Daemon X Machina needs some work. Its mechanics are rough, its controls are unwieldy and confusing, and its story is difficult to follow. While it’s mildly entertaining to pilot a giant robot, there are other games that pull off the experience more effectively.

Playing on PC brings sharper resolution and a much more stable and smooth framerate, for sure, but none of it amounts to a night-and-day difference. Go with your heart and play the game on whichever machine speaks to you the most, because at the end of the day, you’re guaranteed to have a good time no matter how you play this game.

A potentially interesting game ruined by a stupid off-center camera. Devs, put the character in the center of the screen.

For people who are familiar with AC and are put off by the visuals, this is a good mix of some of the earlier AC games and AC4, where the presentation and some of the level design and story is very similar to the older games and the faster pace with less restrictive movement is akin to 4, but maybe not as fast as 4a for what its worth.

The character creator is awesome, along with the upgrades effecting the look of your character and unlocking particular abilities, which is all very nice aesthetically and lets you create any stereotypical anime character you can imagine, though im not sold on the restrictive nature of the upgrade system where you will have to chose between a useful bonus to your mech or a nifty ability for your character, I think the two should probably have been separated and then fleshed out at the very least.

This games great and fingers crossed we get more.
