    THE WW2 war game online! It's a real, fantastic simulation of WW2. Graphics is very good, as well the phisyx effect. Need just 10$ to buy it, but it's worth more!!! Buy it if you like war game FPS

    The game is not as you see it in the trailers. When you see the trailers you see a real battle between the Allies and the Axis, but when you play it yourself you will notice people just go for the blood instead of the fun. People are more busy to kill each other like a DeathMatch than having real fun and try to live into the roles as Allied/Axis. However the whole idea is great, Allies vs. Axis.

    A great game to same the least! Day of Defeat: Source is extremely fast-paced, the gametypes require players to depend on each-other and work as a team, the visuals are gorgeous, and the maps are realistic and well-designed. The only real downside to this game is the number of stock maps available, but for the price the customer pays, it is well worth it!

But, at the same time, it does what it is supposed to, which is being a semiaccurate WW2 game, and it does that pretty well. And for ten dollars off of Steam, it's a great buy for anyone who enjoys a Okay, here it is.     My Favorite GAME!!! Best gaming(in despite of some CS players in the servers) not good resolution, but excellent game... I think Support is the worst... 3 days do download SDK, my ticket for 3 days expired in second map I wa playing (10 minutes) many days to send invites.

    I love the game, i played all counter strike, both day of defeat and some more games from steam, i realy love day of defeat source. i been playing it over 2 years now, and ill never get bored of it. well done.

    Never played a online game so long time. The fun is much more worth then i paid for this game. Simple but a lot more fun then any other expensive game.

    Despite lacking depth, its probably one of the most atmospheric WWII shooters out. Unlike its slow-paced sister Counter-Strike, DoD offers fast-paced, hardcore combat. Bullets whiz, men fall and grenades explode around you. Truly atmospheric. The guns may be have a high recoil, but this is more of a tactical balance than a problem. You can't just gun 'n' run.

    I love this game, most negative feedback comes from players who are not accustomed to the playstyle and because of that get owned by more experienced players. And btw the hitbox issue was fixed in the 2nd or 3rd patch if I remember correctly. New maps have also been added to the game. Some "Camper Strike" players have lots of difficulties adapting to this game because camping and sitting I love this game, most negative feedback comes from players who are not accustomed to the playstyle and because of that get owned by more experienced players.     I think this is one of the best team based games out there. It forces the group to actually work as a team. And the lone wolf is really only a distraction. I focuses on Flag captures and not kills. So you are really forced to get objectives if you really want to win.

    OMG!!!! This game is the bomb... the graphics are way good, the gameplay is good...!! Hectic game!! Could spend 6 hours straight playing this game and u would't get bored.

    Been playing for years now, although I liked it better before Valve took over, I still play every night, and I always play avalanche. Proof that playing the same map, over and over and over and over again for years is still FUN!

    As Sean said, the gun recoil is a horrendous thing. Guns just dont fly up in the air like they are portrayed to do. The guns act like the weigh nothing so they fly up in the air when fired, this simply doesnt happen with a real gun. BTW you can shoot an MG42 while standing in real life. Despite this major flaw the game is pretty, and is worth getting if you can get it cheap.

    A worthy successor to Day of Defeat, the reduced, simple, fun classes, hectic action, and arguably the best Source engine visuals to date, this game deserves some play time by all first person shooter fans.

    The sound of machine gun fire over the sandbags you crouch under is amazing. If you play the game enough you will even notice that every single object in the maps are placed perfectly, and it balances the map. While the German weapons are faster and have more capacity, the US ones are focused more on accuracy, and this also adds to the intensity.     This game is alright but ...... im troubled by the hit box and the gun recoiling way to much. Not only that, but there are many cheaters/togglers in DOD that deny it. Overall with out hacks and the trouble of the recoil. This game is okay. This graphic is good and the community also.

    Its an ok game but its missing many of the old elements and there are many bugs on the maps i also find the maps to be little under designed. but in total its just a game which gets boring very quick.

    This is my favorite Multiplayer-Game, it's very well balanced, offers great graphics and sound. If you want variety - play custom maps, which are developed by a very active community.

Some games seem to have the notion that when you fire a gun the kick forces it up, this is true, but DOD goes way overboard with kick.     There's nothing to say about the visuals used, the Source engine is still looking great, especially with the new features updated lately. But that doesn't make up for the rather poor mechanism and lack of innovation in this game, it's probably just as frustrating as the first game first found as a mod for the original Half-Life.

The huge range of maps and weapons enables anyone to enjoy themselves wether they prefer sitting back with a machine gun, or in the faces of the enemy with a Thompson or MP40. Full of clans and communities, ranging from leagues teams to realism units. Make it your own.

    The first thing that strikes me about this game is the awesome sounds , the ambience and speed of the game keeps you on your feet . All the maps are well made and at any point there are 3 or more directions where from u may get killed.     Excellently paced world war 2 shooter, kicks the crap out of CoD2. Minor bugs pop up from time to time more associated with the Source game engine than DoD itself. I just wish there were more maps but theres always a very active community creating more and more everyday! Theres no better place to kill some time than a Day of Defeat Source server, come and play you'll love it!!

    Generally dull and extremely unrealistic. A terrible representation of the amazing source engine. Valve really put this game out fast and didn't concentrate on game play. Don't get me wrong, it's decent when you have nothing else to play, but compared to Red Orchestra, it does not hold up for mature and rational minded thinkers.

    Its so fast paced and so involved that if you stop to take a breather, you'll be flanked. League play takes it to a whole other level of intense warfare and strategic movement. If you like to be a lone gunmen who depends on no one and nothing....this game is not for you. Teamwork and communication are the key to being successful in Day Of Defeat:Source.

    It is really fast-paced. The graphics and audio are alot better than Half Life 2 and CS:Source and the game is pretty well balanced. I like how the guns are pretty inaccurate but deal a lot of damage. This causes for some nice firefights. Greatly improved from DOD (the original) as grenades are not overpowering as it use to be.

    I like this game so much... its like a new version of Call of Duty 3! This game is so good. Good job Valve! Continue your perfect games! I play Counter-strike: source, Half Life 2 Deatmatch and Day Of Defeat: source and I have that you guys (valve) make a game like GTA 4 ... that would be great!

    Me and my friend own a copy of this game and it is GODLY! The weapon damage and ragdoll physics are calculated perfectly. Great job Valve!

    This game has amazing grahpics for the source engine. Its somewhat evened out but not to much but still they did well on this for the year but theres always mods to edit it which is nice cause the encluded the sdk thing, So yeah id rate this very well i hope that u make another day of defeat (dod,dod:s) just make it so those guns have less of a kick back its somewhat a lil to much and theThis game has amazing grahpics for the source engine.     Disaster, the gun damages are all screwy compared to original dod, they cut out the British and a lot of the weapons and no dod_charlie? And the hand model skins are awful. The 3 is only because the maps are extremely pretty.

    DoD: S is a great game. It involves Team-work, individual skill, and knowledge of each of the maps to accomplish the in-game objectives effectively. It is a very fun game for public playing, but also very good for competitive play for the more serious/interested. The WWII genre isn't always widely accepted anymore, but being a WWII Buff only makes me like the game more. I can't DoD: S is a great game. It involves Team-work, individual skill, and knowledge of each of the maps to accomplish the in-game objectives effectively. It is a very fun game for public playing, but also very good for competitive play for the more serious/interested. The WWII genre isn't always widely accepted anymore, but being a WWII Buff only makes me like the game more. I can't compare this game to many others (Especially not Counter-Strike) because of the difference of gameplay, as I see it. Bottom line, it's the best Online FPS game on the market right now, with very few flaws, the biggest being the unstable developers platform and the minimal amount of "Official" Maps. If you need a new game or are just looking for some cheap fun, pick up DoD: S.… Expand

    As a dod veteran, I must say the game was a particular flop. If it weren't for the source engine this game wouldn't last long. I would have definitely perferred if valve had left everything as it was and just changed the engine just for eye candy.

    This game is great! Not only is the community content a plus, the game physics are wonderful. The admin controls are friendly. The only downside seems to be ping issues when going head to head with any user having the better pc affecting the outcome.

    Great game. I can sit for hours playing this. Its not boring like CS because you don't have to wait long when you die, and the graphics and physics ROCK! I have bought the package: CS:S, DoD:S and DM:S. I just play DoD:S now because it's the best of the three.

    A timeless classic - despite the fact that there are hardly ever new maps! A shame because the gameplay is FANTASTIC! Worth every cent!

    This game is horrible, use source motor but the graphics. The sight of all the arms cannot be used, the way to act of the weapon when shooting is terrible

    This game has been one of the best online World War II games around since its inception back in the late 90's. After so many years and some MAJOR game updates and changes to play style it still provides many hours of enjoyment.

    This game has gotten really great with some bugs fixed and wider selection of maps. There's also much less newies floating about, and finding a good server with skilled players is always easy and really makes it interesting. Definitely my favorite game to play at the moment, and has been for a while.

    'The Thinking Man's CSS' is what I think best sums up this game, however as with all mods-turned-professional it's not without it's problems, related almost entirely to content. It is also not particularly newbie friendly, being unforgiving when you face up to more professional players.     Basicaly the best game ever. I love camping at wermacht spawn with my thompson. The bullets whizzing past your ears and the sound of mg42sin the backround is great.

    It is a near perfection in the WW2 games as it perfectley blends realism and the "all hell" aspect of real world war II battles. I found all the maps to be quite enjoyable as long as you join the right server, and to kill with any of the weapons is oh so sastisying.

    This game is great it includes all the best weaponry of WWII and uses the steam source engine, it can't get much better than this.

    I was usually at the bottom of any server score list, but it was ALWAYS a blast! Loved sneaking behind the allied lines and scoping with the fg42. Best mod next to Natural Selection (get that too!)

    I expect to be playing DoD a lot more than "Couterstrike: Source"... I recommend DoD:S to the multiplayer action crowd, but don't come crying to me when things start getting stale.

    While the game still needs some patching, and is unfortunately not DoD as we know it, this is still an absolutely fantastic package; those after a new multiplayer shooter can’t really go wrong with this one. Oh, and expect this score to go up over time as Valve patches out various problems.
