    I give this a 10 because its gamplay is fast paced and dosnt take forever also the fact that u get to respawn. Graphics and sounds are awsome. Despite what others saying with guns being less accruate does make it more realitic.Also Maps are cluttered but its World War 2 i would hate to have to run for a min just to die from a sniper or mg and have to do it again and there are tactics if I give this a 10 because its gamplay is fast paced and dosnt take forever also the fact that u get to respawn.     nice optic....but there are only some maps...no fun games...not much weapons....only one play mode...CS:S is much better.

    I love DoD since first part, this is for me very good WWII shooter with nice graphic and realism (but not like in first episode). But This is grat game!

    This is a great flop...nice graphics but the gameplay has been fucked over so hard that DoD 1.6 don't even bother with it. Thanks VALVe for killing the DoD community with this crap game that you guys never update. Maybe you'll invest more time into making crappy games like Red Orchestra to get more money and never update the solid games that actually have a fan-base. Goodjob, Valve.

    Despite critics complaints over limited amounts of maps, this game is unbelievably great. As an player of DoD Original since its beta days, the game has come quite a long ways and on the new Source engine, only goes further. Gameplay is more fast paced, realistic, and of course more visually stunning than the Original.     I'll never go playing a other game. Not expensive and you can go online 24/7 and play and play. If you are tired of playing the in same towns just look for custom maps.

    Fast and fun. Voice chat not just a plus, but necessary. Great communities if you can find them. Small balancing issues on maps, needs a full server for best results. I suggest looking for 30+ slot servers only.

    Been playing this for almost 6yrs and it's awesome. Best part about it is throwing their nades back at them an seein how many you can kill. Even more fun with Friendly Fire on and killing an enemy throwing a grenade and have them kill their own team from it. You know ya wanna buy it , go on , that's right , do it right now. Beware a of the Woody with primed nades.Been playing this for almost 6yrs and it's awesome. Best part about it is throwing their nades back at them an seein how many you can kill.     This is my Favorite game. I don't know why but I lose hours and hours playing this gem! The graphic improvement from the prior version is awesome. All in all Its pace and gameplay are better than any other shooter I have played.

    This game is pretty good. The gameplay is awesome. It needs some more developement in terms of more and bigger maps, map objectifs, and more classes. But the maps that are out there are extraordinary. What i don't like about this game is that you die so fast, and the kills are so cheap.

    Excellent gameplay but few included maps which has been quickly remedied by the community. Although it does have a steep learning curve when first starting out, it's a great feeling once you can slaughter the opposition with any weapon including your trusty shovel!

    A very brutal game with a harsh learning curve, made all the more satisfying when you begin to realize the vast potential for tactics on the (unfortunately few) detailed and warren like maps. It's a refreshing change from CS that's for sure.

    Valve screwed the pooch on this one. Gamespeed was pushed to a frenetic pace, compared to the original, which is a plus if you're more into deathmatches than tactics. The graphics and physics, however, are well concieved and executed! The free mod was superior in all regards, but I still enjoy this newer version enough to give it a "thumbs up".

    How does this get a worse rating than Red Orchestra? This game is by far the best WWII game on the market! I will never play any other WWII game, multiplayer or singleplayer! Nothing can compare to the excellent graphics, sounds, weapons, and realism in general.

    This was a very intense and addicting game for the time i was able to play it. i loved every second of it. i played during the 2 day preview or whatever it was called. the maps were really easy to learn, the action was never far away, and i enjoyed working as a team. i'm a MOH:AA fan. i personally think the online gameplay was more fun than counterstrike:source, but not as much fun asThis was a very intense and addicting game for the time i was able to play it. i loved every second of it. i played during the 2 day preview or whatever it was called. the maps were really easy to learn, the action was never far away, and i enjoyed working as a team. i'm a MOH:AA fan. i personally think the online gameplay was more fun than counterstrike:source, but not as much fun as MOH:AA. oh yeah, one more thing... think about how much satisfaction was to be had when you captured all strongpoints/flags and won the match, wasn't that great?… Expand

    For some reason this game never gets boring. I think the player community (not much hacking at all) keeps this game as fun as it is. I own many FPS's, but this is my favorite.

    This new DoD uses the new engine to it's fullest! I feel like an Army recruiter and constantly ask my friends and co-workers to pay the small amount of $20.00 for this game. I even offer to buy the game off of them if they don't eventually love playing it. The simple commands and fast action make this my favority on-line shooter. I'm 36 years old and in the beginning these young "punks" annoyed the heck out of me, but now I completely pawn them - well.. sometimes, hehe.     Except for some little bugs, the fact that each server has different movement setups and the missing map versatility it puts you into stunning battle action with great teamwork capabilities without the boring waiting while others camp around for hours in case you died.

    usually in some games teamwork helps, but in this game it is necessary and in the proccess of taking over a flag, u c ur teammates around u get shot and dye or c their helmet fly off. Very Realistic

    Total garbage compared to the original. The bazooka class is far too overpowered due to the fact that allies get a carbine as a secondary. Weapons were taken out, and currently, models look worse than before. Valve should of stuck with a direct port, cause I know I want my money back. Search for DODC or Day of Destruction.

    A fully realized replacement for DoD 1.3, beautiful maps, fully rendered sounds and sights, two additional maps released since the game was put out and two more on the way, loads of servers to play on and continues to be supported by the developers. Needs more maps, some tweeking of the weapons to off-set an Axis advantage, and some hit-box issues that need to be addressed.

He goes down in a crumpled heap as you dive for cover. Mgs firing out of a thick cloud of smoke, tracers flying just over your head as you cower in a shellhole. The last stand at the Alamo, you and three allies spraying bullets at a crowd of rushing enemies, praying that reinforcments reach you in time. Picking off people in the street with your rifle before a rifle grenade lands at your feet and blows you to high heaven. Cooking off a grenade so it explodes a split second before landing in a crowd of enemies. the courage, the heroism, the carnage and the intensity of small unit action has never been as good as day of defeat source. no game since the first dod compares to it. hope i see yall on the field.… Expand

The classes and weapons have been tweaked for just the right settings. The only thing that makes it lose a point is the hud, which is way too big and bulky. WTF is wrong with this game? horrible fps declined... don't buy this game...sucks, horrible... it's just same as CS:S only characters and vehicle stuffs are added... As usual, Valve don't really put some efforts into the games...

    I think the source engine make the maps more beautiful. It Negative: Few Maps available...but there will be more... The new remaked map dod_kalt has many bugs. Also the game itselfs still has bugs.

    Gorgeous looking game...the lack of official maps isnt a problem. Most people choose not to play the customs as much (overall) anyways. The official maps that do come out are great, just give the game some time to build itself up even more. Probably one of the greatest applications to $20 I've ever spent.

    Day of defeat Source is underrated. The game didn´t have such massive advertising as other games but needs more eye on it. When you are into the game for a while and know where and what to do, ist better than Counter Strike Source. The only thing is, it could need more official maps.

The sound effects are also incredible and the gameplay is excellent, very tactical and varied. I enjoy it much more than Counter Strike. The only problem is that there are just 6 maps, but new maps are on the road, with 1 new map every couple of months. graphically is the best game I've ever seen. with HDR and more detailed models is even better than Half-Life 2, Doom 3, or F.E.A.R.     Well this game isnt perfect. However, it is one of the most beautiful shooters out there. It also demands a great deal of skill to be succesful. You will likely spend 40+ hours at it before you can really even begin to rack up the kills. To be good at this game is to truly call yourself a gamer.

    Atmospheric for a multiplayerwith great background noise, you dont have to be a geek on this 24/7 to stand a chance like counter strike, as it seems to reward you for cunning. Within seconds ur in ww2 and having fun, which is what it's all about. Graohics are good and it will be added to in time, so things too look forward too. GREAT!

All the guns' accuracy has been lowered, which is more realistic but annoying... you can unload a whole mag at an enemy with the mp40 or thompson from about 20 meters away and not hit him once.     Extremely buggy, limited maps, limited weapons, but gradually (because of steam) it gets better. Tiny updates now and then help it get better and better gradually. Do I love every moment of it? Oh yes...

    Like some of the reviewers, I enjoyed the gameplay of the old DoD much more. Mostly, I feel that the new one plays very fast and feels less real than the original despite more realistic graphics. If gameplay could be a bit more realistically paced and the levels a little less claustrophobic, I'd be completely on board and giving this new DoD a 10.

    I expect to be playing DoD a lot more than "Couterstrike: Source"... I recommend DoD:S to the multiplayer action crowd, but don't come crying to me when things start getting stale.

    While the game still needs some patching, and is unfortunately not DoD as we know it, this is still an absolutely fantastic package; those after a new multiplayer shooter can’t really go wrong with this one. Oh, and expect this score to go up over time as Valve patches out various problems.
