    Have been waiting this game since I saw it on E3 years ago. The game runs smooth and looks awesome. I have had no problems so I think that all this negative feedback is only because is EA and people are haters. Bioware do not deserve so many bad comments, they are an amazing company.
    If you're going to talk s**t about a game, at least do it with real reasons and not just hate!

    Never wrote a review on a game in my life but now i feel like i need to bc this game is amazing 80 hours in still enjoying it , yes there's a fews bugs but all the core feature of this game are great, and it will only get better with future update.

    A solid "Looter Shooter" with a good story and fun game play. Story is enjoyable and the additional social interactions with NPC's add to the life of the city.

    The game is Beautiful. Flying around is great. The story, to me, was satisfactory. The game does have some issues that need to be addressed, though It's been keeping me busy since it released and will for quite a while longer. Overall I feel like the game is great and will only get better as the Devs are fast to reply to issues and fix bugs.

    Anthem is a looter shooter with a lot of potential. It is a decent game around the same quality as Destiny 2 on release. Really disappointing to see the way gullible people are getting swept away in the hate bandwagon, but that's the internet today, I guess.

    My experience with Anthem began with purchasing the EA prime for one month ($15). I figured that if I didn't like the game, I would just cancel and not buy it; but, if I did like the game, I could buy it 10% off.

    I was hooked by the first 10 hours. There are a few bugs and the loading times were rough, but I don't understand why people are calling this an "unfinished game."     This is all just my opinion, but I think it has an original and epic story. Also, the dialogue between the characters is better than Fallout 4. With some NPCs, I found myself laughing at their hilarious banter and interactions; and, with other NPCs, I found myself deeply invested in their heart wrenching situations.

    The world is massive and there is so much to explore. Chests, resources, and other collectibles are there for the taking if you just look into that cave on the side of the cliff or in that lake by the waterfall. While you explore, you will activate World Events giving you an opportunity to score some loot and feats. EVERY EXPERIENCE in this open world is different. The chests and resources spawn in different places, and the World Events activate randomly.

    The game play is... WOW. Flying around this massive world is addicting, and fighting with so much maneuverability is both challenging and fun.

    The loot system reminds me of Boderlands2. Awesome.

    The day 1 patch has reduced the loading times by about 50% (just a guestament). This has reaffirmed my decision to play this game. With more patches and content on the way, I look forward to what Anthem will become.    … Expand

    Despite the fact that everyone is trashing the game I've found the game to fun and relaxing and refreshing experience. Yes its grindy, yes it's repetitive but what would you expect from a looter shooter? The world looks amazing, graphics are on the level. Thoroughly enjoying it for a week now. Don't fall for EA haters, give it a shot.

    This game is so Great its absolutly awesome for me after 50hrs its still impressive with ultra settings. And i can not wait for the cataclysm in march. Good Flight Freelancers.

    Just shiny co-op shooter. Simply farm and craft as in ME 3 and ME:A.
    Just waiting survival arena, and then will be a "good co-op shooter" with minimal lore.

    The game had some network issues on launch that are blown out of proportion (but they need to get this stuff working flawlessly), the gameplay is FUN and that is what its all about.
    The Developers are active and transparent on social media (reddit). It has no Lootboxes. That is a better starting point in my eyes than Destiny or Division had.

    I am not burned out on looter shooters as i didn't play Desitny or Division so maybe that is why i still enjoy this.
    The Loot and progression is a bit linear, but that is fine, i'm not here for the grind but for the gameplay and atmosphere, if i get bored and move on after 50 hours that is fine as well, i do not look for long term relationships with my videogames, EA want's to turn everything into a "live service" so you keep paying for microtransactions, i as the customer do not care about that stuff, if i get a good amount of hours of fun for my 60€ then i'm happy with that.

    I'm sure in a few patches most of the technical complaints won't be issues anymore.
    If the content is for you or not is subjective, i got FUN and that is all i care about.

    The EA BAD circlejerkers are out in force to destroy this one which is sad, maybe EA deserves this, BioWare sure doesn't.

    But if anybody wants to tell me that they worked 6 years on this, no, just no. This has at best 2 years of active development in it and it clearly feels rushed, a year more development would have helped a lot, maybe they were doing concept art and world building 6 years ago but the current version of the Frostbite Engine isn't even old enough for that statement to make any sense.    … Expand

    No idea how folks are giving this game such low reviews. This has been the most fun I've had in a game in several years, so far I have 54 hours of time played. The story line is excellent, I love all the quirky characters and side missions. Core mechanics of the game are great, you get to fly around in a mechanized suit blowing hordes up.     Pros:
    1. Combat feels and plays great
    2. Teaming up with other players and working out gear combos makes this game have endless combos
    3. This isn't a quick to the top game, very few players can even finish content on GM2
    4. An active Dev team with open communication, this is very rare
    5. No one is holding your hand or showing you how to build your Loadout, you will need to test things
    6. GM2-3 are difficult, let's keep it that way
    7. Huge verity of stats and bonuses on gear, one good roll on an item can completely change your build, this give a good reason to re-roll (craft Masterwork) gear for new stats
    Improvements and Suggestions
    1. Add a Mini-map, it's easy to get turned around and blocking the screen with a map isn't helpful
    2. Add a Shooting Rang or Test Dummy area, allow for testing builds outside of joining groups or going through multiple loading screens to see if gear works
    3. Add more Strongholds
    4. Add the ability to view equipped gear outside the Forge
    5. Add a Character stats screen, showing totals of perks and bonus you get from your gear along with stat definitions
    6. Add in-game chat with the ability to link items for others to view

    Overall the game has been awesome, a few tweaks will really polish this game up. If you are looking for instant gear and no grind I would strongly avoid this game, if you are a fan of POE, D3 and other gear grinders I would bet you would really enjoy this game. With the current 90 day roadmap that was released by Bioware I feel this game will evolve quickly and many issues that are being seen now will be gone. Final note, the story is short but left open ended giving me the hopes of new content. Time will tell, for now I am sold and will continue to play.    … Expand

    Anthem is an all-around exhilarating experience. I believe that the heavy hate for the game is unjust and falsfully wrong because EA put its title on the game. I've played over 20+ hours already into the game and am having a blast so far. Characters do seem bland, at times but then there are parts in the story that makes you say " Wow **** that was cool".     I really can't understand such low scores. The game probably has some bugs (I have only issues with connection), but it's just launched and some number of bugs is reasonable. I even think that it's pretty good start. The gameplay is fun and the story is brilliant. I guess you should at least try this game, it really worth it.

    Been playing Destiny 2 for a long time and that game is dying, and this release was a gift from above, amazing gameplay, and breathtaking graphics, cool story and something i will enjoy for a very long time, people that put 0 on this game should maybe try it first, that is just a stupid way to rate something.

    I am not really sure why people complain so much about this game. I guess the issues involving the story, the campaign and the loading screens do not bother me as much. All I want is to shoot and kill things in a suit and this game gives me that. I am having so much fun and I really enjoy the looter aspect of the game.

    My first couple of hours in, I maybe would not have rated it highly either, especially if I was having technical issues (which, on a Ryzen 5 with 6 cores and a 1080, I am not).

    It takes a slight investment of 5-10 hours to understand the different game modes, do some freeplay, do some quests, get some gear, learn how to fly, learn how to combo, etc. A lot of weapon types and abilities are just not available to you until the gear drops via RNG. If you hate the class you picked you can also make a new pilot and choose a different javelin.

    The only biome that doesn't exist in Anthem is Tundra and Desert. As for lack of biodiversity, I honestly don't know what people are talking about. There are tons of interesting enemies with interesting and unique combat abilities and tactics that require you to read and react appropriately to succeed in combat. Killing stuff is fun.

    The worst part of the story is the opening tutorial. They throw a lot of high concept stuff at you that just seemed over the top to me. But once I took on some more quests and realized the story really is about the people in this world, I relaxed and enjoyed it. I came to love the characters and their voice work (and their animation, which is extremely well done). Some of the little side characters are quite hilarious. There are interesting scripted conversationis you can eavesdrop on as well. They are just tiny little nuggets, but there are a lot of tiny little nuggets in this game that speak to the love and sweat that was poured into this game.

    I am a huge Bioware fan but did not have high hopes for this game because of EA's involvement. From what I hear they were pretty hands off, and I think it shows.

This game is getting low marks for what most games go through a bad launch. but in the cause it easy early access bad launch the hard launch is going very well from a service connection stand point. Also they had 2 gpu drive updates from geforce to help with performance. Getting into the core gameplay its amazing the flying taking off hovering turning around and just lighting up a mob with your guns or powers is amazing then just taking off or coming down in a ground pound.

    The biggest problem is randos dont play as a team and the tethering system needs to be taken out during missions tbh. The mobs are fine id like to see a few more versions of base mobs,roaming mobs would be nice to add as well. Put in some ambush during free play and missions would be nice. not showing the teleport gate. But just having the mobs jump you.the npc are fine they could easily add more talking options with them. They need to make your chat options change the outcome of the convo. The prices are right for the cosmetic opens I love to grind so getting coin is np for me :) Im loving the game so far some of its short comings are not as bad as some are flaming about. I think a good majority of it is EA hate. Myself I dont like EA but they have been hands off in a long development cycle that is nice. Im glad they didnt try to force this game out.    … Expand

    I have quite literally done nothing in my spare time except play Anthem since its launch. I found the characters sincere and lovable, sometimes they got a little corny, but even that was endearing. The story was compelling—I laughed (a lot!), I got chills a couple times, I even cried. I found the characters sincere and lovable, sometimes they got a little corny, but even that was endearing. The story was compelling—I laughed (a lot!), I got chills a couple times, I even cried. The end of the Critical Path came out of left field and I loved it. The movement and combat are quite honestly the most satisfying in a game I’ve ever experienced. While out exploring the world, I’ve found three separate instances where it’s obvious they have planned DLC ready to open up should Anthem do well. I acknowledge there have been a few kinks in the system due to releasing the game a month or two before it was actually ready for lunch, but this is an industry wide problem. It seems like Anthem is the straw that broke the camels back for a lot of people, causing the unwarranted extreme negative opinions. Give it a shot, download the demo.     Do not let the bad reviews prevent you from playing the game, i like it and yes it has flaws but developers are solving them. i highly recommend you testing teh game with the free origin premier access pass. If this game is supported by his community it would likely become greater, there is so much potential !

You can play as you want. In my opinion, people expected from this game what it is not and should not to be. I don't understand how this game is even being compared to Fallout 76, the number of quality differences is astounding. This game runs well, looks great, sounds great, has great gunplay, enemies don't just run at you or get stuck behind cars, you can very easily swap between character builds, exploration is rewarded with loot, gear upgrades are regular (at least so far, I'm 30hrs in), etc. It's an online game, so of course it's going to need an internet connection. It's not some single player game that they're artificially imposing an always on connection to. Granted, there is an annoying bug where I'll lose my audio, but this is something that can be fixed, unlike the fundamentally flawed creation engine that tarnished Fallout 76's opportunity.
    DLC is free/non an additional purchase, and there are no gameplay affecting micro transactions (cosmetic only). As someone who's game library is over 400 games, it's been a while since I've had this much fun this easily playing a game, and I quite honestly believe the people trashing on it don't know what they're talking about and lack a point of reference for what a bad game truly is.

    I swear half these negative reviews were written by people who didn't even play the game. Especially the ones complaining about Endgame content. Look, no game has a ton of Endgame content on day one, but it has literally 3 times as much as people on this site are claiming it does. 2 out of 3 strongholds don't unlock until you beat the main story, but that's the definition of endgame. And as to people complaining about performance: I haven't had a single issue. I'm running everything at ultra and it's been perfectly smooth sailing.

    I've sunk dozens of hours and counting into this game. It's fantastic. The combat is chaotic in a way that's realistic without being overwhelming and the heads up displays are intuitive. The flight mechanic just feels good. The visuals are absolutely amazing. The detail put into everything is par for the course with Bioware, but beyond what any other studio bothers with.

In contrast to those negative reviews I am thoroughly enjoying the world of Anthem as am all the friends I am playing with. The game plays beautifully on PS4, I've had no issues whatsover and the gameplay is exciting, creative and most of all fun. Storylines are well crafted and engaging and there is so much to do in the world it is incredible. Anthem is one of the most beautiful looking games I have played and the four different Javelins make for a different experience in gameplay and style depending on which you decide to play. The inclusion of seamless flight extends the combat and exploration in new and exciting ways and blasting off from Fort Tarsis to explore what lies ahead is a real thrill. So I am sorry that so many of you seem to be playing a completely different game to me and many of those who I see writing about their positive experiences with the game.     * Small glitch like a double Javelin that happened once, overlapping at its station port, when introduced to Tassyn in the cinematic scene.

    *Small glitch when I fly too high above ground and getting to a cut off point and my Javelin getting stuck at the side of a mountain which has happened once.

    * Rubber-banding issues when playing in some missions, but that is my fault because I have a crappy wifi connection, so I am partly to blame for my personal experience with the game.

    And that's all I can think of for negatives at the moment.

    **Positives**

    * I think the graphics are great, that they are sharp and very detailed. Thanks to having upgraded my desktop computer, it has improved the graphics and performance of the game to reflect the high quality put into it by Bioware.

    * I enjoy the dialogue among the NPC's that you run past and hearing what goes down among the people in Fort Tarsis.

    * The detail in facial movements of the characters in Fort Tarsis are very natural and malleable, even catching a smirk, a roll of the eyes in sarcasm or a slight open mouth in expression, blew me away. It gives an added layer to the voice acting and movement of the characters.

    *The voice acting is phenomenal and very high standard. I was very impressed and hope to learn more about the characters.

    *The story and lore has a lot of detail to keep me busy. And I have many codex to catch up on to read, to get the in depth understanding of the new world of Anthem.

    *Fighting mechanics are very easy to use and to pick up on. I found it enjoyable getting to fly in the air and to go in the water. They improved the mechanics since the demo for the water movement mechanics. My favourite Javelins to fight with has been the Inceptor and the Storm. I find they have some really cool combo abilities to attack with.

    * I happen to like the idea of fighting with others in a random group, and getting to work together and create tactics. It hasn't been negative as I thought it might be. But I've changed my mind since playing. Plus you do get to do missions on your own which add to a extra level of challenge.

    * I'm happy with the idea of getting to set your difficulty and that with each difficulty setting you get better items.

    * Overall functionality of the game has been very smooth, despite me having a sub-par wifi connection from my end of things (My fault).

    I know some people were talking about the servers being a problem or not being able to connect through their choice of platform, but that is something I didn't experience. I don't know how to articulate it, but, I think what ever those people experienced as issues, happened to them under certain circumstances that lead to those issue for them, but not for me. It is rather a 'some but not all' scenario.

    Anyway, I want to see more from Anthem, I'm a very patient person so I am happy when they are ready to put out more content. Hopefully adding more content to the characters as time goes by to evolve alliances and the story, and more gear and weapons to choose from.

    I'm in love with this game! Haven't been so hooked since many years. In my opinion the story is really interesting and very dynamic, javelins control is amazing and I FEEL the power of guns, grenades and rockets shot by my ranger.
    I must be a lucky guy as I never have any of these errors that many users complain about.
    You at least should try it if you are a fan of shooters or big ass mecha.

    The load screens are fine after the day one patch, which will probably improve even more in the coming days. All the reviews are basically from the early access period or from the 10hr trial during early access and yes, during that period, load times were long and the tethering was very harsh (Which has also been improved). I am currently around 50hrs into the game and nothing has seemed stale, there also hasn't been a lack of content and the story is pretty good for a looter shooter.

    On to the good stuff!
    -DLC IS FREE!
    -The cash shop doesn't sell any advantageous items and all items can be bought for a fair amount of ingame currency.
    -The graphics are amazing! (Whoever says they are terrible are just downright igorant or has technological expectations that exceed the human race' capabilites.)
    -The world is extremely detailed from the very depths of the dark waters to the top of the soaring cliffs!
    -Gunplay and combat is some of the best in the industry.
    -The movement and controls are amazing, transitioning from sky to ground, to water is almost seamless with a great sense of weight to your Javelin.
    -Sound design really immerses you into the world with all sorts of critters and wind effects and the satisfying hiss of flying through the spray of a waterfall to cool down your jets.
    -The overall story is solid, followed with tons of dialogue from characters scattered around Fort Tarsis.
    -The game is challenging! Constantly forces you to be mobile and work together with fellow freelancers. (People who think they can John Wick through content alone will be sorely mistaken.)
    -The campaign can be played SOLO and yes freeplay forces you into a session with 3 other Freelancers but you are not forced to follow them around. You can explore at your own pace.

    On to the bad stuff!

    -Currently you can't select to replay story missions, which I assume will change soon. (Unless you jump into a quickplay match to help out other Freelancers through their story.)
    -Character creation is a bit pointless as you very rarely get to see your avatar, unless they have plans on this design choice at a later date.
    -Hope to see a TRUE social hub/hubs and more focus on social interaction.
    -UI is still a bit clunky, but has already been improved upon and can yet be improved more.
    -Servers are still a bit volatile.

    Overall Anthem is a great game that is underserved of all the hate and I hope to see you all soon in the skies of Bastion!    … Expand

    I feel that people who are writing hate reviews are expecting Anthem to be a different game than it is, it isn't a Mass Effect or Dragon Age style story with world changing events based on the users actions, but it never intended to be that.     I honestly do not understand all the hate towards this game. The game looks fantastic, plays good and it has one of the most enjoyable combat/movement systems to date.     i was not hyped... i was sceptic until first DEMO came out .. and now i love this game.. :)

    Why? because is fun.. and so many peoples are loving it bcs we knew that is not a Mass Effect and it will not be like ME 2,3 .. so many people hate this game just because they cant run it.. they have old pc or no money.. why hate somethin that u dont play or u play just a free demo .. ?!     It's a very good game to play max 100 hours. It's not a MMORPG you will play 3 years so don't judge it like that. If you want to have fun with friends, and don't think of this game like it's EA or "this new controversial game" and I promise you won't be disappointed. Don't expect it to be perfect... Overall nice game, NOT for everyone and every casual. :)

    I'd say that the game is like 7 of 10, but just because some mindless people giving 1 or 2 becasue of even more mindless youtubers reviews I'll give it 10.
    However, development team communication and transparency definitely deserves 10.
    Moreover I'm sure that if the publisher was not EA the reviews and ratings would be much more positive.     Great game. Don't understand all the hate. Gorgeous graphics. Great dubbing and mimicry of characters, you can fall in love with every single one. All cutscenes are awesome and I love to watch them. Gameplay is also awesome. Don't mansion flying :D

    When I first pre-ordered Anthem, my purpose was to support BioWare. I actually expected that I would hate the game only because I did not like multiplayer games. for that reason, I was pleasantly surprised when I found myself falling in love with it. The world is beautiful, the play mechanics are incredible and even addictive, and the story, although substandard to what I am used to in aWhen I first pre-ordered Anthem, my purpose was to support BioWare.     Why all the hate? I beat the game and am now engrossed in the endgame. the story was really cool and i still love flying around. I hate EA by the way and I hope they redeem themselves but so far the game is great!

    Don't know why all the hate, sure it has bugs that should have been fixed before its release but the game offers so much fun even with that, i love the story and the charismatic characters in it.

    People give a bad rating to the game, without having bought it, all because it is marked EA on the box. Sad world. The game has great potential, and BioWare has a crazy job to improve the experience and fix the bugs. The studio is totally listening to the players, and I can not wait to see the game evolve over the months.

    Anthem deserves more than its current score. Sure, it could have more content but games like Warframe and Destiny 2 have had years of development. So for an initial release this looks great, the mechanics are fantastic too. Such an enjoyable game with friends!

    I hope people look beyond its 'EA' label and not just jump on the hate bandwagon.

    The game is not fully polished yet, But if you can get past the bugs and loading screens which will improve as time goes on, you will see the game for what it is, I Fantastic experience. I am not really into story lines so TBH i skipped skipped and skipped through just about all the conversations.

    But what I do enjoy a lot is the game play, its rock solid.     I enjoyed many things about the major parts of this game. I can see the hard work and detail that has been put into it by Bioware. This game is not broken, nor are we given half a world that isn't completed. Yes, some issues do deserve to be addressed and some constructive criticisms about concerns were valid in mention of some, and I say, some of the negative reviews.

    But please don't forget, this is a live service game that will continuously add content to Anthem's story and world. How can some of the nay sayers miss that rather large detail. Bioware already have the plans and it is already set out for what will come next. They have been extremely transparent and open with their community of gamers. They have addressed issues already and have put out two patches in quick concession. Don't think for a minute that they won't be able to handle the pressure, that is part of their job with a live service game.

    Another thing to add is micro-transactions are limited to cosmetic items only. I've seen it for myself and you can either buy Shards with RL money or you can earn coin to get the cosmetic materials or skins. I think that is a very fair system there, Bioware hasn't been dishonest at all about it, they are quite aware of the concerns about micro-transactions.

    It doesn't really need more baking, it is already a really solid game, with a solid story, with the chance of DLC to be added for FREE through a patch download. What they are trying to do with Anthem is a new approach for Bioware, let them have a chance at this.

    For those of you who are blind sighted with dislike for the publisher, forget EA, think about supporting the game developers here, think about what it takes for them to make the game, instead of $hitting on them because you feel disillusioned with the major publisher. I think they get the message already with some of your bombing reviews, that you really don't like them.
    I bet there is a game and their company and publisher that you like, that somebody will hate or dislike for the same reasons you don't like EA or Bioware for, think about that for a minute.

    For those of you who are interested in playing Anthem, but are scared to because of negative opinions and bias, please give this game a chance, with out bias influence, and judge the game based on it's own merits.

    Since there is so much bombing going on for a game that isn't terrible at all, I'm going to try and help even out the user review by giving this game a 10/10.    … Expand

    Еще раз хочу отметить прекрасную работу с персонажами в форте, все получились яркими, а связанные ними истории запоминающимися, Bioware все таки не разучились делать хорошие истории!
    Есть конечно и значительные геймплейные минусы для меня их несколько:
    1) Нехватка видов врагов как фракций так и типов внутри каждой фракции.
    2) Малый размер локации, и скудность биомов.
    3) Система экранов загрузки нуждается в доработке: возможность читать кодекс, или управляемая сценка с моделью своего джевелина(серия assassin's creed) вариантов еще много...
    3) И за что действительно стоит поругать так это за работу серверов: за несколько игровых сессий по 2-4ч. У меня было по 2-3 вылета(правда без потери прогресса) это уже после патча 21 февраля.    … Expand

    The AAA industry has to change, Editors need to listen to their developers, and developers need to listen to their communities so they cannot afford to release a 90% finished game.
    BUT we cannot afford as gamers, especially in the west, to act like resentful, spoiled children or the giants of the industry will look up for more lenient communities( like on the chinese market, cf Activision-Blizzard).

The world is stunning, combat is very responsive and the mix of matching random teams and Solo play is really well done and fun. No communication on these random Team missions means you have to pay attention to get some solid combo's but that is my only gripe with those. The quests are fun, the lore is interesting and the graphics are incredible. Loot isn't a concern for me but yes, it isn't stellar. Combat is really interesting with the flight/hover ability giving you an edge on taking the environment into account. The game has tons of potential for growth and I am waiting to see where Bioware will take this game.… Expand

Where bugs and disconnects can be fixed, especially in a live service game i feel those leaving reviews based solely on that should wait until they actually play as frustrating as it may be.     Честно, сначала скипал диалоги тупо что бы фармить очки фракции, но потом стало реально интересно читать и вникать что там у персонажей происходит.

    Еще одним минусом хочу отметить отсутствие "нормальной" кастомизации джавелина. Ну рили, фармить очки фракции 20 часов даже после окончания основной ветки не так круто. Части для смены вида за все прохождение ни разу не появились. Даже в "магазине" выбор убог и жутко ограничен (смена каждые 3 дня)

    Собственно это основные моменты которые мне не понравились, с остальным все хорошо. Гриндилка прикольная, оружие можно подобрать под свой стиль и реально интересно искать леги с их доп механиками.    … Expand

    If you want to see Anthem’s lush jungle and glistening Javelins, do it right away — this game is losing audience fast, and there’s almost nothing to do after the campaign ends. Or check it out on YouTube to save yourself some nerves and money.

    It's obvious that Anthem didn't have enough development time, but had some great potential. It's a real shame, that everything turned out this way. Even now, the game can bring out positive emotions. Hasty climbers have sudden falls. No matter how ironic this proverb may seem, it's incredibly relevant for Anthem.
