The episode begins perhaps slightly too low with minimal development...followed by a middle that is perhaps slightly too rushed with some sequences coming off sloppy...but then something happens and it finds proper footing. The episode was kept simple and to the point clocking in at 40 minutes... which is just about enough time to establish the universe and profession we follow our protagonist traversing, but perhaps not enough time to establish heart or investment. At first, admittedly, it doesn't seem like there's much under the mask for a titular character. However, by the time we reach the closing credits we realize there's definitely a person behind that cold gaze and dry dialogue, and that this series is clearly about exploring who that person is... as well as the implications his own developments may have on the universe around him. As Star Wars' first leap into live-action series, so far so good-enough. A "western" set in the Star Wars universe sounds good on paper and I'm fairly optimistic that it'll look good on my screen too. Expand

The Good:
The Mandalorian starts out great and allows for great plot development and character-building, along with a welcome return of solid practical effects.

The Bad:
The plot doesn't extend much beyond that.
Interesting characters encountered are often discarded immediately and the viewer is consistently treated as if suffering from acute dementia: (Repeatedly reminding them of past events or character's customs well after they've been established.)
The writers must have double standards: Star Wars tech is proudly presented with staggering demonstrations of power/force. But whenever this force turns itself against any of the protagonists it is conveniently swept under the rug. (Nope those enemy soldiers were never there! No, he can't be hit, he as plot armor!)
The Storytelling is reminiscent of the A-Team.

Season 3: It's not a Mandalorian series anymore, it's more like a bad cosplay convention.

The first two seasons were totally amazing, but unfortunately, the third season is a complete joke. Pedro Pascal's Mandalorian has turned into a real dud, just like his character Joel in The Last of Us series. I mean, come on, Pedro, can you please play a hero that actually does something?

And don't get me started on the Mandalorian's pretentious gait. It used to be so cool and mysterious, but now it looks like he's trying to strut down the catwalk. The cinematography that used to make his walk look cool now makes him look like a joke.

The Mandalorian Brotherhood looked like a bunch of cosplay fans in their budget-friendly costumes. The worst part is that the show doesn't even feel like a Mandalorian series anymore. Some episodes revolve around completely different characters, and even when the Mandalorian does show up, he's not even the main focus of the story. It's like they forgot what made the show so great in the first place.

I'm so disappointed that I had to change my rating from 10 stars to one star. This garbage that they call season 3 should have been a completely separate series altogether.

I wish I could rate the third season specifically, but unfortunately, I can't.

Overall, The Mandalorian season 3 is a huge disappointment. I had high hopes for this series, but unfortunately, it has completely missed the mark. If you're a fan of the first two seasons, you might want to skip this one.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. It is okay of a series. The first two episodes was good and I liked the episode where they were on that planet with the village, then that’s where episodes got very sporadic and bland. The only good filler episode in my opinion was the prison break. The season finale was very underwhelming and also cheesy at the same time. They need to do a better job of character development and back story instead of just feeding us baby yoda segments in my opinion Expand

Continuing in the not-so-recent Walt Disney custom of terrible plot points, horrible pacing, lack of suspense and, to top it all off, a narcissistic need to ram political ideologies down you and your children’s throats, “Star Wars: TheContinuing in the not-so-recent Walt Disney custom of terrible plot points, horrible pacing, lack of suspense and, to top it all off, a narcissistic need to ram political ideologies down you and your children’s throats, “Star Wars: The Mandalorian” squanders its intriguing premise and massive potential thru a complete lack of creativity, a dumbed down script, and the company’s desperation to make money at the cost of the consumer instead of presenting a proper product. Make no mistake, this Star Wars production falls very much in line with its parent company’s usual procedure: plagiarize from every genre and source of popular media available while carefully avoiding any proper homage to its sources. “The Mandalorian” borrows scenes, dialogue, characters and environments from old westerns as well as endless other sitcoms, movies, and culture references, without making a clear fact of it to the viewer. English teachers and professors across the continental United States are, doubtless, nauseated with their faces in their palms, disheartened and furious at how Jon Favreau and his host of editors could have possibly been hired to write for such a legacy intellectual property while failing to do justice to the English language the way ANY High schooler would.
The fact that much of Disney’s film and television programming is directed at children is NO excuse for pathetic dialogue and poor script writing in their more recent productions. Furthermore, children do NOT need you to dumb down the plot, and past generations of Disney story tellers knew this fact intrinsically: presenting the power of death in “Bambi” and “Up”, family in “Mary Poppins”, romance in “Pocahontas” and the need to mature in “Tarzan” and “The Lion King”. The ancient trope of the Wild West gunman that brings peace to the frontier is lost in “The Mandalorian” as our hero is quickly saddled by “Baby Yoda” and its sudden and immense popularity, which caused Lucasfilm producers and executives to scramble to make a profit at any and all costs. This neo-western suddenly became a nanny’s tale instead of the perilous frontier showdown it was intended to be. Finally, in typical “Woke” fashion, “The Mandalorian” pays little or no respect to its source, losing the gravitas thru narrative which Steven Spielberg perfected in the early “Star Wars” movies, instead choosing to meander meekly thru numerous side characters and unrelated issues. A true anthology series would have presented these stories thru different genres and tones, eventually uniting them seamlessly in an overarching chronicle. This, too, Favreau fails to achieve, as his only homage in the show is to the Jewish diaspora in the guise of the nomadic Mandalorian people, and even this he fails to clarify. Had Lucasfilm hired deserving professionals to handle the story, “The Mandalorian” could have been a fantastic achievement in streaming media. Sadly, it achieves little due to poor handling and a complete lack of creativity from its developers.

Expand

This is even more impressive considering this is Star Wars' first live action show. It contains elements from all aspects of the Star Wars universe to appeal to all fans which is something I can deeply appreciate. Its use of dialogue (or lack there of) was at first something that took me back, but then as the show progressed I saw how this was intentional as the silence conveys more than it seems. The music is phenomenal, its sci-fi action mixed with western drama sets the mood the whole way through. I have to say that for once, Disney out did itself in making this piece. Expand

As a die hard Star Wars fan I'm shocked the reviews for this show are so HIGH!! The show is like watching a 80's tv show like Magnum P.I or something where there is a different not well defined villain every 1 hour show and he gets beaten by the end. There was no surprises or just great storytelling at all. Just straight linear writing. When I saw the internet blow up about baby Yoda I was like this cant be a good thing that everyone is focused on a mute side character and not the actual show itself. And it looks like I was right. Again the show isnt terrible but I just finished the Witcher as well and honestly enjoyed it alot more. Which shocked me because usually anything coming from a video game background.....(yes I know about the books....the video game brought the main popularity).......is terrible. But it at least told a story and tried to tell it in a different and interseting way. The characters in this show were just plain boring. The storytelling was linear and sometimes boring and again I think Disney is killing another property they arent suited to run. This show was WAY to PG doesn't need to be rated R but it didnt need to be so bland a 3 year old could follow it either. Sorry but after all the hype I'm just highly disappointed. Show has potential but they failed to reach it. Show wasnt terrible but it wasnt rewatchable or memorable either. Expand

The advertisement for this show called it ruthless and that it would show the dark side of the galaxy, a 'Game of Thrones' of Star Wars. And that's what I expected, the first 3 episodes were top notch with few issues here and there, I especially loved the way the episodes were shot and edited felt a lot like the original Star Wars. The writing was okay, I didn't like the part where the Mandalorian, which are bounty hunters known for getting the job done, not asking questions and just caring about the reward. Now, our bounty hunter was supposed to deliver a target, but when he realized it was a juvenile he put his life at risk to prevent the target reaching his evil employer's hands and proceeded to take care of it like he knew how to take care of a baby from a species he has never encountered. To me that felt stupid, but again in another episodes a group of raiders with AT-STs attack a village and don't kill any of the inhabitants, I also felt that that was just another way to remind us that the show is still Disney and there's no way anything would be ruthless in Disney's world. Verdict: Editing and visuals are a 9/10, but the writing is so bad and the series as a whole is so overrated just because of Baby Yoda that I feel it deserves a 5/10. It's worth watching but if you also thought the sequels are a money-grab and low effort, like really did, then this show isn't for you, not as bad as the sequels but not too good either. Expand

The cinematography is top notch as always, the story is interesting, the main character even managed to have more charisma than some of the protagonists from the recent movies. The first three episodes were well written and thoroughly engaging, recreating Lucas' Star Wars landscape without forcing the issue (Rogue One), allowing the Mandalorian to stand on its own without looking like high-budget, fan-fiction. The rot began to set-in by the 4th episode of the series which was poorly written, badly directed by Bryce Dallas-Howard, resulting in a hollow, plastic replica of Seven Samurai. Although things picked up again in episode 6, by episode 7 the repetitive storyline had fizzled out any interest in finishing the episode, yet alone the series. Expand

The musical score is a incredible mix of electronic / brass instrumental and something new to the franchise that I absolutely welcome. All of the acting is great and they have brought back many of the alien races from the original trilogies (instead of not showing barely any! *cough* *cough* episodes 789). If you enjoy watching straight up adventure (without all of the politics or different plots following different characters mess) this nails it straight on the head and you will love it. Hands down the best thing that has happened to Star Wars since the original trilogy. These guys get it! Expand

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Series 2's ending was ruined by uncanny valley Luke CGI, stupid dubstep, stupid Stormtroopers that just stand there to get killed easily, and when Mando takes his helmet off wasn't powerful because he did it in the penultimate episode. Oh and Moff Gideon's hammy monologuing was a huge cliche (Like The Incredibles satirized). Why don't Lucasfilm use deep fake technology? Collider have shown how easy and completely convincing to use deep fake with SW characters. Overall this season was disappointing, but some nice moments so I'll take any decent Star Wars morsels, but I found it nowhere near as good as season 1. It seemed to be 50% filler and so many tropes that got repeated (Side quests). Much shorter episodes too. I can only presume that Lucasfilm were in a hurry to get this out, the writing was rushed. This was even pointed out by one of the directors who was given a 19 page script. Expand

This show has turned to complete poopybutt when Mando appeared in "the book of Boba Fett" and took a turn to utter ridiculousness in season 3.
This show should be called "The Womandalorian" for how they treat Mando in season 3. In fact, he isn't even the main character anymore. Bo-Katarn is and she constantly cu()cks Mando out of his role. Seriously, fk her and fk this "strong female character" bull. All this woke feminist pc diversity inclusion plague can kiss my fkn behind.

My advice if you really want to watch it, stop after season 2 and never watch the Boba Fett shi()tshow.
Even better advice: stop watching anything modern Disney.
Woke garbage is all they release these days.

Season 1: 6/10
Season 2: 5/10 (the last episode is 9/10 tho)
Season 3: 0/10

Consequently 3/10

This was the last good Star Wars show, the only one that made Disney any profit (everything else was a well deserved colossal financial failure) and they ruined it. This is what you get for not listening to the millions of (paying) fans and instead follow the extremist woke cult that doesn't even watch your movies. Enjoy going broke Disney, you idiots.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. The Mandalorians aren't adequately cautious against dragon attacks, and lose one of their young. They then violently attack the dragon, threaten its young, and (indirectly though they bear responsibility) kill the dragon. The Mandalorians are to blame for all this. Kids get the usual Disney contents, moms get Baby Yoda, dads get Star Wars nerdy reference. The show almost feels like being made by a bunch of fanfiction writers with familiarity of the setting but zero sense of screen writing.

Storyline shows no complexity at all. In fact, most of them are fillers. You can skip 4 of 8 episodes and you'll still understand the story just fine. Characters are completely uninteresting. None of them are developed. None of them had nuances: protagonists are morally good heroes; antagonists are one dimensional evils. The show relies only on a cute muppet and flashy action, but has zero substance. Had a potential great world-building with some details, but they chose to abandon it for rule of cool (and cute).

My summary in short from the first episode: Disney raises TV Series to a new Level.
I have rarely seen an episode so grasping like the first episode of The Mandalorian. Technically, it was top notch, the CGI, monsters etc. look like in the cinema. The main character is just how you would expect the bounty hunter from Star Wars. He plays wonderfully that hard kind of character with a dark past, but also with a sense of humor in some scenes which makes it so brisk. It's hardly an "everyday" character that you could compare with from other TV Series...
From the action, it starts quite heavy and fast paced in this first episode. Normally, you see lots of story "fillers" where things happen that not really drive on the main story, just to "fill" out some time probably to reduce costs or due to missing episode ideas. But here to be honest, its so full of nice moments, you could easily have made a movie from this episode. Maybe the will do one some day... B I just have to say I loved this episode and I hope they keep up the quality in further episodes..

This show's premiere was amazing.

Story has me hooked so far and the role of Mandalorian culture is really refreshing change in Star Wars stories. Acting is all around amazing, being it the protagonist being Mandalorian or troopers being troopers but with soul. Atmosphere is spaghetti western like, which is perfect for telling Star Wars Bounty Hunter stories. I thought I would miss Boba Fett, but so far the show's protagonist has been amazing. Good amount of laughs and "wow's" during the first episode. 10/10

If you are like me, you were greatly disappointed by just about every release in this franchise since the Return of the Jedi. Jon Favreau does an amazing job at capturing the same feel and integrity that made this franchise what it is today. The practical effects are amazing. He understands that we appreciate this far beyond what CGI has to offer even in 2019. As far as writing goes, the characters have actual interesting depth to them unlike the mundane and bland examples found in the recent movies. You actually end up caring about what happens in this series, or at least I did. The music is also fantastic and truly compliments the visuals. This show gives the impression that it cares much more about story rather than cheap fast action scenes and feel good moments like in the recent movies.

I highly recommend this to anyone who has given up on this franchise but was a fan of the older films. I am very impressed.

I'm enjoying this show, my favourite so far after the first chapter has been chapter 4.

The look of the show is that of an 80's Star Wars show, that may sound like a negative but it isn't. It feels and looks like it is set just a few years after ROTJ and imo this enhances the show.

The story isn't a typical Star Wars story, yet it makes sense. And although the first chapter kind of gives you an idea of how the entire thing will play out. That doesn't bother me, I want to watch this story still despite this.

The pilot is the perfect time to present the main narrative of the show, the disruption/recognition and the motives of the protagonist. The Mandalorian begins strong by presenting him as a badass bounty hunter that is evidently trained in the arts of combat and experienced in his job however his motives seem quite bland, being that he only wants to make money by hunting down contracts. The show tries to jam pack Star Wars references on the viewer in aims to earn credit through nostalgia but feels too forced and the scenery is not far from awful. The environments shown in chapter 1 are very basic and blend, being only dark and enclosed rooms and desolate deserts. When you look at the rich environments that's George Lucas created, and the availability of atheistically pleasing scenery/settings presented in previous star wars movies, it seems hard to get the environment as wrong as they did in the pilot episode; there is nothing creative about bland open plains of ice and sand and western styled villages. In terms of the aliens, they nailed their design and there seems to be a much wider variety of aliens and their use of practical effects on the first contract The Mandalorian seeks out really pays off in looking visually stunning. The action scenes are also well choreographed and the bounty droid seen towards the end works well as a good source comedic relief. For a pilot episode this has started off strongly and I'm excited for the future episode and the disruption faced at the end of the episode is also very interesting, I just hope they venture to more exciting terrain outside of the deserts in the future episodes. I recommend this show however expected more from the 15 million dollar budget on each episode. Expand

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. The Mandalorian. A safe but middling effort.

While we are only two episodes in at the time of this review, I can say I have enjoyed The Mandalorian. While it's good, it's far from great. This is typical safe Kathleen Kennedey PG Star Wars. Does just enough to satisfy die hard Star Wars fans but not enough to make it something special to the common viewer. After the Solo movie disappointed with it's more gritty PG-13 rating helped reinforce their tried and true toned down kids demographic. Some over the top, almost unbelievable moments and a baby yoda creature spice up the first two episodes but toned down violence is almost laughable. If you are a Star Wars fan this is will be a entertaining and enjoyable jump back in. If your not then this show will leave a lock lacking in it's current state.

My dream is a gritty, dark, tragic more adult focused story and plot. Something more in line with GoT style series. I wish they'd take the risk, focusing on younger audience is fine but leaves a big, older market wanting something more.

Sometimes it's movie-grade scene with superb costumes and special effects, The next it's amateur stand-up theatre. Action, action, action, now stop for a few minutes because I have to explain something. Ok, that should have done the trick, let's go again and action, action, action. Aaaaannnnnd stop you stormtroopers just wait right there for a few minutes. Time for a supposedly emotional scene now, and OK, go go go ... It just doesn't flow at all. On the one hand beautiful special effects, with some movie quality scenes, on the other hand boring exposition and some dumb and childish plot choices. The baby is cute, some of the acting is really good, some is really bad. As a whole it just doesn't flow, that's my main problem with the first season.
Still, it's visually nice enough to look at, so not a total waste of time if you're looking for a Star Wars fix.

While the mood and feel of the show is cool, there is really very limited next to none character arcs or even storyline arcs of note. It is heavily monotone, achieving little in the way of drama. It is hard to justify it as a tv series, perhaps a 3 episode miniseries would have been enough.

Again, it is difficult not to like the Mandalorian because the few things it does have going for it, it does very well, but it's very far from must see tv. A generous 6.5/10 from me.

After the new trilogy this is like heroin.

The story is not that special but I had my fun.

I'm not a real Star Wars fan...but this is legit. It feels like the old trilogy. Some episodes are better than others. I will see season 2.

Visualmente bela mas a estória em si é fraca, superestimada. Baby Yoda carrega a série nas costas, já que a série fracassa em estabelecer o protagonista.
