    Call of battlefield 5.

    This is no Battlefield. There is almost no vehicles and maps are very small. Its a call of duty game.

    Back to Battlefield 4 i guess...

    This game look like to be created by a people, who never were on any history lesson. This game lies with it so much. After playing it I can think the Germans never even think about starting a war, Hitler never exists, and Germans never tried to dominate whole Europe.

    Крюкорукие фемки, нет СССР, микротранзакции, сломанный насмерть геймплей и всё удовольствие за полновесный прайс. Это точно не игра про войну и точно не стоит того, чтобы её купили.

    I really hope this is on the list of worst videogames of 2018 but I'll never know because it seams Metacritic can't make a working click-through list.
    As for those that bought the game for the "realistic war feel" despite handicapped women on the frontline, I feel bad for you that now they're patching it to make everyone bulletsponges because the noobs got killed too fast.

    What an absolute **** I bought it when it was 50% off and thought I was getting my money's worth. I should have listened to the users here and not the "critics" There is absolutely no redeeming quality in this game's multiplayer. Quake 3 had 100 times better netcode in 2000 than this pile of **** in 2018. How did dice fall so low?

    I'll come back in a few months to check and see if it has improved, but I have looming doubts. This game was obviously released too early and could have used another 6 months, at least, in the "oven."     There still are a lot of people playing it, I've spent around 58 hours in the game already... 12 on Campaing and the rest on Multiplayer. This is the only multiplayer game I can get hooked into it.. I've played all BF games but I can't deny that this is perhaps not the "WORST" but the Weakest BF in franchise..    The game is not as bad as everyone says it is, and it's not as dead either.

    This game was flooded by hate specially because of it's political agenda **** and the biggest mess up that idiot EA CEO did by calling their community too uneducated to play or accept the new changes. So that should sum up the 50% reason of why this game is selling so badly and bad merchandising I guess...

    But I can tell you there's no such thing of robotic arms or prosthetics, nor black female nazis in the game.. I guess Dice / EA rethought about their decision and removed all of these in the final release.
    Yes you can still play with female soldiers, but only if you really want to, since you can customize your character now, so multiplayer is pretty fine for me and I don't mind that much.

    As for those who are looking for a more authentical historical representation of WWII forget it... you'll see no such thing in here and that is some of my biggest complaints on the game.. I guess this way of showing not so well known stories of WWII was not a good idea at all... they had everything to make the best BF game with Frostbite engine but they managed to mess it up.

    PROS -

    * Graphically amazing as always been.
    * As much as multiplayer feels like a little to COD for me... it still nice when you have those amazing multiplayer moments, with everything blowing up, planes fighting in the sky and infantry fighting on land while trying to complete the objectives. It gives the Battlefield feeling.
    * The new Grand Operations and Front Lines mode are pretty neat and intense. Although some people may not like it, I felt rewarding specially if you are playing with a balanced team.
    * DICE sure knows how to create the best sound design in a game. It feels realistic in everything from gun shots to explosions and other environmental sounds.
    * Both Character and Weapon Customization Features are pretty good and goes beyond than just changing colors like it was in BF1.
    * Very well optimized.

    CONS -

    - Unfortunately this game feels incomplete... BF1 felt more complete than this game, there's a notable lack of content here, less maps, less vehicles, less weapons, no other factions like USSR, USA and JAPAN rather than Germany and English (British). Everything just feels like it's missing something and all of that cause of Tides of War.. a new way of Dice / EA to release new content for the game in a certain period of time. Although I don't trust that kind of business practice that much.. I hope they make the best out of it.

    - The TTK is a joke.

    - The maps are not as good as in previous Battlefield Titles, the map Rotation in Multiplayer servers are bad, they just keep repeating over and over and people are getting bored with it. Twisted Steel, Rotterdam and Yellow Fields are the best ones. (My opinion).

    - No historical accuracy, which is a shame really...

    - Campaing / Singleplayer is pretty forgettable and short as hell, The only 2 Campaings that matters are (TIRAILLEUR and LAST TIGER) and when those two starts to get interesting they just end...

    - Multiplayer Server Browser is just broken.. as it always was since BF1, why don't you bring BattleLog back Dice and EA, seriously.. that was the best thing.

    - Lots of bugs and other problems that I've never seen in any other Battlefield game.. (Bad rendering, glitched animations, glitched guns and so on..

    - Doesn't feel much like WWII sometimes...

    - Tides of War feels like a way of telling you - "Yeah.. we removed the premium pass but in exchange you'll get an incomplete game so we can release the rest of the content that is already completed in our new business practice system from time to time charging you no extra for it..."

    I think that's all of my pros and cons, and as much as it hurts to see Battlefield franchise going this way, liking this game or not is something very personal and it may vary from person to person.

    Overall I don't blame DICE too much for the game being like this but EA. I had loads of fun and incredible moments in multiplayer so for me at least I can only recommend picking this game if you are going for it's Multiplayer only... anything else than that just skip it.    … Expand

What isn't bad is gameplay itself, multiplayer is great and I really enjoy both infantry and vehicle gameplay (planes not so much though, but I might spend some time learning them properly later).     This game was a lot of fun when it first came out. The gun play was fantastic and was really rewarding for aggressive and strategic play styles.     The game has a lot of bugs though. Here are some of the bugs that still exist in the game:
    - Bad netcode which causes time-to-death (TTD) sequences at 1 or 2 frames
    - Getting stuck in the environment
    - Unable to jump over ledges that are practically 1 feet high
    - Unable to launch v1 and JB rockets and have half the screen blacked out
    - Cannot adjust assignments and weapon progression while in game
    - Not preventing spawns on squad-mates that are in combat, which leads to instant spawn deaths
    - No being able to spawn on points without clicking to a different point and clicking back
    - Slow loading screens when quitting out after a match has ended

    In mid December Dice updated the game with a longer time-to-kill (TTK) value, which means a large majority of the weapons require more shots to down someone. This change practically changed the game in the worst way possible. Instead of having fun and rewarding gun play, everything now is more spongy and promotes a more defensive/camping style. Before, if you flanked a team you were rewarded with multiple kills. If you flank now, more than often, the enemy team will notice you and take you down before you can finish more than 1 kill. This just promotes squads clustering up with other squads and "zerging" to one point at a time. Also, having a longer time-to-kill doesn't help new players because in order to down someone, you need more precise shots, which is something they may lack when they first start playing the game. So new players will just find that they can't kill enemies and they still die quickly due to bad netcode and by more skilled players that can shoot with precision. Therefore, these new players will just stop playing the game due to frustration.

    A large portion of the Battlefield community has asked Dice/EA NOT to adjust the time-to-kill, but instead fix the time-to-death issue which is associated with bad netcode. Dice/EA has ignored the loyal Battlefield community and rammed the TTK change down their throats, causing an uproar in social media. EA were hoping the change would please the casual new players during the holiday season, which it does not.

    Because the game is broken now more than ever and due to the lack of respect from Dice/EA, I'm giving this game a score of 1. This game can be salvaged if EA/Dice listens to logical advice. Your core player-base and fans deserve better.    … Expand

    And for the Multiplayer: One-shot throwing knifes and killstreaks straight out of CoD and an attrition system that tries to force squadplay but only ends up being annoying and increasing the problem of one or two squads of well coordinated players dominating a match to the point where its just not fun anymore to play when you are alone.
    It just feels like DICE couldnt decide between making the game more casual and making it more hardcore, tried to do both and ended up achieving neither.
    The game is not unplayable, but Bf 3/4 and even Bf 1 are just much more enjoyable.

    And then there is the whole problem of historical revisionism, with DICE pandering to neo-feminist agendas and calling players "uneducated" for pointing out historical facts... but that has already been discussed enough.
    It just adds another reason to not spend your money on this game.

    Luckily however all of this is not really a problem since we can just continue playing Bf 3/4/1 without really missing out on anything, or get World War 3 which is both cheaper and better, or Hell Let Loose,...
    Thats the beauty of the free market, if you dont like something you can always switch to the competition.

    I do hope they get back on track with the next entry though, as it would be a real shame to see Battlefield die because of this mess...    … Expand

The worst part though, by far, is the balancing - with the new mechanics that focus on squadplay, you will be dominated by a bunch of players that actually do it. The teams are unbalanced to the point where you get landslide victories in every match, getting annihilated by snipers and better-equipped players every time. This game is as annoying as it gets, has little to offer besides laughable bugs, and is also being changed randomly by DICE, especially in terms of the recent TTK change, which nobody quite understands. To sum things up - don't buy it, let alone think about buying it.… Expand

    That's the best Battlefield game so far. Gameplay is great. Great optimization and graphic. You feel like participate in real war. Game has great maps.
    Single player content is short and nothing special, but you don't buy battlefield for single player experience.

Yo vengo jugando desde battlefield 3 (que fue el bf mas lindo de todos) y con BFV volvió a ser lo que era. La dinámica de juego esta muy rápida, han modificado el tiempo de respawneo cosa que al principio tardaba mas, y el juego estaba funcionando medio lento, ayer metieron un parche mágico, y el juego anda impecable a 60fps con una PC medianamente buena, lo dejaron perfectamente optimizado, mi set up procesador i7 4770 3,4ghz 4th generacion, 16 de ram ddr3 1333mhz, placa video Radeon rx580 8gb, y un disco solido. Paso de andarme el modo online con todas las graficas al minimo entre 35 y 50 fps, a andarme en ultra a 60fps totalmente estable y sin niguna caida de fps. Hay muchos servidores con todos los modos de juego online activos, llenos 24/7 y absolutamente sin ping. Las gráficas y jugabilidad impecables, es mas difícil que los anteriores bf pq te tirotean de todos lados, pero es cuestión de tryhardearla y empezar a conocer los mapas y las armas, y todo empieza a fluir muy lindo. Exige mucho mas el juego en equipo, y los mapas son épicos. Hay muchas misiones activables que hacen el juego mucho mas interesante, y todo el contenido del juego se puede desbloquear jugando sin tener que pagar dinero extra, y comprando el juego base vienen incluidas todas las expansiones. Gracias Battlefield por tanto!!! Me hizo tan feliz volver al BF, y nada mas ni nada menos que con la segunda guerra mundial, un juego épico y hermoso.… Expand

    3.0 is a fair score for this game. The game is 12 months away from being finished and is riddled with game breaking bugs (spawning in without any weapons, controls locking up, soft crashes etc. etc.) Game balance is also absolutely terrible, especially with vehicles.

    I'd raise the score to a 5.0 if the game was in a fixed state. It's average. Maybe revisit in 12 months. Right now the    3.0 is a fair score for this game.     13/12/18 Updating review to note that the game is now effectively ruined. Overnight, Dice made significant changes to the gunplay in order to appeal to the quote "Non-vocal Casuals", which makes the game virtually unplayable for me. SMGs feel like pea-shooters, every one I encounter feels like a bullet sponge. If I wanted fortnite, Id go play fortnite.    … Expand

    To me most of the reviews which are very low seem like people played the game for 20 mins and got steam rolled by a better team and just jumped on the bandwagon and whined about the game, which is fair enough.

    There are much worse games on the market at the moment, but this is just more of the same. It's a battlefield asset flip, no variety or challenges. If this is the first shooter you have ever played, you will enjoy it, but if you have played the other battlefield games, theres nothing new here.

    This is the most disappointed i have EVER been with a video game in my life. Not to mention the fact that EA basically committed business suicide and mocked half of the their fan base. The game feels significantly unfinished and while there are some decent high octane moments to be had in multiplayer, these moments are few and far between considering the bugs and unpolished gameplay. I have been playing Battlefield since the original 1942 on the PC and all the expansions that came with it. I forgave EA with BF4 and its crappy launch and stuck it out and enjoyed the game.     + Better gunplay, faster paced, fewer sniper-campers and solid mechanics.
    + No dlc / premium / micro transactions (unless you really want to for some reason)
    - Not a lot of content on launch, but it is getting better.

    -/+ Can select character colour and sex (for those who like to keep it historically accurate)

    I am a huge fan of the series and I've played since bf1942. I just have to say that this is the best one, even better than bfbc2 and that is to say a lot!
    This game has received a lot of unwarranted hate and I believe most 0s come from people who never actually played the game.
    I enjoy the hell out of this game!

    Great game with new mechanics improving the immersion to WW2. Hopefully we will see a good amount of extra content in the future as currently it is a bit lacking. Adding female soldiers to a WW2 game was a questionable choice though.

But I pushed that aside and signed up for Origin access to try out this game just for one month. The game is unfinished, buggy, badly designed and far from being fun. In fact, its actually painful to play this game. In fact, its actually painful to play this game. You will often find yourself angry and in disbelief as to how a studio that made BF4 and BF3, made this garbage.
    The time to death is insanely low, you will die too often within one frame without getting any time to react. The game encourages camping because its very hard to see players that don't move. No 3D spotting except for snipers with spotting scope - who rarely use them to help the team. DICE is forcing teamwork on players but most randoms don't care about teamwork or voip chat at all. Those who do will only point out the enemy who killed them so that you can seek revenge on his behalf.
    Medics don't heal and support won't supply ammo because they get very few points (10) for doing that. Medic weapons are nerf guns only good for CQC maps and the revive animation will get you killed so revives are rare. It seems DICE achieved the exact opposite of the teamwork they intended. The gunplay is good when you get the drop on the enemy player but most of the time its who sees who first.
    You get needlessly stuck on certain terrain in maps which shows that they were not properly tested. You catch on fire if you stand next to fire in certain areas as if you dunked in gasolene before the battle for some reason. You get 'killed in action' if something like a barrel next to you explodes. You get insta-killed too many times as soon as you spawn. This stuff happens just too often for the game to be any fun.
    Planes - especially bombers - were OP at launch and then got huge nerfs in the patch to point that they are now useless. Tanks have no choice but to camp far from positions where they could get insta-rekt by assault players. The attrition system has also not encouraged teamwork - instead everyone camps the supply points because they know their teammates might not support. Besides, supply points replenish ammo fully compared to a supply crate from a support player which only gives you one gadget and starts the cooldown clock.
    Zerging is the only alternative to camping in this game because of all the issues mentioned above. Its as though DICE devs never play their own games and keep coming up with new idiotic ideas. In BF1 it was behemoths and hero kits. Here it is the attrition system, removal of spotting, broken revives, smaller squads, buggy maps and terrain, useless vehicles to name a few.
    The terrible UI and server browser where you still cant see the progress of a game before joining; so you join to find the game is over and most players have left. I could go on and on about this game but DICE has a history of bad launches and eventually fixing the issues over several months. But by then the price has dropped to $10 and most serious players have moved on.
    This game is bad, really bad. If you paid full price, you have only yourself to blame, given the history of DICE and EA. I am thinking I till wait till it goes down to $5 - which is probably very soon. But then no one will be playing the game. Very disappointing. Like watching an alcoholic friend self-destruct. You hope they will reform but they never do and keep self-destructing until the tragic end which actually seems merciful somehow.    … Expand

    Weapon customization is borderline gone, its all turned into an RPG skill tree. Same goes with vehicles which have different EXP on each faction which makes leveling each one an annoying task and you get screwed if you are on the Allies but your Axis tank is all leveled up.

    I gave this game about 10 hours of my live before i removed it from my life.

Maybe you should do some research on WW2 and realize that the game you are creating is a joke. I call on all of you, DO NOT BUY THIS GAME.     Yes, as many people have pointed out, I did lie about my background in this post. Please do not upvote. This post was an attempt to put pressure on EA and raise awareness to this issue. As those familiar with the Battlefront 2 subreddit will remember, significant pressure by the subreddit resulted in an EA Rep talking with the Reddit community about microtransactions. This communication resulted in heavy backlash on EA, and allowed for the company to temporarily disable microtransactions and mitigate the pay to win elements of the game. Unlike many people here have said, I do not believe Reddit is insignificant, and I do not believe that those who want a degree of historic authenticity are an extremely small minority. I believe if enough pressure is put on DICE and EA, they will create a setting that disables customization and allows for player models that look similar to Battlefield 1 (different silhouettes for each class, somewhat proper uniforms for each faction, correct helmets). I honestly believe that no one wants to take away someone's ability to choose what gender and race their soldier is. However, I also believe that this shouldn't take away someone's ability to choose to play the most accurate representation of World War 2 that the game offers. More choice is a good thing, and to want a historically presentable viewing experience should not be seen as "uneducated."

EA controls all the servers so that they can make an extra $50, which pretty much have to be full to play. So you're either waiting in line to join or waiting for others to join. Unlike DICE's accidentally perfect Battlefield 1942, multiplayer will be unplayable within a year. The maps are very small and there is little to explore. In BF 1942, you could hide in the mountains of El Alamein or land a plane in the fields of Bocage to do repairs. Here, you're in someone's line of sight ready to take a bullet at all times. And you cannot land a plane. Or take-off. So instead of people waiting on the runway for planes to spawn, they wait outside the game in the deployment interface. But maybe that's asking a lot of a game developer who forgot to include joystick control. This game is the most anticipated foul up of 2018.… Expand

    The game itself feels like a classic battlefield. They've done some good adjustments from BF1 (I've played BF since the first when I was but a child), and I'm sure they will continually listen to feedback and do adjustments as deemed nesessary. The gameplay feels good, the graphics are great (running on a 1080gtx), the vehicles are spot on..

    As a battlefield fan and veteran, and lover of ww2 history, I give this game an 8/10. If you like BF and WW2, and have some money to spare, and an ok+ gaming pc, I'd give this a shot. If you have a **** computer, and don't have much money at the moment, I would recommend you pass (until the price drops in some months).

    I love it, the multiplayer is excellent. minor bugs will be worked out. I can't believe these reviews. all because of some inaccurate history? I am a veteran and served a combat tour in Afghanistan as 11B. I am not offended, nor disappointed in any way

    The customer support is absolutely horrendous and the representatives of EA I talked to couldn't give a rats ass about the games current state nor willing to issue refunds because of their policies that even goes directly against the Consumer Rights Act of 2015.

    They've introduced a new subscription-based model to play their latest games with pretty much everything included for a monthly/yearly fee, which sounds great on paper until they're not able to give refunds on a subscription-based model.    … Expand

BF3, BF4 and even BF1 had crazy, funny, unexpected moments every minute but that doesn't seem to happen in this game a lot. The only funny moments are usually due to weird bugs and physics fails. Bugs and lack of content aside, the gameplay here is mediocre, most guns feel like airsoft guns, there's no punch to them, the graphics are good but too cartoonish and the colours look washed out making everything look really bright in some places and way too dark in others. Even the test range is a disappointment and it's only good for flying planes, not much else.

    The game might get better after future patches like most BF games did in the past but there's something mediocre about the gameplay that will be hard to fix.

    I bought Call of duty black ops 4 and played it a bit , the game was super fun and i loved it , then 2 weeks later i bought battlefield 5 ... ever since i bought bf5 i couldnt stop playing it , i completely forgot about black ops 4. bf5 is such an amazing game , i been hooked on it since day one , been 2 weeks now since i have it and i already have 90h spent into the game, its the bestI bought Call of duty black ops 4 and played it a bit , the game was super fun and i loved it , then 2 weeks later i bought battlefield 5 ... ever since i bought bf5 i couldnt stop playing it , i completely forgot about black ops 4. bf5 is such an amazing game , i been hooked on it since day one , been 2 weeks now since i have it and i already have 90h spent into the game, its the best game i ever played in my life , every game its like a dose of heroine and i want more and more and moooore. Yeah there are a few bugs but they mostly got fixed with the dec5 patch , now its a smooth experience. i GIVE THIS GAME A 10/10 , ITS AMAZING.

    Now that we have that out of the way, on to the review.

    BF V is on balance a very solid, well polished, well executed and fun game that does suffer from the occasional glitch but nothing that ruins the game. It loses a point for those glitches.
    Graphically glorious, it's quite resource intensive - even on higher spec machines, it's taxing on the CPU (my 6600K at 4.3 ghz is running 100% on all cores, to feed the 1080ti at 2560×1440 but it does achieve a very nice 60-144fps) .

    The gameplay is the most enjoyable BF experience I've had by far - I never enjoyed the old BF1 multiplayer. In BF V, it's brilliant fun. Playing tactically pays off.

    Just got around to playing this after finally "completing" the playstation version.
    Suffice to say, its significantly better, but still a terrible battlefield game. It plays more like COD and the story is made up garbage and is as much a true story as the Blair witch project.
    I've lost my chance to get a refund, I hope you don't as well.

    Battlefield, unlike its competitor Call of Duty, has always been different is the reliability and realism, and now we are presented with a toy shooter with painted characters. Sucked out of the finger conveyor nonsense that has nothing to do with world War II. And there is a assumption that after the release of Battlefield 5 fans of the franchise sharply diminished.

    Yes, i like to play male ww-soldiers, so i do. Some weapons are nice with other skins, others i like to play pure - yes you CAN! And who tell you that BF was, is or would ever be a game wants to tell you the real history of world wars? It's a GAME that uses different settings to create "good" immersions while having fun playing and tactical teamplay.

    I think BFV is excatly what it wants to be, without really big disappointments. Maybe you could say something about the single player (definitely 2 points deduction in the B grade), but come on... Please grab the first stone, if you buy BF because single player is the interesting part of the game.
    So now we have an real good BF from the start, with minor Bugs that should be solved (that's called patching - just sayin).

    I have played the early BFs till Bad Company 2, after this one the next BF catched me was BF1, because i liked the setting, but the bad game mechanics made it a runaway.

    After actual playtime in BFV till now, i like the additions of the old and the new BF-times, to get current game mechanics, graphics und gameplay in this good old setting. Good squad plays, a smart understanding of the playmodes, new game mechanics and dependencies of support (like tanks infantry) is the key to master.
    And this is why BFV is not a Call of Duty! Most people who die the fast way, think it's fast and casual and they have to play like that - you don't!

    Final words: Learn how to play smart and it would be awesome (even without good squadmembers, you could be the one!). BFV sets a good new standard and in my opinion it's well balanced (patches will come, and i hope they get the wright fixes). Some negative reviews are full of wrong "facts", which makes me sad and tired of correcting them. So I hope that the true reviews of Battlefield V will be available on the userside soon, because right now it's a joke.

Though I do really really hope they do add hardcore support. Which they kind of did for BF1 after launch. Here's hoping for something better.

    But I have to say, as a hardcore battlefield player the game feels much more toward that side. 3D spotting takes longer. I really like the new spotting mechanic, which doesnt automatically spot the enemy, bet lets your squad mates know the area you say an enemy. Also health doesn't always regen, you start with 1 health pack and can pick up more. For those new to the franchise, hardcore mode is with friendly fire turned on, mini-map off, enemy tags disabled, you don't automatically regen health, and bullet damage turned way up. I feel like they found solid middle-ground between the casual and hardcore player. Well done DICE, that's not an easy accomplishment.

    The map design is REALLY well done, so far I think some of the best of the series. they are really interactive and each match feels like it evolves a bit differently. Unlike some of the previous games (like BF4's metro map)

    My biggest complaint is with the UI, I find it way more confusing and less straight forward than any other battlefield game. Not sure what they were going for with this. It seems more difficult than it should be to track progression and unlocks.

    And of course, the audio design is unrivaled. Battlefield games have the best audio, and this one is no different. Although, I feel like perhaps BF1's is slightly better.

    The game is way more polished than a lot of the other reviews would have you believe. And it's only going to get better, as with every battlefield game (save for maybe Hardline).

    Also, as an added bonus, if you buy this game, you can say F--- YOU to immature misogynists! Win-win!    … Expand

Vehicles (other than arial bombers) are rare to see in the match, and are limited in number to the point of being useless, or occasional squad call ins that almost everyone ignores in order to use the V2 rocket.

    The multiplayer modes are riddled with bugs such as the never-ending round, or infinite load screen bugs, and a map rotation that seems to favor 3 or 4 maps, not to mention a troubled net code that has issues registering hits and also gives the feeling that while you can unload a magazine of ammunition into someone and they survive, they in turn can hit you twice and kill you. The maps themselves also have issues. On every map I played I was able to find areas that would allow me to fall under the map where a less honest player would be able to rack up kills in complete safety. These areas on the 2 beta maps (Narvik and Rotterdam) were reported to DICE and they still existed at release. SInce release the places in the other 6 maps have been reported, but with the first wave of bugfixes and updates being delayed, who knows when they will be fixed.    … Expand

    It’s far from being ideal but all the glitches and shortcomings don’t ruin the overall fun of Battlefield V’s multiplayer experience. Although the single player portion of the game is not bad at all, I would have been disappointed if I bought the game just for it. [13/2018, p.56]

    In Battlefield V we got back to WW2, but with refined gunplay and death system which works great. There are also little problems such as low number of maps and stability issues, that are taking the fun away, but nothing that can't be fixed.

    A great World War II shooter that will grow and improve. Do not buy the game because of its singleplayer, but if you consider the campaign a bonus to the multiplayer, you will be satisfied. [Issue#291]
