Bugsnax is a work of art that future generations will look back on in awh. One does not simply play Bugsnax but experiences Bugsnax and then changes as a person afterwards, you will not breathe or take a **** the same after Bugsnax. When your life flashes before you're eyes you will see Filbo at the gates of heaven waiting for you.

Weird game. It's very easy, repetitive, and awkward as an adult, yet it's also quite inappropriate for kids. Just feels like a boring game that only became popular because of memes because of its weirdness, but the game itself is not worth playing, even for free.

Amazing game. There is a snak called Daddy Cakelegs. I was surprised how good this game was and I had high expectations after hearing the theme tune from Kero Kero Bonito!

This game is incredibly charming and felt like what I’d always wished a Pokémon game would feel like! The voice acting might be my favorite thing about this game. I just wish there was an endless mode at the end of the main story because I wanted to spend more time in its world

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. holy **** I did not expect a game about bug snack hybrids to actually be this good.
First off, the characters are pretty well made. Each of them is suffering from a different issue you help solve in their sidequest chain, for example one of them is scared he isn't strong enough to protect his boyfriend and so he wants to take Bugsnax to be strong enough, and one of them is too obsessed with finding out the dirt on everybody - even if that ends up making them hate her. Each character is entirely believable and it helps that they all have really good voice acting. I have no clue how the hell this indie game managed to get such a great cast but I'm happy that it happened.

The gameplay is really simple but fun. Each Bugsnax is a mini-puzzle, usually not taking that long to figure out. One is hiding in a hole and you need to bring it out by bringing a laser pointer controlled ball into the hole. One is super cold, so you need to lure it into a campfire. One is burrowing underground, so you have to make it hit its head on something. You get an arsenal of tools that increases as the game goes on. Net, trap, hook, sauce slinger with several sauces you collect, ball, and a wire that trips Bugsnax.

The story is also surprisingly decent for a basic concept with a (SPOILERS) reveal that the Bugsnax are parasites taking over their minds in order to turn them into Bugsnax and continue ensuring nobody escapes the island. Also your employer is working for the illuminati to make sure you can't tell people about Bugsnax. The last part of the game also has you murdering Bugsnax so that's interesting.

tl;dr play Bugsnax it's a great game with a good story, great characters, fun gameplay, cute Bugsnax, and good music. The only reason this isn't a 10 is because the PC version does have some lag near the end that makes going through the hub town and looking at your journal annoying.

A really good game, worth the price. Though I wish there was more content, or maybe a sequel perhaps?

Either way I would recommend this game.

I watched Barb play this garbage at 5AM and I've never seen someone so miserable in my entire life.
    The game's been described as:
    - All you do is run errands for fukcing Bligiboblonger
    - The worse parts of Pokemon combined with terrible escort mission
    - Awful, cringy, putrid, and abysmal
    - Worse than Superman 64
That's all you need to know.

This is unironically a great game. It looks like a meme but it's genuinely well-written and fun to play. The characters in this thing are already some of my favourites I've come across and the soundtrack is bangin. Would recommend.

Catching bug snacks.. bugsnacks as the name suggests are half bugs half snacks, and once you eat them you can choose a limb that these bugs become… each character will have you running around their areas collecting different snax and feeding them to them, which is a puzzle within itself, you’ll have to bait some out, trick them into fighting each other, trip them out of the sky, it really is fun trying to figure out just how to catch the snack you’re after.. Though bugsnax doesn’t quite have the magic a game like pokemon has, I never felt the urge beyond the first couple of hours to go out and catch them all... really only capturing the ones I needed to progress the story, and usually im a sucker for collect them all type games, but im just not wure what it was, weather its due to the fact this is simply a ftch quest game or that the areas youre running around are all bare bones and not fun or intriguing to explore, you get that feeling of, eh if I need this one ill come back and get it later, rather than feeling like you found a collectable that you need to grab right this moment… which a game like this should feel… scanning these creatures in the wild will give you hints on how to catch them, and some need caught later on after you aquire a new catching aid from the story…. But bugsnax overall is a really cute and charming game, it is enjoyable from start to finish, even if it doesn’t urge you to do much outside of mainlining… This is a hidden gem definitely worth your time, especially for those into collecting games… you’ll still have fun trying to collect them all until you’re over it…
    I give Bugsnax
    an 8/10

Fairly fun, but it feels incomplete. All of the character arcs feel like they end sort of abruptly. I liked the voice acting, but I didn't like the writing much. Octodad is much better in almost every way IMO. The gameplay was more fun. The story, though sparse, was more fun in Octodad too. I'm not totally sure who the intended audience is.

I don’t even know what to write, so don't judge too harshly) Surely my review will not be very useful, but here are my thoughts:

I don't like it when people say "games are for kids". But that's it about this game, I don't know how else to say) The studio's previous game, "Octodad", was a story-driven project with fun gameplay for all ages. There, the octopus lived in the ordinary world

The studio's previous game, "Octodad", was a story-driven project with fun gameplay for all ages. There, the octopus lived in the ordinary world and pretended to be a man, and here some Teletubbies with people's problems walking and catch alive bugs, well, it seems to me that the studio took some wrong course.
Here we have a very simple first person game, where you have to walk, set traps, and catch insects according to timings, different bugs are caught in different ways, so in each new task you will have to figure out how exactly catch them. The same simple, unremarkable visual style, and plot (We are a journalist, we come to find out the stories of local eaters of live fruits). Locations are small.
But everything seems to work, the gameplay is not annoying, for children, or, if you really like this concept, you can take it, but for me, for example Slime Rancher is much more interesting and stylish, I still expect a new masterpiece from "Young Horses", older, more unique.
(By the way, this is not exactly new game, it has been on sale in Epic games for the Mac platform for more than a year).

Mac).

The Bugsnax catching is well made and even kind of addicting, but here are some negative things:

    - The story and the characters are extremely shallow - In the dialogues, you are sometimes given choices and the game pretends that it would make a difference, but in fact in doesn't make any difference what you choose I'm those dialogies. I hate that in games. - The graphics seem old. Why do

An amazing game that is very fun and cartoony until it becomes the exact opposite for a bit and then goes back to fun and cartoony. It also has one of the most insane endings I have ever seen from any video game.

You shouldn’t play with your food, but it’s necessary when dealing with the creatures of Snaktooth Island. While the creative design and catchy music are tasty side dishes, Bugsnax‘s main course of monster-catching gets a tad stale before the end.

And underlying it all, the one thing that didn't take us by surprise: the old catch-'em-all urge, as moreish as ever. Whether it's tickling your head or your heart, Bugsnax ensures they're never empty calories. [Issue#353, p.116]
