Brave Frontier is one of those games that for a free to play player, you need to invest time to get the game right on track. Beating epic bosses, going through vortex and attempt to capture new Heroes to be summoned. Despite its initial problem Gumi and Alim had stepped up to fix the problem and had provided generous amount of reward to the players, gems, free keys for vortex dungeon, free material units, even free Heroes if you archieve certain events. However all these is not achievable in just a few days, this is the kind of game that required the player to invest in their time building up your pitiful heroes made up of small slimes and grow into Heroes epic in power and design.

You started off with very basic units, ya basic as hell, you are task to defeat the soul of Gaia. Capturing those tiny units and use them in hope you able to capture stronger units. Around autumn 2014, Gumi had updated the game to include daily task, which allows you to perform numerous missions to collect points, in which there are the cumulative reward and the trophy reward. Gems, helpful consumable and summon tickets are there for the taking if you are patient enough.

It had the addictive gameplay that kept pulling me back. As I collected enough gems and summon tickets, I use them to summon the Rare Summon, and the event is Soul Bound Saga, both Ultor and Triton are beef enough heroes, after summoning a few unwanted(but actually very good heroes) I got them both. From a free to play player perspective, wow I feel real good about myself. Sure the luck and random number of god keep on taunting you, but Gumi at least make it possible to give you your first epic summon on your first try.

This is the game where you need to play for a year to see your team becoming something of a monster. Pummeling bosses in one turn without a sweat, beating impossible bosses with the right team and ally, collecting more material to strengthen your new Heroes, capture more heroes and finally realized you need to spend a few gems to make spaces to repeat the addicting process above.

I understand why games like Brave Frontier, Tower of Savior or Clash of Clans are able to keep their players beyond being called evil cash grab cheapskate, cause as they are required to maintain a huge server, they will reward players constantly to keep you happy, while most will be free to play, player will eventually play money to gain better rewards, however is a matter of luck and balance. I as a free to play players had created a team of Heroes that allow me to go through 126 win streak in an arena match until my team met their end against another free to play players(a friend of mine).

Remember, this is not a game where reward comes instantaneously, you will be playing for sometime before seeing the gold chest unleashing rainbow unicorns and colorful ponies! But even if you start now, you still able to get the reward more easily compared to the previous years, better missions and more balance gameplay.

Having a special liking to all games that are similar to the classic “JRPGs” which just means Japanese role-playing games such as, Pokémon: Black and White and Paper Mario. This game is also infused “trading card games” inspirations. These two ideas that are incorporated into the game is what made me rush to my phone to download the app.
Similar to other Japanese role-playing games, there is the battles between the good and bad side, the heroes and villains, the group of players attempting to save the world against those that want to make it all evil and destructive. As always also the player is part of “the good guys”. The player is provided with a guide to instruct about everything including the landscape, characters, backstory and information about the prizes the player may receive throughout the progress made. At the beginning I started with novice players. They are not the best but they are the only ones that were given to me so I accepted the challenge to make them the best and win the first battles.
This game also features characters from four elements. There is water, fire, earth and thunder. Also there is the light or dark characters. Each element has its strengths and weaknesses. For example, water characters are vulnerable to thunder but water characters are damaging to fire characters. Likewise the light characters can only make significant damage to the dark and vice-versa.
There are several reasons for what I believe makes this an addicting game and keeps me glued to the screen of my phone for literally hours upon hours. First, it doesn’t have to be played solo. You can add your Facebook friends or friend request people through the app to allow them to help you throughout the game. Secondly, it keeps you coming back for me because unlike other games that can be played until you eventually are tired and no longer find it appealing, Brave Frontier doesn’t do that. There is an energy bar that runs out and without energy you cannot participate in battles. However, the game developers must have thought that if players were not allowed to play due to the energy bar restriction, they should have something else that would still allow them to play the game while the energy bar was refilled. So as a result, you can manage your units which are the characters you acquire after a successful battle. Also you can produce new items that heal and power up your characters. So not everything is ruined when you run out of energy. This can actually be appreciable for the reason that players like myself will forget that there is still a real world we live in and that we need to rest and eat.
When returning to the game again, I am encountered by presents from other players that have become my friends. Honestly, I become delighted when receiving these. Which in return makes me keep continuing to play Brave Frontier. I recommend this game to all Pokémon lovers as it can be greatly similar. This game is also a great way to learn strategy that can be applied elsewhere. I thoroughly enjoy this game and hope I have made an informative and thorough review that will interest others in Brave Frontier.

I'm speaking from 4+ months of experience when I say that Brave Frontier is easily the best mobile RPG on the market. It's very fun and so easy to come back to, with a plethora of new content coming out each month, and the developers are some of the best I've seen, very quickly dealing with issues and helping and rewarding players to the best of their extent to make the game as appealing and fair as possible.
I'll admit right now that yes, cash whales sometimes do have an advantage over normal players in the game, but those are cases where an event is happening, and a certain amount of players who gained the most points get special rewards, and in those cases, the cash whales simply keep using their money to keep playing the game until they're at the top. But those are the only cases where cash whales truly have a definitive advantage.
The game itself is simple, but done incredibly well. The player is given a detailed and very helpful tutorial and a starting unit to start off, and from there, they're given gems to help them get units so start their adventure. To get new units that can't be normally acquired in quests, you have to use 5 gems - the in game paid currency - to summon one unit. The game has a huge plethora of units, so there's no specific guarantee of anything, and the developers host special events to give players better chances of getting certain units at certain times. Gems cost money, but can be earned otherwise. The player can earn gems by clearing full areas in the game's normal adventure, or by beating the last level of certain vortex dungeons, which are extra missions players can embark on to get specific items or units to help them get stronger. Now, people do say that cash whales have an advantage over normal players, but I can say from experience, that it is very far from the truth. Gems can be earned pretty quickly to start off, and gems are regularly given away in many different events. I've played the game for 4+ months, and I've spent less than $50 on the game, and I've reached the same heights as cash whales.
The game's difficulty does increase as the player progresses, and it can be very difficult. When I first started, I had immense trouble, but when I discovered the metal parade - a special vortex dungeon that allows you to acquire special fusion units, which are used to level other units up, which immediately boosted my levels and my units' strength and forms, and I was instantly back in action, and better than ever. The special vortex missions and events help players to progress rather quickly, and as long as the player knows what to do, they'll have few real troubles.

I can't give as good of an objective and properly structured review than other people, but I can give an honest opinion that's developed from months of experience, that this game is the best in its market and one of the best mobile games to this date, as well as future dates. It's immensely fun, easy to pick up, as fair as can be, challenging, colorful, and it is continuously growing and getting better. This game is a masterpiece of its kind.

It’s got its heart in the right place aspiring to be like the Final Fantasy or Xenoblade series, but it’s still caught up in the platform paradigms we know all too well. In other words, it’s fine for its time, just not timeless.
