Based on the initial episodes, Cavill could leave on a relatively high note, thanks to a tighter, more focused third season, at least initially, than the second offered.
-
The first half of 'The Witcher' season 3 has no intention of tying off any of its many plot threads, but it does at least set the stage for a barnstorming finale for Henry Cavill's Geralt of Rivia.
-
On its own, volume 1 is a fairly well-crafted beginning to the season, giving us most things we could want from The Witcher and raising the stakes as we knew it would.
-
The double-crossing and backroom plotting grows so prodigious and repetitive you practically have to keep it all written down in a notebook to keep it straight, if you even care about it at all. Blissfully, “The Witcher” remains watchable (witchable?) when it turns its camera back to our happy witching family.
-
Yet for all those plusses, The Witcher struggles once more to tell a coherent story – even the subplots have subplots. Maybe Cavill is leaving at the right time.
