    This is absolutely disgusting. Blizzard created one of the most predatory monetization systems in the whole industry. Even japanese gacha games are more fair than this abomination of a "game".

    They literally use every psychological trick to make the player spend money.
    I highly recommend the video on youtube "The Immoral Design of Diablo Immortal".

    Shame on you blizzard. This is a new low.

    Ok iOS gameplay but this game blocks you at every turn. You get blocked/capped from resources for grinding! You have to pay to grind for the chance of better items. The further you go in this game the worse the monetisation gets. It’s appalling.

You can buy power indirectly by purchasing gems.

    To touch on my latter statement from the above. If you play the game through and through, you WILL be time gated for a month. You need gems to upgrade gear. However, by playing without the assistance of using real life money you can only obtain like... 3 gems per MONTH. But.... if you buy it all off the of the cash store well you can keep going. Blizzard implemented a "feel bad" system where if you buy a gem and it doesn't proc to an legendary gem you have to pay a little over $100 for the system to auto-proc that for you. Keep in mind that ONE proc could take $100. Now do that at least 12 times. Note! I haven't even gotten into the deeper microtransactional problems either. Haven't explored that and I never will. Miss me with all of this digesting and reprehensible system. I'm good.

    Disclaimer. Personally, I do not care about paying with real money for in-game cosmetics. You know, things that do not make your character more powerful in any way possible. I can literally care less. Even if those looks are better than anything farmable, again zero F's given.

    Final note, Diablo Immortal reviews are currently deactivated on google. You search for "diablo immortal review" and you are redirected to critic reviews. Which the world over knows they are literal shrills who have sold their souls for a $40k/salary to these degenerate gaming companies while simultaneously pretend to be the public gamers best friend.     But there's the other side.. All that shiny graphics and flashy fancy shine and cling hides a vile, microtransaction ridden hellhole (literally and figuratively as well.). You can barely notice it in the period they considering as "getting the player hooked", but experienced player can notice a few things here and there that was already introduced in other games..

    There are soo many freakin' currencies! I lost track after 30+, but I even found new ones after hitting the max level. Blizzard is of course super helpful to point you where you can BUY them for real money, all the time.. SELLING THE SOLUTIONS TO PROBLEMS THEY CREATED ON PURPOSE.

    The whole game is built around small annoyances that become bigger ones later, like upgrading items. After you upgrade your items 5 times, it gets a new random attribute. That's great, but if you don't like it or cannot use it, you cannot change it. Oh wait, you can, if you PAY FOR IT.. Otherwise the legendary item you cared for, upgraded, socketed, spent a ton of time and money to upgrade is basically a junk that you can might as well throw out. I'd have been ok with a basic random re-roll, but you cannot do that either, so pay up or thrown the item away, and get a new one..

    Elden rifts.. nice addition to the daily grind, except you don't get anything meaningful if you don't add a stone to it. You get 1 stone a day, and that yields a rift that rewards you a currency that you can use to buy 1 rune, that you can use to make 1 legendary gem eventually, that you can use to upgrade a legendary gem eventually, etc.. You see the pattern. Basic free players don't get anything but a tease..

    A lot of people would say that yeah it's a free game, but why? If this would be 20 years ago, this would be a full game that everyone can enjoy after you bought the full product. But it's 2022, and companies refuse to release anything that doesn't have recurring microtransactions in it, because that's where the money is..

    Understandable, if you are a company. But if you are just a gamer, all you see is a crappy game that was PURPOSELY made to be annoying, barely playable with capped progression, just so the company can sell you the solution for your every problem. Preferably, sell it to you every day, while you play it.

    At it's core this is a milking machine for the Chinese market, it was made and groomed to be non-offensive to their requirements, no gay people (normally this is not something I complain about but it explains a lot about how and why this "game" was made), nothing hinting at politics, China approved.

    They sent me a survey too.. First question was: did I spent any money in the store yet? I'd like to be positive about this, but I'm too old and cynical to just pass this without thinking that this is the "control question", so if you say no here, take a guess how much they care about your feedback?

    I'm sure Blizzard will make a lot of money on it, why wouldn't they, but as an older gamer who remembers the time when companies just made a game and sold a game, gods forbid, for artistic expression or because they had a good story of interesting new game mechanic.. For me, it's not acceptable. We are far from that age and I'm not sure we'll ever manage to navigate back out of the current trend of MTS ridden hellholes that Dimmortal is now the new crowned king of.     P2W garbage, but foremost don't forget the Face detection, Facial analyzer and Landmark tracker. The Devs said it should have been removed before the launch and hopefully will be removed in the future. But i don't think they will, trust NetEase at your own risk.

    Played two characters to mid 30s then hit the crazy paywall. I know this is per design but its sad and disgusting just the same. Looked into the pay to win mechanics and stopped playing. Why can't blizzard just release a mobile game that gives players 100% of the game for $30? Give players expensive cosmetics and boosters that speed up progression but don't have the progression be at aPlayed two characters to mid 30s then hit the crazy paywall. I know this is per design but its sad and disgusting just the same. Looked into the pay to win mechanics and stopped playing. Why can't blizzard just release a mobile game that gives players 100% of the game for $30?     Was all good and fun until lvl 33 where you get soft lock to hell, was planning on just completing story but cant even do that without friction. The amount of Pay to progress 1000x faster is insane.

    Diablo Immortal uses many, if not all and more, of the most blatant and egregious monetization practices to extract money from the you. It is an embarrassment that this game left development with the way it is currently monetized.

    The game is actually fun EXCEPT you get to a point you can no longer play or compete because it's completely pay 2 win! So much so that it's predatory and blizzard activision shoves it down your throat. There's more p2w options in this game than anything else it's wild, so many bundles and offers.

    Just a totally shameless cash grab. There is an okay game, but it's buried under microtransactions. Maybe CEOs can afford the end game, but not me. I will no longer be a day one player for Diablo 4. I just can't afford to risk it. I'll have to wait and see if you can just buy the game or if you also have to pay to actually play the game past a certain point.

    I'm bothered by the bland story of the world's destruction, which was vehemently influenced by the online nature and spirit of the game or the inability to change the camera. The game looks and runs very well, and you can also adjust the graphics settings on more powerful devices. I'd leave the disdain for the online elements of Diablo Immortal to the eternally doubting and overlooking, because just as you can recognize a good poem, you can recognize a fundamentally good game.     It is undeniable that Diablo Immortal's monetization system has problems and makes the more advanced stages of the adventure unpleasant, but the fact remains that the Blizzard title has brought one of the best experiences in the action RPG field to the mobile market, and it really is difficult to find on the App Store and Google Play Store another free to play with such high production values. Diablo Immortal is an excellent pastime for those who want to complete the long cooperative campaign and, above all, could represent the perfect entry point for those who have never approached the series: even without putting their wallet in, in fact, it remains a pleasant adventure to live while waiting for the fourth chapter to make its debut on the shelves.
