    This game is the only game that I have bought and continued to play as time passes. This game is addictive and very fun. Just killing one person in a regular server makes me feel good on the inside. I would recommend this game to anyone who like shooting games. The reason I gave it a nine is because steam and some server administrators neglect the "cheaters". I've gotten tired of this game, moved on to another, but I always, always ALWAYS come back to this. This is one of the very few games that actually requires skill to play. Call of Duty 4 makes me sick. I can't stand all the other popular shooter games out there Ridiculous game... started playing it in 2002 in 4th grade and it's 2008 now and I'm still hooked to it.     I have been playing CS since the mod first came available. This game is one of several FPS games I have played over the years and the only one that I find I want to continue playing till the early hours of the morning. You can always find a good game with great players, without being disapointed. It's fast paced, high action, with very little interruption in game play, if any, due to lag.

    I started playing this game 04 and have been hooked since. Countless weekends spent playing this game for hours on end only stopping to eat, drink, and .... I almost said sleep. One of the few games I've ever played where you can have fun with people without the need for the competitive aspect of the game. Until time stops, CS will continue to be the best online shooter ever.

    This game was super somedays... But no every time i play it, i end after 15 minutes because its so boring now. All over and over agin. Its just waste of time playing it now. And the other thing is that this game plays so many kids under 16yr and servers are full of players like 10 year old screaming and doing some horrible things all over the map.

    By far the most teamplay oriented, tactical, pulsawekening, private skill dependent game ever. So simple while still so advanced. It reaches the lvl of personal performance that football/soccer offers. Even tho it's old, the graphics still gives the absolute best picture of enviorement.     I remember playing this for the first time in high school in 2000 on a 56k modem (Pentium 400, Riva TNT) and thinking how awesome it was. Even more so when I went to a lan center and played with 31 others on lan. After playing pubs for a few months I soon learned the teamwork clan aspect of the game (5v5 in CAL) and I was hooked even more. Playing matches in a 5v5 clan vs clan environment I remember playing this for the first time in high school in 2000 on a 56k modem (Pentium 400, Riva TNT) and thinking how awesome it was. Even more so when I went to a lan center and played with 31 others on lan. After playing pubs for a few months I soon learned the teamwork clan aspect of the game (5v5 in CAL) and I was hooked even more. Playing matches in a 5v5 clan vs clan environment at high levels is the best gaming experience you can have right now in my opinion. Now it's 7 years later and I've graduated from college and am about to get married with a new job, upgraded computer (Quad Core 3.4ghz, 8800GTS) on broadband I still enjoy this game as much as I did back in 2000. Of course, I don't have as much time to play and am not in a clan anymore but it's still fun to go in and join pick up games or enter a pub server for gun game deathmatch in your free time. CS: Source was a dissapointment but this is a timeless classic that stands the test of time. Even now it's the most popular FPS game in the world.… Expand

    well this game... is really fun playing with your friends and so.. but still.. almost all games gets really fun when playing with friends so i give this an eight... still its giving me hours of entertainment but its not the game really that does that.. its the playing with friends thing...

    If Steam had "locked" the cfg so just rates could be changed it had been a 10* but i see scriptcheaters and illegal cfg hacks everytime i play, and the damn kids just says: the game is made that way to hack the cfg..........where is the moral? i can`t understand how people can sit and play and think that they are good when it is only their cfg hacks that is good.     This game started out amazing, but over the years you come to realise that its just too repetitive! Same thing over and over, with added cheaters. I would suggest playing some Team Fortress Classic.

    What's up with the cheating problems?! Who cares, because that has nothing to do with the actual game. This is one of the most popular multiplayer games now and still. Play a few rounds and you'll see why it's a 10/10.

    I like this game and it's fun to play. But... It has some minor faults. Glitching and hacking is easy to come by because some people have no life and dedicate their wasted lives to finding ways to do that. Besides that though, I enjoy letting off some steam and blasting off heads.

Big waste of money for the boomers who are looking to use their wiis and have a bit of sport. Smooth moves and wii sports are better. The 45 minute opening intro is absurd. Trash material.     Valve is a great compeny and they can make great games. But, VAC (valve anti cheat) isnt so that good. I think cs should merge with css's grafix and make a cs1.6:source. That may you can have the fun of the game w.o the bad grafix. Any way, Great game!

Communication rocks, instead of having to type it you can either use the default ones, (z,x,c...) or have ur own voice chat as ur real voice, needed microphone. Absolute best game, addictive and very repetetive!

    I recently got this game off steam and I like this game. The gameplay is awesome and the vast majority of servers is entertaining. The reason why I'm giving this game a 8 is because of the glitches people use on the different maps. Besides that this game rocks. Go buy it now.

    Counter-Strike is a fast-pace, intensive action game. You can play it for hours without notice that you have been sitting there for like 5 hours. It´s wonderful.

    Played the game sens beta, loved it all the time. But nowdays i only play for funt from time to time at public servers. But no more, all this cheating, whinning and unmature behavior makes it NO-fun at all, so to all you cheaters/whiners/unmatures thanks A LOT for screwing this game up ! =/

    This game is absolutely phenomenal the diversity within it in fact since the past year I played I've created 6 maps 8 running servers 2 clans thousands of websites and forums met many people created gun models and now its brought me into ut04 and soon to be ut/3 map making/modeling. The team based formula strays from the endless respawning and fragging of deathmatch style online games, meaning you need to use your wits and co operate with your team-mates to become victorious.     This is by far the best team based first person shooter. You can't compare any other games to Counter-Strike, because it's in a class of its own. I really do feel that anyone could enjoy this game. You won't regret buying this.

    Best Multiplayer game of all time nothing comes close to this, the more you play this game the more hooked you become it is fun at all levels of ability. Especially as you do not need the best of computers to run it makes it a game for everyone who likes shoot em ups which involve thinking instead of mindless slaying.

    Classic game and #1 multi player game in the world ahead of source in everything except graphics fun for beginners in the public servers but the real fun begins when one becomes good enough to join a team and begin playing competitively and join online leagues such as CAL and CEVO Easily the best competitive game ever.

    I've been playing this game since pre-1.0, and I still enjoy playing it. It's definitely one of the best games out there, and I'm glad that I found it way back when.

    The game is a classic and after many years of gaming I felt it was time I gave it the rating it deserves. No other first person shooter for me has the same team gameplay, and its fast & exciting.

This is fun, you can have new maps, new mods, new people to play with so it never gets boring. Try this game out and be stuck with it forever.     Better than its attempted-remake, Counter-Strike: Source. It is much more difficult to master, but also much more rewarding for skilled players. Also, most all major competitive tournaments, with thousands of dollars in prizes, use this version of Counter-Strike (1.6), over Counter-Strike: Source. CS 1.6 is a necessity in any gamers library, and is especially fun at LAN parties with friends.

    Best game I have ever played online by far. I play it a lot and it doesn't take long to become good at it. Definitely a must buy, cheap, fun, lasting.

    Ive been playing for 5 years now. and its only getting BETTER this game will never go anywhere fast and is the best online shooter on the planet. Byaahhhh!

    The best first-person shooter ever! I've been playin this game since its 15. CS release and slowly been progressing to now I'm at CS:Source which even boosts the experience more. This game will probably never die out.

    Lovely gameplay, hard to find a matching game. You can just play 1 round or play for hours, still rox after so many years.

    The game is an okay FPS game for ppl wh wants some action but it is old and cheating is getting even worse than when i started in beta..
    Cheating in this game is something everyone should try for a few days or so, but its actualley making you even worse than you were in the begging. I was number 2 in denmark for ablut 5months, and i must say that the game have become to easy to cheat in..
