Firstly, this franchise has always been at its best with ratio of graphics(at the time of development) and detailing of the game's World. The Egypt of this game is simply amazing. It is full of different casual movements, events(smaller and larger), juicy colors and with music suitable for all situations. I really liked the additional mysticism mixed with Egyptian mythology. For example the battle with the snake and the journey to the World of the Dead in DLC. Nice and interesting... the game, nevertheless, tries a little to catch the original theme of the Assassins, but doing it very sluggishly and all this passes almost idly by the player... "Ezio forgive us, we f***d it all up" ...But as I said above, in itself, like an autonomous open-world game - I liked it, for which I give 8 out of 10.
All I can say about the two DLCs is that they are not very large, but also not very short. And interesting enough. The first gives a little deeper plunge into the mythology of Egypt, and the second should reveal the history of the Assassins a little better(Would not say that much. The game focuses more on the rebellion itself than on the essence of the entire franchise). I liked more the first one.
Now about a few "negative colons":
    1) As I wrote above - there are no Assassins here. That's all, this book is closed and thrown away.
    2) Always hated over-leveling. This is just the plague of Ubisoft, when a character does not damage at all an animal that i a couple of levels above him.
    3) Damn shop. What are you doing, Judases?! In a single player game with a storyline, embedding a store with all sorts of crap?! First, buy a game to spend time in it ...and then buy an item that will shorten/speed up this time? ...Good bye logic. Although no, this is not a matter of logic, but of a disgusting desire to brazenly and openly suck money out of hamsters.

It's not Assassin's Creed. Just a boring, generic, lifeless RPG with grinding and microtransaction.

A breath of fresh-air in the AC franchise. Both the setting & characters are compelling. The gameplay mechanics are novel and well implemented. All-in-all a new and immersive experience in the AC universe.

An incredible map, good and involving history, gameplay almost perfect. I don't remember to face any bug in the game. I just loved the inclusion of the eagle on the game. I enjoy this kind of inovation in Assassin's Creed, cause, It makes each version to be unique. The system of customization and upgrade is also good, but with the past of time, it becomes wearisome.

The core concepts of gameplay could be described as a very short and average main campaign that is slowed and hindered to a halt by artificial and unintuitive grinds to keep the player invested and sometimes to encourage purchase of boosters to pass these forced limitations.

Assassin's Creed Origins - I wouldn't say bad or a lot of bugs. The story of the game itself is a real rather immersive game with impressive details and atmosphere and an era throughout Egyptian times. When it comes to the characters, not everyone is impressive of course we see Cleopatra and the other royal characters in the game, but they don’t feel so real. The look of the main character is really fresh and cool, but speaking now of the bugs in the game in my opinion it would say the same sounding and I don't really know how to describe any description of the cutscene and other action that takes place in such a semi-cringe and generally dumb some dialogue now when it comes to sounding it doesn’t feel so real and sensual so very cheap and cardboard. Now when it comes to characters yet there aren't very many different characters sometimes it seems that during Side missions not only the same characters but during the same Story missions you can notice that sometimes it seems that the same character models only change hair and weight. You can even mix for yourself what the character might be here. Is It Worth Playing Side Missions? In my opinion, I think so, but not all because sometimes it’s even boring because hearing the same similar dialogue just changes the situation. explaining Side’s missions are four or a few other topics related to kidnappings, murders, thefts and so on, but not so much and interesting. Now when it comes to Story Missions, are they really that great and exciting? I don’t really think because it just changes the situation and the theme itself doesn’t change because you mostly kill enemies in the game. The design of the game itself really likes to feel so Egyptian such as: game menu, clothes, style, logic, map and so on. What I find many annoyed is the same destruction game because you have somewhere to ruin your level so you can play other missions where you will be required to have a high level because if the other enemy will have a higher level than you and you need to kill it it will take quite a while and nerves as many die. This would suggest many to try the game for those who love Open World themes and ancient Egyptian times. Personally, I was most interested in the game with its atmosphere and more logic, cities and lots of detailed locations. I dedicate myself to this game 8/10. Sorry for bad English ! Expand

How can your ruin assassinations in an Assassin's creed game?
It has a forgettable plot, and somewhat great characters.

Truth be told, it's an amazing open world with so many layers to it. There isn't a better feeling than climbing the pyramid for the first time. Just seeing the view is worth it.

I would probably really like the game if it didn't have "Assassin's Creed" in the title. Cause that is not what this game is.
They force the assassin side of the story in to the third act, and other than that it has nothing to do with it. It is, as the hundreds of other people has said, a "witcher 3 clone"

At the same time the Ubisoft-team gives you the solution to the grind in terms of ingame micro transactions.

To be honest they killed the franchise arguably with the fifth game (AC 3), where they dropped / killed Desmond and the intriguing real time story line. Since that point Assassin's Creed is stagnating. Instead of going the Hitman route with accidental kills, poison or disguises ( a real stealth game), we get half-baked RPG garbage. With the exception of AC 4 Black Flag which was a great game in itself (sea faring / ship game), each new iteration gets worse.

    neutral:

    beautiful but empty open world

    con:

Denuvo and the corresponding performance issues

A far cry game with a different skin

A huge grind of experience and equipment to solve the main questline.

Badly written plot and poorly implemented

    Repetitive quests / questdesign

    Mediocre itemisation of the equipment

    The male protagonist was wooden

The female character and interpretative the writers of this game (like all activists in the gaming industry) do have an inferiority complex. Instead of properly building the game, they created a new real time story line with two lesbians that could improve the animus to seemingly perfection. I guess the biggest company and at the same time shadow world government couldn't handle the lesbian wamen developing power. The same applies to the animus Egypt story, where the female protagonist created a huge information and support network out of nowhere. Like Doctor Who, Star Trek or Star Wars the hijack fails miserably. But at the same time each and every time they try to make the lore their property. Like in this case the first "real" assassins and the "origin" of them.

They don't feel repetitive at all. I rarely have the urge to play side quests in most games, because they feel like fillers, but the side quests in Origins feel organic. They have good cutscenes and dialogue that make you feel like it ties in with the main quest. The mini plot in the side quests are interesting too.

At first, the controls were really weird. Shoulder buttons were the main action buttons, but once I switched it to the alternate controls, it was much better. The combat is more difficult since there isn't any parry prompts, but it's still very playable. Stealth isn't as free as it was. Enemies are more aware, but you get an eagle that you can summon to scout the entire area. This was a very nice addition since it allowed the player to manually recon the place, instead of having the points of interest shown automatically.

The narrative is my favorite. The relationship between Bayek and Aya is heart felt. You care about their cause, and want to fight for it. It's also very interesting how the story tells how the Assassin Brotherhood formed. All the other characters are good too. Very interesting death scenes, where you get to know the true intentions and thoughts of the templars. There are plenty of cinematics and dialogues in this game, which add so much to the narrative. I also loved the monologues from Bayek, as it added to his personality.

If you like open world adventure games, you can't miss Origins. This is the best in that genre I've ever played.

The combat is really repetitive and the bow is way too OP. The leveling system leads you to farm XP on for the most part, really boring, long repetitive missions. The tombs are really fun and the main missions are enjoyable. Expand

I loved the setting, I am a huge fan of Egyptian history, and location wise was amazing.

The story was magnificent and the voice actor who did Bayek is by far one of the best voice actors I've heard in a long time. I can feel every time when he was passionated about his son and his desire to make a change and this speaks a lot through the writing of the story. I don't wanna spoil the game as it is worth playing 100%. It does feel like you're something else than an Assassin until the very end when you form the Brotherhood and you play the Hidden Ones DLC.

The Hidden Ones despite being a very short DLC, it felt like a pure blessing and a return to the true origin of the game, I finally felt I am part of a creed and I am working to build it. I honestly enjoyed it.

On the other hand, The Curse of the Pharaoh was interesting and beautiful settings, but it really disconnected me from the real world that was presented in the game and I honestly made me not enjoy it so much. It's not that it isn't good, but I feel the game becomes a little too SCFI for my own taste when it comes to Assassin's Creed. It makes sense for me the alien race to contact you through the whole process, but it felt like it makes no sense for magic and mythical beings to exist in the same time of the Egyptian period when Bayek was around. It just had a werid twist, but never the less, an interesting experience.

Last but not least, the game had this Exploration system that allows you to learn about Ancient Egypt, Rome and Greek, which was amazing. I loved it.

In conclusion, the game is worth playing 100% and I can't stress this enough how much I enjoyed it. I am glad I spend this amount of time to finish it as I really like the franchise and I look forward to seeing what the next Assassin's Creeds have to offer.

Both the open world and the combat system have seen massive improvements over previous titles. The story keeps you interested most of the time. I'm personally stoked for Odyssey, but that's mainly because I take a deep interest in ancient Greece.

The only downside to me is the poor optimization, the FPS drops a lot around majors cities

I have always been a big fan of the AC franchise. After being out of the loop of playing games (school) I decided to get back to playing AC. I made the mistake of playing Odyssey before Origins. I thought it would make a big difference and at first it was. I missed the Spartan kick and a few other things but all in all it was not noticeable. I give the game a solid 8.

Game forces you to do these because main quests don't give you enough xp in order to do the next one. That's when the game starts to bore you and it becomes a chore after that. To me, its biggest flaw was the writing. It's so very cliche and flavourless, teenage-level writing at times. It prevented me from feeling truly involved in the universe, and after 40 hours of dedicated quest-solving (as I usually do), I found myself feeling like I didn't wanna do the side-quests anymore, as they are really all the same and the poor writing and dialogues just fail to compel you to do them. "Go fetch me stuff", "bandits kidnapped my brother", "meet me there and go kill these guys" quests. A tiny handful of them are slightly better and more immersive, but they eventually all lead to killing a bunch of guys.
Also, I think Ubisoft could use a bit more boldness in their writing. Cliche moral how-you-should-think lessons are everywhere. Men and women are exactly equal in every way, thieves are just nice people who want to feed their families, bad guys are selfish xenophobic and/or mysoginistic to the extreme, nice guys are selfless, love everyone with such deep passion and connection... It gets tiresome. Force-feeding eventually only leads to barfing. Just write a story Ubi, and let us think how we want to think. Just this would make dialogues, story, flavour texts,... much better for many of us.
I thought its biggest strength lied in its environments. The game is gorgeous, exploration feels nice just because of it. Rather it is the cities or the nature areas, it's very pretty, the sights are top tier.
    Music is great.
Fights are nice, ask for a bit of learning. Bayek of Siwa, the main character eaten alive and defined by his grief and his desire for vengeance, is charismatic and a good AC character. Although his character is not very "deep", we still feel empathy for him and enjoy playing as him, his voice-actor nailed it too. The stealth/assassin mechanics are still there, still fun, still work just fine.

Overall, and I'm sorry to probably be the millionth guy to make this comparison, I'm sorry to say that despite its strengths, after a game like The Witcher 3, this game feels rather bland. Don't get me wrong, it's still fun, still nice, still badass, but if you expect an immersive world, story, dialogues, quests, this might just not cut it. AC Origins just got a grip on the bar that The Witcher 3 has set for open-world games, but doesn't set itself at the same level, it just... hangs on it, awkwardly at times.

But as I said, fun game still, newcomers to the gaming world or young gamers might love it.

The gameplay looks interesting at the beginning, but then you realise there isn't much to do a part from killing a bunch of enemies or look for some items.
The side quests are more of the above and boring to the point that after 20 hours I started to skip them all.
The main story is a huge pile of **** garnished with many historic errors and fantasies, all due to the feminist propaganda they forced into the game. I am no AC fan, I've played the Original, 2, brotherhood, Revelations, 3, Black Flag and this game and it felt a bit off for an AC game. I am just a casual, but the open world, while amazing and a great new take on the AC game-play, I just got bored after exploring the whole map and collecting the amount of collectibles in the game were a tad bit tedious. I loved exploring ancient Egypt, and I loved Bayek and Amulets characters, but it just felt like the same old Templar Vs Assassins plot I have seen before, but the origins of their fight. I wish that the stealth and combat was more refined because I felt like I was just holding buttons, and the weapons were the same, but with level restrictions and typical RPG elements.

I'll give it a 7/10. I liked the new take on Origins game-play and I loved exploring Ancient Egypt as an Assassin, but the plot fell short in some areas for me, then again, I only payed little attention to the AC plot since 4.

Ubisoft get a lot of criticism and a lot deserved. Where you can't fault them is the attention to details in regard to historical worlds they set their games in and this one is no exception, arguably their best.

The story was interesting enough to see me complete it, isn't going to win any awards for the story but it's what I would just describe as "good" nothing overly special but nothing bad either. the side quests/activities ranged from pretty good to flat out boring sometimes, the boring ones being the very standard fetch quest of "get me something" there's nothing inherently wrong with fetch quests as the witcher 3 proved with the right narrative behind them they can be good. But here, for the most part, it's not as inventive. I'd say for every 10 side quests you do.. probably 3 at tops 4 will be good while the others are very bland and forgettable but again "good enough" to make you keep doing them.

The running theme for the story and side content as you may have noticed is "good enough" nothing in the game related to story or quests is overly special but nothing where you think "this is too boring" or "I don't want to play anymore" for me where it shines most is the world you get to explore and the combat.. some people don't like the combat but I loved it! I really enjoyed looting for new weapons to try out and the combat felt very satisfying and badass! and a cool feature is if you love a particular weapon you can take it to a blacksmith to upgrade it's level to your level so you never have to leave it behind though it comes at a costly price in terms of the price it actually costs to upgrade I kept my poison sickle throughout the whole game though so not much of a problem.

Why I gave this game an 8 and not a 9 (i very rarely ever give 10's unless it's an actual benchmark masterpiece) is because of 2 reasons.. 1, I feel the story and side quests weren't amazing.. they were good some even really good but nothing Witcher 3 kind of level. and 2 I felt the performance on PC wasn't amazing, nothing unplayable but I have a high-end PC and was still experiencing judders and frame drops and EVEN a bit of screen tearing at times on its full settings. but again nothing unplayable just has to be mentioned and it wasn't constant. But it certainly affected my experience and therefore the score.

DLC was really good especially Curse of the pharaohs which was actually one of my favourite parts of the entire game (picked it up on sale on steam with the DLC I recommend doing so if you can)

overall if you love the idea of an assassins creed game (the modern RPG style ones) in an ancient Egypt/Roman setting then you will really like this game and it's not even a question to buy it. If you are on the fence where you like the setting and idea of the game but aren't a massive AC fan then wait for it to be on sale as I got it for 8 pounds (about 10 dollars) and I think at that it's worth the risk to even sceptical people to try out. for me 8/10 I recommend highly.

After the huge success RPG games have lately made Ubisoft is ready to completely disconnect new AC games from its original game structure and shove a RPG mechanics inside a game that was based on social stealth.

The difficulty of the game is heavily based on your character's level, even when being overleveled you are still matched with damage-sponge enemies. Stealth approach is completely changed, assassinations can no longer kill enemies which is ironic for a game called Assassins Creed. Map is overwhelming and its locations are repeated more than enough with the exception of few camps and tombs that are connected to side quests.

As hinted in the title the story is about the origins of AC, yet there is very little about it and its complete story is in a DLC. The main game is focused more on the main character's journey which is another typical revenge plot but for an AC game his story is actually interesting enough to follow to the very end.

There are plenty of side quests of wildly varying quality. Many are some of the most boring side quests I've ever done, but I've found some side quests which have very interesting stories and characters. I'm hesitant to do the side quests since I don't know if I'm in for another slog or an actually interesting experience.

I also have mixed feelings about the story. Without spoiling anything, all I can say is that you can find interesting stuff in the story, but it is definitely not a strong point. I found a lot of the story to be quite boring, only sporadically keeping my attention.

It might seem strange that I love Odyssey but am on the fence on Origins; but I genuinly believe that there is a huge improvement in Odyssey even though both games seem incredibly similar. Origins suffers from less interesting combat, story and characters, but is still not horrible.

I also got a higher frame rate in Odyssey despite its better graphics. Odyssey offers a beautiful vision of ancient Greece, compared to which the ancient Egypt of Origins looks drab.

I think they should've set the game during the New Kingdom (1549–1069 BC) when Egypt was at the height of its power, rather than in the twilight period of 1st century BC. Ancient Egypt had a very distinctive, highly refined visual and architectural style, but the Egypt of Origins is quite boring-looking most of the time. The great potential of Egypt as a setting for a game is wasted in Origins.

Bayek is an okay but not great player chacacter, but his wife was superfluous and shouldn't have been in the game, in my opinion. Overall, Origins is a disappointing experience.

Story is ok, but nothing special at all

    Side Quests
    -----------
Oh man...90% stupid quests that lack any creativity. Very sad compared to Witcher 3. Most quests are like "go there, kill all bandits" or "go there, escort/free someone".

    Combat
    ------
Combat is mediocre, not very complex, annoying sound effects, annoying slow motion effects, extremely repetetive, limited enemy movesets

The climbing mechanics are quite fun.

This game lacks true emotions, feels like a mainstream Hollywood movie. It was clearly not made with love. It was made with a "good enough" objective.

Cities look very good, but NPCs keep saying the same phrase over and over and most houses you cannot enter. You cannot even open doors. Very annoying and cheap.

I bought it for 13 Euros and that's ok. But please, don't be fooled by the good graphics. This game is unfortunately mediocre. It is not bad, but not good either.

How does it compare to Witcher 3? Maybe it's 50% of it, it is just to boring and repetetive.

How does it compare to Dark Souls 3? Combat is a joke compared to Souls Games. It totally lacks compexity and is always the same button mashing.

Ubisoft, next time you make a smaller open world with a better story, better quests and better combat. Improve your quality!

After all I somehow enjoyed it, but it is quite a lackluster game.

I would say the game didnt provide enough motivation for me to continue.

From this work, I can see that Ubisoft wants to add new things to the gameplay and push the game to a new level. This game is overall good at the beginning, but players will feel repetitive sooner or later. The second DLC is extremely good, especially the map designs and graphics.

Gameplay is cool, took series in a new direction.
Side quests are boring and repetitive and there's too much useless content.
Didn't give the slightest **** about the story.
Giving it a 4 cause it was playable.

A nice change from the old games, making it more soulslike but talking the Assassins Creed stealth not as important as before. The main issue is the drop in fps, I have a 1080Ti, and I cant get more than 40 stable fps

Wonderful experience from beginning to end: surprisingly varied and beautiful environments, smooth gameplay (stealth, parkour, combat) and a nice, fitting story to boot. It's very easy to get lost in the game world since it's so immersive.

Adding RPG elements to the series was a good move, but adding the level limits to area, essentially forcing you into linear progressions and/or lots of grind does not sit well with me. The story is quite interesting, one of the best in the franchise, although not the most original.
Inclusion of the discovery mode definitely propels this into good games territory. (this is free on uplay as

It will either be a hit or miss. For me, the new setting is refreshing. The game is MASSIVE witharound 50 main missions and more than a hundred hundred side quests to complete. The side quests werent repetitive. The open world is incredibly well detailed. The combat was decent if not great like that of sekiro. The stealth gameplay has been improved as well. Origins is a wannabe open world RPG with an uninteresting storyline, boring side quests, forgettable characters and an annoying forced level grind to top the dissatisfaction off and encourage time-saving microtransactions on its badly optimized single player game. It might have beautiful graphics, impressive sceneries and somehow okay combat, but that is not enough.

Could have been so much better if it wouldn't be so damn repetitive and boring. I just wanted to enjoy a interesting story but instead it's a huge grind fest with boring side missions I had to do because the main quest line required a certain level. It just felt like work instead of a fun game. On the other hand the graphics are really nice and I also liked it's setting.

Aside from really bad optimization (as always), I would prefer good quests and writing, instead of massive world. It becomes boring to ride so long. Grinding is a very big problem. I do not want to do boring and repetitive side quests for so many hours just to progress 1% in the story. Level system is complete garbage. How come I cant complete a quest without battling someone? When I first played I was definitely pleased with the direction they are taking with the series. This is a pretty good assasin's creed. Environment is great to look at, graphics are good, but the story, just isn't interesting. The characters aren't that memorable besides the protaganist. But the missions are still fun and gameplay is great. Had no graphical errors on PC or crashes. OverallWhen I first played I was definitely pleased with the direction they are taking with the series. A lot of grinding to get that one armor or weapon that hours of playing bring, and totally worth it !
Great story of a character and a great introduction to the Creed...
Too bad Odyssey wasn`t a game with a focus on Aya or Bayek, really enjoyed Origins....

This killer holiday in Egypt is definitely no boring. On the contrary, it is a pleasant excursion to the times, when the sphinx had a nose, and mysterious killers did not call themselves assassins. You cannot find a nicer version of an Ancient Egypt in any other game, and up to it it’s entertaining. A modest family story affects the whole empire at the end, and you will forgive a handful of bugs to its charismatic heroes, as well as the fact, that you have played the same pattern so many times, just in another scenery.

Ubisoft Montreal managed to make Egypt not only beautiful, but extremely atmospheric. When you’re admiring the city and a mounted patrol rushes past you, you always get that urge to step aside to avoid getting trampled, even though you know you can eviscerate them all in a blink of an eye.
