The Witcher is the most disappointing project of the year. I can make a long list of disadvantages, including characters miscast, armor design, SJW propaganda and many other things, but they really doesn't matter in this case. I mean - you can find the perfect actors for the characters, wear them the most canonic suites and make the best picture, but will it help? No. And the main fail of the Whitcher is scenario. The scenarists seems to be very "special gifted" people. They ruined very deep and interesting book stories and what did they make instead? It's a big bunch of **** with no logic, ruined characters, convoluted timeline. The only emotion i have after saw it is disgust.… Expand

I liked only Geralt, Yen, Vesemir, Jaskier and Triss. Nice fights and monsters. The second season was very weak and boring. Without the characters listed previously, it would be 1/10. As a fan of the books and games, this is great. The casting, fight choreography, and cinematics are on par with Game of Thrones. However, it jumps back and forth between scenes that took place decades ago, and scenes taking place at Ciri'sAs a fan of the books and games, this is great. The show is alright not that good I can't bring myself to enjoy the show, but somehow, There are things very unacceptable, they Hollywood the series or Americanized I would say, To diversity but unnecessary, The director seems to mess around with the timeline by putting Geralt in the past and Yen way in the past and Ciri in the future, and someone merge Ciri timeline with Geralt timeline, They put random black people in Middle Age European want to mess with the series but let's be real here everyone who is the fan of Witcher yall want a redhead Triss (But the book is reddish hair and chestnut) and good looking Yennefer right (with excellent acting skills ofc), Maybe we should turn Geralt black too. The show is super cheap CGI and costumes are pretty **** Henry Cavil did a wonderful job, but the rest didn't do that great, Feel bad for Henry, I think Netflix spend all their money on him or something… Expand

The parts of Yennefer and Geralt are good, and the actor and actress perform very well in my opinion. But the timeline and most characters' relationship are not good. They tried to make you feels sad when some character die, but you might not have time to know these character. And even though I think Yen's part are good, this character isn't charming as she is in the original books and games. She's childish, cynical. The show didn't convinced me, that she is the woman who Geralt would suddenly falls in love with her.

And I don't thing people who hasn't read the original books or played the games will fully understand what happened in the show. Because they cut a lot of important and key in formations out, like what is a witcher, where they come, why people hate them, what is Dryad, why human fears them(they looks like normal human in the show)...etc.

The musics and battle scene are good. But the visual effects feels very cheap.

Overall, it's not a bad show, but is not good as well.… Expand

Slower beginning, but great characters, interesting stories and amazing fight scenes definitely made up for it. I think casting was done almost perfectly and I’m in awe of Geralt’s and Yenn’s actors acting skills.

After the sixth episode that i just watch i got a pretty good idea of what that serie is all about and has a fan of geralt of rivia i can't be more mixed in my feelings than right now about the show, alot of peoples was comparing or was expecting a show of the quality of game of thrones and sadly it really isn't in fact it is a complete mess, the really fast pacing of each episode don't even let time to characters to establish themselve,jaskier become the best friend of geralt in the fifth episode they just met and the show already pretend that they are the best friends in the world,the first time that geralt and yenefer met they became super rapidly close and bang with passion, yenefer pass from the dumbest sorceress with no knowledge almost at all of magic to the wisest with powerful power and she know everything about monster lore in only four episode,theres any narrator at the begining of episode to tell the story, it would have be so much better it had one, that show feel rushed and unforgiving to any true fan, i can atleast say that henry cavill is deep into the character of geralt and his fightings scenes are incredible i rewind the fighting scenes to rewatch them how much they were stunning,when geralt hunt monters they are great i love the cgi,for me its really disappointing,they should have done it right with a better focus on geralt hunting adventure, they should have done it more in the way of the tv serie of hercules from the early 20s.… Expand

You can't change minds with your films if people don't want to watch it. If they spent a little more effort and screen time to dig into the story and a tad less on their political touch points, this can really benefit. The monster CGI fights also needed some better direction. Don't let the terri-bad first fight scene in Episode 1 put you off, it does get much better.… Expand

There are many really stupid phrases that can only be understood in the context of the endless chatter of the gamers in front of the video game screen. On that altar Henry Cavill has been sacrificed, to whom I send a warm hug because he should be the next James Bond, and to all of us, who should already ask Netflix for the complaint form for this crap.… Expand

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. I haven't read any of the books. I played a couple hours of Witcher 3. So to me this show is a bit confusing at times. It's entertaining though. I think Superman does a good job playing the Witcher overall. Yennefer is the best character by far at this point. She is much better then I thought she was going to be. Her storyline is interesting. The monster fights in this show are cool. A couple of the fight scenes felt realistic and are brutal. The only thing that took me out of this show was some of the forced feminist bs.. To start this show has a Queen in charge who is Queen Calanthe. She is the worst character in the show by far. At the beginning they show her in battle. Sorry but it's laughable that a old Queen is actually fighting. She does jump out a window and kills herself so. Unfortunately they show her in a flashback scene fighting again... This flashback scene in episode 4 about Pavetta was so confusing to me. I had to go on YouTube and figure out what was happening. This will confuse people who haven't read the books or played the games. It's the origin story on how Ciri became Geralts child of surprise, Pavetta is in love with a knight who is cursed and causes him to look like a hedgehog.. This flashback scene is poorly set up for people like myself who don't know these characters. Episode 5 was great. It kind of reminded me of the show Supernatural. Episode 6 starts out kind of woke with these two black women Taia and Vaia. They kill a man trying to steal Geralts horse. They are Borch Three Jackdaws bodyguards or something. You can tell this show is ran by women lol Anyways he wants Geralt to join his team to hunt dragons. He agrees because Yennefer is also going with another team. Jackdaws and his two female bodyguards fall off a mountain on the way. But they return at the end of the episode. Jackdaws is in the form of a gold dragon. This was actually pretty cool. He knew Geralt would help protect them from the dragon hunt. This show is like a mix between Elder Scrolls,Supernatural and GOT. The relationship between Geralt and Yennefer is a strong point in this show. I like that Geralt tells her that she's important to him because his nights used to be restless but now he can sleep. She really makes him happy. Although I thought rest was one of his wishes from the previous episode. Episoďe 7 shows the full events of the end of episode 1. Episode 8 was good overall. Kind of reminded me of Harry Potter. But it might as well be called Yennefer. She is the best character and has the most screen time. Her **** were massive in episode 8. I'm not complaining about that. And her powers are cool. She used this fire attack and killed a tone of guys in ballsack armor. Ya the ballsack armor looks so bad.. This show has a extremely diverse cast. At times it does feel forced because it is. It's going to piss some people off. This is a show made by far left feminist. Can't I get away from this??? I'm really getting sick of it... I just watched Star Wars... You would think Hollywood would learn by now... Everything has to be woke and diverse. Even when it hurts the story and characters... I will say this show does have a couple good episodes. And some of the diverse characters are good. But it makes the show feel off at times. Mimi Ndiweni who plays Fringilla is a great example of this. She really felt out of place in the last episode. Bad casting job. It's not a great show. It's not terrible. But it's worth a watch.… Expand

Так же испоганили 2-й сезон "Американских Богов" со своей тупой пропагандой. Хотите пропагандировать толерантность, ок я не против, но придумайте что-то новое, оригинальные сюжеты, а не просто менять расу уже существующих персонажей. Что дальше, король Артур - индус, Геркулес - азиат? Поэтому у людей и горит, потому что это все нелепо. Возвращаясь к сериалу, я ничего не имею против цветных героев, но они просто не вписываются, по крайней мере на том материке где происходят события.… Expand

Do not stop after watching 2 episodes. The first 2 episodes are just terrible. And in my opinion the third to fifth arent great as well but they feel like they are meant for soemthing better. They tried to introduce so many different characters. Annoying, dumb charcters i didnt care for. But also they did some speedrun with the development of Yennefer and Geralt. The saved the whole dilemma. There was a point in episode 6, when everything made sens. The characters started to feel more immersive. The story started to take off and so did the characters.

This season felt way too much like GoT. Also the looks of season one arent the greatest all the time. Sets looked so nice, that they where like plastic. Some characters are annoying and badly written (like this review). Hopefully there will be more witcher time in the future.

First two episodes easily 1 star.
3 - 5 gets around 2,5 to 3 stars.
But from there on its really really great. No annoying scenes, no nonsense. I started to assemble a timeline. Just a great adventure starting to get steamy! After all i loved it!… Expand

Wäre die Geschichte deutlich besser, oder gleich chronologisch. Also Story gut, die Erzählungsart sehr gewöhnungsbedürftig.… Expand

Other than being pissed, I'm DISAPPOINTED. Bad acting and directing. Weak as **** writing. Seen better costumes in Cosplay pics. How's that happen? CGI looks like crap, too.

SHOW IS RACIST. It demeans PoC by giving PoC roles that were white when Netflix should have given PoC original roles. If you're going to represent, represent legit. I am really amazed by this show. I read all the books and also played the games and I must say they really delivered. Binged all 8 episodes today and I especially love Geralt in the Show and especially his dynamic with Dandelion(Jaskier).I am really amazed by this show. One of the best high fantasy series I've watched in a very long time. I was not a GoT fan, as it's court drama was too melodramatic for me. The Witcher is a completely different breed, and I love it for that.

Ignore the low review trolls, this is a solid fantasy series with great production and decent writing. Cavill nails the role as do the actresses playing lead roles. It really has everything you want from the witcher: gore, blood, fights, a good story, characters, lore, sex and so on. How can this show be boring? It's impossible to not follow it because it's so packed, hence the only 8 episodes. If you are a fan of the Witcher games, or the Witcher books, this is the show for you. It is an amazing story, and the characters are well portrayed by the actors. For some reason some of the characters being Black bothers people I guess? LolIf you are a fan of the Witcher games, or the Witcher books, this is the show for you. Anyway this isn't Batwoman, there is no left wing political nonsense going on, just straight Witcher action. Henry Caville potrays Geralt perfectly. I can't wait for season 2! Netflix is terrible when it comes to movie adaptions, but this show adaption is amazing. I mean unless you have a problem with people with a different skin pigmentation like most of these 0-reviewers. You will not be disappointed!… Expand

The choreography is also some of if not the best I have seen with sword play, many brutal kills and believable fight scenes. Can't wait to see what's in store for Season 2 and really hope the show finds a strong following for more thereafter.… Expand
