    Ocarina of time will forever be one of the greatest games in history, it has a deep story and a fun gameplay, the music is beautiful and it introduces iconic characters like Ganondorf and Epona, the graphics haven't age perfectly but it is still good and there is a very well made remake on the 3ds, this is truly a historic masterpiece.

    Visuals: 8 - Knowing that this game was made in 1998, the graphics don't completely live up to today's standards. That being said though, every NPC and monster looks unique and the animations for them, while not always great, are usually good and easy to read.. All the locations are varied and by now are iconic and every dungeon has it's own identity. Very good stuff.

    Audio: 10 - Music    Visuals: 8 - Knowing that this game was made in 1998, the graphics don't completely live up to today's standards. All the locations are varied and by now are iconic and every dungeon has it's own identity. Very good stuff.

    Audio: 10 - Music is a very big factor of this game (there are whole mechanics based off of it). It might be that because of how integral it is to this game that the music is so good. Nearly every single song or even sound effect in this game is memorable. Every town has it's own theme, nearly every dungeon does too! the sound effects are varied detailed and all make sense. There is very little voice acting, so little that no one actually says and words, more like grunts and yells. Even those grunts and yells are done well and became iconic themselves.

    Plot: 7 - The plot of this game is kind of hard to deeply understand unless you pay close attention to what the main characters say (especially sense most of the time they'll only say it once.). Even if you don't pay close attention there is still enough to keep you motivated to the next dungeon. The lore for the game is also pretty unique compared to other RPG titles which is pretty refreshing.

    The way the story plays out in this game is like non other in a Zelda game before it. Old characters are done in new and exciting ways, locations and lore are more fleshed out and have more meaning to them, there are even plot twists that you may or may not see coming. The only problem that I have with the story is the pacing. After while you get dry periods where even after a dungeon the story just says "Go to the next one" without much or any fan fare.

    Gameplay: 9 - This game is a 3D action-adventure RPG. You can travel all across the land to different locations, complete dungeons and find items to help you on your way, hack and slash monsters, and even play minigames!

    this is a 3D adventure so naturally you can control Link in a complete 3D space. You can run, climb, and crawl with ease, but not jump. I suspect that Nintendo didn't let Link jump because it would make constructing dungeons easier and they probably didn't want to make a Mario with a sword game. Link CAN jump but automatically and only if you is running off a platform. This sounds simple but it can be hard to measure how far he can really jump in some cases, cause some annoying deaths or time waste.

    You can also gather a plethora of items, some one time use but much more are a permanent addition to your arsenal. Unlike other games most of Links items are more for completing puzzles than defeating foes. Each item has its own quirks and uses and almost none are finicky to use.

    Combat is very important and also very hard to make right 3D games of this era. Nintendo does something brilliant in this game and incorporates a lock on system in the form of your fairy. With this lock on system no matter how fast and enemy is you can keep track of them. Link also has a good variety of ways he can swing his sword depending on how you move the control stick, which can get some used to but is very rewarding.

    The land of Hyrule is vast, not as vast as games today but still vast! Throughout the game you will travel from one place to another on foot or on horse. There's kind of a central hub that you must travel through to get to new and old lands. Eventually you will find faster and faster ways of getting across. Towns and villages are not just stops along the way either. They offer minigames, rewards and even a tiny bit of lore! Every NPC is unique and somewhat have their own personality.

    Difficulty: 7 - This game can be difficult but there are many ways to mitigate it. Health and item upgrades are plentiful and can range from very easy to hard to get them. The difficult parts in this game that you cannot make easier is the puzzles. Unless you already know the answer it won't get any easier. Luckily though there is a good curve in difficulty in the game. Sometimes the player may not where to go either but Nintendo thought of this and gave you TWO characters that will give you advice on where to go or even how to beat an enemy!

    Overall The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time is an absolutely fantastic game even for it's time. Nintendo pulled all the stops to make this game great and I believe they succeeded one hundred percent. This game oozes so much personality that whether you like the game or not it will stay with you forever. I have bought this game for basically every platform it appears on and it always impresses.    … Expand

    we just run from dungeon to dungeon in between, I wish there were side quests but it's still playable. other than that, dungeons, boss battles, puzzles are great

    This game has heavily exceeded my expectations. The story, music, hero, and villain are all so captivating! The story and terror of The Great King of Evil, Ganondorf, is what drove me to complete this game. 100/100, will definitely play again.

    Probably the best game ever made. Amazing soundtrack, great story and challenging but not impossible. The kind of game you want to get good at. Nintendo defined 3D play with this one and set a bar that no one has matched.

    I only played this game as I got older, 20 years after it originally released and yet, despite the many technical limitations and the annoying camera, I think this game is a masterpiece. I hope Nintendo will one day return to making those classic dungeons and fun stories.

    The thing about Ocarina of Time is in it's state it still surpasses both the technology limitations of it's time and the test of time as it ages on and still manages to be a perfect 10 if not one of the greatest video games of all time. I really don't need to keep going with this review as the game will speak for itself if you don't have it on any sort of system or have never played it before in your life you are seriously missing out on one of the most iconic games in Video Game History.

    The Legends of Zelda Ocarina of Time is one of my favorite games. Definitely in my top 10. The only thing that keeps me from giving it a 10 out of 10, like most Zelda games you need a guide at some point just to figure out what to do next.

Yes it hasn't aged well compared to modern games and yes for a new player it can feel repetitive but everything about the balance in the gameplay and the lore this game created is incredible.     It is 2022 and this 1998 game is still probably the best video game of all time. I guess that’s up to debate but nothing else really needs to be said. If you haven’t played it, try it out and you’ll almost certainly enjoy it. Game is timeless.

    I played the game when I was 10 years old (in 2017) and it still remains my favourite ever video game.
    People say that the graphics and combat are outdated, and do not currently live up to what they once provided in 1998, but I disagree. They are unique, playable and if you give them a chance, it is very easy to get used to them.

Even without the technology and budget available to them now, Nintendo were able to tell a unique, thought-provoking story that is memorable and interesting.     This game, If I'm totally honest is an amazing game, with an even more amazing community, constantly making mods, videos, speedruns, etc. About the game, and so, I give It a 10/10, because I remember those good old days, were I grabbed on a guide for the dungeons, and start playing TLoZ: OoT, and well, I really love this game.

    Goron city is a spectacle to behold, quirky characters and Dodongos cavern has an absolutely perfect level layout to have fun and enticing gameplay.
    Controller layout makes sense even for new player. Even with delicate n64 controller and with how prone the joystick    Honestly this is the perfect game, I love it! it's open world and has a lovely and heart felt story and i played for hours.
    Goron city is a spectacle to behold, quirky characters and Dodongos cavern has an absolutely perfect level layout to have fun and enticing gameplay.

    One of my first games ever, so it has overall a special place in my heart, but it's also one of the best games of all time, because this game, even for it's age is better than many other new games of this time. Surely it doesn't have good graphics etc. but there never was even one game that's better than this if you think of the age, it's almost 23 years old. Lo jugué de grande, en una época donde ya había grandes AAA y mundos abiertos, y aún así me marcó. Fue mi primer Zelda y el que me inició a una de mis sagasNada para decir de uno de los mejores juegos de la historia. Obra maestra completamente atemporal.     The gameplay is fun. Combat isn't difficult, but neither is it too easy. It feels intuitive and easy to get used to.

    The story is amazing. An expanding world with interesting side characters and a story easy to follow, I can't help but consider this my favorite Zelda story. Its simplicity allows a lot to be desired, but also a lot that is fulfilled.

    The challenges the game brings are not too hard, but neither is it easy. It's fun solving what to do and how to do it.

    The world is small yet potent. There's surprisingly so much to do and lays a foundation for future Zelda titles, despite Hyrule being its smallest compared to the rest of the Zelda games.

    And the best part of the game: the tone. The feeling you get playing the game is that of child-like wonder and a genuine sense of adventure. It can be serious when it needs to, funny, happy, and scary, and yet never does it feel like one tone overrides the other.

    And the gameplay (as i said) is the best part of the game, and easily compliments the story.

    Overall, the game is a 10/10

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. This video game is more than just action adventure. This game to me represents a feeling, an atmosphere. The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time shows of life from childhood to adulthood like no other game does, in the most subtle way possible.

    Going into this game, I had high expectations. I've heard many claims that this is the best Zelda game of all time, or even the best video game to have ever come out. After finishing Ocarina of Time, I can tell why people like this game so much.

    I think that this game was designed to be special and revolutionary. One of my favorite parts of the game is it's veriaty. Ocarina of Time never fails to establish folk, lore and characters in the most thought out and polished way. I like every society of this game: From the Kokiri to the Gerudo. They're all distinct and intersting. Nothing like you would see in real life. I felt like I was a child again while playing this game. Once I played the game for longer, it hit me, and it hit me hard. That moment after you become an adult and arive at hyrule town, it's dark. And a lot of the dungeons want to convay that same level of unease.

    Talking of Dungeons, I liked every single on of these dungeons. Every dungeon works with the items you get in set dungeon. It's how Zelda began. But it goes beyond that. The dungeons work with levels. You need to climb up and down diffrent levels. You would think that you would get lost or overwhelmed, but no. Besides the water temple, every dungeon was straight forward but interesting. The puzzles are at times too easy to solve but dungeons like ice cavern or the water temple are challenging.

    If there was something that I personaly didn't like about this game, it is it's diffuculty. Every boss, even Ganandorf, is relativly easy to beat. But that's not necesseraly a bad thing. I think this game was designed for newcomers and veterans of the Zelda frenchise. It's learning-curve is perfect.

    If there's one thing I like about the bosses and enimies, it's there creativity. Every boss felt special and distinct. I exptremely liked Bongo Bongo Boss and the Twinrowas. Ganodorf/Ganon was so epic to fight. The music was confusing and uneasy, which is fitting.

    Alright, I think the music is my favorite part of this game. Koji Kondo has been the composer of many legandary Nintendo titles like Super Mario Bros. and composed the music for the first Zelda as well as A Link to the Past. He was familiar with the Zelda games. I think he reflected the gameplay and atmosphere with his composing skills perfectly. Probably my favorite tune was the Gerudo Valley theme and like I've stated before, Ganondorfs Boss theme. Even though Koji Kondo was limited with using MIDI'S only, he was doing a very good job. To this day it still sound amazing. Every song fits the enviroment and doesn't get anoying because of repetition. I like that music is so interactive in this game. You play the ocarina yourself and it's essential to the game. Tunes like the Song of Storm are breathtaking.

    There's still a lot of things I would like to talk about, however I don't have a lot of characters to write left.

    It's pacing is perfect, it's length is perfect. There's just nothing I could critique really. Yeah I know, it's an old game so it's not the most fluent game, and it has a lot of glitches, but that's fine. Although that might sound cliché: to me it's more of a characteristic of the game. I think it has become my favorite game. This masterpiece is beautiful in every way imaginable. For me, it change how I look at games and at life even. It's not just some piece of entertainment: It's almost like a lesson of life.

    This is the only game I cried in. The ending was so emotional for me. I felt complete, but I was sad at the same time that the game has come to an end. I had to move on and play other video games.

    It's time for me to leave, but I will be back!

    When i first played this at release as a kid and thought I was close to the finish i had barely scratched the surface. Great gameplay, story and sound. To solve the puzzles you needed to talk to other random kids on the bus as there were no complete walkthroughs on youtube. This is an example of how games used to be. A legend that i will forever remember.

    People that rate this game below 9 just probably didn´t give it enought time or had enough interest, even if you didn´t played it as a kid doesn´t mean that people rate it based off of their nostalgia, it´s just, objectively, the best game of all time.     This game is very good. It has aged very good even though it's a N64 game. Let's be real though, if you want to play this game today than play the 3ds version. Its better and anyone who's says it objectively isn't does not understand what most people actually enjoy in a game.

The realism, the gameplay, the story, these are all superb! And if anyone tells you that the game is worse because of it’s heavily outdated graphics, tell them to get over it and realize that doesn’t make a game. Or tellThis game is amazing.     It saddens me to see 500 negative reviews complaining about the graphics or the water temple. Of course the game isn't perfect but what makes a game good is the gameplay and Ocarina of Time has stellar gameplay. The invention of Z targeting and the new verticality in the dungeons have changed gaming forever.

    Juego de juegos, épico por donde se lo vea, un total antes y después en la industria. Hoy no hay juego de acción que no tomé inspiración de alguna forma en lo que definió Zelda. A día de hoy aun persiste en cuanto a calidad y entretenimiento.

O jogo é incrivel, ele foi quem criou a trava na mira oque deixa a jogabilidade na batalha 1000 vezes melhor, não posso deixar de citar as musicas deste jogo, que são incriveis, quando vou fazer uma tarefa ou algo do tipo eu sempre coloco essas musicas para ouvir. Os graficos não são tão bons para hoje em dia mais não posso descordar que na época que lançou eram incriveis. Agora vem um dos pontos mais fortes desse jogo, as cenas marcantes, tipo ele tirando a master sword do templo do tempo e indo pro futuro( que era algo que os jogos daquela época não faziam muito que era a viagem no tempo) mais agora vou falar algo que me fez fazer essa critica, que é: eu não passei raiva em nenhuma vez jogando esse jogo, oque os jogos de hoje em dia não tem feito muito, focar na diverção, hoje em dia os jogos estão querendo virar uma esperiencia, é sempre obrigatório você passar tanta raiva no jogo? The 3D worked for a veteran Zelda player and the reinvention was more than welcomed. Like a buddy of mine once said, before I played Ocarina, I liked video games.
