Beautiful game, BORING world, ZERO detail, side quest farm and so on. If you want to play a real open world game rich with story and details then kingdom come deliverance is much much much better.

Coming from Kingdome come deliverance to this is such a huge letdown. Origins is a candy eye beautiful game with the sweet graphic but boring world with ZERO detail. The side quest farming just to advance in main story is such just too boring. Wait for sale or pirate this game

The game is designed using 'free-to-pay' model. Player either spend 1000 hours to farm level enough to pass level check to access STORY MISSION. Or pay additional 100$ to get to that level instantly.

Many people complained about the new combat system. While I'm not a huge fan of it either, I'd say it's an improvement over the combat system in the previous AC games, especially Unity.

All in all, in my opinion, this is the best game in the entire franchise.

Had zero issues with this after 30+ hours of gameplay. Easily the most accessible AC title in the series. Graphics look amazing on my i7700k with a GTX1080Ti and I've never had a single crash. Rarely get a little choppy cut scene but nothing that bothers me.

This is definitely one of the best game of 2017, and probably the best Assassins creed game if not second best. Assassins creed origins has ditched that outdated forumlar and has dipped into many game series for inspiration which has created this great game, it has combat influence from dark souls, open world influence from the witcher 3 and detailed open world influence from mafia 2. With all these features its hard not to like this game, the only problem I had with this game was the terrible pc port which i looked past. If ubisoft was able to optimise their games like dice then this game would of been next level. overall I am very happy with this game! 9/10. Expand

The graphics are excellent, the movement physics and stuff is improved on previous AC titles, but the fighting is simple brawling and the missions and plot are repetitive and boring. At first I was intrigued by levelling up my gear, but that's all done now and I'm barely halfway through the game. It was cool to see the pyramids, and explore some tombs, but just doing essentially just more of the same stuff over and over with no challenge or useful rewards is disheartening (gaining xp to level up is only necessary because the level system is so wonky, attack someone a few levels higher than you and you barely do any damage at all while they can one shot kill you) so gaining xp feels less like a reward and more like a forced grind so you can continue.
Kudos to the graphical design teams and artists, the world is beautiful and it ran smoothly on my pc mostly, but the game itself gets boring and repetitive quickly, and it's just not fun or challenging (yes I could go and fight enemies ten levels above me and slowly wear them down for a challenge, but after putting 300hrs into Nioh, the fighting in this game is abysmally boring and simple). I've seen people say you should use different attack styles to make it interesting, but, why bother? when I can just hack up the enemies, why bother being stealthy? it's not a challenge it's just slower. Why even bother hacking them up when I can just use a magical guided arrow to kiil them one by one? I'll just hack em up anyway, it's quicker...
I can't honestly recommend this game. I was hoping for another black flag, but this isn't it.

AC Origins is a good game: the environment, graphics (you need a good computer), voice actors are really good. I wanted to continue with witcher 3, and this game is close to it (75% close to it). The story is ok; you have to read all the things to really enjoy it at max.

The problem is the immersion breaking mechanics : -close to a main quest ? : "use your eagle !" every time ! no way

Normally soldiers get alerted when they see bodies but if you return a good while later you can see them carrying the dead bodies.
Tons of ease of use like easy to tag enemies using eagle, boats and camels are fast, easy fast travel and passage of time at will, impressive variety of weapons and playstyles e.g. Predator bows are radically different to multi wield bows etc.

Though the pure mechanics do not see any solidifying change. The 'life' of the game still feels like it a floating glitch within an otherwise excellent world. NPC's are dry, even though they have plenty to do and say. But does that damper the game play as a whole?

No. ACO is as fun, and to me much more fun, than previous AC titles for it masters the art of fluent and consistent achievement. Taking over camps, looting treasure and defeating enemies is a blast in splurges. Climbing to the top of a view point is exhilarating even though not every jump is how you intended. The story is MEH at best. Though I loved seeing historical characters come to life, even if it was a slapped on personality version of that character. Let us just say the story is NOT why I am still playing. It is the world, the vastness and immediate reward I get when exploring and clearing off the map.

Combat. Fun, and only fun, when you get used to the mechanics. I played with KB+M and it was fine after making some switches on the dodge action keys. HINT: Double tap to dodge is WAY better than wasting your space bar. Use that for climbing.

Overall, as always with AC, I'm having a blast and am waiting for the repetition effect to take hold. That is why I usually never finish these types of games. It is a kick to play and explore while fresh yet 20 hours in I'm like, "no thanks, did that about a hundred and one times already. For longevity, there MUST be a captivating story and lore. This is why I am still playing the Witcher 3 to this day.

Let me finish by saying that is one of the most gorgeous games I ever came across. And the fact that it is historically accurate makes me even happier. I will continue to read and explore regions as a role play in the zestiest of my ancestors regardless of action game play.

    RECOMMEND!

It's a witcher in ancient Egypt with remarkable attention to details and atmosphere. I did not expect such a great game from the Asssasins series. I am truly surprised. Yes there are a few bugs, for example in two locations I experienced problems with unnatural brightness in the caverns and once I got stuck, but apart from that everything runs fluent and without glitches. Still some Textures are slowly loading in and they mostly look blurred. The Quests are somewhat okay but i don't like them personally.

Microtransactions and ingame shop - im not gonna point out that this is pitiful.

Apart from the good graphics/performace & story, i usually get bored after like 1-2hours of playing. I mainly try to reveal the map and discover stuff/collectibles. So im not doing much Quests..

If i'd aim for the main story i would probably have more fun but the A.I is pretty bad and the missions are quite repetitive.

But like other reviews said : The Game is too massive, too large. - i do like games with good content like Witcher 3 (replayed 3x on 100%) but not if its uncreative and stretched.

In my opinion the game is worth like 20-30€. I do recommend using a trainer/unlocker for the ingame shop items though.

The best thing about this game is the stunningly beautiful world the developers have created, probably my favourite open world I've ever played. Everything in this world feels like it was crafted with immense love for detail and history. Exploring tombs or just random ruins is really fun thanks to the amount of detail they've put in.

The story in the game is not the best, but it makes you care about the characters and you can understand why they do what they do. It's a decent story overall, it just felt a bit short. If it had more buildup and a bigger ending, I think it would have helped it become better.

One thing that is new with this game is the combat. In the beginning, it felt quite dull and I didn't really enjoy it, but after playing a few hours and testing different weapons I came to enjoy it. Not the best combat I've ever experienced but a lot of fun nonetheless. It also gives just tons of approaches and options to each quest, which made the side quest more diverse. Side questing, however, was mostly the same thing over and over.

I think this game deserves at least and 8, but I'm going for a 9 because I loved the open world so much.

The revamped combat system paired with the totally new approach to the open world exploration make this title the biggest stand-out in the series since the original. A complete shift in focus from hollywood-style, low-interaction mechanics to grounded and highly mechanical interactions breathe fresh life into a dead series.

It's a shame they didn't try to extend this approach to their incredible yet boring climbing system, or the press-one-button-and-win stealth mechanics, or the now-non-existent ai crowds (which in this one are smaller and less interactive than any AC title ever. It's actually the largest disappointment with the game). Even in the midst of conflicting game design choices, the real standout of the game is the side-quests, which are incredibly rich and reminiscent of Witcher 3 in their depth. Lastly, this is probably the most photogenic game I've ever played. Every square of this game manages to visually impress.

At the end of the day, what stops this from being a ten is the fact that other decrepit systems in the game weren't reworked, and that encounter variety is lacking. They did a good job with making human enemy combatants diverse, but the animals fail to bring any diversity. Aligators should be scary ambushers, hippos should be terrifying stampeding beasts, and leopards should stalk players from trees. instead every animal behaves EXACTLY the same, repeating the most toxic and boring playstyle ever: spam unblockable attacks. There is one cookie cutter method of beating them and it applies to every animal in the game. I often just wished they were able to shake it up a little more. I loved that they added a DESPERATELY needed difficulty choice, I immediately went with hard and wasn't disappointed. AC games have consistently failed to make the player feel like an assassin because the player is given so much power. I desperately miss the chase sequences at the end of each assassination in AC1 where you had to run for life from the entire town.

For those complaining about DRM, I actually didn't notice it. I thought the game ran quite well as my 1070 was getting a solid 50 fps on max settings at 90% of 4k. It runs better than Witcher 3 for me and doesn't look any worse either. Perhaps having the game installed on an NVMe flash memory drive is what made the difference. I'm adding this game to a personal and growing list of fantastic games getting ripped to pieces for technicalities that don't really matter, although this is probably the best one on the list.

What I want to see from this franchise moving forward is taking the same approach they applied to combat, and apply it to stealth, climbing, and the ai crowds. Stealth should be more interactive, guards should be more aware of their surroundings, bases should have fewer avenues of entry, sound and light should matter. Up the number and complexity of decisions the player needs to make to be successful so that they actually feel rewarded when they perfect stealth that huge fort. Make climbing more grounded, AC already has all of the hard work done to facilitate the most incredible of any game, their node-based traversal system in inctricate and has amazing animations, but actually traversing it should be more interactive. There is an entire sport of rock climbing that they can borrow mehcanics from. implement a climbing system where moves have difficulty and the players have stamina and momentum. This adds another component for the player to master and can make climbing to sync points and running away form guards far more interesting. lastly the crowds should always have some kind of impact on the player. Make each ai slightly different. Maybe some would decide to aid you in a fight, maybe some would turn on you. Maybe some recognize you and rat you out. Maybe add a wanted level on the player or add events that make ai behave differently. Maybe There's some holiday where the crowds get bigger and pay less attention, or maybe something the player did scared all the ai crowds into hiding in their homes and streets are empty and quiet. You could add sooo much encounter variety by simply mixing up the context in which the encounters happen, and revamping the crowd system is an easy way to accomplish that.

And every hour I understood that Origins is not a new product, and just one project of Ubisoft in which all mechanics of studio are used. Hunting and interaction with animals - Far Cry, Oryol drone from Watch Dogs, big empty and boring (in comparison with Skyrim and Wild Hunt) the world from Wildlands. Fighting mechanics - For Honor on the minimum requirements. A plot which had to tell about formation of an award? Why, if fans can push nonsense with set of historical persons. Let's give to formation of an award of 30 minutes of a game - same INGENIOUSLY. A game is a degradation of a series. The majority of mechanics or is simplified to a minimum, or in general is removed. The architecture is simplified to a limit. Games are caused by disappointment. Origins - a striking example of the fact that Ubisoft isn't able to release the worthy product looking as NEW any more. But a game has 1 advantage - it is a visual look. It is the best study of the area and a historical setting which I saw in video games. At Ubisoft one of the best designers and artists in the industry. It is a pity that only they also work in studio.
PS. The Russian postscoring - the worst that I listened to. From ears there is blood.

I find the plot indecent; initially it was good but then it went too vague, to me it seemed like the dudes went off-budget and cropped a lot from the late parts of the game. I got bored by the last few missions and wanted to finish & remove the game quickly.

Combat is so much fun and obviously better than the prev AC games, but again a wrong move for an AC game. Who needed it?

Stealth is a miss. Guards are much more responsive which is great, the AI is decent; but where the heck are crowd kills or in general, the disguise? Combat is given more importance in the game. Again, wrong move.

Parkour is totally eliminated. I show my mid finger here to the devs.

The modern life parts were unnecessary. Everyone has an Animus these days and especially this dudette can go to everyone's past. Really?

Anyway, all in all this was a decent ARPG game but hell no, by no means, an AC game.

On hard difficulty, the AI is actually somewhat formidable and creates formidable challenges. Finally, in my opinion, the main character, Bayek challenges Ezio as one of the best assassins in the series. His inner drive for revenge and justice for Egypt makes his character deep and makes room for development over the course of the game.

Now, this is 100% my opinion you can hate me just like you hate microtransactions whatever I don't care. Now for those who like the combat and actually like the combat of the game here is my review. So number 1 the story. The story is pretty short and left me a little disappointed but I was still a little satisfied near the end it felt a little rushed and kinda ruins the immersion but they have tons and tons of side quest that just get you into the game however, there is a decent amount of escort/follow missions which can make the game boring and repetitive but overall there is a lot of side missions thats all about the action and can even chain into 4 more side quest. The world is huge and I really love just walking around the map because the game is just so beautiful and really captured the time era with the art on the walls just so amazing. Now the character you play Bayek is one of my favorite assassins creed characters, unlike a lot of assassins creed characters this guy has a sense of f**king humor a lot of assassins creed characters are just stale and boring and you wonder if they are even human the voice actor did an amazing job as the character and really captured the emotions of the scene. The combat man oh man the combat some people like it some people hate it, in my opinion this new combat is more challenging for the player and I love it, a lot of assassins creed games were braindead with the combat and took no focus at all. If you play this game put it on hard because even though it takes more thought when you use the new combat it's still super easy because they take so much damage on easy and normal but if you slap this baby on hard mode man the combat just gets even better, a con to the combat is that the parry timing is pretty off, and can get super frusterating some say that there is no stealth combat but there is you just really gotta use your brain more if you wanna kill everyone in the fort without being detected. Overall assassins creed origins is a good game way better than a lot of assassins creed games like all assassins creed still can be a little buggy and some bugs can even frustrate me sometimes and I'm like "IM GOING TO RATE YOU ON METACRITC A 1/10 TO MANY BUGS **** YOU BOOBIESOFT." but I stayed true to this review and gave my 100% legit review. thanks for reading all of this if you did umm plz be nice to me bro I just play video games if I offended you in any way I'm sorry man but this is just my honest review I hope you have a good one and I made this on Thanksgiving so if its thanksgiving for you then happy thanksgiving lul. 7. Combat is sluggish and poorly executed. The controls for combat are bad, the target lock system is bad. The moves, dodges and parry don't flow like they should. It just borrows from Witcher, Dark Souls, Batman and kept some from old AC games. But it is just not satisfying at all.
    8. The level system also makes it so that either u breeze through fights not caring and get hit 20 times without dying, or get 2 shot by harder enemies. This is unless u are almost EXACTLY at your own level.
    9. Aiming with bow u can tell that it is controller adapted. When I move my mouse a tiny micrometer, the zoomed sight ingame jumps a few pixels instead of one pixel as in any other game.
    10. It lost that driving Assassin's Creed style narrative, especially like in AC 2 + expansions.
    11. Want to have some random encounters, random stuff happening when travelling this ENORMOUS map? How about.. hmm.. 3 man horse soldier caravans carrying metal/wood/money? How about having the same caravanas COPY PASTED ACROSS THE WHOLE ENORMOUS OPEN WORLD WITH NO OTHER VARIATION AT ALL??

    12. Assassin's Creed: Far Cry - literally just started doing the same open world stuff like Far Cry. Just.. no.... not another base to take over... except in this u have a mission to go in, kill commander and steal the treasure chest. So u kill leader, take treasure chest (get rng low quality loot, cuz plz buy legendary in store) and leave.. Only to have the whole base still run by enemy and soldiers respawn after some time. This time u have no effect at all on the map!

Jesus, I could do this all day long, but this game is not worth any more of my time. Great great graphics, they could just use this in grade school history classes for kids to look at an interpretation of old Egypt. But as a game it is just so hollow..

Disfrútalo a tu ritmo.

To me theI've enjoyed the AC series, iteration I - IV (black flag) and the main attraction of it was that it continued the stealth gameplay that the *original* Splinter cell game established, but which the latter series for some reason abandoned in its sequels. AC Origins however does away with the stealth focus, and a number of other things which made the previous titles fun to play. To me the game was a major disappointment. Where the former four installments had interesting stories to tell, characters you had some emotional attachment to, skills that manifested naturally as part of the story, Origins has none of that.

In Origins you are a clumsy social worker with "sword", who flails unsuccessfully his weapon unless you continuously spend hours doing tedious busy-work to get a [experience] counter to increase. This means the game *forces* you to do tedious and repetitive busy-work even if all you want is to play the main story-line.

    Gameplay:
The above paragraph says it all. The gameplay has regressed on all fronts except graphics and map size. Where the previous titles allowed you to focus on *what* you wanted to do, Origins have you constantly focus on *how*. This may appeal to some players, but it did not to me. The witcher struck a fine balance between player agency during combat and still being "an awesome hero". Origins has rougher control and response which makes fights imprecise and a bit of a crap shoot. This wouldn't have been so bad if the game didn't at the same time do away with most of the stealth which has been the hallmark of the franchise. In this combat oriented title these rough controls really got on my nerves.

    Protagonist:
The main character is as wooden and uninteresting as a twig. Easily the least interesting character in the entire AC franchise so far. He has a wife however which has a lot more personality, seems involved in a much more interesting setting and plots. For example being an instrument to Cleopatra taking power, and when playing the game I felt that it would have been much better to have *her* cast as the lead.

    Story:
It doesn't matter since most aspects of the game seems so detached from it. No interesting developments happening related to it, only a few lackluster recall cut-scenes which have no bearing on the progression of the game. It's a classic revenge setting. A family member got killed and off you go into the world.

    Side quests:
The accomplishment of providing interesting and engaging side quests which the witcher game brought about two years ago has clearly been noted by Ubisoft. In Origins the company tried to tackle their number one complaint across their titles; forcing people through tedious fetch-quests. Unfortunately they did not study the inspirational title hard enough. Ubi observed some of the ingredients which made witcher side quests appreciated by the public, but failed entirely at putting those ingredients together, into something which resulted in entertainment. Instead what Origins offers side-quest-wise are still the same boring fetch-quests that have plagued the company's titles for years. The only difference to previous games is that this time they have you follow (literally run / ride behind) some uninteresting NPC, that you'll never meet again, for minutes, listening to pointless conversation, and *then* applies their old formula; pick up an item/kill a person or animal. There's absolutely no connection to the story, making these exercises entirely mind-numbingly boring and pointless.

    Technical:
Ran OK on a Windows 7 machine with Intel i7 4770 CPU, 32GB RAM and GTX 1080 with frame rates between 40-60 FPS. No crashes that I can recall.

    Conclusion:
This is the first AC game which I will not complete. I've invested 40 hours into it and can stand it no more.
When I feel like playing a stealth game right now, I see two titles on my desktop. Wolfenstein NC and Origins. Wolfenstein gives me more satisfying stealth game play, controls, interesting characters and a better story. So if you're looking for some satisfying sneak-killing, then Origins is probably not for you.

The following excellent review echoes my own feelings about the game nearly perfectly. Particularly observations 20-4 in the article's descending order. Chagrins 4-1 I did not agree with or did not suffer:

The art and attention to detail is simply stunning. When I climbed over the dunes and witness the Great Pyramids for the first time will be one of those gaming moments I will never forget. Nor will I forget the first time I enter one of these structures and start exploring the tombs within. It's fitting that they added a camera to share these breathtaking views with fellow gamers. I have a windows folder filled with dozens of pictures that I set to my Windows background wallpaper.
The animation and combat is as fluid as ever and the RPG elements are a welcome add-on to the franchise. You can even level up your weapons with your character so that old weapons never become obsolete. There are about 7 classes of melee weapons and each has it's uses so you might want to hold onto at least one of each to switch back and forth during combat. Surprisingly, there are 4 classes of bows that have their own play styles and uses. My favorite was the sniping Predator bow, as I got a legendary version fairly early in the game. Because of this I played a more classic Assassin's Creed play style with stealth and take downs instead of straight up combat. You still can't slack in the combat department in your skill trees because close quarters combat is necessary in some missions and the main quest.
After 60 hours of game play I only encountered 2 crashes and a couple physics-based glitches. Otherwise the game is remarkably stable for such a massive open world game. Frame-rate gets weirdly low in cut scenes and facial animations are off but the few negatives are far outweighed by the overwhelming positives for this game.
Notice how nearly all of the negative reviews mention DRM. Salty kids upset that, so far, they can't pirate the game. Too bad people don't review actual gameplay anymore, it's all gamer politics.
Yes, I'm a real person not an Ubi plant as I have done dozens of reviews over the years.
There's places to go to see reviews of people who actually bought the game to get a real consensus.

i'll go with vmprotect hence the name, running the game within a virtual machine, i played games within virtual machine with gpu passthrough before , in fact i just tried to play ac syndicate in linux using win10 vm with gpu passthrough, i got something kinda similar , high cpu usage and bottlenecking my gpu
if you thought denuvo was bad locking you out of your game when you change hardware
check denuvo+vmprotect , now i have to get ****ty performance so someone that was never going or will able to buy it cannot play for free, which eventually will be pirated and get that **** removed and pirates will get the better version of the game, good **** job ubisoft

so **** you ubisoft, and now for the game review
bad facial animations , the game has little to no story, the characters are boring, the conversations are written by 5years old, the combat system is unfinished and clunky, no head or body part cutting ( missed opportunity because the sound of hitting is great ), stealing from zelda and the witcher and failing to see why those game were successful, the future day in origins is a joke, this game is more of spinoff than ac game, nothing in this game is about assassin's creed, this is a backward step for the series, ii remember AC1 from the get go put you in the plot and make you feel like an assassin , and ac black flag, which might have the best story and character in the ac series so far, i enjoyed black flag like no other ac because of the strong story it has , it made me look forward to more ac , only to be dissapointed by unity than this , ubi really dropped the balls in origins , the only good thing in this game is the world , this game have maybe the biggest and most beautiful map in a game to date
gaming industry got whole lot ****tier in 2017, lootboxes, microtransactions , the push toward online
**** triple AAA publishers like EA and ubisoft and activision
and if the upcoming games like far cry 5 will have this ****ed combination of multiple drm with vmprotect on top, im never ever buying anything from ubisoft i will not even bother downloading the pirated version , this performance breaking drms get on my **** nerves and im not going to play something like that again

    2. Stealth. You just run up behind people and stab’em. No need to sneak or crouch or be careful.
    3. The “return” of Secret Locations. The developers said they were bringing back the Secret Locations that were introduced in AC2. The Secret Locations were indoor, linear, platforming side-quests that were a throwback to the Prince of Persia: Sands of Time trilogy. Puzzle-platforming, acrobatic fun. Here they come in the form of crawling through pyramid tunnels like the Boston or New York Underground segments from AC3... Remember how nobody liked those?
    4. Most important: The combat is stiff and boring; none of the flare of, say, AC Brotherhood. Some say it’s more difficult (which supposedly means “better”), but it’s not more difficult in a legitimate way. 99.9% of fights can be won by mashing weak-attack. If a guy has a shield, press strong-attack once, then mash weak-attack again. If you’ve got a “Health on Hit” weapon you’re guaranteed a win. If you fight 2 of the same enemy type, one level 32, the other level 12, they have all the same moves and attacks. 32 is not more skilled than 12, he just has more hit-points. The difficult isn’t based on skill, it’s based on math.
    5. This is as spoiler free as I can make it. All the grinding you do to level up through the RPG elements introduced into the franchise by this game are ultimately meaningless. Do to certain... I’ll say “circumstances,” the last mission forces you to fight the last set of enemies with much weaker weapons and tools than the ones you’ve gathered throughout the rest of the game.

This is not a return to form for the AC games... it’s just another fail.

Returning to its roots in more ways than one
Assassins Creed Origins takes place in Egypt around 49 BC, the time of Cleopatra and Julius Ceasar
You play as the last Medjay, Bayek and occassionaly as his wife Aya
Without spoiling the story, something happens that sends Bayek on a revenge quest.. a very personal one that makes Bayek feel real, and gives you a real connection with him…
Im going to get the bad out of the way first….
I found the story here to be the weakest in the series main line games…
As the name suggests.. Origins tells the story of how the Assassins Creed started…
But it sortve just goes.. okay.. the creed is a thing now.. heres an explanation of the symbol, bye…
It never feeks impactful or justified.,, it sort of just happens and left me disliking both of the games main characters
The story is more focused on Bayek and his revenge which is fine… it definitely pulled at my heart strings but the delivery of his story as well as the story of the creed felt so disjointed…
It has interesting characters from history such as Julius ceasar and Cleopatra…
But I feel these characters were never fully utilized in the way characters have been in past assassins creed games… theyre just there… which leaves this to be easily the most forgettable campaign
I feel this may mostly have to do with the game deciding to go the more RPG route.. where you cant just focus on the story as enemies 3 or more levels higher than you will just one hit kill you…
This had me going out and ignoring the story just to level up and clean the map…
And when I came back to play through the story it was over before I knew it
I put 40 hours into the game, not even touching half of its giant map and id be surprised if there was more than 6 to 8 hours of actual campaign content here..
Overall extrememly disappointed in the campaign, even though it has a powerful opening…
On a positive note with the campaign.. I loved that we got a peak into our targets minds after assassinating them.. reminding me more of the first game… and there is more of a Desmond Miles feel with the present day…
It sortve just feels there..not as intrusive as the desmond saga but I feel the potential for something here in the future and it’s a step in the right direction..
Now that most of my ranting is done..
    Gameplay and experience wise..
Assassins Creed Origins is one of the best games in the entire Assassins Creed series…
Egypt is huge, again there is nearly half of this game ive yet to even uncover…
But uncovering it all is what makes assassins creed origins so great..
It finally feels addictive again to discover, no longer is the setting just a background.. it’s a character for the first time since Assassins Creed 3
There is an ungodly amount of detail in this world… easily the best open world of the year, so much care and attention to detail..
Every inch of this game feels hand crafted rather than thrown into some algorithm
The world is full of question marks in a way that doesn’t feel overwhelming..
There are sidquests with real stories attached to them such as helping a suicidal widow get over her grief..
The characters in the world feel real.. the world feels alive, it goes on with or without you..
There are tombs and bandit camps for you to raid and captains to kill for weapons, there are the sync points for fast traveling.. there are animal dens, clues for treasure hunts, sunken ships to plunder..
And you have an egal companion named senu that can take to the sky and mark points of interest to lessen the frustration of searching for an areas treasure to earn that xp bonus for clearing an area
You can also fight in arenas or chariot race…
There is so much to do here in this gorgeous world…
Uncovering new locations will award you with xp so you can level up and use higher weapons and dump skill points into bayek,,
There is a skill tree that focuses on close combat, ranged combat, and tootls such as smoke bombs and being able to tame animals…
Assassins Creed Origins is so close to perfection..
I haven’t had this much fun exploring an open world in a long time…
of calling my horse or camel and setting off to uncover the next question mark and the secrets this world hides..
im excited to go back in.
But the poor campaign hurts my overall opinion of this game, as do the few annoyances I have with its climbing feeling unresponsive compared to syndicate and unity.. and not being able to interact with items until you get out of conflict when enemies are dozens of yards away… which is the biggest one…
Let enemies ineterupt me… stop locking me out of actions…
But this open world is the best open world since the witcher 3…
Assassins Creed is back to being an addictive map cleaner full of wonder.
    I give Assassins Creed Origins
    a 9/10

I just can't believe the phoney consensus on it, nor can I accept to see benighted people assert that Origins is better than Assassin's Creed 2 and Brotherhood... Ubisoft just destroyed the whole lore of Assassin's Creed just to attract new people utterly unfamiliar with the saga's values. They removed all the things that made previous titles like AC2 and Brotherhood so good : no dual hidden blades, no recruits, they got rid of historical memories and real side quests that are yet so important in every self-respecting AC. Ancient combat has been replaced with a lore-unfriendly RPG-based system which was clearly not needed in order to bring more challenge. Freerun is half-baked. Messing up with everything is not what I call a return to the roots. I've been waiting four years for a game that feels like it's not even part of the series I have known for ten years, what a disgrace.

Then it's a NO Ashraf Ismail, your vision is off the beam on too many points. Most people seem to have forgotten what a true Assassin's Creed is about, makes me weep as to the future of this saga since I don't want to see that direction being pushed further for the next game. Once more, Ubi proved themselves capable of missing the boat even after taking a year off. A good game, but a poor Assassin's Creed.

P.S : At first I was set to give this game a 6/10 on behalf of the exceptional reconstitution of ancient Egypt, but I decided to mollify it when I saw that most of the positive reviews given here were mere shams just aimed at promoting the game. So instead of a 6, you get a 0.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. First, some of the negatives.

If you have played the first 10 hours of Assassin's Creed: Origins, then you have played the whole game. The combat is fun for a little while, but pretty much all the non boss enemies you will encounter are seen in that 10 hours. The main story plus doing side quests and exploring took 35-40 hours, so the repetitiveness gets a bit grueling. The main character is likable, but terribly gullible. He is constantly manipulated by his wife, who repeatedly coaxes him into carrying out her bad decisions as well as becoming a mass murderer, by playing on the loss of their son. The game then forces you to play as her, but she has the same skill set as the main character except not as good. Worse versions of all the main characters abilities, worse weapons an armour, etc. She's mean to everyone. She complains all the time. Essentially, she is the complete opposite of the main character except for his bad quality, being extremely gullible. I know they were going for strong female character here, but they created the opposite. Whoops

    Positives

The environments in this game are beautiful and capture Egypt really well. The animations look great. They kind of adopted the Breath of the Wild climb anything mentality in this iteration. Old games required certain handhold set pieces. This gives a lot more freedom trying to navigate the world as well as infiltrate a stronghold. The fighting, for the most part, feels alright. The different weapon mods are neat. Game-play in general all feels really solid. The best part of most Assassin's Creed games for me ends up not being the games themselves, but the history they are based off of. This game is no different. Found myself looking up all sorts of Egyptian history and geography.

Like most of these AC games, I wish the story was more gripping. If this were a movie story, it would give a 2 or so out of 10. Luckily, it is a video game :)

The game is actually enjoyable. The first AC game really since Black flag, the open world isn't the typical Ubisoft fare either they can only be commended for that. I wish they spent more time on cutscenes with side quests though like Witcher 3 and added more dialogue, but they wanted this massive open world so presumably had to water down a lot of them to fill it out. As a completionist who could not get through Syndicate or Unity's garbage im having quite a bit of fun with the side content outside of the constant guard camps.

The main quest isn't a let down either, i haven't even reached what i was most looking forward to with the Romans. There has been quite a few surprises and well written quests i cant wait to play more of it.

Man also the graphics are really impressive, dust storms, sandstorms, blood splatter effects, excellent lighting especially in and around water and exceptional view distance. It beats Witcher 3 in a lot of areas outside the texture quality which surprised me a lot. You can tell as well without that awful DRM the game would be quite well optimized because it uses all of my system outside of the CPU usage and subsequent drops which is a massive shame.

The inventory and loot system is the real disappointment, it is seriously **** outside of the legendary weapons. You loot an average Axe and from a rare chest get a good axe, and from papyrus puzzles which actually take time get a rare axe. Just lazy. Costumes too have been poor. I have been wearing the gold edition robes all game i want something cool its all likely a result of the in game microtransaction store so BOOOO. But i do LOVE the upgrading system, more RPG's that have leveled items need to use it.

So far it would get an 8.5 from me depending on how the main story plays it could go 0.5/1 either way.

    PROS
    - Big world. If you like discovering a game world than you will like this game. BUT! 85% of the map is empty with no sens. Of course there are a lot of locations but most of them have only weapon. Whole game is based on weapons. They are everywhere. Ubisoft just said: OK just put a lot of stupid locations to fill the map with markers which are not interesting to players.
    - Interesting story. Egypt. Nothing to say more.
-Fighting is interesting. But not cool or great. Just interesting.

    CONS
    - GTX 1070 - 40 fps. WHAT???
    - A lot of stupid markers and boring missions.
    - micro transactions. Very bad idea
    - lack of new interesting things. AC is dead. Admit it.
    - Big but empty map.
    - Dont even think do complete side missions. 90% are boring.

    SO
Ubisoft made a good game which is very far from great. It is time to create another games. Stop crating Far Cry and AC. Unless you just want to earn money. Ubisoft is not communicating with fans anymore.

I play on a PC (i7 - 4770 @ 3.4 GHz) and the usage of my processor is between 40 and 50% when I play the game in High, without killing other processes. For now this is the best game which I can play casually, aka if I have one free hour, to jump inside, explore a bit, play 1-2 quests, go out, without feeling frustrated. With the same success when I have more time I go after the main quest. I don't know what is the issue with the micro transactions. When I play i get super cool weapons, skins and enough ability points to even forget all of the skills that I got with them. No need to pay anything to get something extra. If you pLay, you will get anything you need to be a master assassin and above. ACO is enjoyable. Expand

To all saying this game runs badly, I think you're all full of it. I have been playing this game on very high with absolutely no issues with lag and I have had it locked at 60fps the whole time. There is not many bugs at launch as many people say there are. There is some climbing ones where Bayek tends to get stuck and I experienced a menu bug when the menu broke. Nothing game breakingTo all saying this game runs badly, I think you're all full of it. The story was rather enjoyable with the missions having nice pace with shocking twists in some. The whole time I was engaged and wanted to keep going.
The side quests are here with a whole load of them, but none seem like they are just there to exists and are boring. Each of them were different and varied and offered some exp rewards or loot.
The map is huge and hallucinating in the desert is fun. Exploration is more fun in this game than any of the previous in my opinion. Running through the dunes to come across a cave which turns into a tomb is great fun and adds to the overall experience.
Combat is souls like but greatly sped up with less skill required.
Loot is fun to receive but I found the deluxe pack ruined the early game as I never used any of the swords I picked up as the fang was too op.
For being in Egypt they managed to get a great amount of variety in the locations which vary from sand dunes, marsh lands, white deserts and green areas. There is never a boring moment when exploring.
There is plenty to do after the story such as the secret armour which needs the location needs to be discovered unlike older games and requires some effort to unlock even though I still rock Bayeks default outfit.
At the end of the day, I rate this a 10 as I believe it truly deserves it. The 2 years were worth it.

    P.S
The lootbox scenario is not bad as they are bought for 3k ingame money and not advertised or in your face at all.

Assassin's creed origins is an RPG. Now this is not an action adventure stealth game. ASSASSIN'S CREED ORIGINS decided to compete with The Witcher 3. The game does not even hide it. The developers also do not hide it. But I have one question: why? Assassin's creed was supposed to change in Uncharted 4. And then that would be great! Assassin's creed needs to compete with Naughty Dog, not CD Projekt RED. Assassin's creed needs to be an adventure and cinematic adventure like Uncharted 4, not overgrown and poteryavshie as textures RPG. But ASSASSIN'S CREED ORIGINS has all the elements of the genre. There is no variability of the plot and options dialogs, no consequences. The plot is linear. From an RPG we have a huge open world, combat system, lots of loot and crafting. it is a natural development of the series Assassin's creed, but I wish it was less, but more, prorabotano and cinematic.

The plot of the game is simple. And once again, we played as a character who's out for revenge. This is not a problem - he's got good reason for revenge. The story of the game consists of the gradual destruction of our goals, as it always has. Story missions interesting, made a very creative (Yes, that huge snake in the story missions). The story in ASSASSIN'S CREED ORIGINS very Mature. in it aremany drammatichnye moments. this is a very personal story. The protagonist himself Byek adult, wise, just, the protector of Egypt. this is not a frivolous guy, and see the life of a man. The plot has a few minus: 1) the Beginning of the game completely crumpled. If we were shown consecutively, as were all the carnage at the beginning would be better. 2) The End of history. At the end of the story the Bayek's wife - Aya. Yes, we also played, but to put an end to the story needs exactly the character that we control most of the game. 3) Poorly disclosed historical figures. The trailers gave the impression that we will long to spend time with Cleopatra and Caesar. But no. If Cleopatras we are a long time, Caesar just popped in for a few minutes. 3) Oren and the mysticism of ancient Egypt (I would like more mystery and hallucinations).

Additional tasks. Since this is an RPG, but a lot of them! Very much! It is good that these tasks are interesting. Not all, but most. There's no stupid "bring, bring". Each job has its own mini story. There are no dramatic level of The Witcher, but the writers have done well and some of them are memorable. although by the end of the game is a significant uniformity in the gameplay - every time you sneak into the enemy camp and to do something.

Changed combat system. She was vdohnovlaet Dark Souls and The Witcher, and the whole change came rather good than not. Now the combat system gives you a challenge. Now not easy to kill everyone by pressing a few buttons. In ASSASSIN'S CREED ORIGINS you have to plan every action. And each weapon has a different weight and the speed at which the impactors. But, for me, the combat system is not repaired until the end, it has quite a few flaws (especially the camera, which is becoming "Japanese").

The main thing in ASSASSIN'S CREED ORIGINS is Egypt. And recreated it perfectly! Let it rather monotonous (oases, similar to the city of palm trees and desert), but this is Egypt. Open world is very beautiful, the artists are great games its work. If textures are not quality, the scenery and draw distance is simply magnificent! Have a NPC has a daily routine that can help and assignments, and the simulation of life increased. The story of the characters, and those who give additional tasks can vstretil on the street. The developers have managed to fill in Egypt and it is not boring to travel.

ASSASSIN'S CREED ORIGINS is a good adventure. And a great tour of Egypt! Yes, the game was released early, she needs at least another half a year to be in development (the game has problems with animations, problems with the combat system, there are bugs). But for the game in an open world is a good result. It's not the best Assassin's creed since the story could have been done better, but this is a game that takes you in the world. I enjoyed studying all of Egypt, examined all the pyramids and performed all tasks. It is a good return after a year break. Assassin's creed has changed so much that if not the name, it can be difficult to determine what is Assassin's creed.

P.S.: PC version has performance issues. Not fatal, but need to fix. The graphics are not that great, the game was acting so unstable.

[Synopsis] - Do you remember Assassin's Creed Unity - broken as hell, bugs and glitches as far as the eye can see, released in alpha-stage of development, terrible optimisation and totally unplayable even now for most people. Remember that? Well, Assassin's Creed Origins is the same thing but set in Egypt.

I want to make it clear, although I used to be a massive Assassin's Creed fan, I did NOT buy this game, it came free with a GPU (video card) I purchased, and I would NOT have bought the game because... Ubi$oft! I loved and adored the first 4 AC games (AC and the Ezio trilogy), also Black Flag too, but then things went downhill fast and they continue to go downhill with Assassin's Creed Origins.

[Rant] - Why on earth so many idiots keep throwing money at Ubi$oft for these broken, glitchy, overpriced turds completely boggles my mind, it makes Zero sense! Ubi$oft can (when they want to) make some really great games that are amazing to play, but people keep throwing money at them with idiotic pre-orders, microtransactions and $100+ special/collectors editions, so the company has no incentive to finish a game properly or make it as good as they could. Why would they? If they've made all of their money back in pre-orders and a huge profit months before the game is even finished, why would they continue to work hard and spend more money finishing it properly, they've already made a profit to keep the CEOs' and investors happy, so why spend more money completing the game when they can save hundreds of thousands of dollars by just shipping a game 70% finished and maybe touch it up later with a patch or two when people complain that it's broken.
But, by that point, they've made even more money from normal sales, DLC and microtransactions, so they again have no real incentive to fix all of the issues, if people keep buying things you make no matter how broken and sh**ty they are, and it makes you huge profits why would you stop selling it, why would spend more time, effort and money making it better when people buy any old sh*t you give them.
For the love of everything holy... UBI$OFT ARE A BUSINESS! They only care about making money, profit margins and stock prices, not making a great video game or being friends with the customers, the developers might care but the company itself does not care, they exist to make as much money as possible from as little investments as possible, that's the definition of a business, and yet so many f***ing morons keep emptying their wallets year after year, to get bent over and shafted with no lube over and over and over by Ubi$oft. It's insane!

[Gameplay] - I can't comment because the heap of sh*t game crashes every few minutes, and not just for me, most people on my friends list are experiencing the same issues. 4 of which have filed for a refund.

[Performance] - Well, it's what you would expect from a half-finished, unoptimised, buggy Ubi$oft game with 3 layers of f**king DRM! (Denovo, VMProtect and UPlay)

    System specs:
    i7 4930k (6c 12t) @4.6GHz
    16GB RAM @2133MHz
    2x 980Ti 2-way SLI @1540MHz
Game, drivers and OS installed on SSDs', all drivers up to date
    2560x1440p resolution

Default max settings at 1440p (AA disabled):
Average framerate, below 60fps and constant dips below 30fps! It's a f**king turd of a game, plain and simple! My rig is not the newest or most powerful but it's still very capable of running every game above 60fps at 1440p max settings, and 90% of games at 4k 60fps with a few settings turned down from max. Yet, ACO runs like a 3 legged donkey... that has two of its three remaining legs broken!
Below 30fps is unacceptable and in my opinion unplayable!

[TL;DR] - The game is a turd, it's broken, unfinished, buggy, unoptimised, hobbled by 3 layers of DRM (Denovo, VMProtect and UPlay) and crashes every few minutes. it's what we've come to expect from Ubi$oft... an overpriced broken unfinished cash grab. But, thousands of morons will continue to fanboy and ignore the issues, then throw even more money at Ubi$oft, so don't expect them to release a properly finished and polished game anytime soon.

I received this game for free and yet I still feel cheated and ripped off.

This killer holiday in Egypt is definitely no boring. On the contrary, it is a pleasant excursion to the times, when the sphinx had a nose, and mysterious killers did not call themselves assassins. You cannot find a nicer version of an Ancient Egypt in any other game, and up to it it’s entertaining. A modest family story affects the whole empire at the end, and you will forgive a handful of bugs to its charismatic heroes, as well as the fact, that you have played the same pattern so many times, just in another scenery.
