the head and then eating a sandwich?). The strikes are boring and linear. Run here, kill some of them, get to the end, kill a boss that is just a scaled up version of one of the thousands of baddies you've killed up to that point. Rinse, repeat. The gameplay consists of just putting as many bullets downrange as possible while occasionally meleeing when things get too close. There is never any sense of tension or risk in this game, because you can either respawn immediately after you die thanks to having "The Light", or respawn 10 feet further back because the game implemented a checkpoint system for areas where "respawning is limited." Your choice in character class does not matter, as it won't have any impact on how you play the game. Your weapon choice has virtually no impact on the tactics you must employ (as the only viable tactic is "shoot lots of bullets into boring enemies and melee if they're close enough"), and nor does your skill choice, as the skills are on such a long cooldown that they don't impact the gameplay either.

PVP is just terrible, missing basic features like an in-game scoreboard, the ability to choose what type of PvP contest you engage in, the matchmaking has no regard for power level or skill, and power weapons/power abilities are so unbalanced as to simply be "I win fights for 10 seconds" buttons. This results in a PvP where games are almost always decidedly one-sided. The game doesn't even do basic things as punish people who choose to leave PvP in the middle of a match.

I could go on and on, but the bottom line is that this game feels like it was made by a committee of people who don't really like video games, and instead of opting for challenge or to take any risks, just mashed together a bunch of elements that "video games are supposed to have". The result is an undirected mess with neither heart, soul, or anything interesting to say. But it is very pretty.

    - Campaign is very short, very linear. From the very beginning you know that you have to kill a token "bad guy" named Gary and once you do that - that's it. All you have left with is s-l-o-w-l-y grind your "power level" using repeatable "Adventures"/patrols/strikes/Public Events, ALL of which happen in same exact tiny areas you've visited throughout campaign where you do same exact thing, over and over and over. Oh, and yea, there's also a single "raid".
    - The "raid" thing: there's only one so far and it's easily exploitable for now, with several ways to significantly "shorten" it.
    - The PvP system: just a bad joke with only 4v4 mode.
    - Social features: another bad joke. No good text chat system (especially for things like guild/group), no good voice system (not even proximity voice chat), most of the communications with other players are done through very few available emotes (unless you'll somehow coax other person into installing a Discord or other third-party chat/VoIP client). The whole "clan" system is another joke - it barely works now, causing people performance issues (just by joining clan) or issues with not displaying any clan members in clan list. Oh, and fun fact: you can't see your clan members in any in-game location unless you actively group with them (because the in-game world is EXTREMELY instanced). And even the grouping system is a joke because it only allows 3 or 4 people per group (depending on the activity).
    - Game world feels "empty" most of the time - occasionally you might see someone joining in the Public Event... Or you might be stuck doing it all by yourself, with only a couple of other random people just doing their own thing on the same "planet" area. This is due to very anti-social and highly instanced "hybrid" client-server/p2p system Bungie is using even on PC platform.

The only "positive" thing you might notice is that the game engine performs very well even on low-powered PC. But that's kind of expected considering that you won't see many players in any area anyway (especially for PvP mode). All in all, no way in hell it is worth its current retail price (unless you'll get your "review copy" for free so you can write a mandatory "10/10" review), and if you still want to try it out - wait for it to go on sale for $10-15 sometime next year then buy it, your in-game experience won't be different but at least you'll save a significant amount of money.

The graphics are good, the music is awesome... The rest is kind of meh.

First big problem with the game is that the social part is almost absent. There are two hubs where people can hang out but there's no global chat or local chat on the planets (something you could use to tell new people how to make an encounter heroic, for example). No group finding interface at all (although not too much content is available at release and there is no reason to choose a particular strike because they all give rewards from the same pool). The developers seem to be of a "It doesn't matter what you're farming, if you're farming" mindset.

And the second problem is that the game offers nothing in terms of gameplay that has not been done better before it. Borderlands did the RPG/FPS part much better with more unique skill trees, a better variety of weapons and enjoyable platforming. Any MMORPG did the mass multiplayer better. Lots of games did story better.

So the only thing that remains is a multiplayer RPG/FPS. And to be good at that Destiny just needs to be much more multiplayer-friendly. Assuming you're doing campaign/all the good exotic quests and have no friends who also bought the game, you'll spend about two thirds of your time alone.

The game is running brilliantly with my i7 4790K and GTX 960 SC, constantly staying at 60 FPS aside from the occasional dip to around 55 FPS.

The endgame is a little lackluster at the moment, but seems promising. My biggest complaint at this point (besides the intermittent game crash that happens) is the lack of a "Local" chat. It's way too hard to interact with other players that aren't already friends.

This game is definitely not worth its price.
The gameplay is a boring grind with no challenge and has nothing new to offer, the story is full of holes and simply garbage, the characters have no character and are forgettable, the multiplayer aspect is simply not there and half of the game is locked behind a paywall.
Destiny 2? No, its simply destiny 1.5. This whole series is a lie.

I wasn't very enthusiastic about Destiny 2. Destiny had been pretty heavily critisized by its lack of story, meh gameplay, and the gameplay videos I watched about it didn't exactly sell me on it, although as a PC only gamer I knew I'd be immune to the sequel related salt. However I took the (once a year, if even) 60€ plunge and HOLY **** I LOVE IT.

Things that I *loooove* about Destiny (2? in general? I don't even know.):

    - Weapon loot is random to a point, but most equipment has some customization options, especially sights, barrels, magazines, and specializations in the case of armor. That really solves the Borderlands-esque problem of being stuck with weapons as-is.
    - Short story arc, with focus on sandboxy stuff to do.
    - Really nicely crafted levels, and story missions. Some stuff, like the Titan level, is not only mega pretty, but also super atmospheric.
    - Tons of stuff to explore and emergent gameplay.
    - Public events, which are super nice solo-compatible cooperative missions.
    - Very satisfying gunplay.
    - Fun and very well done voicework.
    - Fast to level a character up, thus motivating running all the classes and making it easy for friends to get to a similar level quicker, and avoiding the Borderlands style of level disparities that made playing cooperatively a very fleeting and tricky affair.

What I don't really like about it:
    - Lack of difficulty options (most of the game is on the easy side and the AI can be pretty brain dead at a distance).
    - Complete lack of regional chat.
    - While rather large, one wishes the weapon selection was a bit richer, especially in regards to Legendaries.
    - Skill system and character progression can be barely qualified as such. While there's 3 subclasses with 2 specializations each, it simply consists of adding a maximum of 4 perks as one levels up, so the customization options are literally binary. It's a shooting game after all, but still, pretty lackluster. Further, at least one of the specializations on each class will be absolutely useless on flying enemies, so while one can certainly "play their way", it will always be very obvious which spec is the most useful one.
    - The bad thing about all good games: that they end. Some areas are a bit underwhelming and the general amount of them is more scarce than I would like. The real problem I have with D2's progression is more that the two first worlds are great, the third is kinda meh, and the fourth pretty much blends in with the third. And to top it off, past that the campaign becomes a stretched linear set of missions that becomes pretty tedious to complete (I call it the Mass Effect 3... well, effect.). It kinda loses steam one third into the campaign level wise, although the adventures and the core game itself is still entertaining and well made.

Overall though, I've been glued to my computer for the last 3 days, and I've had a ton of fun. I'm really glad to have bought the game, and I'm looking forward to the DLC. Really good game.

I'm really enjoying the game. I never played Destiny 1, so various complaints about how they ruined X or Y don't factor in here, as I have nothing to compare them to. I'm reviewing the game on its own merits.

    Pros:
    * The gunplay is very solid. The guns are fun to use and have a reasonable variety, but not a massive amount. It mostly sticks to the standard gun classes, but throws in some fun twists. Shooting feels responsive.
    * Movement feels good. Jumping feels solid, geometry is reasonable, nothing feels particularly sluggish or floaty.
    * Abilities are meaty and satisfying to use. Each class has three subclasses, each of which has two subtrees, giving a decent amount of customization to how you play.

    Neutral:
    * The gear is only sort of interesting. Exotics are the gear types that can heavily modify skills, and you can only have a couple at a time equipped. The loot treadmill is fun up until you start hitting moderate light levels, at which point you're mostly looking for small upgrades.
    * PvP seems okay, but limited. Not a lot of modes, not a lot of maps. The cooldowns concern is particularly bad in PvP, but so far I've found it to be decent, but not great.
    * The story is okay. Not great. Hopefully future content expands on it.

    Cons:
    * Cooldowns. Ability cooldowns are very long, and this particularly comes out in PvP. You'll be lucky to pop your super more than once or twice, and even nades/special melee come out rarely.
    * Communication. It's extremely hard to communicate with random people. Chat (voice and text) are both locked behind various options, making it cumbersome to communicate in the open world.
    * Clans. Extremely half-assed. While at launch they're broken (which I expect will get fixed), there isn't clan chat, at all. You're required to use Discord or similar to set up groups, unless you want to use their janky clan website functionality.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Bungie's new instalment of the Destiny franchise, Destiny 2, seems to come with a lot of controversies.
The game is basically a large extension of Destiny and it brings the game to a new port, which for me was huge as a PC player. I will subdivide some genres to make clear the strong and weak points of this game.

    -Story-
The story of Destiny 2 is a very simple one. Basically, after defeating some of the darkness in the first Instalment, some new threat had to be implemented to become a large enough deal to work a story around. However, it felt rather spontaneous and not very persistent. For example; your special powers as a guardian are being taken away in the first mission, only to regain it within the next hour of gameplay, this makes it feel as though the game's story is dismissible at first. The story implemented in Destiny 2 feels as though it was meant to introduce you to the new world of play so that you can better start off at your maximum level with slight area knowledge. The story is not the selling point of this game, therefore I'd like to stress that this is in fact not that big of a deal to anyone who bought Destiny 2 for the right reasons. Overall the story felt serious enough to do, yet dismissible enough not to properly remember.

    -Gameplay and Classes-
Once again they use the same classes as the first instalment, Warlock, Titan and Hunter. Each is specialised in their own traits (as the classes imply) and feel very unique. I have to give a straight A for this class system. The classes give a strong sense of uniqueness and are powerful in each of their subclasses when used correctly. For example, a Warlock can become a Stormcaller, Voidwalker or Sunblade. Subsequently, these classes are good at Mob management, Boss nuking, and PvP combat.
This makes neither of all the subclasses ever feel unnecessary or useless.

How the gameplay feels is very much based on how well you know your class. Someone who is great at playing Destiny 2 will find the Gameplay extremely smooth and satisfying and someone who is not will likely find it very difficult or rough. Though this does decrease the accessibility to crowds that are not about serious gaming. Overall the Gameplay feels rather smooth.

    -Loot and Rewards-
There are several rewards that you can earn in Destiny 2 for doing several things. The most common reward at max level is engrams. Engrams are random items of a certain rarity that you have to go and 'open' at a vendor. You can earn these rewards by completing set challenges, milestones, or obtain them at random by doing anything in the world. Overall I like the looting system as it feels very rewarding to those farming it and playing the game actively. The exotics feel a little less exciting than they used to, however, they are on a different power scaling than they used to be, allowing for more versatility in gear sets, as you can only equip one exotic of each type (armour and weapons).

    -Performance and visuals-
    Now here's the tricky bit
Destiny 2 looks amazing and has great graphics all-around, however, there are a few issues.
One of these is a very serious one that I'd like to stress; namely, the memory leak issue when (which is always) the game fails to load the Clan roster. It will keep reloading this action into your memory until it is virtually full and you have to restart the game. Also, there seems to be a screen tearing issue when going above 60 fps in this game. However, the game is very well optimized for PC and gets great performance and FPS overall even on higher settings.

    -Community-
The community of an MMORPG Action game is - as any real RPG player knows - almost the most key part of such a game. Destiny 2 consists in my experience out of extremely helpful people and people who are willing to spend the time to make an effort towards a conjoined goal. I have rarely seen such a laid-back, yet serious gaming community. I must say the game's overall community seems to be a nice bunch to be around. Lots of dancing, but also lots of monster slaying!

    -Post Scriptum-
I see a lot of negative reviews here and I looked deeply into a few of them, it seems they all have not played more than 1-5 hours. I urge you to not attach too much trust into these reviews as they are likely biased and incorrectly researched.

Thank you for reading if you got this far and I hope to see you on the Leviathan soon.

This game has been flawlessly made into a native PC game with all of the features that you would expect of a pc game.
The story isn’t bad but could be better. Leveling up is too easy.
Ive noticed many people saying that this game lacks many if the original game’s features, but that’s not true. You just have to continue the story.

People complained for getting banned for no reason.

Bungie pressed... "All banned are manual and cheaters. Everything's fine, ALL PEOPLE WHO GOT BANNED DESERVED IT".
7 hours later.... "Actually, there's error in our banning process and people are getting banned for no reasons. Deal with it."

Would you give 60$ up front to this?

Despite far exceeding recommended specs, my experience with Destiny 2 on PC is filled with random freezing then crashes with no error codes. This is the only PC game that I have experienced this on, and Bungie provide no support when seeking assistance.

I strongly advise potential buyers stay away, until the game is patched and playable.

The gambling extends beyond loot crate slot-machine-esque 'gameplay' in the PC version however, as a number of players have been getting instantly banned for opening up the game with discord or other overlays (such a recording software) open (and the plebs say discord is better than skype, psh).

My biggest problem with Destiny 2 is CONTENT.
I've reached what is in essence, the endgame for Destiny 2. It's only been less than 5 days, and I consider myself a casual gamer. For 60 bucks, you earn yourself a remake of Halo, where instead of fighting Elites, grunts, or brutes, you fight robots (sums up a majority of the antagonists) and mutated naked mole rats for 5 days. That alone should flare a red flag that this lack of content is unacceptable by any company. It feels like a half finished game, where the developers hastily threw in elimination side quests on steroids and called it content. The story itself lasts roughly 6 hours or less depending if you skip through all the action packed cut scenes. Once you run through a few "Public Events", you'll see they all follow the same pattern. Protect this. Move over there. Kill this.
The class and subclass system are over hyped. They are all nearly identical, with differentiating factors being grenades and small stats. The only saving grace for this game is the game play. Again, it essentially feels like a remake of Halo with different lore. Not convinced? Look up Destiny 2 reviews on Youtube by original dedicated Destiny players, and you'll see the same response.
Lets stop companies from pushing out half ass products.

The endgame is to grind your light level which doesn't actually do anything because everything scales to you anyways, you never really change in power level. The talent system is incredibly underwhelming and offers no real choice or customization. There is no chat, at all, including for clans. There is no point to explore at all. Chests are on a timer where you won't receive loot after you open the first one. The stats, like the talents, are entirely underwhelming. You literally just find the same pieces of boring armor over and over again. I thought this might be redeemed by being able to eventually use exotics - nope, you can only equip one exotic armor and one exotic weapon, non exotic armor does literally nothing. The in-game fps counter is a lie, mine will continuously say 90+ yet feel like 10.

Any points that I could have awarded this game for anything would be more than negated by the season pass/loot box combo. It's an empty shell to attempt to get more money out of you when they "fix" it.

PROS: PC version experience with mouse and keyboard is incredible coming from PS4. Much more enjoyable. Always enjoyed that in 1st person shooters having grown up on Quake, Wolfenstein, and CounterStrike on PC.

The shooting, game play, movement, music, graphics ( phenominal imo even at 2k ), and new adds and expansions on Destiny content were very nice. While Destiny 2 has a solid foundation and a robust story campaign, its endgame content feels a little lacklustre. The sandbox doesn't have a whole lot of depth, and plumbing each of the hub worlds for secrets doesn't feel that rewarding. Grinding Public Events, Raids, and Strikes with friends is definitely a lot of fun, but there's a huge disconnect between content being cleared and your character strength increasing. There's still a lot of room for Destiny 2 to grow but, for now, it's still got a few kinks to work out.
