No point in playing a game about grinding and luck and time if you can just skip to the end by spending money. Not to mention timegating fun/experience gains/pvp etc. No fun to be had here. You either don’t spend money and make no progress or you do spend a TON of money and the progress feels worthless. It’s what we call a Lose/Lose.… Expand

    Diablo Immortal uses many, if not all and more, of the most blatant and egregious monetization practices to extract money from the you. It is an embarrassment that this game left development with the way it is currently monetized.

    Look, just the fact that it’s on mobile means it’s a blatant cash grab from the start, but then you toss in the micro-transactions and it only gets MUCH worse. The game itself lacks imagination, and I’ll never adjust to touch screen controls. Diablo and Blizzard are dead, have been for a while. It’s time to ignore them and move on.

I don't even understand how monetization this egregious can be legal. And it's a right shame because if you took out all the monetization aspects, you would be left with a decently enjoyable game.     Graphically he delivers what was expected, mechanically he is the same thing as the other diablo. The plot doesn't innovate much, but there's also nothing to innovate in diablo, it's the usual, beating up on a demon, exploring, picking up some items... some really interesting dialogues, but in the end it's as if we were watching the same thing.    Satisfactory, delivers what it promises.

    Game looks great and game play is fine. Good things are just nothing when You need to spend 100k to max Your ONE character. Gems for money IS BUYING GEAR - BLIZZARD.

    ( You can spend apr. 500000 Dollars to max out your chars. )

    This game was fun. Until the realization that there is leaderboards for both pve and pvp that you as an average person will never reach. Why? Because you have to pay large sums (20+ dollars) for chances on gear and or currency grinds.     The game produces graphical artifacts which make the game unplayable on many Samsung devices, including my Galaxy M31, which is neither very cheap or very old(a 2020 model), and this problem seems prominent on tons of phones like this. Please, don't waste your money on this. I thought nothing could be worse than Warcraft 3 Reforged launch, but this is it.

    This game has an excellent UI/UX, looks nice and respects Diablo lore... BUT its p2w design is insane and should not even be allowed. Just google "the immoral design of diablo immortal" and enjoy :(

    Was excited to have a casual mobile version of one of my favorite childhood IP's however I cannot justify even downloading it considering the predatory monetization by Activision blizzard. I've been on the fence with them of late and this is seriously the last straw for me. They'll never get another cent of mine.

I get that its an iOS game and "F2P" (heavy emphasis on the quotes there...) and that they have to make money for the game, but the predatory tactics that they have instilled into this game along with the manipulation of high rewards for spending money are horrific.

    Quite possibly, the greatest game ever made.

    Diablo Immortal truly has it all, crazy enemies, cool abilities, and microtransactions that are totally fair and acceptable.

    You'd have to be a real stick in the mud to not be down with this game, know what I'm sayin?

    THE GOOD: The phone gameplay and feel of a Diablo game are very fun and well done. People will complain about boss mechanics or bugs here and there but they're probably playing on PC which is technically in the BETA stage. I like the amount of progression in the game and all the different systems give you a lot to work on.
    THE BAD: Actually progressing    I'm giving this a 2 based on....
    THE GOOD: The phone gameplay and feel of a Diablo game are very fun and well done. People will complain about boss mechanics or bugs here and there but they're probably playing on PC which is technically in the BETA stage. I like the amount of progression in the game and all the different systems give you a lot to work on.

    THE BAD: Actually progressing these systems properly will take forever to grind or spending a lot of money to progress normally. I knew ahead of time that the phone game MTXs would be ridiculous but the auction house tax is the cherry on top.
    -The story - I was very lucky and got a 5 star gem drop and I decided to sell the gem on the auction house instead of using it. There was gold "fee" just to post the item, this sucks but i was used to this fee while playing WoW, but then It sold and then i had to wait about 18 hours or so to get the in game currency. Why is there a wait?? THEN when the time was up (the next day) they charged another 15% of the price as a "transaction fee".
    SO....that's a day of waiting and 2 auction charges to use an in game system which uses in-game fake currency. Why is there a tax on this again?? And are they saving up this fake currency themselves. It's not like they're actually losing anything. It's just another way to ruin another system in a game that should be fun. This was only one issue i had with the monetization in the game but it really hit home when it wasn't about me spending my money, IT WAS THEM TAKING MONEY!    … Expand

    This is by far the worst Pay to Win game I've ever seen and the Dev's on this game clearly understand what they are doing. This kinda game making needs to stop. I played 5 min of it and on top of the micro transactions it to me is just a Diablo 3 re-skin. Blizzard in the Warcraft 3 days was the golden era for the company now I have to say it's by far the worst company with this game.

    Than comes the monetization. It's everywhere, it's absolutely necessary to stay competitive and it has hidden gates that you only notice when you are already inside the matrix.
    Just some examples:
    - Raids are gated by gear - sry, gem quality. You don't have the rating? No raidloot for you.
    - Wording on sales: You can buy this 5 star gem on 3 stars for 39,99 € ... oh wait, to get it there, we forgot to tell you that you have to buy the simpler version for only 29,99 € - but wasn't that obvious? No, it wasn't? You spend 39,99? Don't you want the promised 3/5 star gem? Go spend another 29,99!
    - Most other mobile games have a customer service that can easily be contacted. This game doesn't. Guess why.
    - You did get that gem to rank 5? Now get it to 10 ... ok, now awaken your gear (15 € per item) = at least 90 € only for your maingear - hoho, we ain't selling gear, only awakened gear, hohoho. Ah, now you can add another 5 gems up to rank 10 for another 45.000,00 €; Enjoy the spending. Btw. you won't know about this until you reach the necessary rank on your gem, eg. have spend a couple of 1000 € already.

    Even worse than this is the blatant arrogance of the game developers who keep calling their customers idiots, **** and liars - although probably the same is rather true for themselves?

    The game killed diablo for me and it killed Blizzard for me. I didn't expect much of Activision, but I expected more from MICROSOFT - aren't they active yet?!
    I only can recommend deinstalling this and any Blizzard game for the near future.
    If you follow suit is up to you, but don't let them play you for a fool, they don't understand any other language but money.    … Expand

    Diablo Immortal is a violation of that mission statement. This is a game where they made gameplay juuuuust good enough that you could witness the genuinely enjoyable gameplay you could get if you pay them money, constantly. The guys throwing down tons of money are getting the "games as fun as possible" experience. The guys not throwing money are getting a "games just good enough" experience. And what a shame. This is a well crafted, beautiful, and enjoyable game except for the ridiculously excessive monetization. I bought X-Com 1 & 2, and Civilization 6 for my iPad, happily. They devs of those games didn't have anything on their agendas but "make it awesome." Blizzard could have done that. They could have charged us what they'd have charged for a full Diablo game. They could have said, "the opening is free but each subsequent chapter is a purchase" (like Space Marshalls does). But instead they said, "all those really terrible PTW games out there?... let's see if we can out-do every one of them."    … Expand

After they catfish you on gameplay of main campaign the scam become obvious. End gameplay is you paying money to Blizzard and their corporate wallets.     Gameplay-wise it is just a mega dumbed-simplified-up version of the other diablo games, there is no builds, every skill points is auto-assigned on level up.
    The only thing this game have going on is "cool visuals and cinematics" thats all... pure eyecandy for blizzard fanboys to open their wallets.

    The main problem is the P2W aggressiveness and predatory practices which ruins every aspect of the game. In the back of your head every hour you put into this game, you know someone is already months or years ahead of you just because they opened their wallet and spent 1000s. So what is the point in playing if you're not willing to pay? It's a WASTE OF TIME. You cannot win in PVP unless there are whales in your group. You cannot get great legendary gems because they cannot drop for you as a free to play player, only certain low star gems. The aggressive caps prevent you making any decent progression for free, a paywall is hidden almost at every corner and blatantly in your face. Winning wars as shadows/immortals a core feature to the game will come down to paying, battlegrounds comes down to paying, getting the best PVE gear and higher content is down to paying. As a free to play player there is simply no real way to get a decent footing in the game. You pay or you lose. At least you can enjoy the story mode for free. And even if you're going to pay, how long until new content makes what you paid for obsolete? It will happen, its just a matter of time.

    DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME on this game. The flaws outweigh any good the game has. The game has many systems and surprisingly in-depth, however to scratch past the service is nigh on impossible for free to play players as getting some of the resources required will take you longer than what realistically is realistic. Blizzard dropped the ball with this one and went in on the greed. You have lost a customer and I will not be logging into any of your games anytime soon. This will be a lesson they probably wont learn from. Enjoy the easy millions in the beginning, but I hope most abandon this within the opening months and leave this dirtpile where it belongs, in Hell. FOR SHAME TO THIS COMPANY!    … Expand

I'm not against paying money, but this is a practiced and methodical money grab with all the psychological tricks of rewards and dopamine that is shameless in it's practice. And so, you'll think that paying will be the way to avoid this wall, or you'll just renounce this activity knowing that it could have been fun.
    Do we still need to talk about drop rates and gems ?

    In any shape or form D:I is a game by Bli$$ard : pay or get frustrated very quicly, or bored, in my case. I don't have impulse-buy problems. When I decide not to pay, my decision is easily taken and will not change. And it sure is a free game, so we all have the CHOICE to pay or not, and how we face that choice is another matter to discuss. The fact is that the items you need to reach your maximum potential (the gems) are placed behind huge pay walls, that or a lifetime of luck, which is not likely to happen. It's a free game only if you want to follow the story, know a bit more lore, or taste [a light asian mmo with the assets of] diablo with touch controls. If you aim to fully grind the end-game (both pve & pvp) and ENJOY it with the char you're playing, then your primary, secondary, and ultimate skill will be cc, credit card. Use it elsewhere or give your other diablo chars the second youth they surely deserve in comparison.    … Expand

    I'm bothered by the bland story of the world's destruction, which was vehemently influenced by the online nature and spirit of the game or the inability to change the camera. The game looks and runs very well, and you can also adjust the graphics settings on more powerful devices. I'd leave the disdain for the online elements of Diablo Immortal to the eternally doubting and overlooking, because just as you can recognize a good poem, you can recognize a fundamentally good game.     It is undeniable that Diablo Immortal's monetization system has problems and makes the more advanced stages of the adventure unpleasant, but the fact remains that the Blizzard title has brought one of the best experiences in the action RPG field to the mobile market, and it really is difficult to find on the App Store and Google Play Store another free to play with such high production values. Diablo Immortal is an excellent pastime for those who want to complete the long cooperative campaign and, above all, could represent the perfect entry point for those who have never approached the series: even without putting their wallet in, in fact, it remains a pleasant adventure to live while waiting for the fourth chapter to make its debut on the shelves.
