May 7, 2020Cloudpunk is obviously a game made with great love and care. It shines through the visuals, the soundtrack, the city, and most especially the characters. Huxley, Camus, and Ben are easily some of the characters in any video game yet released in 2020. The gameplay is not particularly deep but it is solid and enjoyable in its relaxing way. While Cloudpunk does have a few minor faults (mainly the camera), none of them detract away from what is otherwise a wonderful experience. Get your multipass ready, it’s time to go for a ride.

May 7, 2020From its striking visuals and atmospheric soundtrack, to its fantastic storytelling, Cloudpunk really is a one-of-a-kind Cyberpunk experience.
-
Apr 27, 2020Cloudpunk isn’t a perfect game, but it comes darn close. At the very least, it’s one of the best cyperpunk experiences available right now. I have no doubt that I’ll be picking up a Switch copy when the game eventually makes its way to consoles, so that I can hop into the incredible cyberpunk world wherever I go. Unlike the streets of Liberty City, the treachery and debauchery in the skies of Nivalis do not in the least bit deter me from wanting to spend more time in its neon city limits.
-
May 7, 2020Cloudpunk is a tremendous accomplishment in creating a setting; in the sub-genre of cyberpunk, it knows few rivals. There’s a sense of place that demands your attention and dares you to comb every corner and jaw with every sentient settler. For a game about choice, a simplistic approach to gameplay can, at times, deprive the player of meaningful agency, which feels as though it soars in the face of the message. It’s still an absolute pleasure to drink in this one unforgettable night in Nivalis, Cloudpunk is a frontrunner for indie game of the year.
-
May 1, 2020Cloudpunk brings a dystopia full of humour and human abysses to life. Cyberpunk fans will be pleased.
-
Apr 24, 2020Cloudpunk is simply the best way to wait for Cyberpunk 2077 with its gorgeous city, its intoxicating atmosphere and a very well-written adventure. A must play this spring.
-
Dec 14, 2020With a inspired recreation with voxels of a futurist city, great ambiance and a interesting story, Cloudpunk is worth checking out.
-
Aug 10, 2020It does however feature the most wonderfully realised sci-fi city I’ve ever had the pleasure to fly around, and goddamn, it’s the first flying car game I’ve ever played, and I can’t believe the stunning lack of flying car games in the gaming market. I hope this starts an incredible new genre. It’s got a fun cyber storyline, great lore, a few good lead characters that will keep you entertained, and a lush soundtrack to rival the best in the business.
-
Jul 27, 2020Cloudpunk is a fantastic game that is a lot of fun to play. When I began playing, I assumed that it was going to be a simple pick-up-and-deliver game, but what we get it so much more. While there were a few minor issues like the length of the dialogue and a lack of save options, the good heavily outweighs the bad: the story was intriguing and kept me hooked, the controls weren’t overly complicated, and I enjoyed the range of graphics on show.
-
CD-ActionJun 25, 2020In Cloudpunk I found ‘Blade Runner’, ‘Drive’, ‘Altered Carbon’ and even ‘Lobo’ vibes scattered around the cyberpunk city. The gameplay itself can be a bit repetitive but if you drive off the beaten path and bother NPCs on the way, you are in for a treat. [07/2020, p.63]
-
May 22, 2020A huge city in a state of entropic decay to explore, a diverse and memorable cast to meet, and an engaging new spin on adventure game navigation make for a highly compelling sci-fi experience in Cloudpunk.
-
May 12, 2020In the end Cloudpunk is as long as its narrative, with little more than collectibles to find through exploration. Mostly there to present videogame elements like vehicle upgrades or trinkets to place around your small apartment. The story though is memorable, and often as dense and layered as the jutting buildings that make-up Nivalis. An aesthetic joy throughout, and a cyberpunk tale well worth delivering to your desktop.
-
May 8, 2020Crazy architecture and dilapidated neighborhoods are the backdrop to neo-noir mysteries told through well-written characters, some unforgettable, others simply characteristic.
-
Apr 29, 2020Quotation forthcoming.
-
Apr 24, 2020A very promising indie with a gameplay in which freedom, and relaxation will prevail. Encounters with very curious characters, AIs with very questionable decisions and plots of corruption and allegory of the human condition and technological escalation. An interesting game to get lost in.
-
Apr 23, 2020The story has some issues, but this vast, beautiful city is a joy to take flight in.
-
Apr 23, 2020Cloudpunk even does more than expected in its decision-making gameplay; though you’re presented with binary decisions, it’s rarely a good vs evil dilemma, with plenty of variables at play to make either option valid. It really needs to be experienced by anyone interested in cyberpunk narratives, story-driven gameplay or leisurely driving games. Even for those not interested in its themes, provided you’re open to the relaxed gameplay style, Cloudpunk will surprise you with how full of life its world is.
-
Apr 23, 2020Cloudpunk absolutely nails the cyberpunk aesthetic, but it backs up style with substance. A thoughtful and sensitive story, interesting characters, and some challenging environmental puzzles all make its attractive setting really fun to play around in, even if there are limitations.
-
Jun 22, 2020Some of Cloudpunk's ancillary gameplay elements feel underdeveloped, but the neon lights of a cruel futuristic metropolis and a collection of amazing stories will make it worth your while.
-
Jun 8, 2020Props to the small team for really doing a whole lot with a little graphically. The rain never seems to let up, and the neon glow of the noodle stands shimmer on the trash-strewn alleys, and the smoky canyons between the seemingly-endless skyscrapers adds a feeling of vastness to the city. Really though, when you get down to it, Cloudpunk seems more like a straightforward interactive novel than it does a really fleshed-out game. It takes the first part of the 'go anywhere, do anything' sandbox model and does it very well. It just doesn't really deliver on the 'do anything' part all that well.
-
May 6, 2020Cloudpunk is a beautiful cyberpunk adventure when it comes to exploring the city and knowing every little story among its neighborhoods and sky roads. It is a shame that some of its gameplay mechanics are not funny or coherent. Ultimately, the game is worth it for the lore, the characters and the story that will motivate us to play until the end.
-
May 4, 2020Cloudpunk is a morally conflicting cyberpunk experience wrapped in a grimy and glitzy aesthetic. The gameloop of exploring the world as a delivery driver and discovering everything it has to offer provided to be a unique enough angle that held my attention from beginning to end, even if the pacing felt off at times when switching between flying and walking. Those looking for an over-the-top Sci-fi adventure, Cloudpunk definitely delivers.
-
Apr 30, 2020Great voxel graphics and soundtrack make Nivalis a city worth being visited by all cyberpunk lovers. Unfortunately, gameplay and story are not on the same level.
-
Apr 27, 2020The appearance of Cloudpunk is enough to recommend it to fans who are interested in cyberpunk. There are plenty of metaphoric and philosophical stories within, but the gameplay is not that attractive.
-
Sep 12, 2020When you don't have any other games left to play you can play Cloudpunk. With great style, the developers were not able to tell an interesting story. On the other hand, we have a great option for those who want to play something against the background of show or podcast. Which is basically not bad.
-
Jun 4, 2020Like some of the narrative choices, it’s hard to know how to feel about Cloudpunk — and maybe that’s the point. It’s well-written and lovingly constructed, but it’s sometimes hard to appreciate as much as I’d like to thanks to the pacing issues. However, despite the problems, it’s definitely a journey worth taking — just go into it knowing that a little patience in some spots is required.
-
May 8, 2020Cloudpunk is a game with a single core strength so powerful it alone is sufficient to make it an easy game to recommend. Thanks to the rare beauty and rich atmosphere of its voxel-driven cityscape, Cloudpunk is a constant joy to explore. Whether soaring through the neon-plastered clouds or darting across vertiginous walkways dangling a hundred storeys in the air, the desire remains to keep pushing forward because the next view might be even better. And it usually is. It's not a straightforward case of style over substance, because in Rania and in much of the story there's no lack of substance, but it can feel that way when the style is so disproportionately stellar.
-
May 6, 2020Cloudpunk is an interesting narrative game taking place in a breathtaking futuristic city in which you zip with your flying car to make delivery, explore and advance the story. Gameplay is a bit lacking but the city graphic design makes it worth your time and money.
-
May 4, 2020Cloudpunk manages to create a great cyberpunk-y atmosphere, but is held back by some limitations. Gameplay-wise, it doesn’t have a lot to offer and the sequences in which you get out of your car are a bore. Play it for the well-told story to get the most out of it.
-
May 3, 2020Cloupunk is visually stunning and has a interesting cast, telling us some good stories. It has some issues, though, when it comes to interactions and exploration. But if you're into Cyberpunk genre, you will probably find exactly what you wanted.
-
May 28, 2020In the gameplay department, Cloudpunk simulates the boredom of a minimum wage job a little too well. Looking back, I’m happy to have played Cloudpunk, but I never want to sit through it again.
-
May 25, 2020Cloudpunk can be considered a good adventure game, but there is nothing special about it. There are a lot of missions to play but the game does not offer enough gameplay mechanisms and variations to keep the action going and as a result, the final package feels repetitive.
-
Apr 27, 2020Cloudpunk is certainly a game worth seeing, but beyond that, there's not much to back up its cyberpunk aesthetic. Flying around in your hover car is a joy, and the city is a consistently surprising visual treat, but whenever the game gets around to providing context to all of it, it stumbles. You largely get what it says on the box, but Cloudpunk would have benefited from more compelling gameplay and a more focused story. It's not that it's badly designed or horribly written, it just doesn't quite reach the clouds.
-
Apr 23, 2020An amazing looking game with an interesting premise, let down by shallow gameplay and stuttered flow of story and dialogue.
-
Jan 5, 2021As it stands, the game is too much of a flyover experience — beholden to the cyberpunk genre’s conceits and, as such, mired in an aesthetic rut.
-
LEVEL (Czech Republic)Jul 24, 2020Cloudpunk is like a neon tube. Very nice to look at, but if you look closer, it has nothing to offer and after some time it's a bit boring. [Issue#304]
-
May 20, 2020A beautiful vision of a busy cyberpunk city that doesn’t revolve around the main heroine but actually lives and breathes according to its own rules. It’s a shame that there are so many problems underneath the glorious facade - mainly a shallow story and dumb game mechanics.
-
May 1, 2020Cloudpunk is a good game… but it doesn’t do anything that we hadn’t seen before. We feel it needs a deeper focus on the gameplay, but if you’re happy just discovering this universe and its story, you can have a good time with it.
-
May 8, 2020Even with the decent visuals, this is not the Cyberpunk adventure you were hoping for, but rather some form of occupational therapy with tedious mundane and drawn out dialogue.
-
Apr 30, 2020For Cloudpunk, hardship is merely the wallpaper for a pretty yet thinly conceived gaming experience.

Apr 27, 2020Cloudpunk offers a beautiful city to explore, but unfortunately there's not much to discover there once you delve deeper.
-
Apr 27, 2020It feels unappreciative to wish that there could be even more of it, but it’s like that perfect cup of tea. You’ll always want another one.
