    Even the basic balanced alternation between boss slaying expeditions and tending your sheep will provide hours of fun, maybe even dozens of hours. And there are even more things to do in the game, including mini-games like fishing or playing backgammon. [Issue#321]

    Cult of the Lamb looks like a roguelike in The Binding of Isaac way, but in reality, it is also a deep god game. The message behind the title is: you have to be afraid of losing those who the day before you treated as pawns. You feel omnipotent and invincible, but the truth is that you are a slave to others like anyone else.

    Offering a great balance of battling and managing, Cult of the Lamb offers you the best of both worlds and provides you with enough of each genre to make it an engaging experience. Its colony management elements may not be as intricate as you would hope, but it does offer a good amount of customization and freedom to shape your cult how you want.

    Altogether, Cult of the Lamb is an impressive title that leans heavier on the Roguelite genre than anything else, while still pulling everything it needs from the other genres that separate the games from the Indie crowd. Not every feature or mechanic is perfect, and the story is more interesting as lore than it is as a narrative, but that doesn't seem to be the developer's main focus. With that in mind, Cult of the Lamb succeeds where it matters, from the Roguelite dungeons to the dark cartoon aesthetic.

    Cult of the Lamb is a strangely cute combination of horror and bizarre occult. The Rogue-like action battle part that has built on a basic foundation is refreshing, and the management part is similar to that of Tycoon games. It successfully combined these two elements organically to provide immersive gameplay.

    Gameplay: 6/10 very little depth to the combat, very easy unless you play on max difficulty (which just strips your hp away). The city builder aspect is good if you like that kind of thing, personally I cannot stand it which made me psychotic.

    Recommend?: if you like roguelikes and or citybuilding you will like this, its a very charming game and fun to play. The gameplay loop can get a little stale due to lack of mechanic depth, so it has very limited replayability to me.    … Expand

    Very solid game, it combines the village management and roguelite parts of the game really well and I definitely enjoyed the gameplay loop.
