    Game developers should show at least some respect to a consumer. How can one make a game that lags THAT MUCH with any setup - even on 640x480... Most epic fail I have seen so far.

    AVOID THIS GAME LIKE THE PLAGUE! Poorly optimized, 30 fps cap? really? What a sh*tty excuse for a AAA game. Even the PS4 version looks better than this garbage of a port. Get your sh*t together please. :)

The slow frame rate occurs even if you have the latest graphics card drivers and above the minimum system requirements. It plays like the PC just can't handle the game. I managed to get through the beginning intro of the story and it was interesting. But when Batman glides, ti's incredibly slow. If you turn your gaze, the clear graphics become a bleary mess. Today there have been a few minor patches released. That has not improved the playing experience, at least not for me. Now I can't even play the game and it crashes. I am seriously annoyed. If i had a PS4 I would get a refund and buy it for that instead. But I don't so I'm hoping they fix it. I want the awesome game I was anticipating!… Expand

    Glad I got this for free. Despite exceeding the updated minimum requirements, this game runs terribly on my machine, even when I have all of the settings on low. This was obviously rushed out the door without any optimization. The quality of this game is overall very poor.

    Seriously Assassins Creed Unity ran better on Launch for me on a single 970 than this game does on 2.......... Also I have horrible flickering, constant sub 30 fps on any settings, textures are bugged and low quality, also a horrid grainy filter over my game that i dont see on any trailers or videos, I can play    This is the worst PC port I have ever seen, I can't even understand why?????

    Secondly the frame rate. The game is based off the recent unreal engine and runs like crysis 4 on a blender regardless of the settings. Something is seriously amiss with the engine and even users that have the best rigs money can buy are reporting stuttering, frame rate drops, and horrible performance. I can barely average 20 FPS with a 5.0ghz CPU and a gtx 780 with 16 gigs of ram. This is WITH Nvidias recent drivers.

    Lastly the gameplay. It's hard to tell if this game is a masterpiece or a dud because the suttering and crashing problems reduce it to some kind of frustrating slide show. I think there may be genius in the title but I would STRONGLY recommend against purchasing this game before rocksteady a) publicly apologizes and b) releases at least 2-3 patches.

    Sadly I bought off GMG instead of steam or I would have already joined the thousands of overs seeking refunds.

    Scored at 0 for being literally unplayable in its RELEASE state, and those of you defending this company by saying "this is the new standard" can go get dicked because that attitude is EXACTLY why game companies feel they can get away with this kind of practice.    … Expand

I tried raising the maximum frame rate to 60 fps using the ini file, but this only causes more severe stuttering especially when you're driving the batmobile.     this port is just sheer chaos. 30 fps cap, horrific optimization, and frequent glitches are just a few of the monstrosities that await. watching a cat give birth to a hammer would be more productive than attempting to run this unholy catastrophe.

    One of the worst launches/release in the video gaming history. 4770k - 780 ti - ssd's raid 0 - 16gb corsair 2400mhz and frame drops down to 15 fps. Not to mention that u have to download AGAIN the whole damn game even with the retail version. Box came with 5DVD's and the steelbook has place only for one.     Rocksteady, Iron Galaxy and Warner Brothers deserve all the harsh criticism they are receiving. This port is a complete and utter piece of trash. Had I not received this game with my 980Ti, I would of gotten a refund from Steam. As it stands, it was not worth the bandwidth to download this game in its current state. It's unplayable, even on my 980Ti.

    Iron Galaxy Studios, a small 12-person team known for their console work did this port. 12 idiots with no clue how to properly port a game. Butt ugly low textures need 2 GB of vram and its takes 3 GB to use normal textures which are not very good looking at all and will eat up nearly 4 GB of vram after a while even at 1080.     Yes its disappointment of the year so far for me. I have this game for free - bonus for buying GTX 970 and this is only good new in this review. I have i5-4490 GTX 970 8 GB RAM and on this configuration Witcher 3 is flying on Ultra and this sh.... is so slowwww, freezes 0,5 - 3 seconds are very often, fraps are decreasing even when I do nothing, its crashing every time i try to quitYes its disappointment of the year so far for me.     The fact that this game is missing key features that the less powerful PS4 version and that the game has terrible performance and is locked at 30fps is a clear sign that Rocksteady doesn't care about the PC version. I will definitely not be buying it or any future Warner Bros games.

Why do we need paper , wet hat , scattering droplets , smoke from the barrel of the machine , etc. Why not just make a game designed for a wide audience on the possibilities of iron ? I have no titanium , and many do not. I do not have 24 RAM , and many do not have . By the way , the same goes for the new Witcher fairly high settings , or"Unity" 2? I hope they fix that fast as possible.     I had to refund the PC version and get PS4 version because of it.

    Specs upped at the last minute, while they don't affect me I can see no reason why this is necessary as you can't even select anything beyond 'Normal' textures in the graphics options.

    Poor AMD owners, again short changed with reported performance problems on release.

    Combat is simply a case of mashing the left mouse button while Batman flies around a 20-30m radius dishing out the weakest feeling punches 90% of the time with the occasional press of the space bar to dodge a charging enemy. Even with 7-8 enemies all carrying guns not one thought to fire at me. Next gen indeed!

    Batmobile sections are terrible, it's handling is awful and the stutters to game play are annoying.

    I am unable to change the mouse sensitivity in the menu at all, it's far too sensitive to my tastes right now.

    I really can't recommend this game right now, even getting it for free it's yet another sub standard release, what looks to be a direct port from consoles with nothing extra for the PC gamer, except the performance issues.

    Why why why are we missing ambient occlusion and rain textures that the console versions have?!

    Originally I said to wait for patching or a Steam sale where this might be a price more befitting of it's caliber but now, after seeing more of the truth come to light, like the fact this was farmed out to a company to port to PC who usually make crap mobile games & the DRM, I don't feel buying this game helps us as the end user in gaming one bit. boycotting rubbish like this is the best we can do to stop it happening again in the future.    … Expand

    I have used metacritic for many years now to help gauge reception for new releases, as well as the state of a new release at launch. Over the years there has obviously been a number of controversial instances of certain games being absolutely slammed at launch by users. While I have certainly been disappointed by the state of certain games at launch, Batman: Arkham Knight has seemingly set a new precedence for poor quality control. WB Games and Rocksteady haven't just lowered the bar, they've essentially set it into free fall. As a result I finally felt the need to sign up to metacritic to put my opinion out as well.

    The alarm bells began ringing when on the night before release, the minimum system requirements were updated for AMD users. Fortunately beign an Nvidia user this did not affect me, though I was already questioning what would happen with AMD users that had preordered the game and had initially met the minimum requirements but did not meet these updated requirements. This was already a totally unacceptable step on the part of Rocksteady/Warner Bros.

    Despite the strong criticism the game was already receiving, I decided not to judge until I had played it myself. While my PC didn't quite meet all of the recommended requirements, I more than passed the minimum requirements and had been able to run both The Witcher 3 and GTA V at high settings with an average FPS over 30. As a result, hearing that the game was capped at 30FPS did not concern me greatly, but when I learned there was no proper method of removing this cap without editing the game files, I again was amazed at the lack of consideration that had gone into making this port.

    Due to the storage requirements for the game I left the Steam download running while at work, and on two occasions I came back to find that upon completion, the download had just restarted itself. I am not sure whether this particular point can be blamed on Rocksteady or Steam, but in 10 years of using Steam as a platform I have never encountered this issue before.

    Having finally managed to start the game I immediately adjusted my settings to match those recommended for computers only meeting the minimum requirements. I was a little surprised to find that on the lowest settings and with all gameworks options disabled, I was still only averaging just over 30FPS with notable stuttering issues and seemingly random drops in framerate. On a whim I changed all the settings to their highest and restarted the game only to find that my average FPS only dropped but 3 or 4, with all the previous issues still present.

    At this point the game is PROBABLY in a playable state, but not the kind of state a AAA game that has already been delayed by 8 months should be in. In all honesty these optimization issues make the game feel more like it is still in development and the experience is not wholly different to an Early-Access game on Steam. Graphically the game is less impressive than other games released in 2015, and even with its own optimization issues, the vastly bigger Witcher 3 still outperforms Arkham Knight by leagues.

    I cannot fathom how a product with such a large budget and reasonably long development time could be released in such a state on one of only three platforms. It has now been confirmed that Rocksteady outsourced the development of the PC version to Iron Galaxy, the same studio behind the similarly problematic launch of the PC version of Arkham Origins. While I can understand the need for outsourcing, I do not understand how such a poorly polished product could ever have passed QA and testing.

    There appears to be a worrying precedence now to release poorly optimized, borderline unfinished PC ports. While a delay in the PC release would have been irritating, I cannot fathom the fallout being anywhere near as bad as what has occurred at this point. I can understand the difficulty in making a game run well across the huge range of PC hardware out there, but to sell this as a finished product is truly unacceptable. It's about time developers began to take PC more seriously as a platform, or just stop developing multiplatform titles for PC altogether if the release version does not come close to matching the console counterparts.    … Expand

    Game keep crashing at the start and I have not been able to play it. At the start of when cop walks in to the dinner game crash with the following error.
    I have tried everything I can thing. Verified the game data is fine via steam. All my drivers are up to date. disabled steam overlay and cant think of anything else.

    Seventh - The texture quality is better on the consoles than the PC version.

    What's really egregious about this is that Rocksteady didn't even develop the PC version. They outsourced it to some third party composed of 12 PEOPLE. God knows, they did a horrible and shoddy job at this port. Warner Bros even had the audacity to come out and say that 30 FPS is the best way to play this game.

    Really? REALLY? Are they that dense? This is 2015, not 1995. PCs are more than capable of handling this game, yet they did a shoddy job of optimizing it and try to mask it by telling us not to uncap the FPS.

    It seems like WB knew the pc version was poorly optimised. All the review copies sent out to magazines and web reviewers seem to be the PS4 version. From reading online, it also seems that the Console versions actually have better graphical features than the PC version, so even if you have a top end PC card, the performance you can expect this game to run, will be less than the consoles.
    An absolute joke of a port, locked to 30fps by default, and I doubt this will be fixed anytime soon. A few patches won't be enough to fix this disaster!    … Expand

    Its broken. Everytime you drive the batmobile the frame rate drops to 30. Its one of the first games I bought after getting a titan x. Almost crapped myself out of excitement when the game finished downloading, played for one hour and immediately proceeded to ask steam for a refund.

    I played the game 97 minutes of ARKHAM KNIGHTon the PC AND.... What a let down.

    At first, it felt good and looked great until the BATMOBILE scenes.

    Without tweaks the benchmark had me average out at 30 FPS, but the fog and smoke made it lower at one point to 15 FPS. I am thinking they did something really bad and screwey with that dynamic smoke thing. On or off - it tanked my system and dropped the frame rate to such a level - especially with the Batmobile that i wanted to VOMIT. With tweaks it was averaging about 55 to 59 frames per second - except near smoke.

    After playing Arkham Knight I just wanted to vomit... the motion sickness and the drop in frame rates made me ill and I do not get motion sickness or such - but it was that bad... ugh....

Why? How? I have 8gigs of RAM, a 4gig VRAM GPU, a high quality SSD, a powerful multi-core CPU. By all accounts, my computer should be crushing the otherwise demanding game, but instead it is a mess of a slideshow. It is almost like watching a blurry comic book. This isn't even touching on what happens when I have to drive the car or get into fast gliding.

    Batman Arkham Knight is such an awful game at launch. I experienced crashes, bugs, graphical problems and especially memory leaks, this game uses a very large amount of RAM.

    Highly unoptimized for an NVIDIA GeForce GTX 970 graphics card and an Intel Core i7 930 Bloomfield quad-core CPU.

    Game feels very rushed and plays like a Steam Early Access game, completely regret pre-ordering this game.

    This game might be a good game, im not really sure since i wasn't able to play the game at a frame rate higher than 25 fps due to the terrible PC port. It kills me that the port is this bad, Arkham Asylum and City are two of my favorite games, and i was really excited to play this game. I will revise my review if the new PC patch is able to actually make the game playable.

    Worst port, i've never played. I can run The Witcher 3 on ultra, at 60fps and it's unable to hold 30fps. Only "Normal" texture quality. The Game runs like a race of bricks. Good combat, as always, the Batmobile quests doesn't fit quite good. Good Game, bad PC port.

    Worst optimization I have ever seen of a console game for PC, and insult to PC owners everywhere.
    FPS capped to 30 for a PC port, absolutely unacceptable. Even though you can change it by going into the files yourself, what were they thinking. Very little option control, bad performance, stuttering, huge FPS drops, graphics don't look that good

    I own a $2000 PC and the game can't stay above 50fps after manually unlocking the cap. This is a botch job on Iron Galaxy Studio and all involved. The performance is abysmal.

    Who is this Batman guy? What is his story? This is stuff that the player needs to know before they start crippling guys who are just trying to get a little cash. This Batman fella is practically an unknown in the comic book world, and he deserved more of an explanation. Where are his parents while all this is happening? Do they know their kid is sneaking out at night, pretending to be a bat, and fighting a chubby Australian dude calling himself the penguin? They need to get their act together.

    The Bat Car Mobile Tank Machine is used so often in the game, they might as well have named it "Bat Mobile: Arkham Knight" I don't even remember what Batman looks like anymore! Is he the guy with the green flashlight on his chest?

    What's up with the villain? It's like they just brought in some teenager who just finds Batman kinda lame, recorded his voice, and then made a character based off him. It's hard to take a bad guy seriously when he sounds like a 12 year old talking into the monster mash voice changing machine.

    Okay okay. You wanna know what else bugs me? Sure you do. Where is all the emotion and death? Where is the big climax? I've been through more emotional twists and turns while looking through my fridge than I have playing this game. I thought this was supposed to be some sorta big finale or something? Isn't that right? Did I miss the memo where the creators came out and said "Hey. Turns out this game is just sorta meh. Like, you can play it if you want... but not really."

    Maybe that's why it crashes so much. The creators purposefully rigged the game to crash so the players wouldn't have enough time to realize how awful the game really was. This game crashes more times than I do in the bat mobile. Every time I make a turn I end up falling into the grand canyon. Why is the grand canyon even in this game? I'm telling you, nothing makes sense.    … Expand

    This game is a DISASTER. Occasional frame rate drops even when you put it on the lowest settings or even if you got the GTX 980ti with it. And did I forget to mention the game is LOCKED AT 30 FPS?! That's right, it is locked at 30 FPS although you can change the game files to reach 60 FPS. And also, glitches! Yay! **** this travesty.

    I would like to be able to give this game higher than a zero but I can't actually play it without constant stuttering. Not even with 2 video cards (7950's sure they're older but still decent) can I play the game at 1024x768....yeah not even a wide screen resolution.

    I'm holding out that Rocksteady can fix the game that Iron Giant ruined before I request a refund from Steam.

    Y'know, the ones that anyone who is playing Arkham Knight already owns and has completed because it's a trilogy (plus a cash-in prequel)... Also, here's    WB continues to kick loyal fans in the balls by giving those who have stuck patiently and loyally to this broken, buggy (but just playable on top line hardware) release free copies of Arkham Asylum, Arkham City and Arkham Origins.

    Been a gamer for 20 years or so and this is by far the worst port I have ever seen. Game won't even let me play because every time I start this **** thing , game disables my graphic card driver completely (and this is the only game that does this ) .     Porting issues aside, Batman: Arkham Knight is a decent enough game. It's not the spectacular swansong we hoped for from Rocksteady, but it's another solid - if predictable - slice of Arkham gameplay, with a couple of great sections along the way.
