I agree that this level of greed from Blizzard made me furious, just like a lot of people here but really guys! Apart from the huge sums of money blizzard almost forces us to put into this game, i happen to have enjoyed the game, fun gameplay, my time on this game was really enjoyable. Stopped playing now as i don't to spend a single euro.. Hopefully Diablo 4 won't take the same path...

The gameplay is excellent. Talk about a dopamine hit.

Unfortunately, monetization represents the worst aspect of the Gaming industry in 2022. The government needs to regulate the outright gambling mechanics.

Generally playable. Gameplay is lacking. Scales enemy power to player level so no real sense of progression.

...Might as well download it and see for yourself... I suppose if you're the world's biggest D3 fan you might find enough here to keep it installed longer than I did.

Great game, a real shining example of how a paid PC title can be adapted to mobile and F2P but retain all of the fun and finesse of its big brother.

Diablo Immortal is a parody of Diablo, a walking corpse that oozes technical quality and polish, with fantastic art, visuals, music, voice acting, UI, controls, and the dark atmosphere that defines the series.

Yet it lacks all richness and depth in its systems, which were gutted to enforce the rule of linear, p2w stats. The daily activity roulette nothing more than a casino calling endlessly, "stay a while and pony up". Like a spoiled cut of fine steak whose stench betrays its sustenance.

Diablo Immortal could have been a game people didn't know they wanted. If we had a PC client that wasn't trash, if the mtx were cosmetic only like path of exile (mostly), if the itemization and skill mutations weren't gutted to enforce the rule of paid stats (resonance)... If we had an actually deep arpg in this cross-platform framework, where players could run their quick solo rifts on their lunch break break and come home and do their raids on pc. There is so much potential.

The problem is that Diablo Immortal is exactly everything PC/console gamers dreaded about the encroachment of mobile gaming: Horrifically pay to win ✅ Overly simplified mechanics ✅ daily activity spam ✅ abusive use of FOMO ✅ artificial progress blockers ✅ no concept of total access or ownership ✅. A capitalist hellhole where addicting the player to daily grind is more important than giving them an experience that is worth money. Ultimately the game is designed specifically to target whales, and is not made with the enjoyment of the user being the first and foremost concern. Actually, the game is designed specifically to create anxiety in the player about limited time offers and deals and trying to break through barriers that the game itself purposefully put in place to throttle progress. This game is not made for you to want to play, the game is designed for you to not want to put it down. And it becomes very toxic and predatory in this aim.

It is a very confusing experience, to be going through a Diablo campaign that feels so true to Diablo. It looks good, the music is incredible, the story ties in well with both Diablo 2 and Diablo 3, lots of familiar faces and places make returns. Things that only Diablo vets would recognize. And in the middle of all that, your session is interrupted by a notification "BATTLEPASS LEVEL UP, PAY FOR ACCESS!!", or "FIRST KILL OF THE DAY BONUS!" or the giant "TAP TO GET MORE" button at the bottom of literally every item in the game. Even the items are simplified to the point that the game simply tells you what to equip. There's literally no tradeoffs or decisions to make. The only things that matter are combat rating and resonance. There's also no skill runes or ways to modify skill behavior (outside of legendary equipment which is also basic).

So the evolution of gameplay and character progression puzzle that are the two main pillars of the genre have both literally been completely replaced by the simple act of stacking larger numbers, which is time gated unless you spend money, up to a maximum of $110,000 per character. So despite much of the game's technical prowess, I simply could not find myself enjoying it. All I ever think about is "what daily activity am I missing out on" rather than "I cannot wait to try out this new item/power!" In this sense, Diablo Immortal truly does feel like the walking corpse of Diablo. It looks like everything a Diablo game should be on the surface, but all the guts and complexity have been ripped out and replaced with casino games and gotchas, and it's just been propped up in the town square, a parody of what Diablo fans held dear.

I really enjoy playing this game. Graphics is absolutely gorgeous for mobile devices! Interface very comfortable. Learning curve is very accurate, not overloading you with a ton of buttons in one time. New level for a mobile games!

A simplified version on Diablo 3. Less story more grind. If you enjoyed the endgame of the previous Diablo games more than the story campaign, then this is something to sink your teeth into. If you are looking for more of the heavy and dramatic story and don't want to spend your time grinding I suggest playing what little story their is and moving on.

But... the endgame is a nonsense lottery, you get higher numbers so the monsters get higher life points, and again and again. I didn't understand the different transferts stats strategy, gems here, another thing here, too much complicated and different currencies to buy anything. At the end there is no pleasure and I stopped, I do not have any pleasure to play this compared to other games where you can still progress by yourself (with no IAP).
If Diablo IV is like that I will never start.

Better than Diablo 3, much close to Diablo2.
the main issue: strange controls when you constantly lose the mouse pointer (if on PC) and attack focus of your character, so it is absolutely unclear which monster is in the focus of attack if it is at all in the focus.

While this game certainly pushes micro transactions onto the player during a playthrough I was able to avoid them during my first week of play. I did decide to purchase the battle pass because I believe developers deserve to be paid and I will always support the artists who make the games that I enjoy. The multiplayer aspect has been great. It works very well.

Finished the main story. Pretty good for a mobile version, but hit a few points where I wasn’t high enough level to continue the story, and didn't like those points doing random stuff to level.

The game itself is really good. It's working perfectly on iOS, the graphics are great and so is the peformance. It's a great mix of Diablo 3 and World of Warcraft. Crossplay and crosssave work great between PC and phones. Unfortunately, the real endgame is locked unless you are willing to pay thousands of dollars in microtransactions.

This game clearly not great, but it's not as terrible as everyone says it is. P2W doesn't get in the way if you're only interested in PVE and I'd say it's pretty typical for a mobile projects this days. The graphics could be better as you can see that the picture is not rendered at full resolution, but the rest of the game looks pretty nice.

As a casual gamer who played D1,2&3, I like the game. There's lots of people crying about the P2W aspect of the game, which is annoying but I'm probably never going to get to the stage where real end-level gear matters, so it doesn't really matter to met as a player. If I get to a stage where I genuinely feel hindered by the P2W crap, I'll change my review but at the moment, it's a funAs a casual gamer who played D1,2&3, I like the game. This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. I personally don't have a care for people who want to just put themselves on a ban vagon just to hate a game because micro transactions. Personally I've been waiting for Diablo as a live service game, and as far as it goes for those "micro transactions" they are not overly taxed on a player. You may pay or skip them entirely it's "your choice". I personally love to put my money into a game especially if i like what is done with the game. Only in past 2 years I've put probably around 1000 Eur in DLC content for games i bought and still play, also in micro transactions for virtual currency for cosmetics and additional content as the game developer's progressed them.
Bottom line is STOP ATTACKING GAMING COMPANIES AND DEVELOPER TEAMS IF YOU DON'T LIKE HIW THEY MADE THE GAME. The planet is fortunately not revolving around you.

Apparently there're some news that the Immortal has depressed some 'Diablo fans'. As a fan of its series, I think it's defenitely worth a try! It's exactly what I expected. It supports gamepad! That’s so cool!

I downloaded the game and gave a try after reading an article that comments it is just a RNG game. Well, that article couldn't be more wroing. I'd have to admit that the graphics are so nice! I can play it fluently. Every detail is great in game and the graphics are in high resolution which is insanely amazing!

Although Immortal was accused of a 'cost too much' 'money-grabbed game', this game is absolutely worth a try. I just played it for a whole day and I am truly addictive into it. I hope there will be more gameplays in the future. I can play it FOREVER!!!

Игра проходного уровня . Прошёл без единого доната и задрочества . Близзам следовало анонсировать 4-ю часть сперва , а потом эту донатную помойку, которая в принципе приносит неплохие деньги

The first Diablo games were great and I really was looking forward for some Hack n Slash action to go. And the beginning feels great. Sadly it becomes a disgusting cash grab and worst of all: pay to win. Cool for some hours but I can't support this moral. Overall rating: 5.7.

I really enjoyed the quick levelling up and how my skills and equipment got better, my character stronger. Working out what playstyle would fit my Crusader and how to develop the related stats was also fun. I did not particularly mind the shorter grindy parts in-between the story as they only hindered my playthrough insignificantly. However, after reaching Paragon level the game suddenly and shockingly quickly turns into a neverending and tedious grind, without much to do. Earning meaningful legendary gear also becomes frustrating and a long process, clearly aimed at pushing microtransactions on players. Overall, the core game is really fun and got me interested in playing Diablo IV, but I can only recommend playing Immortal until you reach level 60.

I'm bothered by the bland story of the world's destruction, which was vehemently influenced by the online nature and spirit of the game or the inability to change the camera. The game looks and runs very well, and you can also adjust the graphics settings on more powerful devices. I'd leave the disdain for the online elements of Diablo Immortal to the eternally doubting and overlooking, because just as you can recognize a good poem, you can recognize a fundamentally good game. To see it submit to mobile gaming's worst tendencies, rather than make any effort to be different, to be better, is galling. It may be flashy and efficient as both a Diablo game and a mobile game, but Immortal offers little that is bold, ambitious or innovative. Instead, its structure and pacing is designed with one goal in mind: to squeeze as much cash out of every player as it can. [Issue#374, p.110]

It is undeniable that Diablo Immortal's monetization system has problems and makes the more advanced stages of the adventure unpleasant, but the fact remains that the Blizzard title has brought one of the best experiences in the action RPG field to the mobile market, and it really is difficult to find on the App Store and Google Play Store another free to play with such high production values. Diablo Immortal is an excellent pastime for those who want to complete the long cooperative campaign and, above all, could represent the perfect entry point for those who have never approached the series: even without putting their wallet in, in fact, it remains a pleasant adventure to live while waiting for the fourth chapter to make its debut on the shelves.
