    I Can't even describe my frustration about BF V... the last battlefield I played was te 4 and I had such a good time rollin on my tank with friends playing tactically, the impression we were in a real battlefield.

    This game doesn't even deserve 1/100, it contains everything we hate in the FPS genre, people compare it to COD actually the last one is a lot better than this.     Planes are broken and can pretty much kill the whole team at the beginning of a game, medics are doomed to play with smg's like wtf dice. Maps are terrible and the WORST part of this game if we can call it a game are the respawns !!! JESUS you can literally respawn on your friends 4 seconds after you died on the exact same spot !!! WHAT THE HELL HAVE YOU BEEN SMOKIN DICE ? This make the pace of the games horrible as people respawn from everywhere, you take a point the ennemy team respawns behind you but it's ok you can respawn instantly on your squad and so they can like...

    I would give this game a 4-score rating for the beautiful graphics, great gun-play, free dlc and toning down on the SJW stuff at the last second. But due to the horrible customer support and launching of this unfinished game with live service is just downright taking a piss on its customers. As of right now, about 1 month after the release (out of its 3-4    Don't buy this game.

    As of right now, about 1 month after the release (out of its 3-4 different release dates, wtf?), the game is in an unplayable state at best with hundreds of game-breaking glitches. Even after an 18 GB patch just the other day, not much was really fixed, but instead added yet more glitches.

    The customer support is absolutely horrendous and the representatives of EA I talked to couldn't give a rats ass about the games current state nor willing to issue refunds because of their policies that even goes directly against the Consumer Rights Act of 2015.

    They've introduced a new subscription-based model to play their latest games with pretty much everything included for a monthly/yearly fee, which sounds great on paper until they're not able to give refunds on a subscription-based model.    … Expand

But I pushed that aside and signed up for Origin access to try out this game just for one month. The game is unfinished, buggy, badly designed and far from being fun. In fact, its actually painful to play this game. In fact, its actually painful to play this game. You will often find yourself angry and in disbelief as to how a studio that made BF4 and BF3, made this garbage.
    The time to death is insanely low, you will die too often within one frame without getting any time to react. The game encourages camping because its very hard to see players that don't move. No 3D spotting except for snipers with spotting scope - who rarely use them to help the team. DICE is forcing teamwork on players but most randoms don't care about teamwork or voip chat at all. Those who do will only point out the enemy who killed them so that you can seek revenge on his behalf.
    Medics don't heal and support won't supply ammo because they get very few points (10) for doing that. Medic weapons are nerf guns only good for CQC maps and the revive animation will get you killed so revives are rare. It seems DICE achieved the exact opposite of the teamwork they intended. The gunplay is good when you get the drop on the enemy player but most of the time its who sees who first.
    You get needlessly stuck on certain terrain in maps which shows that they were not properly tested. You catch on fire if you stand next to fire in certain areas as if you dunked in gasolene before the battle for some reason. You get 'killed in action' if something like a barrel next to you explodes. You get insta-killed too many times as soon as you spawn. This stuff happens just too often for the game to be any fun.
    Planes - especially bombers - were OP at launch and then got huge nerfs in the patch to point that they are now useless. Tanks have no choice but to camp far from positions where they could get insta-rekt by assault players. The attrition system has also not encouraged teamwork - instead everyone camps the supply points because they know their teammates might not support. Besides, supply points replenish ammo fully compared to a supply crate from a support player which only gives you one gadget and starts the cooldown clock.
    Zerging is the only alternative to camping in this game because of all the issues mentioned above. Its as though DICE devs never play their own games and keep coming up with new idiotic ideas. In BF1 it was behemoths and hero kits. Here it is the attrition system, removal of spotting, broken revives, smaller squads, buggy maps and terrain, useless vehicles to name a few.
    The terrible UI and server browser where you still cant see the progress of a game before joining; so you join to find the game is over and most players have left. I could go on and on about this game but DICE has a history of bad launches and eventually fixing the issues over several months. But by then the price has dropped to $10 and most serious players have moved on.
    This game is bad, really bad. If you paid full price, you have only yourself to blame, given the history of DICE and EA. I am thinking I till wait till it goes down to $5 - which is probably very soon. But then no one will be playing the game. Very disappointing. Like watching an alcoholic friend self-destruct. You hope they will reform but they never do and keep self-destructing until the tragic end which actually seems merciful somehow.    … Expand

    Was expecting another bf1 hit, got call of duty. There is no distinguishable difference between the 3 other classes that aren't the sniper class. All automatic rifles, all run and gun, all can revive, all have at weapons. Can't change weapon attachments mid game. Each class has 4 weapons. ever. looks ok but you'll stop playing before completing a single game due to lack of content.Was expecting another bf1 hit, got call of duty.     Don't give EA your money, unless you're fine with them insulting you, and still expecting you to give them money.

I majored in Economics at UCLA with a minor in German Studies, with a heavy focus on the Second World War. To call me “uneducated” because I want a reasonablly authentic game is completely uncalled for. Women DID NOT serve for the Wehrmacht or the Waffen SS. I am by no means a sexist, but anyI have played Battlefield since BF1942, and I have studied World War 2 since I was 5 years old. To call me “uneducated” because I want a reasonablly authentic game is completely uncalled for. Women DID NOT serve for the Wehrmacht or the Waffen SS. I am by no means a sexist, but any quick search online of female roles during the Third Reich will reveal that Hitler’s ambition for women was to reproduce as many children as possible, in order to create more “Aryan” people and keep the German military full of new soldiers. Having women on the frontlines was the LAST thing that Hitler and the Nazis wanted. You know what Patrick, maybe YOU are uneducated. Maybe you should do some research on WW2 and realize that the game you are creating is a joke. I call on all of you, DO NOT BUY THIS GAME. We as a community should not be subjected to comments from EA degrading us as uneducated bigots, simply for wanting a game that feels like a World War 2 shooter. Disgusted.

    Yes, as many people have pointed out, I did lie about my background in this post. Please do not upvote. This post was an attempt to put pressure on EA and raise awareness to this issue. As those familiar with the Battlefront 2 subreddit will remember, significant pressure by the subreddit resulted in an EA Rep talking with the Reddit community about microtransactions. This communication resulted in heavy backlash on EA, and allowed for the company to temporarily disable microtransactions and mitigate the pay to win elements of the game. Unlike many people here have said, I do not believe Reddit is insignificant, and I do not believe that those who want a degree of historic authenticity are an extremely small minority. I believe if enough pressure is put on DICE and EA, they will create a setting that disables customization and allows for player models that look similar to Battlefield 1 (different silhouettes for each class, somewhat proper uniforms for each faction, correct helmets). I honestly believe that no one wants to take away someone's ability to choose what gender and race their soldier is. However, I also believe that this shouldn't take away someone's ability to choose to play the most accurate representation of World War 2 that the game offers. More choice is a good thing, and to want a historically presentable viewing experience should not be seen as "uneducated."

First off I started with the campaign as I wanted to get a feel for the game and on hearing that I was going to be sabotaging heavy water production at the Norse Hydro plant in Telemark I was very pleased; however, this pleasure quickly evaporated as I soon realised that DICE had completelyAwful and cringeworthy are just some of the things that come to mind when playing Battlefield V. First off I started with the campaign as I wanted to get a feel for the game and on hearing that I was going to be sabotaging heavy water production at the Norse Hydro plant in Telemark I was very pleased; however, this pleasure quickly evaporated as I soon realised that DICE had completely rewritten history - I knew they said it wasn't going to be completely historically accurate but come on, completely changing the story! It's sad as the commander of Operation Gunnerside, Joachim Ronneberg sadly died last month. What a legacy DICE has left for this man and the other commandos that many young people will now think a Norwegian mother and daughter actually helped stop Hitler from creating an atomic bomb.

    Well after this I gave up on the single player and went to the multiplayer and things didn't get much better, it seems women fought on the front line on the western front, which is complete bollocks! Don't get me wrong, women played a huge role in the war especially in espionage, partisan actions, code breaking, the production of planes, tanks and munitions etc. but get it right! Every time I hear some cockney woman scream down the radio I can't help but cringe. It's not that I'm against women being in this game but if they wanted women in it then why the hell didn't they do an Eastern Front game where there were actually women front line soldiers.

    Anyway to sum up, this game is pretty much a cut and paste of Battlefield 1, my face has wrinkles from frowning and gets real boring after a few hours. I gave it 1 out of 10 because the graphics are at least nice.    … Expand

    This is the most disappointed i have EVER been with a video game in my life. Not to mention the fact that EA basically committed business suicide and mocked half of the their fan base. The game feels significantly unfinished and while there are some decent high octane moments to be had in multiplayer, these moments are few and far between considering the bugs and unpolished gameplay. I have been playing Battlefield since the original 1942 on the PC and all the expansions that came with it. I forgave EA with BF4 and its crappy launch and stuck it out and enjoyed the game. I thoroughly enjoyed the change of setting in BF1 but this to me is the end of what was once a great and respected franchise. EA should be ashamed at what they have done.… Expand

BF1 was a head-scratcher, mostly dissapointing especially after I paid $120 for BF1 pre-release ultimate, I played the demo for BF V and uninstalled it within a half hour. BF1 + BFV feel like console ports on the PC. They've really killed the franchise - although I'm sure they areI've played the Battlefield series religiously since BF1942.     Single shot riles are massively under powered. For example: You can shoot an enemy with a bolt action rifle 3 times in the chest and not kill them. I've had similar situations with head shots.

    Scopes light you up like a Christmas Tree. The moment you look down your sight, every person facing your direction can see you a mile away. Totally defeats the point of stealth.

    Grenades do nothing. You might as well be throwing pineapples.

    Lots of aspects of the game are still unfinished.

    Painting your weapon... just why? Stupid idea.

    Variations of the same game.
    There is no rhyme nor reason to the various of Capture the Flag on offer in the multiplayer. It's the same idea dressed up slightly differently. Yawn

First if you just want to play for fun then its somewhat ok but if you like accuracy then don't get this, the graphics are very beautiful and more refined from Battlefield 1, an even though I'm into WW2 history, I do know this is a game and some things may beI will be simple I like history of WW2 and I have studied all I can about it for 5 years, and don't take my name like I'm a child. First if you just want to play for fun then its somewhat ok but if you like accuracy then don't get this, the graphics are very beautiful and more refined from Battlefield 1, an even though I'm into WW2 history, I do know this is a game and some things may be off but this takes this to far, in one word this is not WW2, I know a game is for fun but for you people who enjoy historic accuracy, it will throw you off, I can understand the French Resistance, somewhat Russians, etc have women (not that many women tho) but this just shoves it in your face. I don't hate women and I don't mind them being int the game but this makes me pissed how non accurate and shoved in this is, permanently in every tank there is a women for now cuz I just sold my game to someone and don't know about the update yet, this has come to the point I found Cod WW2 a game I disliked became better, I'm not a Nazi, yet they mention a swastika and don't show it, either don't mention it like CoD or show the accuracy.

    Now to the Gameplay I've been bothered by LOTS of bugs and some parts of gameplay are **** , Single player feels more free choice on one only but basically all are terrible, this is too much much of a generic large battle shooter.

Unlike DICE's accidentally perfect Battlefield 1942, multiplayer will be unplayable within a year. The maps are very small and there is little to explore. In BF 1942, you could hide in the mountains of El Alamein or land a plane in the fields of Bocage to do repairs. Here, you're in someone's line of sight ready to take a bullet at all times. And you cannot land a plane. Or take-off. So instead of people waiting on the runway for planes to spawn, they wait outside the game in the deployment interface.     Weapon customization is borderline gone, its all turned into an RPG skill tree. Same goes with vehicles which have different EXP on each faction which makes leveling each one an annoying task and you get screwed if you are on the Allies but your Axis tank is all leveled up.

    I gave this game about 10 hours of my live before i removed it from my life.

    I'd raise the score to a 5.0 if the game was in a fixed state. It's average. Maybe revisit in 12 months. Right now the    3.0 is a fair score for this game.     The sound design is awful, like Quake 2 era bad. No satisfying reports, no sound of booming in the distance, no rumble of tanks in the distance. If a car is over the hill you'll never know because its engine doesn't make noise until you're standing next to it.

    Everything is washed out and overexposed. It feels like your soldier has eye damage.

    The menus are annoying and uncommunicative, and things are often buried several clicks deep, even simple things like changing your gun. Squad change is still hidden in the escape menu, and loadout change requires a click to another screen when you die.

    Managing your inventory is even more annoying and unintuitive than BF1. Changing sites on a gun requires many clicks, and the default sites are not good. The default guns are also basically crap (again, unless you're a sniper, the class this game was made to feed). Your starting loadout will leave you massively disadvantaged against established players.

    This game feels designed to make the majority of players feed fun to a small but vocal minority of players, split between campers and COD twitch tweakers.

    I would not recommend this game to anyone, and am only glad that I got it for 50% off. This will be the last EA game I buy. It's sad, but the Battlefield series is dead.

    Please note that the petulant gripes from crybabies about "historical accuracy" or "sjws" or whatever are nonsense. Magic syringe shots that cure bullet wounds aren't historically accurate and those idiots never complained about that, they're just insecure sexists. While BF 1 put me in the year 1914, this could take part at any time of modern history, the lack of a "WW2-feeling" is present at any time, I feel like I'm in some sort of CoD alternative WW2 dimension. Every magazine rating this crap higher than 70 is corrupt, nothing else to say here, just do not believe any of their fake reviews. After 1 year of release the game doesnt even contain the Soviet Union and they call it a World War 2 game and gaming-magazines rate it 85/100, i mean really?
    Waste of time, waste of money, gonna stick to BF1. 1/10 from me for the graphics.

    Edit: its 04/2020 and they canceled "support" after adding only 2 more fractions. The game is still unfinished and will be unfinished, big time betrayal.     -War Stories (campaign) is still absolute garbage. Bad AI, bland missions, bad writing, just plain boring.

    -Combined Arms- possible one of the laziest game modes ever concocted by a AAA studio. basically coop missions with none of the good things from singleplayer and all of the bad things instead.

    -Firestorm- hit or miss for Battlefield fans. Very basic Battle Royal with vehicles. Low player count makes finding matches a pain and makes it absolutely impossible for players in Oceana/Australia. Despite a lot of the player base preferring Duos over squads and solo, DICE decided to remove Duos.

    -Multiplayer Game Modes- Conquest and Breakthrough are the only game modes worth a damn right now. BFV used to have other popular game modes like Frontlines, Grind, and Fortress, but they removed those as well. Grand Operations are not very "Grand" and feel more like a grab-bag match of different game modes where the outcome of previous round bears almost no impact on the upcoming round. Team Deathmatch is currently still present, but there is nothing special there either. Still no hardcore mode.

    -Maps- Out of the 8 launch maps, only 4 are fun to play. Several maps are not balanced for Conquest, so one team will have a much easier time capping and holding onto several of the flags. I can tell they tried to move away from the large sprawling battle META of previous Battlefields, for a much smaller and frenetic infantry based maps with vehicles added as more of an afterthought. The only map that seems to capture the Battlefield feeling of old is "Panzerstorm" (which coincidentally a lot of the brand new and casual run-and-gun FPS players hate).

    -Updates- piss poor amount of content for a major AAA "live service" title. Only games that are doing worse are Anthem and Fallout 76, and that's a low bar. 6 months in we have only 1 new map, a handful of new weapons, and skins (most of which are only purchasable with real money).

    -Cosmetics- laughable at best. Weapon camos are awful, Soldier cosmetics(that you can buy with CC) are dull and wildly inaccurate. Most of the new skins are purchasable only with Boins (premium currency). The person in charge of designing them must have a hard on for the absurd, because the elite skins are pretty awful and hearken to some Liberace WW2 steampunk fever dream. Company Coin has lost most of its use after the release of BOINS, due to this, the game economy is starting to skew towards premium currency. Also what's with all the goggles???

    -Balancing- Team balancer is MIA or just plain doesn't work. Dice is constantly nerfing weapons and vehicles until they're utterly useless or buffing them until that's all anybody uses. Game meta is trash and is more akin to Call of Duty than Battlefield. Anti-cheat is pretty bad too. Cheating is very rampant in Firestorm and VERY prevalent on Asia servers.

    -Bugs and performance issues are a constant problem. Whenever one bug is fixed, 2 more usually take its place. The game is also very poorly optimized. Don't expect 60 fps unless you have a monster rig or mess with a lot of the graphics settings.

    VERDICT: save your money. This game is obviously a cash grab. Incomplete at launch with promises of future content, BFV seems to be losing more than it's gaining. Play BF1 or BF4 if you want to have fun.    … Expand

One simply does not mess with the essence and facts of WW2. They even included Marx portraits ingame. The DICE developers should get a serious treatment before its too late for them.

    There are much worse games on the market at the moment, but this is just more of the same. It's a battlefield asset flip, no variety or challenges. If this is the first shooter you have ever played, you will enjoy it, but if you have played the other battlefield games, theres nothing new here.

    Played on highest end PC in September 2020 and it still has horrible bugs. cutscenes jump oddly, I get stuck in maps often, weird bugs of NOCS and this is just the campaign!!! Throw in the new shiny BLM load screen and meh. I really wanted to like this game but it’s a hot mess with terrible QC

    2) buy it on really HUGE sale, like 70-80% one, and when it's polished and done

    Faction based guns, old school weapons, vehicles that can't be taken on very easily by foot soldiers. Recycled maps and no real anti-cheat system equal another epic EA game failure.     I pre buy a $90 game for every dlc and some bonus objects. They add "Elite Skins" and the cheapest is $5.

    I was so bored it actually felt like my ability for my brain to brain was leaving. I was playing with friends or I would have quit after the aforementioned 10 minutes. I resorted to just driving around in a car and trying to run people over because the actual gun-shooting gameplay in this is severely boring. I actually had fun doing that, but of course the game is based around the boring gunplay so I obviously wasn't effective at all.

    It also has the same stupid level-up system that has infected so many FPSs recently. It's stupid. You are useless for the first part of your multiplayer experience until you grind a lot. That's ungodly awfully boring and amazingly stupid gameplay design. It was a stupid mechanic when Call of Duty first did it, and it is stupid now. Game devs need to make that mechanic a forgotten relic of the past and quickly.

    I eventually just opened manga on my other monitor and read it to keep from falling asleep while playing this with friends. It was that boring. I literally had more fun staying dead and just watching my friends play than I did trying to play it myself. Honestly, when I log into Discord to play with them and see that they are playing this game, I might just log right out. This game is THAT boring.

    In summary, I got this game for free yet I still feel like I spent too much on it. I'd pay maybe $5 for it because that feels like the amount of depth present in this game.

    Got it just to test raytracing on RTX 2060. It's lagging. I couldn't even run without sudden stutters some times. Ok. Turned off raytracing. Fps still drops sometimes. Pretty unplayable. Do not recommend to anyone for every single reason.

    A word war two that doesnt even feel that way , the game is boring and repetitve , maps are beautifull but they are poorley designed and get bland after some time . One of the worst battlefield games released , had more fun in hardline lol . Gameplay wise its just a reskin of battlefield 1 they didnt even change some of the icons lol .

    tbh I spent more than 1000 hours on each BF title since BFBC2 and this thing is completely garbage

    Battlefield vetran here. Played every title religiously. put over 350 hours into BFV so I've given this turd a chance to be updated. BFV is not only the worst of the series but it might be up there with the worst games of all time. Map design and spawn locations are awful. TTK is laughable. Sound design is straight up garbage. The censorship makes me want to abandon DICE and EA altogether. They dropped a deuce on their core fan-base.… Expand

    It is totally boring. Still the same boring mission and it is rape of history. But what can I expect from DICE/EA game. It was wasting of my money.

    It’s far from being ideal but all the glitches and shortcomings don’t ruin the overall fun of Battlefield V’s multiplayer experience. Although the single player portion of the game is not bad at all, I would have been disappointed if I bought the game just for it. [13/2018, p.56]

    In Battlefield V we got back to WW2, but with refined gunplay and death system which works great. There are also little problems such as low number of maps and stability issues, that are taking the fun away, but nothing that can't be fixed.

    A great World War II shooter that will grow and improve. Do not buy the game because of its singleplayer, but if you consider the campaign a bonus to the multiplayer, you will be satisfied. [Issue#291]
