    Hello,

Anthem is just the only video game that made me feel so thrilled with a gameplay that is really sublime, clearly if you are a fan of Iron Man and SF this game is for you.

The game puts us in control of a combat armor on vitamins in a hostile region your goal and reduce to crumbs threats that hover over your city "Fort Tarsis"
on the border of your civilization.

The universe is rich, you could discover it by are written in many codices or through various discussions with NPCs.
These discussions may be interesting but it tends to slow down the pace of your adventures to see if you want to know the last gossip of Fort Tarsis.

    CONS:
    - The game lacks optimization on the use of your PC's resources
    - Currently in exploration / Libre mode the content is somewhat boring but it should be improved through the different updates scheduled in ROAD MAP 2019
    - An improvement of the menu and various functionality of the multiplayer is necessary to make the game more fluid
    - A poor in-game store
    - More End game content through the dungeons (after I do not want to throw the stone on them because a majority comes to this contented with a destiny ...)

    PROS:
    - A huge graphic customization of the armor
    - A gameplay in the action phase very well thinking and really thrilling notice to the WARFRAME fan
    - An open world that holds the road (ff15 and warframe if you hear me)
    - A lore really very push and interesting to discover through anecdote and other history that make us discover a dangerous world
    - A roadmap that starts a week after the release of the game here looks really good, and it ensures content until the end of the year

The reviews are also negative I think because the bioware fan expects a massfect while bioware to announce a warframe in the open world.

It really meets the expectations of players who want a good action game sf.

It's rare that I'm happy with a day one game, but I was able to play all the armor and they all have their charm that allows you to have a really colorful fight.

I hope that my criticism will enlighten you on a game that deserves to be discovered.

    Sincerely,

    Wolf Hunt's

P.S: I wanted to put 10 but we can always improve and even if I fell in love with the game I'm not blind so far.

However this game is at AAA pricing and took 5+ years in development and my response to their sentiment is simply No...if a publisher releases a game at full AAA price the game should meet its potential at launch. It's like releasing a Marvel Movie with 60% of the CGI finished and saying ..."It's only JUST being released, {movies} like this u have to give time" after you paid full price for it already...Not acceptable, glad i only paid for the trial. This game is definitely not bad and people giving it negative reviews are just bitter that Bioware's A team made this instead of Mass Effect Andromeda. However, Anthem is also painfully average - so average, in fact, that I can't even be bothered to write a detailed review. So to sum it up, here's a list of pros and cons.

    Pros:
    - looks gorgeous
    - flying feels exhilarating, at least for the first few hours
    - good controls
    - good sound design
    - technically competent
    - the javelins are cool
    - it's better than Fallout 76

    Cons:
    - gets boring real fast
    - repetitive missions (fly from point A to point B, shoot stuff for a bit, collect stuff, go back to the hub, do it all over again)
    - attempts to build a unique world with rich lore but ends up feeling generic and pretentious
    - long loading times
    - has none of the Bioware storytelling magic we're used to

That's about it. Anthem doesn't deserve the hate it's getting, as it's a decently made game. The only problem is that there's not really much to do in it, and what little there is gets boring quickly. It has a lot of potential and it could've been a great singleplayer game. It really just feels like someone took the better parts of what was meant to be Mass Effect Andromeda, and turned it into a separate title. Obviously there's space for improvement and I'm sure more content will be released eventually, but right now Anthem's just not worth it. Buy it when it's on sale and after they've inevitably released some major DLC.

Gra nie jest idealna i potrzebuje:
    - PVP
    - Więcej rodzajów broni
    - Możliwość upgradu specjalnego ataku... Dopieszczenie go do swojego stylu gry

-The background lore and story setting is AMAZING, but is entirely undelivered on by any of the current quests. I was dumbfounded by how shallow the delivered story was given the incredible wealth of background lore they gave. It is nothing close to herioc
-The loot system is shallow, obtrusive, and insulting. If you want anything interesting, "GIVE US MORE MONEY". 90% of the items you receive are trash and fail to have any useful statistics
-The UI (on the PC) is garbage. You can dig through piles of menus and find nothing. It is bloated and clunky beyond belief.
    - The sound breaks 50% of the time I load a new screen, which is OFTEN.
-Loading screens are abysmal. With the installation on a SSD, I spend nearly equal times in the loading screens and playing a mission.
-More on loading. The "home" area is split between 3 different areas. WHY? And WHY are there loading screens between them.

Everything about this game just feels wrong. They had fantastic combat, a great background story and lore, great graphics and animation, and then flopped the execution. This BARELY deserves a 2.

Many reviews that i have read on this title mention the beautiful environment, but dont give it much more credit than that.

See Bioware have gone out in a completely different direction with this game way out of their comfort zone and have and gone for a loot shooter with a twist. this is not their usual format and i think that should count for something. Sure the game has a few issues (none of which i would consider to be deal breakers) such as the loot requiring tweaks (now patched), one or two balance issues, and widening the mission variety a little more.

After around 20 hours play, i have found the following.

Characters are well designed and movement is fluid, battle mechanics are done well with no awkward judder or restrictive movement. however weapons sometimes feel a little under powered compared to the enemies that i am facing,
Flight mechanics work well and are responsive, and the customization options add a nice touch to your character.

The main story in the game is interesting and provides the immersion that i am used to receiving from Bioware titles, and plenty of spin off story arcs as well as in game lore exist which is another staple of Bioware Games.

from a performance perspective this game appears to be well optimized, i obtain 70-80fps consistently on ultra quality at 4k which given the levels of detail in the game is outstanding.

Finishing up, i see real promise in this title, if you have not yet played the game due to launch day reviews, i urge you to give it a try, it really is not as bad as the launch day reviews would have you believe, it does have a few niggles, but certainly no more than any other AAA game that releases these days and i would add that the niggles are far fewer than most titles that have launched in the last 12 months.

if you try it and like it, come back here and leave your own thoughts for others to read, and lets make sure that BioWare are given the credit that they deserve so that they can continue to make great games for years to come.

Game play is fun and fluid, playing with a full group of friends also makes it more enjoyable, the different Javelins feel and play different from one another wich is great, if you ever go from playing the Interceptor to the Colossus you really feel the weight that Javelin has.

There is plenty of lore to get through, ranging from collectables that get added to the Cortex (an in game encyclopedia almost), side conversations in the fort, both with you interacting with NPCs or from just passing by and listening into their conversations.

The main story has a couple of moments where it catches the player off guard and the ending is satisfactory and provides closure to the narrative provided while leaving room for what is coming next.

The dreaded microtransactions seem pretty fair and are cosmetic only as well as you being able to acquire everything with in game currency too, wich if you do the challenges and daily/weekly/monthly quests you will have more than enough.

Most people complain about issues that are no longer an issue with the game, they were patched on launch day. Things such as the loading screens, these on a regular hard drive are around 20 seconds right now, wich is well within tolerance. This is not to say that there are no bugs or areas to improve but so far the developers have been very transparent, responsive and took action swiftly to fix any game breaking bugs or mechanics.

Road maps have been revealed, couple that with free DLC/Expansions and the actors being back in the "recording booth" for extra content already and that shows a lot of promise.

People also compare this to WarFrame... What they forget is that WarFrame was utter crap in the early days, it’s had years of development to get to where it’s at today. And to this I’ll get reply’s like “so we should just be ok with releases that aren’t complete?” Are you kidding me, a game like this if done right won’t be “complete” for a very long time. Look at games like WoW and Elders Scrolls Online... Now I know this isn’t an MMO, but it’s MMO like in the essence that it has plans for a long support frame. New content, constant updates, all that good stuff that will make the game more and more complete over time. Honestly, the game has it’s issues, but they’ve already shown that they are putting in the effort to fix them, many things fixed in the course of less than a week! To me that shows a developer who cares about making a great game, and shows great promise for the future.

    TLDR:
The game has issues, it’s not perfect, but it’s constantly getting fixes at a very fast pace. And the gameplay is fantastic. I’ve pumped 50+ hours into the game already and have loved every minute of it! Getting better gear and upping the difficulty level has kept some excitement in the moment to moment fights. I look forward to seeing how this game progresses :)

the core game play in Anthem is like nothing Ive ever played. Fast pace is an understatement. they nailed the iron man feeling. the 4 classes (Javelins) you can play as all feel extremely different.
playing with a Storm vs. playing with a Ranger is nearly 2 different games.

The Story, well i liked it. is it on the same level as a single player game? No.

is it as good if not better then the other games in the genre. Yeah, i would say so.

in my opinion there are 3 types of people that are reviewing this game poorly.

1- Those who hate Loot Pursuit games.
and for good reason they just don't like this type of game and that's fine.

2- Reviewers that wanted to get a review out ASAP, and rushed through the game in 2 days.
Yeah, i would hate a game too if i played it for 60 hours straight.

3- People who expected a Story driven loot pursuit game, and are disappointed that its not that.
Which is also a perfectly fine reason, However i never remember that being part of the pitch from the developers, but i could be wrong.

Anyways, my opinion on Anthem is, it's a beautiful work of art, that has me hooked like no game has in about 5 years. The game play is addicting, the Story is interesting, the world is unique, and i can tell how much Bio-ware cares about this game
my head says, "Okay, its fun but it has some flaws, give it a 8 or 9 at the most."

But, when a game is able to bring me back to the days of staring at the clock waiting until i can go home and play it, and that felling of " Okay, just one more" at 2 A.M. How can i not say that this game is a 10? ........ FOR ME.

I have 30 hrs in the game, near max level. I have been relatively "no-lifeing" it. The story is great, about 3-5 days of the story while "no-lifeing" it. if you played it casually.. most likely over a week of story. When I first played the enemies would not load into the areas and would deal damage to me, sort of like a ghost hitting me. Loading screens were a big problem, but after II have 30 hrs in the game, near max level. I have been relatively "no-lifeing" it. Loading screens were a big problem, but after I uninstalled and reinstalled on my SSD everything was good, quick loading screens and no more "ghost soldiers". Back to the story, even after you complete it is left open-ended... meaning more story WILL come out for it. After the story, you will grind Agent missions / Contracts / Strongholds / Freeplay Events. You can replay missions with friends. This game is made for people who are willing to put the time in, there is a large challenge too which you'll need to play the game consistently. Again, I've been waiting for this game for a while, I do not think its a waste of money, more so people have a negative view of EA coming into the game, which I get. At the end of the day you will either be an Anthem Fan or not, not much more to be said. This game was meant for a select group, those who enjoy Squad Action Adventure games will like this, again I know there were problems. I've been playing since Beta and since the 15th of Feb. An SSD helped me, or they could have updated it too within that time. None the less If you would like a game that you can play by yourself or squad-up in, this is it. If not move on and don't ruin the true fan's experience of this game. Expand

There have been many games that have had problems at launch and have came back phenomenally and thats what I am hoping for. The thing is though, I havent really experienced and game breaking bugs, lag or rubber banding, cut scene mishaps etc etc. My game has ran well. The developers have laid out a great road map and seem to be listening to the community which is fantastic. The game still has its flaws though like no chat client, bad UI, not currently supporting SLI ( devs confirmed its coming though), and not much variety in player or weapon cosmetics. Weapon variety is just thin all around.

Everything I just mentioned kind of fades away though as soon as I start flying around in my Javelin. The game play is veeeery fun, the graphics are gorgeous, I think the sound design is good, the sound track is great, and playing with friends makes it all the more worth while. I did recommend this to my friends who were not interested and they saw me playing it a bunch so they took a chance and they enjoy it too. It was a solid purchase.

Anthem is a looter-shooter made by Bioware. Coming on the heels of other major successful franchises, like Dragon Age and Mass Effect, there were enormous expectations laid on this all-new IP.

In Anthem, you play as The Freelancer, a man (or woman) who is suited up in a powerful javelin exosuit – basically a suit of power armor similar to what Iron Man wears. You can fly, you can hover, and you can unleash powerful abilities like rocket launchers or lightning blasts.

This is a really cool power fantasy, and the game actually delivers quite well on the core experience – you zoom around through the sky in a very satisfying manner, you land with a satisfying clunk, you blow up enemies with powerful explosions or lay into them with potent weapons. This is all pretty good, and the game as a whole is very pretty (even if the environments are limited to three or four major types).

The game has four main suit types – the generic middle-of-the-road Ranger, the pseudo-mage Storm, the agile Interceptor, and the huge stomping colossus. Each of them has a different ability set and plays differently – the Storm hovers around the battlefield, while the Interceptor dodges very rapidly and the Colossus stomps around and uses a shield instead of dodging. All of them feel pretty satisfying to play, and they all have their own distinctive abilities and playstyle.

The core of the plot starts out reasonably – you are one of only two survivors of an expedition into The Heart of Rage, a Cataclysm caused by an out-of-control artifact left behind by the Shapers, a race of neglectful precursors who tried (and failed) to harness the Anthem of creation and all left (or died) long ago, leaving their artifacts behind to periodically explode. It is up to the Freelancers to stop this, but after the Heart of Rage, they’re scattered and dispirited.

You, as The Freelancer, try to rebuild the reputation of the Freelancers while protecting Fort Tarsis, a walled town near the still-raging cataclysm. You get missions around town from the various major factions – the remaining Freelancers, the Arcanists (scientists who study shaper relics), the Sentinels (basically the police/army), and Corvus (a spy agency that works for your government), trying to make things better. Most of the plot of the game is consumed with trying to get back into the Heart of Rage to silence the relic that is causing the disaster, but there are a number of side missions with the various side factions which help them to accomplish their own goals – finding various artifacts and scrolls, hunting down outlaws who are ambushing people, saving people who had gone missing due to mishaps with the artifacts.

None of this is particularly remarkable – the main plot is merely serviceable, and also feels like some parts of it were cut out due to time constraints (or excessive numbers of bugs), and the side quests are of similar quality (though more coherent, if slightly lower budget in terms of cutscenes). While the actual plot is unremarkable, the various characters you deal with around town are interesting enough, and have solid voice acting and are reasonably fun to talk to, even if a few of them regurgitate their life stories out onto your boots at the slightest provocation.

All in all, the core of this game is reasonably competent – the gameplay is fun, and the plot is mediocre but with some reasonable character moments. There’s some enemy variety, from your standard dudes with guns to enemies in the various types of exosuits you use to gigantic titans which send out waves of fire at you, but it runs kind of thin by the end, and there’s only about six types of boss in the entire game, plus a couple other elite enemy types to mix things up.

But at the same time, it is a game that is really hard to recommend, because I’m really not sure whether the people who made it ultimately had a cohesive vision for how it should be, and how to keep players engaged. The game ultimately runs out of things to show you before it runs out of gameplay, and while at its present length (about 30 hours of content) it is reasonable, it still felt a bit lacking in variety by the end. Once you get to the end, you run out of content entirely, and there’s little value in sticking around – and yet, this is somehow a Games as a Service game, which intends to dribble and drabble out content over the course of months.

And the game is quite buggy; while the patches have made it better, it still has some real issues.

All in all, I liked Anthem, as did a number of its players. I definitely had fun playing it, even if it was frustrating at times. But if bugs bother you, this game will absolutely enrage you, and the game is only "good enough", not exceptional.

    Original Review------
All I can say is i'm enjoying playing the game, the combat is fun and the world is a nice size and looks amazing. There are so many javelin build options and different loadouts can be saved which keeps me wanting to try different play styles. So far I cant see why the game has such a low score. Yes there are things that can be improved like some of the UI and tweaks to the loot but these so far for me have been far from game breaking and things they have said they are working on to get the balance right.

i've probably got about 50 hours in so far of mostly solo play and still feel like I have allot of hours left to play. Also during that 50+ hours I've had 1 audio glitch and lost connection once which is no where near as bad as other games I own that no one moans about. Allot of bad reviews seem to be from when the game was in early access and the game has had allot of patches since then and the team seem to be hot on updates.

There have also been many suggestions from the community that they have liked and want to implement in updates, so the game has even more to look forward to. I just think its sad that most games have big day one patches and patches after release to fix issues and they dont get loads of crap about it but for some reason everyone seems to be wanting to jump on the hate train for EA and Bioware.

Just to add as well about the hate train, which is happening, I have watched allot of youtube videos which have been full of hate for things that had already been patched before their video was
even made, or things that are not true and just internet rumours stating they are fact with no sources to back it up.

The fort is quite nice to see the different people. Customization is extremely deep with both javelin loadouts and fashion. The only thing they need to add in my opinion is more content. The controls are pretty solid, takes a bit of getting used to, but are quite good once you get used to them. The music is phenomenal and the art design is top tier. Expand

Like another complex multiplayer game, have some bugs, but it's funny how we can spend more than 50 hours in a game with a score like this. Destiny 2 got a avarage of 8.5 of critics and 3.0 of users...
I played thousand hours on destiny 1,2 and the division, the most valuable similar anthem games. Anthem is in right direction.

Anthem is a great game for those who enjoy the looter shooter genre. You didn't come here to hear detailed analysis that you've already heard 100 times over. Let's get down to it.

    Pros:
-The combat is punchy and difficult. At times it can feel extremely hectic and disorienting, but pulling off those combos and last minute evades is what separates the Freelancers from the Sentinels.

-The story is actually interesting. This story is not the most deep dive into a narrative as some other bioware classics, but it is engaging and the cinematic scenes are well shot, and well animated.

-As you continue through the game (as many reviewers would know IF they actually played the game) you get to watch Fort Tarsis grow, become more populated, and hear and feel the sounds of a bustling city. It's a rewarding experience

-Each of the four available classes feels unique, and has a distinct purpose in team composition. The build diversity available allows for memorable team synergy

-FashionForge is on point. Some of THE best player character customization out there in any third person game. You don't even have to pay for color palettes.

-The flight system is just plain fun. The combat is fun. It's just fun

    Cons:
-As of the official release, there is a distinct lack of mission variety in regards to your contracts. Your quests and agent contracts, however, do help to breathe new life into the repetition of these mission types.

-Optimization is poor. If you don't have a good system, don't expect to get past the medium settings pre set

-There are still occasional audio bugs. I believe this is related to the newest nvidia driver (as it happened to me after updating) but can't confirm.

Honorable mentions and things to remember:
-Load times have been reduced by 25-30% in the full release (per angry joe himself)

-No one has reached the true end game of anthem. It simply isn't possible. While it may be true that there isn't a lot of original content at end game, no one has reached the highest possible loot tier. Don't trust people who tell you otherwise.

-Masterwork and Legendary gear is unique (many reviewers would know this well if they'd bother to get past uncommon gear score)

    In Summary:
Anthem is a blast to play solo or with friends. When you're killing trash mobs, it's a god simulator. When you're fighting legendary and elite enemies, it's a challenging and harrowing experience. The only times anything except your enemy's shield should feel like a bullet sponge is if you don't know how to play the game. This game isn't perfect, and if had launched with some additional content, and many more QOL changes regarding technical issues, I would be able to give it a higher score. I imagine in a week or two, it will easily be an 8. I'm hoping we get there, and keep on going up.

    Strong Alone, Stronger Together.

If you're coming into Anthem for a third-person shooter with some pretty decent mechanics, then you'll have fun. In this case it's like Destiny, where you could blast through the story, then not have much to do until the next set of content came out. Having played Anthem since the launch on Origin Access Premier last week, these are my thoughts on how Anthem lives up to the hype and hate for those who care about my simple opinion that is.

    Economy:
Microtransactions have been a black eye on the gaming industry for a while now but BioWare seems to walk the tightrope here. Currency consists of Shards and Coins, Shards can be purchased with real-world money while coins are earned in-game. The purchase of 500 Shards, for example, translates to $4.99 in real-world cash. The most Shards a player can purchase right now appears to be 4,600 Shards for $39.99. In other games like Destiny 2, Silver goes up to $50.00 dollars and Fortnite has a $100 dollar option. Coins are earned in-game by completing contracts and missions and you seem to get a fair amount, in just under five hours I have amassed over 10,000 coins, not to say someone who is better at the game wouldn’t earn more at a quicker rate. As of right now coins and Shards can only be used on crafting materials and cosmetics so no real pay to win right now.

Loot: The loot feels boring and honestly needs to be done better, you fight and win the enemy drops a glowing triangle and that is all you see until the end of the mission. That is when you find out what exactly you got. I understand why they did this but, when the loot is so underwhelming to begin with, this waiting doesn’t help. A rare pistol looks exactly the same as a common one of the same types just a different color.

    Load Screens:
Here there is a problem with this game as loading screens can take far, far, too long and break all sense of immersion. Want to launch a mission? LOAD SCREEN, need to fix up your Javelin? LOAD SCREEN, Die? LOAD SCREEN, and you get the point. The load screens wouldn’t be such an issue, but it can take minutes for these if you are using a standard HDD and not an SSD. Hell, Angry Joe had to wait over five minutes for his mission to launch. BioWare has promised to fix this issue before the main launch of the game this Friday so we will have to see if they keep that promise.

    Environment:
The game looks amazing when you leave Fort Tarsis and enter the world. Plantlife, wildlife, and enemies are varied and look amazing. BioWare clearly put their best foot forward here as this is where the game shines.

    Enemies and AI:
The enemies of Anthem are varied however a little predictable as you have all the boxes checked. That isn’t to say they aren’t fun to do battle against and the AI makes them a challenge as more than once I found myself being flaked by the AI, which will also take cover and attempt to dodge.

    Story:
Sadly, Anthem’s story isn’t the greatest, especially when compared to BioWare’s other works like Dragon Age and Mass Effect. That isn’t to say it is bad it just isn’t very strong though it can evolve as this game does over time. I have a personal theory that Anthem takes place in the Dragon Age Universe but there is nothing official about that. If BioWare were to weave the two story arcs together I think it would be a stroke of genius but only time will tell if I am right.

    Missed Opportunities:
This game looks and plays how Mass Effect Andromeda should have but BioWare and EA would never admit. It is my opinion that Anthem took resources away from the Mass Effect franchise, Development of the game started in 2012, immediately after the release of Mass Effect 3, under the supervision of Casey Hudson, the executive producer of the original Mass Effect trilogy. So to say BioWare put Mass Effect on the back burning isn’t a big leap of faith. We all know how that turned out for Mass Effect and time will tell how it will turn out for Anthem. Part of me loves the fact that we are getting a new IP from BioWare and part of me wishes they would have stuck to the format that has worked from them this far.

    Final Thoughts:
Anthem is a fun game when it works, and combat is fast-paced and smooth. It needs polish right now and we will see if BioWare fixes load times and bugs. The story isn’t a typical BioWare one but that isn’t necessarily a bad thing but if you buy this game thinking it will be like Mass Effect you are going to be disappointed. As much as I want to recommend you go out and buy this game I would hold off until at least two major patches are live or until the loading issues are fixed. My score for this game at today is a 6/10 and if they fix the loading issues this game is easily an 8/10 and a must-own for anyone who loves third person shooters with some RPG mixed in.

The characters and storyline represent BioWare's typical skill at worldbuilding and character building, and though I usually prefer a little more customisation in my characters, I can understand that given the way the game is designed doesn't lend itself to seeing your character's face very much it would have been rather irrelevant to add a fully in-depth creator, since the preset options you get are wide-ranging enough to fill all tastes and don't look like they walked out of the Uncanny Valley (I'm looking at you, Andromeda!)

The combat and flight system is genuinely my favourite part of the game, it's so responsive and streamlined that I can go from fighting to flying and back to fighting with almost no interruption between them.

The world itself (in terms of appearance, not setting) is simply stunning, there's no other way to put it. I could just spend all day exploring it and find a million small things to investigate or a thousand beautiful vistas to survey, and I'd still only have scratched the surface.

Anthem is a game in its infancy. There'll be problems, what game launches without them these days, but Anthem has the promise to be able to do what the likes of Destiny has consistently failed to do; continue and thrive.

It is only a shame that some would drag it down just based on their hatred for EA or what they perceive to be BioWare's fall from grace, but I think Anthem could be the step back from the brink that BioWare needs to re-establish themselves, and my hopes for the future of their other flagship series have been restored.

If you like just having fun and realize this is a new venture of online service type game from a Publisher(BioWare) which has not done before and can see the potential that a game could have then this is a game for you.

Yes there are a lot of reviews out there that have given this game a not so stellar review but as a consumer we have to become more critical of those reviewers which most of us have grown to love and that is to see if perhaps this game may not be for them or had to high of expectations.

The core aspect of the game is without a doubt entirely a fun ride all together though you have to ask yourself what you are looking for from Anthem. If you do not mind grinding endlessly with more of a focus on the abilities for loot then perhaps this game may be for you. People express that the grind is to much for less than stellar rewards well got a news article for you for pretty much every game like WoW, Destiny 2, Division to name a few all have grinding aspects to their game which at times to some people may not be as stellar as the next person.

Connection problems are a bane for most online games at their inception and some companies tend to have better luck in regards to expecting it. The whole aspect is that with a release there are multiple variations of computer equipment as well as programs running that may interfere with the service you are getting though last time I heard they are continuously releasing patches as well as addressing them with their best solution they can make. I at times get the sound bug but that does not halt my enjoyment of the game though yes it is a bit of a nuisance to me to have to restart but it is usually quick for me to get back into the swing of things. Sometimes when I go do something in particular I drop like in a mission but the good thing is that when I relaunch and as long as that mission is in progress I can rejoin or perhaps it is ended so I just have to launch another mission and all the loot I acquired is still there saved.

All in all I am having fun and I do recommend this game for to me I have gotten my money's worth out of the game and the good news is that if I need to take a break due to a new game coming out that I want to play I can always return and be able to be right next to my friends for the future DLCs are all free as they say but time will tell.

Even before it launched, people were preparing to dump on it. If you don't like Shooter Looters or Games as a Service models then why did you buy Anthem. It was well communicated as that before launch.

I've played Destiny (not the sequel) and the Division and honestly Anthem is what I wanted them to be. There's a lot of world building, your character is fully voiced (with options to choose from) and the game play is great with a lot of options for combat and customization. Additionally, the world you play in is large and well developed and they weren't lying when they emphasized verticality. It really adds to the game play and even just getting from point A to B is fun.

I'm actually not the biggest fan of Shooter Looters, one of my gripes is that the enemies that are bullet sponges just don't make sense, but they do in Anthem. The foes that take a lot of damage to kill make sense. They're either heavily armored units or huge vehicles and titans, and I'm not questioning why they take so much damage. Additionally, there's actually variety to game play. Yes, most quests are excuses to get from point A to B to shoot a variety of enemies, but there's also puzzles and other quests. Something you don't see a lot in Shooter Looters.

Also, yes there's micro-transactions and they charge more than they should, but anything you can buy with money you can buy using coin you earn in game. Also, just the beginning armor is awesome.

If you have some principled distaste for Shooter Looters and Games as a Service then sure, stray away from this, but it's actually a good game and I don't want it to die an early death because of people preexisting prejudices.

The customisation both in play style and colour schemes are decent to say the least, the background lore is incredibly deep and for anyone looking for that sense of a fully fleshed out world on the scale of Mass Effect, it's here. The storyline is a little short but still took me over 10 hours to complete (Without skipping scenes or interactable conversations) With many more relatable side quests to do, and personally, I feel the gameplay is fun, including some I enjoy the game with who were expecting the worst, and with a rather negative disposition to EA. Regardless as to what people say, the cash shop is very out the way and isn't even required. Unless you purposly go to it, there's no way to interact with it. But the game IS far from perfect.
There are bugs, some infinite loading screens (Although I can name a few games that have longer and more numerous load screens) audo drop outs that require the game to be restarted, core quest objectives going missing or not being able to be interacted with and a handful of others. But the core of the game is solid, with just a few marks on the experience as noted above.
The YouTube reviews seem to be ENTIRELY one sided as if they're trying to burn EA simply for releasing a game that they wanted. An enjoyable game, with no lootboxes, rich lore, free dlc, no pay to win mechanics. I'd definitely give it a go instead of shunning it, take it with an open mind and you could be hooked it.

Anthem is a good game. It's not awful and it's not great either. It is "good" with the potential to be great. Many of its good features such as combat and customization are enough to mask most of the underlying flaws to have a fun time with it. I've had fun playing Anthem and will continue to play it for a while moving forward. But I'm not extremely addicted to it like most had hoped to be and it's not the sole game I'm playing right now because it's not good enough yet. The game has good bones and I expect it to evolve well in the next months. Comparing it to The Division would be unfair as it's far better at launch, but it has the same kind of potential to grow into its shoes long term.

    Pros:
Most Beautiful Open World Game Available
    Great Combat/Combo System
    Great Customization
Good Story (Nothing groundbreaking but good for the genre)
    Great voice acting
    Great Face Animation
    Microtransactions are Purely Cosmetic

    Cons:
    Just OK Quest Variety
    Occasional Long Load Screens
Weapons Don't Feel Good at Lower Levels
Graphics felt a bit unoptimized. You'll need serious horsepower
    Menus are clunky

Despite all of the issues I still have a lot of fun playing the game. Many issues reported after the launch (15th) have been fixed (not all tough) and in my personal experience, they weren’t that gamebreaking to begin with - but I guess I was lucky not to encounter them.

The game is faaaar from perfect, but not even close to the buggy, underdeveloped, cash-graby asset flip of Fallout 76.

    Pros:
    - Fast paced and dynamic gameplay. Jumping, flying, dashing, charging, shooting - it all feels very fluid and responsive. Blasting hordes of enemies with your abilities, dodging incomming attacks by doing barrel rolls midair or flaying inches above the ground still feel fresh and give me a ton of fun, even after 90hours of game time.
    - Characters are played very well and animations in in-engine cut scenes are realistic and fluid. The actors did a great job, even if writers did not.
    - Best served with friends. Even if they're new people you've just met on a Discord you've joined a day before the launch. Ton of fun to be had, lulz, facepalm moments, mutual support and cheering for other team members. If you want to get most of the game - join a Discord server and start playing with others.
    - Up until certain point, the progression is rewarding, with first couple of masterworks or legendaries bringing shouts of joy. Unlocking higher levels of gear, abilities and components is fluid and natural (until Masterworks rank.)
    - Cosmetics can be obtained with in-game currency. Challenges (and there's a lot of them...), alliance system, daily, weekly and monthly challenges, world chests and even some monsters drop coins all the time. There really is no need (at least now) to spend a dime on "premium" currency.

    So-so:
    - Main story: Too many forced puns, predictable turns of events, short. Actors playing the characters redeem it somewhat, and the final ending of last fight caught me by surprise. So yeah, even tough it’s bland it has its moments.
    - Cosmetics: so far only 2-3 additional skins for every Javelin and some semi-interesting vinyls. We still don’t know the pricing of legendary skins, so it can turn out, that those 200k coins I’ve accumulated so far are not enough (epic skin sets: 61k, rares: 52k.)
    - Small amount of masterworks and legendary items. Some inscriptions (main mods of a weapon) need rework - they’re either meaningless or game breaking overpowered.
    - Sound: music is great, with vibe and ambience perfectly suited for the environment (my personal opinion…) Sound effect could use a little work, especially weapon effects sound hollow or flat in some cases.
Chatter in the city or soundscape in the wilds is also lacking.
    - Although the graphics are great, they are at times a far cry from what we saw in the first trailer, especially when it comes to lighting and world details.
    - Masterworks components are locked behind disproportionately high grind. Odd, given the fact, that using masterworks weapons unlocks their blueprints quickly.
    - World is nice, but lack variety and life. Exploration and world events can only last you so long, but first dozen or so hours is fun.

    Cons:
    - After 90 hours I’ve pretty much consumed all there is to the game… Cataclysms, legendary contracts, new strongholds, new loot. I know it’s been less than a week from opening access to wider audience, but if one week of hardcore gaming led me through everything there is…
    - Most legendary weapons and abilities are underwhelming at best, flat out useless at worst.
    - Affixes (additional modifiers to every item) are pulled from one table, regardless of the item type. Example: you get a masterwork weapon you wanted, but every single affix rolled affects different weapons… BW already promised to fix that in near future, but for now - no point in crafting, as it’s a crapshoot.
    - Loading times: on HDD they’re bad, on SSD they’re comparable to other big world games. Still - there’s a lot of them, especially when switching between different UIs.
    - Speaking of UI - both UI and UX are baffling at times. Example: you load into the Forge to equip your Javelin, you remember you wanted to finish couple of challenges, which require you to use a certain ability or weapon. You can’t access the Journal to look them up, you need to exit the Forge, check the required weapons and abilities, load back to Forge and pray to God Emperor of Mankind that you remember the names right…
    - Repetitive missions and world events. It’s really only a handful of scenarios, which differ only in narrative, while the main loop boils down to: fly there, shoot stuff, do something, fly there, shoot stuff, do something…

And each of the javelins really feels like you're playing a different class, unlike other similar genre shooters where everything feels the same and you trade "shield resilience" for "shield recharge" (Destiny, I'm looking at you).

Sure, they've got some kinks to work out: load times need to be fixed, and can we PLEASE get something other than that one picture of the scar to look at? But this game has huge potential.

There were issues with Andromeda in the beginning, and MassEffect 3 had terrible endings, but Anthem is different. At least to me, it is. I have tons of hours into the game, and still loving it as much as when I picked it up. Much like a lot of other Bioware fans I was eagerly awaiting this game. I was not disappointed with what I expected to be in the game vs. reality. I knew that this game was going to be very combat focused, and yet...it isn't. A lot of folks are saying that the characters and story are flat, and without giving spoilers or details, I disagree. The world that you live in outside of combat IS FULL of NPC characters to chat with between quests, and missions. These characters increase as you rank up and unlock things in the game.

I feel the game itself is well executed and despite some early beta/alpha bugs (all of which or most have been worked out now btw). I like the characters, I love the Javalins and piloting one is well done too. The guns feel responsive (and there are a ton of weapons), and the enemies DO NOT feel like bullet sponges. It's rewarding to hit an enemy and watch them react to the hit, or even knock them out of the air if they are flying.

A lot of others are comparing this to WarFrame and Destiny, I have played both and can say this game is different enough. WarFrame is very technical and requires a lot of hours and micro-transactions to "earn" all the frames etc. So far, I have spent 0 extra cash, and have been able to buy a totally new look for a few Javalins. WarFrame has a lot more customization and the number of "frames", but again the enemies are different, the world is different, WarFrame is full of micro-transactions, it's not the same game, though similar.

Destiny is an FPS and aside from that is VERY linear in nature, Anthem is more open as you can freely move and fly around the world, even go under water. Destiny is pretty much a set map for each zone or area/level (pretty sure if you fall into the water, you die). Both games are similar in play-style since they are both shooters, but that is really where I see any similarity stop. Destiny had very little character or relationship building (really none), it was pretty much go to the next level, and then a tiny bit of dialogue (which was all very cheeky and flat). With Anthem, I feel like you get full conversations, and later on you get more and more people to chat with. It has a lot more "character" not to be punny.

In closing, I would highly recommend Anthem to anyone who enjoys multiplayer PVE 3rd Person shooters, either with or without friends this game is a blast. The story elements are great, and the characters you will meet will keep you wanting to unlock new parts of the game to see what or who might be next.

This game to me has broken a funk that I had for the past few months and for the first time in a while I have really wanted to come home and plug into a game. Loving Anthem, every minute of it!

Personally I love this game, although it does have its shortcomings. Anthem has an amazing story line which can be expected of a developer such as Bio-ware, there is plentiful content and customization to your javelin, weapons and skills, you can spend countless hours admiring the view in free play or you can immerse yourself in some more challenging Grand-master 1-2-3 strongholds.Personally I love this game, although it does have its shortcomings. BUT.....
it also has large load times and frame rate drops. Whilst Bio-ware is attempting to fix these issues it is still prominent within the game. Most negative reviews i have witnessed is due to the developer and the over hype that every game gets and cannot live up to expectations.

To be honest there is some server problems now end then but the same thing with other online game as well right? All the issues and glitches have been fixed with patches and I've never seen them. People have misused the game true the glitches and then show others how to do on YouTube. That have spoiled the game a million! They have been banned and then scammed the game and produced "feel-sorry-for-me" videos. Take the punishment and shut the *** up b***s!!
I've met no other problems what so ever and just had fun man.

Now to some pros and cons:

+ Graphic is excellent but you have to have a potent PC
+ The sound really good and add to the story
    + The Music is OK
+ The story line is a little bit confusing first but give it some time just like The Elder Scroll
+ The combat system is very good
+ Easy to handle the gear
+ Very easy to "get started"
+ The environment - how cool isn't the environment
+ Choose between missions and free-play
+ Go by your self or with others which are more rewarding

    - Some server error problems now and then
    - Sometimes repetitive missions
    - Enemies AI in the beginning are to easy but not later

If you don't want to deal with the bugs, I'd recommend waiting another month or so to play the game.

The combat is fun and each javelin's way of fighting is unique. You can be an Interceptor fighting up in the face of your enemies in explosive and intense combat. You can be a Storm calmly floating 50 yards up while raining death and destruction down below you. You can be a Colossus lobbing bombs at the hordes or smashing through them with your shield. You can be a Ranger delivering tactical punishment or support from a range while remaining just agile enough to avoid the enemy attacks, but also agile enough to deliver the coup de grâce with your hidden sword.

The story is intriguing and I actually cared about the characters. There is the main story and 3 main agents stories. It takes about 40 hours to complete the main story and the agent stories if you are playing through at a casual pace. There are also a ton of side stories around the city (dialogue only).

Yes, the graphics are amazing.....but what really is important about the visuals is the design. The scenery is amazing. I commonly find myself wishing I could pause the game just to take in everything around me.

As for endgame, there are 3 daily legendary contracts (increased difficulty randomly generated missions with a better loot table), 3 strongholds (aka dungeon/raid), an unlimited supply of randomly generated freelancer contracts, and a free roam mode. What this game really needs, is an "endless mode". I would also like to see some things equivalent to Diablo's bounties, greater rifts, boss fights, etc... Maybe some PvP? It took a while for the other "looter shooters" to add all the endgame content that they wanted, so I'm going to sit back and be patient.

A lot of people complain about load times, and also complain about strange issues that are caused by playing this game with a hard disk drive. If you play this game with a hard disk drive, you WILL have problems. A game with textures and detail this extravagant is too much for a HDD. Play this game on a solid state drive. HDD is a dying technology. Frankly, I'm happy to see a game developer make a game that actually takes advantage of the power of a SSD. It's time we move out of the realm of old primitive HDDs. If you do not have a SSD, go get one, install Windows and your games on it. This will be the single biggest performance boost to you computer you have ever experienced.

For the record, I have 110 hours in the game. I beat all of the main story missions including the agent stories at about 40 hours of play-time. So, I've spent ~70 hours playing strongholds, repeatable missions, and playing the story missions with my friends. I have a ~500 gear score Storm and Interceptor, and ~470 gear score Colossus and Ranger. I think 506 is the current max possible gear score. I'm excited when I get home from work each day because I get to play some Anthem. As long as that excitement is still there, BioWare has done something right.

I give the game a 9/10. -1 point for little annoyances in the game: limited mobility in the city, lack of intelligent AI with NPCs in the city, lack of tactical AI with enemies, no in-game text chat system, and no endless game mode.

I believe the dissatisfaction stems from a lack of knowledge. Games of this type never start out fully fleshed out. Vanilla WoW had plenty of issues and that was a pay to play game after the initial purchase.

In all honesty I think the reviewers are likely not fans of this genre or have unrealistic expectations. Sure there are issues with the game. That being said it delivers in plenty of areas that result in fun gun play and a beautiful environment. I've encountered 2 game stopping glitches in 30 hours. Other than that pretty much a great time. Loading times aren't nearly as bad as all of you claim. I've timed them between 40 and 120 seconds. There have been games with worse that no one complained about. Likely it is due to the fast paced nature of cooperative MMORPG Looter shooter style games. You want to get in and out quickly and enjoy yourself. I get it we all have stuff to do. Understand the limits of the situation and you'll manage your expectations accordingly. The Frostbite engine is awesome and produces some nice environments with decent physics and fun gameplay. However, it is clearly a demanding engine. That knowledge alone should tell you the consoles will have some longer load times due to that demand. If you want shorter load times get a PC. I've watched a 360 take 4 minutes to load Skyrim, an amazing game. My PC could load that same main area within 20 seconds. I'm more impressed Bioware managed to optimize the console hardware as much as they did.

All you do is look for room to complain rather than marvel at some of the greatness a product has to offer. Ignorance breeds all kinds of dissatisfaction in a product. I believe there is a correlation to the growing gamer community in relation to these types of games and the amount of knowledge to contextualize what you're actually experiencing. Outside of the technical ignorance there is the financial ignorance. I want you all to think about the last time a standard launch version of a video game exceeded 60 dollars. Offhand it was more than a decade ago. Now think about the cost of designing a game this complex with servers and the support staff to run it around the clock. I don't even need to formally run the numbers to tell you the cost to produce these games has gone up, especially online based games that require dedicated servers. The simple conclusion is that if the cost to produce increases and the cost to sell doesn't they will need to find ways to generate revenue elsewhere through DLC, expansions, or cosmetic goods. This stuff isn't free and a billion dollar gaming company doesn't grow off of giving away their profit margin. All of this complaining won't force the gaming companies to adapt to your demands. It will make them realize they can't produce games of this complexity for a price you're willing to pay. All we will have left is trash like Fortnite.

So please continue to complain and watch every good developer disappear. You'll get F2P trash that was slapped together overnight with the depth and complexity of the play dough my grandmother used to make when I was a kid. I could ramble longer but I doubt many will read this and its just me ranting at the people ranting.

To call Anthem a multiplayer game is I think a bit misleading, but certainly not false. I really have a feeling that Anthem was aimed at people who enjoy single player open worlds. I'm definitely one of those people. I have a couple of friends on my various gaming app lists, but none of my friends on Origin bought Anthem yet. So I've been matchmaking my story missions and actually kinda enjoying that the pixar quality cut scenes are forced, and that I don't have a friend on the line talking my ear off while it plays out. If I had a friend complaining about "cut scenes in general"(or whatever) in my ear while the story was playing out, I think it would be taking away from the experience quite a bit. Don't get me wrong I love my friends, but I really love my journeys to Bioware's glorious narratives as well. I hope to get some Anthem playing friends along the way to the end game, because I think it would be a fun multiplayer game at that point. I've got about 19 hours in and I just hit level 14(WOOOO!), no rushing here as I stated earlier. Picked the Storm first but I'm now in love with my Interceptor. To put myself in context just let me tell you that I finished all of the main content in ME Andromeda, I think that makes me a Bioware fanboy. However, I'll admit it was drab in storytelling and I skipped the epilogue because the characters had not developed the identities that previous ME games have. It's hard not to give the game a 10 with all the hate, but if I could give it a higher rating I would. I've really enjoyed every moment, and I can't wait to get back to it. I own somewhere around 350 pc games and I know a jewel when I see it. It's not a rush to level 30, there is a great somewhat interactive movie in there. Enjoy it! Expand

I waited until I could get it on sale and at half-price or less the game is well worth the purchase as it currently is. I just hope they don't walk away like they did with Andromeda and break their promises to continue creating for Anthem. If they do, it will likely be the last EA game I ever buy until years after release so I know what I am getting and not counting on them actually following through on any promises they may otherwise make. They've shown several times already their promises are flimsy at best. Should they prove their promises to in fact be lies, no player should ever trust their word again. They'll destroy what little credibility they may have left and that nobody should buy any games from them based upon future promised features.

P.S. I do have to question the number of reviews here by people who say they've played for 40, 50 or even up to 200+ hours but then give a score of 0 to 4 or 5. WTH? Until now non of them have a solid criteria base for games they review, and it not even close to what pro-criticism is supposed to be, they just play the game and finish it then write an opinion, which has absolutely no value at all.
