    quite an interesting game for about 10 minutes, then it crashes. The thing is that i got this as the bundle "ageods military strategies" soquite an interesting game for about 10 minutes, then it crashes. The thing is that i got this as the bundle "ageods military strategies" so that may have something to do with it. But without the constant nagging crashes and errors in the code, it may get a 6, but with the crashes it gets a 3 out of 10… Expand

    I enjoy this game alot. It has all the little details you look for in what I have termed a Digital Board Game. You move your pieces around,I enjoy this game alot. It has all the little details you look for in what I have termed a Digital Board Game. You move your pieces around, you set up logistic lines and areas that you wish to engage the enemy. The Landscape and lines of combat comes into play. While the East is a brutal slug fest, the west and far west are open areas where rivers and turning combat come into play. The war of The North Vs The South has never had such a detailed attempt. I just hope they come back and give it another go.… Expand

Every conceivable detail is taken into account, and I literally spent several days trying to understand the interface (I still do not fully understand it). After spending literally hours trying to get supply lines, assigning leaders, checking terrain, setting up orders, trying to gather intelligence, terrain, weather, finances, reinforcements, attrition, and all the rest of it, I could finally actually move men into enemy territory. If you have a life, are not a hardcore history buff, or just like the casual gaming, this game is NOT for you. I had this game for about a year and still do not understand it. However, if you do have the time, patience, and know-how, you can laugh at people like me and enjoy it a lot.… Expand

    This game is brilliant in that it takes every possible aspect of actual military operations into account. It is also impossible in that it takes every possible aspect of military operations into account! I got to page 4 of the tutorial, and was glassy-eyed and in physical pain. This game is strictly for the hardcore detail fanatic who can sit for hours mulling a single maneuver and wants every detail of every unit at his/her disposal before making a decision. I cannot imagine actually attempting to compete in this game against a human, much less the AI, which has none of those cumbersome mental issues we humans have to deal with (i.e. kids running around, a dog barking, bills to pay, etc)!!! If this is for you, you'll love it, but I, as a war-history buff who loves great strategy games (like Civilization) found this game far too complex to enjoy...perhaps as a history lesson it can aid in writing a college thesis, but I would not call operating your armies in this game "fun" on any level.… Expand

    way too detailed, I spent a few hours trying to learn how to play and still am confused. I understand real armies have to deal withway too detailed, I spent a few hours trying to learn how to play and still am confused. I understand real armies have to deal with logistical support but in real life there are subordinate commanders to deal with those aspects. If you are a micromanaging 4 star general then this is the game for you. I really wanted to like this game too as I do enjoy American history and the game did seem to make every effort to remain true to history, but the super complex interface really killed the game for me.… Expand
