    Ok short:
    What sx there:
    1) A main story (plot) quite pathetic...seems like it was created just in 2-3 days before the release. Dumb emotions, dumb dialogues...nothing epic or dramatic at all! (Only kill kill kill revenge revenge drunk revenge kill kill) Even a Black Flag got 3+ dramaepic moments. 2) Music....is there any music? lol Ive heard only in credits after completin a game.

Ive heard only in credits after completin a game. Because its quite ordinary and quiet. Again if we remember Black Flag (specially main theme) - epic epic epic.
    3) Optimization...there no f optimization in this game)) So forget about to play normally for few daysweeks till UnterSoft patch it.
    4) Activities and gear - sux. Wtf you tried to beat a Sherlock by addin an investigation missions? You failed. Gear looks good but if you dont want to participate in some Club stuff - you wont get a really good-lookin and useful.
    Ok now good side:
    1) Graphics....yeah yeah with awesomely crappy optimization it looks good. I cant call it NEXTGEN...but something like a PreNextGen.
    2) Movement. Yeah tricks and parkour became quite smooth and bett-ah. But still we can face some stupid fails with jumping on wrong walls and sides.
Well thats it. Lmao but Unity sked from Black Flag and even a ACIII.

The technical issues (framerate, bugs, getting stuck in geometry) alone should prevent anybody from giving this a 10/10 score. Case closed. You can't reward something a perfect score that has so many glaring technical issues. ( My pc can't handle tthis game above of 25 FPS) It's a terrible technical mess of game.

Terribly optimized (15-25 fps no matter you playing on high end PC or on consoles). Lot of glitches, crashes and bugs. I highly suggest to skip this one... because it is absolute garbage!

This game is Total **** ubicrap did it again. The AI is **** there are micro transactions in a $69 game and what the **** is this ****ty duo mode? Who in the world would think this would be a good idea?!?

2 x gtx 980. i7 4770k, 16gb of ram and ssd, game is still sluggish compared to others. If they fix optimization ill give 2 more points, The scifi setup is stupid and ruins the immersion often, Movement glitches make sneaking almost impossible. Everybody has British accent in France, NPCs run against walls, glide everywhere and warp stupidly on objects. 1 point for trying to make co-op.

First of all I want to say: this game is a masterpiece.
Amazing graphics, great story, an astonishing action-adventure placed in the middle of the french revolution.

The story is good, the secondary mission nice and the coop are fun... and you can discover paris in wounderful 1800 reconstruction... for me ACU is a very good surprise after AC3 and ACBF...

Pouring kerosene over $60 and lighting it on fire would provide much better entertainment than this game.

Don't forget to light another $30 on fire for the season pass.

Hilariously dreadful. Ubisoft's reach clearly exceeded their grasp here. Probably the worst technical execution of a AAA title in just about forever (and given the disaster that was Battlefield 4 that's saying a lot).

Which is a pity because it *could* (and may still be after 3 months or patching) have been an astounding game but at the moment it's astounding for all the wrong reasons.

I don't write reviews usually, but this time I do - as a warning.
Can you play the game in state it is right now? Barely. Will you enjoy it? Definitely not.
Sorry, but I refuse to accept that FX6350, 16GB RAM and R9 280 3GB OC is not enough to get decent frame rate. On LOWEST settings fr will drop in some places to 15. It is totally unstable. It doesn't hold same frame rate for longer

What's interesting - on high settings was almost the same!
It looks like it doesn't react much to settings you run.
Unity is just not ready. Initiates website recognizes only my AC IV Black Flag. Companion app crashes and I'm losing progress - waist of time. Because some chests and unlocks can't be done without online features - you're screwed.
    Do not buy unless fixed.

Each room is so sumptuous and gorgeous I have spent lots of time just wandering looking at art. I am not even progressing the game much because now I am just walking around the town marvelling at the buildings. All those NPCs speaking French make me feel like I am there. The detail is stunning. The gameplay is secondary. Sure, that hasn't changed much from AC1. But that isn't the point. This game is a work of art. I can't wait to get to Paris. Expand

UBI toke out the ships, whats up with that? It's as if black flag should have released after unity. Very displeased with it but as long as it plays/launches then i'm giving it atleast a 1 for that and low GFX don't look much different than high, sound quality like someone falling into the ocean sounds like a blown speaker or just plan terrible audio programing. Looking at 1/10 sorry.

Soon after posting this review, I did some more playing and ran into some glitches of my own for the first time, one where I hung from an imaginary edge or something and one where I stood on an imaginary box it seemed, could not do anything so I only way to continue was to restart from last checkpoint.. From all the lag spikes that interrupt in the middle of a battle can make it unplayable and very unenjoyable so due to that, I am dropping the score down to 0 since the game cannot be played due to lag spikes and so many glitches. I am currently using latest updates.

Unplayable with GTX 770. I don't care about fps but Unity stutters, lags and freezes every 3 seconds. Fps goes 0-18fps and 22-25fps. Low settings wont help because it still stutters and lags, and looks like PS1 game.

I bought Unity to my Xbox One and now I can atleast play it.

    Worse PC port of mankind.

I always was a massive fan of AC series, mistakes or not. But after some weird parkhour in Brotherhood and crazy low boston fps in AC3 (had core2quad@3ghz back then) this is by far the worst. Not only it takes all the bad thigs from those earlier titles, moving dynamics are even worse, sluggish and weird. This was clearly developed for gamepad and no energy was spent for mouse+keyboard adoption. You really need 60fps, on locked 30fps (like on consoles) your mouse lags massively! Missions can get on your nerves at times, but the worst thing is you have no checkpoints at some harder stealth missions (read on for this):

On older titles you tried many times to see what you can do better or where your mistakes cost you the most. And it was fun at least. This? No mistakes or you never finish your mission. Just stupid. This is the first game in more than 20 years to actually fry my nerves and wanting a button to just skip a mission for a later time! Not because it's hard in a good way, but because it sucked the fun out of me. In the end I just finished the main story on easy as quickly as possible and deleted the game.

    2. The game with all the technicals.

    1:
If I was to just review the game itself discarding all the technical issues I would say the game is f*cking amazing. Ubi has significantly improved upon the existing game and has brought the game back to the vision of AC2. A stealth focused game. Heaps to do, love the new parkour system, makes running through areas with chest high walls not a problem. I hate the new combat system, the only reason I hate it is because its really hard, which is a good thing. This time around you actually need to try. Lots of new animations to the game. Your character feels like he as weight and mass. The crowds are massive but don't serve any purpose other then to fill the streets. So there pretty much useless. The story seems average. I have not completed it but its hard to keep up. Co-Op seems like a good idea but is heavily broken (Will discus in second part of review) and theres character customization. Heaps of gear and weapons to buy. So that sums up the experience and I would give it and 8/10

    2:
Now, this part will explain everything I stated above but with the FPS/Stuttering/Freezing/Random Audio Loss included. I'll cut right to the chase. This is bullsh!t, the game is unplayable. Constant stuttering, FPS drops. ABSOLUTELY UNPLAYABLE. You walk down the street and your character starts teleporting around and the game freezes and all of a sudden your some where else. I can handle the minor issues like A.I f*cking up, texture popping, A.I randomly appearing. BUT I CANNOT HANDLE THE STUTTERING AND FPS DROPS. 4/10

Side note: The game features micro transactions to allow you to unlock equipment faster. W.T.F Ubi, are you trying to be the next EA.

It's an undeniably beautiful game, if your PC can handle it (it's a bit of luck I suppose combined with good hardware) The graphics are a marked improvement over the previous game, but I was running at pretty high settings. The game goes back to the more classic AC style; running around a gorgeous city rather than the dullness of colonial American architecture or the Caribbean. With the addition of the interiors of many buildings, it really does feel more immersive.

The story gets off to an interesting start, the main character, Arno, is the son of an Assassin, who's father is killed is then taken in by a Templar and raised with his step sister; Elise. The story is primarily focused around assassinations, each sequence being quite short (there's 12 of them) and most involving one of the excellent assassination missions, which there are a bucketful of ways to approach each one, a couple of them having unique kills and all of them having tens of ways to infiltrate the area. These are the highlight of the main story. The ending is rather lackluster, it could have been implemented much better. The rest of the story however is exciting and while I was playing it I couldn't stop myself going for the next mission. I constantly wanted more. I still want more. Another downside is if you enjoy the modern day story, there isn't really much of it.

The side missions are rather good, there's hundreds of them seemingly, I haven't got through them all yet. The "Paris Stories" are the main ones, where you follow mini campaigns of citizens of Paris, solving their problems (which mostly involves killing people). There are also social clubs, which provide you with 3 missions each, each offering a cash reward, some very small, some very significant. Again, mostly these revolve around killing people.

Onto the coop mode. It worked most of the time for me, on release day it was having some trouble, as UPlay was offline, but when it worked it was really fun. I was playing with randoms but it would have been much more fun if my friends played it, so we could have some kind of coordinated effort. Killing two people in sync though is as satisfying as it looks on the promotional material. It's a joy to play and the missions are actually quite long, and can be played alone if you're up for the challenge.

The new combat system is a nice refresher for the boring simplicity which has plagued the previous games. Weapon tiers actually matter now, increasing damage and the health bar is back from the Ezio games, and the kill streak function is gone, to make it harder for you to take on large sums of enemies. This makes stealth a much more important factor in areas with lots of guards. The smoke bomb function is a useful one, but it has been nerfed a bit so that you cant kill everyone just by dropping one. It's mostly useful for running away or surprise attacks.

The free running mechanic has been upgraded and it looks and feels smoother than ever. It's more refined with the addition of the downward parkour being wonderful, it feels really good when you get it right. The motions look fluid and the running looks excellent. Overall it feels a bit different to old AC games in the free running regard, a nice improvement.

Now for the micro transactions. Honestly, if nobody had told me beforehand, I wouldn't have even known that they were there. The top tier gear is quite expensive but once you have cash rolling in from Café-Théâtre, it really doesn't take that long to get the cash, no longer than the best gear took in AC:IV. The companion app is absolutely dreadful however, I have no clue how to use it after spending about 15 minutes trying to fathom it and then giving up, as is the AC Initiates crap.

In summary, if your PC can handle it, it's one of the best games in the series yet, despite its disappointing ending, I've still had the most fun in this iteration of AC than I have since brotherhood. It was a good decision to go back to the original AC formula, and it has worked very well. It's visually stunning, the architecture is interesting and there's plenty to do. It's absorbing and immersive, with interesting combat and excellent free running. I can't recommend it enough.

Newfound openness of Assassin’s Creed demonstrates just how inadequate its AI really is for a stealth game: pampered nobility usually simply ignores a bloodied body on the dance floor, and guards don’t care much either. At least they’ve learned how to fight: unless you “cheat” with smoke bombs, it’s highly unlikely you’ll survive a melee against a group. [Jan 2015, p.62]

As I write this, Assassin’s Creed: Unity is a bugfest, but technical problems, however annoying, can and probably will be fixed. It is not cracks in textures that it is the most worrying thing about Unity, but the cracks in game design and writing.
