-
AGEod's American Civil War: The Blue and the Gray is definitely intended for serious Civil War strategists.
-
The Blue and the Gray is a niche game that will appeal to a very specific audience, so in that regard it’s a tough sell. However, if you fit into that group of hardcore strategy fans and Civil War enthusiasts, then this could be one that you’ll want to check out.
-
There's no denying that this is the most comprehensive and realistic simulations [sic] of the American Civil War that we've seen in a long, long time. But, as a consequence, it's also a remarkable impenetrable, laborious experiences, even by wargame standards.
-
It does look good -- it's bright, colorful and the period art is great, as is the music -- but it's impossible to recommend for anyone other than the hardest of the hardcore. For those gamers, this is a no-brainer.
-
PC Zone UKThis game is clever, deep, multifacted and a strategy nerd's wet dream. It's just a shame that it all comes at the expense of being very, very boring as well. [Dec 2007, p.84]
