way too detailed, I spent a few hours trying to learn how to play and still am confused. I understand real armies have to deal with logistical support but in real life there are subordinate commanders to deal with those aspects. If you are a micromanaging 4 star general then this is the game for you. I really wanted to like this game too as I do enjoy American history and the game didway too detailed, I spent a few hours trying to learn how to play and still am confused. 1. The Blue and the Gray is a niche game that will appeal to a very specific audience, so in that regard it’s a tough sell. However, if you fit into that group of hardcore strategy fans and Civil War enthusiasts, then this could be one that you’ll want to check out.

This game is clever, deep, multifacted and a strategy nerd's wet dream. It's just a shame that it all comes at the expense of being very, very boring as well. [Dec 2007, p.84]
  3. AGEod brings a unique aesthetic to their wargames, fusing the colors of old atlases with the functionality of intuitive design.
