    The only thing good about this game is its concept, everything else is abysmal.
    -P2P hosting making matches a laggy mess or results in disconnects.

    These developers are clueless, inexperienced and it shows. To create a game with asymmetrical pvp like this one takes skill and knowledge they seem to lack both.

    This game is even more trash now in 2020, damn 4 years and nothing learned, of pure ignorance and denial of the game's core problems. The game is still an unbalanced mess, while survivors gets 500 billion free-cards out of a bad situation killers gets nothing and realizes that the only way to "win" is to camp survivors(Both sides are cancer trash btw, especially SWF). I'm just astounded by the incompetence here by the development team, truly miserable. But hey more DLC and more battlepasses!    … Expand

    I spent more than 1k hours on DBD and can surely say this game is worth the price, but it's still a lot of problems. Very often dev team instead of fixing existing issues going to create new. This disappoints almost every patch, but it seems like from the last of them, game gain almost the top performance from the birthday.

    Spirit: with a single button you can pass from 1 side of the map to the other, and the mechanics where they are?

    Oni: it's the same as Billy, he can run all over the map and shoot several 1-click survivors, besides the turns he makes are broken.

    Fredy: this is one of the most broken of all, it can be teleported directly to the engines, you do not have to run or do chases, it can also put fake palees and slow down and has the strongest hitbox in the game.
    Hitbox: (hit with more distance from the game).

    Besides that the assassins can camper and tunnel you or leave you on the ground without receiving any punishment, they can play in the most toxic way and nothing will happen to them, but the survivors punish them for everything.

    Survivors: the rank systems are dismal, there are red ranks that only know how to make engines and in chases it doesn't last 15 seconds, besides there are players who pass stuck to the engine and do not rescue the teammates, the genrush is a problem and it is because Those people who only enter to make motors, have to make a new system of ranges because this is very badly done and put more points for persecutions and put new objects for the survivors, because the only thing there is is the medicine cabinet lantern and toolboxes.    … Expand

    This game is kinda boring, With random survivors, you will likely fail to escape the "Monster".
    The gameplay is boring in its self, the only good thing with the gameplay might be the jump scares when you get caught by the "Monster". But overall a boring game, and i would not recommend it for something to play in 2020.

    The game isn't fun. It's not the kind of game people enjoy playing. There are no unique modes. There are no modding or custom maps for the game, and all you do is to repair generators and get out.
    It's only popular because of its fancy marketing and deep lore and just capitalized on that CS GO type crowd that blames each other when a game has even the most obvious problems.

    1000+ hours somehow i got, its a fun game 4 survivors evading / hiding while killer hunts them down, they recently added a battlepass to give u more objectives and extra cosmetics. best i can recommend is watch a gameplay video and decide for yourself

They use to have free events but removed it for a paid season pass. Game is turning to the bring players in and make them spend money before they get tired of it type of game.
    For game play, it's always fun playing survivor now. Once you get use to being chased by the killer you get use to the heart beats for when they get closer. You might get mad if the killer hits you because server lag made you lag backwards. But the game has new bugs with every patch update. But playing with friends is what makes it fun and unfair for the killer. For the killers game play can be stressful depending on everyone's connection. They tend to dodge your swings with ease and you have to out play 4 people to win the game. Graphics are very amazing, and you have to see Moo Moo the cow on a hospital bed.     So I have played this game for a few hours now and I must say... wow... Just wow. I've never seen a game be so fun but also be such trash at the same time.

    There are a multitude of issues with this game from balance issue on both survivor and killer side, such as crutch mechanics, broken killer abilities and addons. Same with perks on both sides.     This game also has massive issues with hitboxes and server connections. The combination of the two will have you getting hit from china by the killer when you play survivor and missing grabs and hits as killer when playing against survivors.

    The community... The community for the most part is toxic af and myself am guilty of this. A lot of the toxicity in this game stems from the broken/unbalanced/straight up unfun aspects of this game.

    Other issues with this game include, poor optimization and ui design. The game does not run very well for a game that is not that graphically intense and from 2016 using the Unreal engine. Menus can be clunky and sometimes broken leading you to be kicked from your lobby just because you activate a challenge within the game. As I post this it's Dec. 15, 2019 and until about two months ago I could not run this game without massive stuttering issues unless I used a Nvidia driver that was almost a year old. I spent a lot of time looking into the issue and the best I could find from a rep from Behavior was that "it's windows 10's fault" But then about two months ago they updated their engine and now my issues is resolved... I still have an issues with crashes if I use the most recent drivers and try to play this game. My gpu is a 970, so if you have a 900 series card be cautious.
    Oh, bugs. Lots and lots of bugs. Every month and a half and two months the have a mid chapter update and a chapter update, and I can not recall an update where they did not break some aspect of the game. Some of the greatest hits include being hit through solid objects, broken sound, falling through the map, being put in a certain part of the map and losing control of your character, getting a black of grey screen, randomly losing the ability use your keyboard in game (could still use it in google and other applications and in the game only after the match had ended), and others I can not recall.

    Another thing I have a personal issues with is, the devs seem more interested in releasing cosmetics in their ingame shop than actually fixing the game. (If you like cosmetics, this game's got em in spades)

    The game 'can' be great fun if played with friends. Though played solo it can also be fun but I would not hedge you bets on that.

    First you purchase the game then you have to keep purchasing installments to get the latest abilities and killers, which is unacceptable, especially considering how little the base game is improved in the process, if at all. Now it's a hollowed out shell of a good idea, wasted on the most careless individuals. Don't encourage them any further.     6.6/10 of user reviews is not fair. The game is not perfect, but it is far from being an almost 6/10. I am giving a 9/10 'cause i have a lot of fun playing, even facing bugs or glitches (most of them very funny). The size of possibilites inside the game, both for survivors and killer, is huge, with many strategies to use, many perks and many mindgames for each map.

If I play killer well then I rank up and go into the red rank territory of Survive with Friends which also means, "Be prepared to lose unless they are so pants on head dumb that they can't even coordinate through voice coms", which coincidentally is the best way to rank up as survivor (or make sure that yourMight be better but my teammates keep farming me and the killers keep camping me.     So I bought this game a few days ago and it keeps crashing in the multiplayer lobby and giving me a “host is unreachable error” almost every single game I try to join. I play with friends sometimes and they have the same exact issue and it’s getting ridiculous I was not aware of this before I bought it and I am really upset about it I paid 35 dollars for this game to work less than halfSo I bought this game a few days ago and it keeps crashing in the multiplayer lobby and giving me a “host is unreachable error” almost every single game I try to join. I play with friends sometimes and they have the same exact issue and it’s getting ridiculous I was not aware of this before I bought it and I am really upset about it I paid 35 dollars for this game to work less than half the time.     But most importantly, new skins are coming, which of course you can buy for money! Instead of releasing new content or fixing that many bugs!

    Hitbox is very fantastic in this game!

    A very fun game worth playing. i really enjoy dead by daylight because when you play it with friends you get to experience an amazing time with them because it's all so fun. Even if you play it on your own you'll have a lot of fun as well. Once you start to understand how the game really works, you'll get addicted to it.

    Very unbalanced game (until June 2017 survivors were OP and then killers became OP) and full of bugs. Devs prioritize monetization and cosmetics only and fixes are superficial and often detrimental to the game. Avoid at all costs.

Sure you go into different environments but you do not do anything different. Regardless of the DLC. The game seems fun at first but wears out fast. After coming from PS4 (around 250-300 hours), I eventually switched to pc to get better frames and make the game easier with keyboard and mouse. The game itself isn't all rainbows and sunshine, no, because of balancing issues and bad hit boxes, you usually sit there and rage your brains off. But the game is so goddamn addictive. In the game, you can play both killer and survivor, survivors has to do 5 generators, open exit gate and escape whilst avoiding killer. However, with the current fan base, many people will "run" the killer around, "looping" them and "teabagging" them, until they eventually rage quit or give up the chase. Killers has to prevent this, by catching up to survivors, making sure generators stay deactivated, and don't let the survivors escape. But right now, survivor seems to be the way to go if you want to have fun. The game has some pretty good lore, like really good, but isn't really told in game. The wiki has it all written down (recommend it), but the events of the game are told through Benedict Baker, who willingly went to the MacMillan Estate, got into the Entitys realm , and documents everything and everyone. When you die, you come back (hence the "Death is not an escape" slogan) and when a survivor gives up, they are sent into another realm called something I can't recall, we're they're left to float in "space". Controls feels natural, nothing new, nothing complicated, nothing special, it all feels like second nature to anyone who's been gaming for a while. The optimization is better than that of PAYDAY 2, two very connected games (sharing game exclusives, like buying "Deluxe" edition gives you 2 PAYDAY 2 masks). I currently have a Radeon R7 360 and a Athlon X4 860K, and 16 GB Ram, and I can run the game 30 fps no prob on Normal, and almost 50 on low. And finally, the horror aspect of the game. First 5-10 games for survivors will actually be pretty scary, but eventually, the horror aspect isn't there anymore, because your used to it all. So if your looking for a spooky game, that can actually scare you, skip, but if your looking for a game with a strong fan base with pretty frequent updates, go for it, it's only 20€ on steam currenty.     On top of it all, the developers have created DLC equivalent to around 3 times the game's asking price, and then setup a premium-currency store to buy more in-game items for your DLC purchases that they didn't come with. The developers even went as far as to usurp the game's loot system to include free adverts for the DLC instead of other more meaningful loot, and it replaces your rarest loot options on top of that.

    In gameplay itself, overall the original content is good. However, experiencing it is another thing, as the game is now covered in rigged games that prevent you ever playing as the killer and continuing to gain ranks.

    It's over-monetized and under-developed. The only meaningful argument for playing DBD at this point is that it is the best in its genre, but that means very little.    … Expand

    I have played this game for over 500 hours now during a 3-year period. I like this game. It is fun to play with friends however there are some vital parts of the game that doesn't work properly.
    The loading lobby is annoying, you have to make a new party for every game.

    Why is the balancing bad? To put it simple, there are exploits for both survivors and killer that throttle any enjoyment one may get from playing this game. Survivors will use exploits like 'infinite looping' in levels mixed in with 'pallet looping' so the killer can never catch them. That and SWF, a feature that lets 4 friends play together, often destroy killer players because of how over powered it is. Players on mic can always tell each other where the killer is on the map and coordinate accordingly, ruining any surprise elements the game has to offer. This feature is gamebreaking, but the devs still allow it.

    On the killer side of things, killers use an exploit called 'hook camping.' With how broken the game is, there really isn't much incentive to actually play it correctly. Which is to chase survivors. What killers will do is hook someone and just stand in front of them, which is also known as 'face camping.' 7/10 games I play these days consist of these kinds of players. There's also another exploit where killers can put players in what's called a 'basement' then use a perk that allows them to camp even harder. Survivors will try to play the game normally, which is saving each other, only to get killed trying to save the person being hook camped. Making an easy win for the killer. Until this day the devs acknowledge this as a legitimate strategy and won't fix it. This feature is gamebreaking, but the devs still allow it.

    Killers camp and as a result players try to infinite loop the killers so they don't get caught. It's a vicious cycle that has gotten out of control lately. Most games just come out to who can be the most toxic/trolly towards each other. With survivors teabagging and killers taunting each other. The whole horror element is stripped and the fun is just not there anymore.

    When I first started playing Dead by Daylight, it was fun. As I grew in skill and rank "I'm both rank 1 for survivor and killer" the toxicity only got worse. These days it's hard to find enjoyment playing this game and again the glitches make the whole experience that much more painful. I really wanted this game to succeed at one point, but with the way things are it's not going to. Things have gotten too out of hand at this point and the devs won't do anything about it. Of course they have no problem releasing purchasable cosmetics through the in game store though. I think the devs pretty much know this game is a sinking ship at this point and are just trying to get cash out of it with as minimal effort to actually fixing it as possible.     Dead by daylight is a really fun game to play and it never gets old. I've been playing the game almost right when it came out and I've been glued to it because of how fun and fresh it feels every time i come back to it because of a new chapter that came out. I've put in around 650 hours into the game which is nothing compared to some other big fans of the game.

And playing as the killer can be exceptionally fun when your moving from survivor to survivor, not caring about the generators because you can put so much pressure on them by just going on a rampaging killing spree. But those moments are so few and far between. There are so many issues within the game that the developers who put this game out 2 YEARS AGO refuse to address. all the issues in Dead by Daylight stems from the moment the killer is no longer seen as a threat.

    This is due to a number of reasons, such as a looping and pallets. Obstacles and pallets are placed generously across the maps to help survivors break chases from the killers. However when the survivor seeks to be chased for points as well as annoying the killer, then there are moments when the killer will get frustrated to point where if he finally catches that target it's more likely he will face camp to remove a player from the game. I understand that the chase is part of the game, however when a survivor is intentionally prolonging the chase for as long as possible it breaks immersion heavily and ruins the game for others. The point that i'm trying to get across is that stealth is not rewarded in the game…. You get more points running around and irritating the killer as much as possible rather than getting the objectives that are the entire point of the game.

    Some killers are going to be able to deal with looping and pallets way better than other, and perks can remedy some of these issues, but let me make this clear. You will not have the same game experience as the youtubers and streamer who play this game religiously. I have 36 hours played as of making the review, but I am nowhere near to unlocking all the perks on a single character. Perks are crucial to the game, and it's a grind to get them. People who have sunk more time into this game are going to be able to deal with certain situations better than you will because of this. And this issue extremely noticeable when playing as the killer and you don't have higher tier perks.

    Going back to the killer no longer being a threat. After the either of the exits are opened survivors are free to leave, but many times they don't, due to them waiting to see if they need to go back to help a teammate, this is fine, however when the killer meets them at the exit it can create awkward moments where the killer cant do anything but try to force them to leave while having no chance at actually being able to kill them. Why not allow the killer to close exits, and force survivors outside of the gate to leave the game, and then make it to where the door can be reopened by the remaining survivors. It gives the survivors the ability to sit at exit and wait safely while allowing the killer the ability to force safe player out of the game, while at the same time placing a bigger threat on players still trapped in the map.

    The final issue that seems to be reoccurring so often to the extent that it's frustrating, are trapdoor standoffs. OHHHH MAN….. it's a joke that this is still an issue. If the last survivor and the killer meet at the trap door the game can become locked for an extended period of time The killer is no longer a threat. Both will stare are each other, if the killer swings and even downs the player, the killer loses. The Survivor wins as long as the killer doesn't interrupt the jumping animation. Neither wants to lose points during the game. If it has come to this the killer as performed well and has already killed three survivors and the last one is going to do everything in his power to win. To avoid this, I've even came to the point where I would down the second to last survivor and walked the entire map three to four times looking for the last one as well as the hatch. Of course the downed player eventually bleeds out and the game ends with a hatch escape and the dead player in end game lobby cursing up a storm saying that the killer had downed him and left, and that the last player should be banned for hiding in a locker the entire time. The developers need to make up the mind with hatches, either make the last survivor uninterruptable while jumping in the hatch, or allow the killer to close the hatch for an extended period of time. The game is not being held hostage by a player…. It's the developers not wanting to make a choice that is wasting your time.

    While Dead by Daylight is a fun game and one of the forefronts in the multiplayer horror genre, it's these issues that keep me from recommending it to others, The second immersion is broken, and the killer is no longer scary, is the same moment this game takes a nose dive in terms of quality.    … Expand

    Game is balanced. just some maps give survivors more advantages while others give to killer. So you can pick an offer to increase luck to choose your favorite map as a survivor or killer. Game need some experience to play right. It's easy to play in low ranks but as you rank up it's getting more competitive. Only negative thing about game is bloodpoint system, point for level up and open your perks. Every survivor or killer has unique perks and some of these perks are really important so if you don't like a survivor character and don't want to play it still you have to rank up it with bloodpoints so you can use it's perk for an another character you play. Making bloodpoint is hard in this game and harder for survivors then a killer. So this causes grinding in game and people don't like grind. They should update bloodpoint system as soon as possible. I give 7/10 or 8/10 for Dead by Daylight.… Expand

    I once really enjoyed this game, however the most recent updates to the game have done nothing but ruined it. The atmosphere is no longer creepy, everything feels unrewarding, the leveling and ranking system is broken, and the cosmetics system is a huge, disappointing money-grab.

    Yes, this game is great but I recently got a MAC and I bought Dead By Daylight when I had my windows. But, I can't download it on my MAC because its for windows only. I would love if it could be for MAC as well please? If not that is fine.

    Also another thing that people complain about is The balancing issue. Yes, there are some content in the game that make it unbalanced, but from my perspektivet It only makes the game more challenging.

    What I Also like is that there is NO way use chat och you mic to communicate whit other players unless you use teamspeek (like TWICH) whit you friends. This way you never have to listen to any angry and hysterical 13 year old.    … Expand

Making it challenging however playing out a story, where only 2 of us survived after 53 compelling minutes of running, hiding, planning our next move and repairing the 2 remaining generators in order to achieve our freedom. The game itself is amazing though the development team could do a little more to enhance the experience for everyone. I really love the development team for sticking true to its roots and not implementing a loot crate system opting for a more traditional in-game currency and item buy menu, this allows for a completely fair and equal playing field when in game. The team even shows its love for other games and classic movies by adding cosmetic changes for characters if you own certain games or buy the DLC (Not Mandatory). Even the addition of Freddy Krueger was a nice nod to the original classic "A Nightmare on Elm Street" as well as the Leatherface skin available as a DLC. Dead By Daylight has a lot of unique and original killers as well which are very appealing and fun to play as, I personally would love to see movies or even shorts based on these characters maybe someday in the future. Sadly this game is far from perfect and though I enjoy this game so much it does lack variety... There are only 9 different areas known as Realms in the game which offer 22 map layouts across the Realms which tend to be slightly repetitive if you pay close attention. Also some killers do seem to have an advantage with their abilities and varying movement speed. Also with no voice chat it does make it difficult to coordinate with teamates though I am glad I don't have members of the toxic community screaming in my ear.

    Additions I would love to see implemented to the game is lobbies where you can join friends where you can set up custom game settings and create your ideal scary movie senerio, as well as have a friend or yourself lobby as the killer. Roleplaying has a huge community and I feel the game could benefit so much more if they did add such a feature.

    I recommend this game to anyone who meets the System Requirements, the development team really did make a gem and should keep up the outstanding work.

    This game is an unbalanced survival horror game and a pay to win if you can afford DLC to get killers like Freddy, the doctor etc. Killers can camp and tunnel the survivors and you can do nothing about that. The developers don't care about that neither. There are also a lots of bugs. Finally, if you want to play killers with no brain and no skill, go for it otherwise skip this game.

    they completely made trapper useless by not giving traps under hook, Hag is the worst killer in game. Nurse remains the best simply because she is the only killer that can deal with infinite loops. Unbalanced addons, some killers gets completely useless addons like the hag.

    Survivors flashlight are also insanely strong, combined with 4 SWF. BNP changes is nice but u dont need it when u have gen tapping vs Ruined. and double pellets in the same places are just plain bad. there should only be 1 pellet, which is way enough to buy time to waste the killers time. survivors are not scared in this game. u are encouraged to taunt/ bold actions which grants u more points

    Now the game is not perfect. There are some bugs. Ex: Messy movement when the killer attempts to pick up a survivor. (nothing game breaking). All Killers are not the same. Some are stronger than others. (Balancing). Games have no timers. Meaning, games can last forever. I have lasted in a match for 42 minutes. Games typically last 12-15 minutes :). Lastly, if you choose to play as the killer, you will be hosting the game. To fill up your game it can take upwards of 10-15 minutes. The reason for this is because everyone wants to be the killer. Plus side, if you decide to be the survivor you will never have an issue finding a game.

    Dead by Daylight presents its uncommon multiplayer survival genre with a touch of thrill and horror. A lot of potential in this game and they are making use of some of that, but honestly, I feel like the game still falls short of great having a below expectation amount of content and surprisingly unimpressive visuals, despite Unreal Engine 4.

    Dead by Daylight is not a horrible game, but the glitches at launch were terrible. Teleporting into walls, aimlessly floating around in a strange position when caught in traps, and bad texture pop-in. However, the rest of the game is not horrible, it is playable, and mostly enjoyable. And most of the glitches got patched by the developers.

    Now I cannot access the game at all and this inability to access the game, so far at time of writing, has lasted 8 consecutive days. When I attempt to enter the game itself, a 'Save Game Error' appears asking me to contact Behaviour Interactive via an email address detailed in the error message. I have done so numerous times. The first time I received a response within 1 hour and 20 minutes giving me guidance to solve the problem if owning the game on PC. I had detailed specifically to them I was on Xbox One. I replied. The next response took hours and responses beyond that took days. I have requested a refund due to the sale of a faulty product. Behaviour Interactive staff seem to think their company policy overrides law and have stated no refunds are possible. They have sold a faulty product to the point where beyond simply the glitches I now cannot even enter the game and have not been able to for over a week. I have asked Behaviour Interactive numerous questions and have received either no response or generalised responses. This is a novice operation of a company and I will never buy a game made by them again nor would I advise anyone to. I have never experienced anything anywhere near as bad as this on any game on any platform previously. They have sold over 2 million copies of this game but want to keep the revenue and hope customers will be ignorant and accept it. I have had less than one month to use this game before prevention of access. I will look at dealing with them in a court. They've made a lot of money in total from a game badly made and I didn't pay for the stress of conversing with their team or for being able to access the game for such a minimal amount of time.     chases aren’t thrilling, theyre sluggish and cheap…
    And things are just as annoying for the killer…
    As the killer you run around the map trying to either zap or slash the players trying to survive..
    You can grab the hurt player, carry them to a hook and sacrifice them...
    Your goal is to sacrifice all 4 before they can escape…
    This really feels like a game of freeze tag…
    And players will constantly do the annoying playground tactics of run around a giant rock…
    or copping over a ledge over and over until you just get annoyed and crush it with your foot giving them time to run away...
    This definitely keeps the game feeling balanced…
    But it also keeps the game feeling annoying…
    especially the whole running around in circles but trying to get in a lucky swing…
    it is more satisfying to play as the killer though…
    Of catching someone who thinks they’re clever…
    And you’re given enhanced hearing so you can sense when a survivor is repairing a generator or just recently hid in a closet...
    These moments are enjoyable and almost make up for the overall dull experience that is dead by daylight…

    It's mad fun, the graphics are gorgeous and smooth, and no two games will ever be exactly the same. You just never know what might happen in any given game and some of the games have extremely intense and exciting endings where living and dying all comes down to one vital decision and or move.

    Easy 9 out of 10, but one of the best and most fun games I've ever played in my life and I grew up as a gamer in the 1980s, playing thousands of games in my life! ..Well worth the money, don't miss this one people!     Amazing game that I highly recommend. It is a bit buggy but the only bad reviews complain about the graphics and not the actual freaking game... anyways it's pretty scary and balance for both survivors and killers. No doubt one of my top PC favourite games!

    I have been playing this game for a few months now and watch it only getting worse and worse as bugs go unfixed and the the actions of others goes unchecked despite a report system in place. Hope that in time the game will get better as I do love it.

    However the lobby and matchmaking are really like a struggle, the real survival part is when you try to enter into a game.
    It has some bugs and some things that has to be fixed to let it achieve a sufficient score, i would say.
    The audio is amazing, the graphic is okay.

    hundreds of thousands people bought this game and dlc's but they won't afford a server, the matchmaking is screwed it disconnects often and if the player who hosts the game has a bad ping....its unplayable and you just lose....

Unfortunately, I did not enjoy the game. The optimization is bad. At first, I didn't have a problem, but by the seventh, eighth, and ninth game it's clear the game is not properly optimized and I'm running two MSI RX-480 video cards. The game is unbalanced. If you are a low level, whether killer or survivor, good luck. Survivor was boring; I remember playing one match as a survivor and I waited around for others to do work and walked out the door not lifting a finger other than escaping. Playing as a killer is the worse. The only one I got a KILL AFTER FIVE RANDOM GAMES was the witch and it took me three tries to kill the person on the meat hook. The only saving grace is the cost because the game is cheap. Unless you plan on playing with friends, you will not like the grind aspect of the game and how they use the microtransactions in the game **** up the flow. AGAIN, if you not playing with friends, pass on this. I will keep the game whenever I can convince my friend's to play.… Expand

    The gameplay is a fairly novel idea, which explains one of the points I gave the game. One player is the Killer, one of now-four, each with a unique special ability. The Killer must locate and kill the four Survivors they're made to host, with the advantages of superior footspeed and constant knowledge of the location of generators, the Survivors' objectives. Survivors must repair generators, open escape doors, and leave.

    Here's where the mess begins. Killers can only kill via the sacrificial hooks scattered around the level. In order to secure a kill, they must hit someone twice without them being healed in the interim, haul them over to an available hook, put them on it, and then either repeat the process two more times or prevent any other Survivor from coming near them for two minutes. Survivors can unhook each other, and apparently meat hooks through the intestines require no delicacy in removing, because doing so takes a fraction of a second and isn't interrupted if the hooked Survivor is struck instead of the unhooker by a misfortune of hitboxes. This is why some Killers take to their most reviled behaviour: Facecamping. Rather than attempt to play the game, some Killers will hover in front of their victims to ensure they generate the pitiful trickle of "BloodPoints" all life in the game revolves around. This is indescribably boring for both parties involved.

    Survivors can also destroy hooks, either with an item or with a unique slotted ability, which as one might predict, can lead to the Killer being completely impotent. Killers do have four indestructible hooks in their basements, but two problems arise there:
    -Maps are quasi-randomly generated, meaning the basement can easily be too far away from where anything is happening.
    -A Killer Perk which extends the time for which Survivors may be carried is near-mandatory, which also pisses off Survivors.

    Why can't a Killer -by name- actually kill people? Oh, they can. You just need to obtain and consume a single-use rare item which puts a stipulation on which person you may kill and is lost regardless of if it's used.

    While these and the generally shallow gameplay of Killer might be enough to make someone abandon the role alone, another fun factor is the terrible community. Toxic and entitled, countless players will go out of their way to antagonize Killers (since Survivors are better at this than Killers are), or even sabotage their teammates for more income. The miserible natures of these players are only supplmented by the developers' apparent inability to remove what are called "infinites;" areas where Survivors can make use of windows or terrain to be literally impossible for a Killer to catch, failing an error.

    Killers only need to be 20% of the population, and still Survivor queues are massive because the devs can't even make that many people enjoy the position.

    Perhaps the game would be less of a misery pit were it not constantly demanding the aformentioned BloodPoints (or BP). If you're a new player, collect a few hundred thousand (many hours fo gameplay, inflated further due to lack of game knowledge) before you can use a second Perk (up to 4) against all of your opponents, who likely have the complete meta build due to the complete absence of matchmaking. If you're a competitive player, enjoy agonizing over the meaningless presence of rankings in this asymmetrical, RNG-based game, and then feel the biases the arbitrary "pip" requirements of BP to earn in a match instill in the community. Thankfully, there is no reward for being a higher rank, or the community could find a way to be even more salty and miserible.

    The actual "shop" system is also RNG, and also an atrocity, but I'm running short on space. Suffice it to say that players must make many worthless purchases, even of items they outright don't want, can't share items between compatable characters, and are fundamentally locked into progressing a single character at a time as a result. Thankfully for Survivors, all this means is that it's more of a pain to get the Perks they want, because Survivors have nothing unique about them intrinsically.

    If you've even considered getting Dead by Daylight, get Friday the 13th, or Last Year, or nothing, or just wait. Just don't buy this.    … Expand

The wraith is so dumb he can just cloak and find you instantly cause you have no idea of where abouts where he is or if he is watching you unless you have a nice perk. The one main source of getting away from the killers while being seen instead of hiding is putting down the wooden door shields, and the nurse can ♥♥♥♥ing go through them? ARE YOU SERIOUS? Seriously make some new maps, re do the killers and get your ♥♥♥♥ together with the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥t ready up issues. I mean, how hard is it to code an auto ready up script? It feels like I am playing ready up simulator. Get your ♥♥♥♥ together or seriously consider drinking bleach...

    Hope they add more stuff to the game, to make it better
    just they really need to fix a lot of the bugs in the game and add a lot game modes like survival mode or 24 humans vs 4 killers (I mean working with each other and trying to kill the humans would a good mode and if they do add more killers than they should add more humans and more killers) and remove some the perks    Great game!

    Anyway hope they make a huge update soon that can make this game even better.
    So for right now, the game is a 7.5/10 if they do a update, like I said would fix and add the stuff in the game, it would be a 9.5/10.    … Expand

    Dead by Daylight is a missed opportunity. Despite an intriguing concept, the final result is flawed by a lot of small problems. You could still enjoy it, but in order to do so you should get over a terrible netcode, a grind-based progression system, and all too random rewards.

    Disastrous scoring system encourages some players to cooperate with the killer instead of running from him and reduces promising gameplay to nonsense (e.g. when the killer picks you up, throws you into a trap, resets it, picks you up, throws you into a trap, resets it, picks you up, throws you into a trap, resets it, picks you up...).
