    I've been playing this game alot, I mean ALOT. Still after a couple, 3 or 4 years its still as amazing as it was the first time you tried it.

    Interesting game that trys at a recreating modern realistic SWAT team like gun action. While remaining some degree of realism to the average player, a real look at the mechanics of the game reveals many unrealistic points which can be exploited by better players.     Not "one of the best games ever" not "very fun". Counter-Strike 1.6 is THE best game ever made and if anyone dissagrees has not felt the amazing feeling of CS 1.6.

    The interface is layed out really well and being able to edit them is great. Everyone has their own way of playing. The guns made are very balanced. Each with its own advantage and disadvantages. The HUD are so detailed and perfectly positoned.

    One of the greatest games of all time (certainly my favourite). If you can, go buy it (it's cheap, and the cd-rom 'talkie' version is much more than the smaller, floppy disk version that you're likely to find if you steal it online). Oh, and try not to cheat... a walkthrough really shortens a game that you want to spend as much time as possible playing.

    I only started since 1.3 but even so, this game is still one of my favorites to play and still continues to entertain me. As for it's update CS: Source, I can't say the same for. CS 1.6 is definatelly a classic.

    I played this game since one of the BETA's and it still rocks. The most addictive game MP ever. No matter how long you don't play, after 5 minutes playing you're hooked again. If you don't have it yet, buy it. Worth your money!

    The number of players and servers at any given time says it all. I have played way too many hours a day for way too long and still cant get enough of it.

    Score says it all. There's another version out called Counter-Strike: Source, but it's nothing compared to how the original Counter-Strike is. Plus, now adays it's really really cheap, like 10 dollars off of steam. As well, it has like the biggest competitive gaming community in the world, with hundreds of thousands of dollars worth of tournaments and players etc... good stuff.

    Been playing for a long time. This is the one and only game I ever come back too, I rarly ever get tired of this game. I can play for 12 hours a day for a year and still not be tired of this game.

    Played this game since Beta, still the only game I go back to after every other game, I can never get over the gameplay and league potentials. GG (P.S. 1.6 is alot more realistic then source, no foot-HS's )

    Game of the world of any time in FPS! You never get bored, might find online friends or comrades, soldiers fight next to you! I play it for more than 6 years since 1.5 and I return to it after month of waiting too!

    i played it in cyber cafes b4 and it was da bomb! i just got cs from steam 2day and it's been updating for 10 hrs!! i just cant wait 'til its done so i can whip some candy @$$ on this b!*ch. lol. update is only 31% its probly gonna take like 3 days 'til it 's completely updated omfg! but other than that i kno this game is the sh*t and i dont mind waiting. =)

    Though the game seems repetative, your playing against different people every time, so the competition changes. If you play them again, they use different stuff. Yes speaking in 2006 terms graphics arn't that good, But for this game comming out in 2000, the graphics are amazingly good. The game was meant to be realistic because most people like it.     I love this game. Whatever you say about it, it's much better than source or other egoshooters. It's more difficult to learn it than to learn the no recoil source. In my opinion, the best game ever.

    This is truly a great game. Way better than the others Black hawk down,delta force, delta force-xtrem etc...but how ever there still needs to be a few things fixed like Calvin said, the players hold left handed guns in wrong hand, and same with right...and how u can defuse thew boxes, or even walls... but other than that the game rocks!

While the skill gap between new players and pro players is huge, all that seperates these players is their twitch reaction For what it does, it's a great game; problem is, it doesn't do much. I've shot handguns and assault rifles for a while now, and a *very* minor thing that bugs me in CS is how your av hold left handed guns in his right hand, and right handed ones in his left (so that the brass ejects across your body, towards your eyes...hot brass stings like shit when it hits your eyelid). If you like simpler, faster paced games, you'll love CS. It's very solid (few glitches, movement/shooting/gameplay meshes great) and hackers, while much more apparent than in other games, aren't much of a bother; if one joins the server, find another server to play in. Deserves a 6 because despite what anyone else here says, it's very repetitive and does not take much skill other than being fast with your crosshairs. Just not my cup of tea.… Expand

    GRATES ONLINE GAME OUT THERE... this i the agme that is made for games... you can have lan with this game unlike you can with CS:S because it just an online game and rubish recoil so there is no point in lan and this game also has many loyal players which valve have left and havent done any updates in ages... Thats the way our loyaalty is returned...

    Ive played this game for like 3 years now and i newer get tired on it ive played half-life 1-2 and ive played soure and like many many of the mods on half-life 1-2 and no game is like the regular c-s. it owns all. c-s is a game for all players in the world. i love this game.

    best online game bar none. i dont care what anyone says...this is awesome...if you look hard enough, you will find a lifetime of fun in this game. the only game that comes close to this experience is battlefield 2. long live counterstrike and its many players.

People just cry because the game has been out for about 7 years now, and they don't like the idea of joining a server and getting rolled by people who have been playing the game competitively for that long. I bet if you took a bunch of new players and threw them into Quake 3 now, they would get destroyed by the players that have been playing for years, and then say everyone cheats.… Expand

    Like all games it does have its flaws. The only downside about this game is the people playing it and abusing (being stupid/idiots/annoying to others) a past time that many people enjoy. The game requires great skill, cunning, bravery, wits, and what not to succeed with what you do. It is by far, the Best strategic realism setting type of game to date.     bugs need to be fixed but i love paintball mods servers (very rare) the mods cant be beat but i still like halo2 mods more on xbox live plus its full of action

    Sweet Game... BUT.. there are many cheaters still on servers. and VALVE has yet not done much to fix this. Other than this disapointing peice the overall game is quite satisfying.

    This is a great game. Always new servers, always fun. Tho there are hackers, Valve is making progress in stopping them and they can be easily banned. This is a must have game!
