Such a great series! It sort of sags in the middle, but even those episodes are good. Ignore the negative reviews and look at rotten tomatoes for a more accurate score. My biggest critique is that it's not long enough.

The first episode is very poor and as a result I almost did not watch any more. My review of the first episode follows:

There is no denying the Mandalorian carries the veneer of Star Wars and contains some good action. The problem is there is little else. The story is extremely weak. A wooden lead that never takes off a helmet is impossible to care about. The ridiculous backstory details sound like they were made up during a game of Mad Libs.

This is alternate universe/bizarro Star Wars. The writers heard of this thing called Star Wars, watched a couple trailers and figured that was enough information with which to write the series.

So much is wrong. We get a whole new misuse of the word 'parsec'. A sentient creature roasted at a market stall. Captured bounties are frozen in carbonite, because Han was (even though in the OT we were led to believe that was not the norm for bounties), and using an ancient yet surprisingly portable alcove fitted unit. There is so much to groan about.

Dave Filoni's participation starts and ends with directing two episodes. He obviously had no creative control or these and other ridiculous things would never have happened?

Don't believe me? Apparently Mandalorians now never take off their helmets. Huh? Bobba Fett did in the prequels. Even in Filoni's own "The Clone Wars" and "Rebels", Mandalorians are often seen without their helmets. I should also point out, Disney considers both series canon.

So why did I continue? The same reason you'll watch the series: Baby Yoda (the species not the actual Yoda). I'll admit it, I would watch an entire series with just Baby Yoda being Baby Yoda and nothing else. Like a Star Wars Yule Log video.

The lead character fills the quote for maximum allowable non-incompetent white males. You can extrapolate the rest of that because: Kathleen Kennedy/Bob Iger.

The action is still pretty good. There are MANY terrible actors that are of the quality you'd expect from a self-funded independent film.

The Mandalorian can best be described as an animated Star Wars series... but live action.
Definitely overrated. Not worth a Disney+ subscription alone.
It's a solid 2 and a half 'meh'.… Expand

Regarding Episode 1. Well, there is a lot of star wars in it somehow. The "great mandalorian" trying to awake his fate by riding on a ridiculous comic something with dramatic music underlying the scene is ridiculous at its best. Also the mandalorian seems to be a determined super-hero which on the one hand makes his great struggle to ride on a whatever made for TV shows for 4 years old unfitting and on the other hand makes for a less interesting main character than in most other star wars movies. The surprising end of the identity of the bounty-huntED (to not spoil anything here) makes up for a lot of episode 1s slack. Remains to be seen how the story evolves and if it falls into trap every single series recently does fall into: super-heroic and therefore super-boring and unindentifiable main characters, fast build-ups with no background or depths, clicheed characters and fights instead of interesting subjects or depth of story. I don't like these Disney productions, I prefer the products of the Lucas era.
I hope Lucas buys the Lucasfilm again or that the Disney decides to reset the canon it introduced, and then to restore the canon prior to 2014.

So, no thanks.

Did anyone think about anything other than profits when they decided to make a gritty PG13 show those two don't go together.

Also there is a scene when Mandalorian children are running by and every Mando in the bunker is wearing their helmet in doors.

Did any of these morons making this actually ever read a comic or novel with Mandalorians mentioned in it?

If they had they would realize how that doesn't make any sense, even to help them with their silly attempt to make us feel good about never showing the Mando main characters face.

Also not a good idea to have a show with a character we cannot see and bond with, you have 8 39 min episodes, 8.

Congrats Disney keep ruining SW and Marvel and humping it's corpse for every cent you can. One day you won't be able to coerse and manipulate the fanbase you didn't build into buying your **** anymore.

You are without shame and without vision and that can't last for ever.

Great show, really feels like Star Wars again. Set design, costumes, and use of practical effects are all quite well done. Casting is very good, with Pedro Pascal, Giancarlo Esposito, and Gina Carano standing out. The addition of RosarioGreat show, really feels like Star Wars again. The addition of Rosario Dawson as Ahsoka is a really poor choice, she has none of the personality of the character and her entire time onscreen is just grating. The plot is a generally solid episodic crisis of the week format that works through an interesting and satisfying overarching plot for the first 2 seasons. While some episodes can be a little weak, they are almost all great fun.… Expand

I admit I’m not a Star Wars fan..... that being said and not knowing much outside of what a average person would know about Star Wars... I truly enjoyed the show. I’m in season 2 as I write this. Pedro Pascal Is the best to play The Mandalorian and my Favourite Character is The Mandalorian, Grogu and Galactic Empire Stormtroopers. It’s the first Spin-Off TV Show of the Star Wars Franchise

It’s got Action, Adventure, Drama and Sci-Fi in it

I enjoyed watching all Episodes in the Series on Disney+ but it’s really exciting.

All of them are really awesome. It’s a Disney Star Wars Masterpiece I give it 10/10

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. The Mandalorian is a breath of fresh air for the Star Wars IP. It has likable characters like Dyn Jarren (the Mandalorian), the main protagonist, and Grogu (baby Yoda). Dyn Jarren has understandable motives and doesn't just do things because the writer wants him to. The understanding you get for the characters makes them believable and the allusion that the Star Wars world and the story are real. It never just takes you out of the story and makes you question what is happening. Everything just makes sense. You also want to root for the protagonists, because they aren't bland, irrational, or perfect. They make mistakes and deal with consequences. But for me, an important element is the visuals, and they are stunning! Both CGI and the scenies. Sceneries I especially liked were: the fisherman town/city (S.2 E.3) and the junkyard (s.2 E.7). The series just shows you a different side of the huge Star Wars galaxy. It shows you a gritty side of it. The story is also pretty good. I didn't notice any plot holes, but the story is also not very innovative.

All in all the Mandalorian is a really good new story, and it is a must-watch for any Star Wars fan, but can also be enjoyed by non-Star Wars fans. It is definitely better than Star Wars episode 8 and 9 together, but what isn't better than these films are? ;)… Expand

Me sigue fascinando y pareciendo hiper curioso que exprese tanto, esté tan lleno de expresividad el mandaloriano, llevando una máscara, lo que son los planos y lo que es el cine, eh.

A nivel de producción y de efectos especiales sobre todo, se nota mucho la mejoría respecto a la previa.
Esta vez la serie va menos por el camino de capítulos autoconclusivos, o sea los hay, pero ya no en tanta cantidad, y hay una trama general que los engloba.
Ahsoka, reina pura, lo digo. Amo a Rosario Dawson y el sable blanco, lo guapo que está, y lo que aporta en términos de iluminación, ¿hola? Está guapísimo.
En cuanto a la fotografía, todo lo técnico, los planos y demás, la serie es una locura, espero que esto sea innegable.
No sé si me gusta o me disgusta que se repita tanto el reparto de la primera temporada, quizás su hubiese sido una serie de 5 temporadas, haberlos metido en la 4º para recordar, sí, pero traer de nuevo a practicamente todos, no sé. Quizás si la hubiese visto según salió, y no ahora, las 2 seasons de golpe, me habría molado más.
Me gusta el arte que sale al final, en los pre-créditos, por llamarlo de alguna forma, está espectacular, alguno quedaría genial de fondo de pantalla, vaya.
Al final la música se hace reconocible, aunque no sea John Williams, sigue estando genial.
Por último, EL MOMENTO, ese momento, del que no puedo hablar, porque es spoiler, pero bua, que gozada, qué épico, que mal hecho está, btw, pero es una locura.

Season 1:
Es una serie de lo más curiosa, porque, a pesar de que cuenta con los mejores efectos visuales y gráficos, aún así, en algunos momentos, se siente cutre, no se si por determinadas faltas de presupuesto, que no creo, si no por mantener la esencia de la trilogía original de Star Wars, yo me decanto más por aquí.
Visualmente, tema fotografía, cuidado de los planos, espectacular. Al igual que la banda sonora, aunque me faltan algunos de los temas más míticos de John Williams.
Los disparos y las transiciones, lo que decía antes, son hiper cutres, pero como recuerdan a las películas antiguas, me hacen bastante gracia. Eso sí, hay algo que no acabo de pillar, la intro, no me tiene ningún sentido, ni estético ni nada, no me gusta en absoluto.
Manejan un casting bastante brutal, Pascal es un actorazo, y aunque no se le ve la cara, desprende un carisma y una expresividad que me maravillan.
Una cosa que me parece curiosa, aunque todos los capítulos aumenten al lore, menos los dos últimos, son todos autorresolutivos, bastante simplones, la historia, aunque funciona claro.
En conclusión, qué veremos en The Mandalorian, pues muchos guiños a las películas antiguas, Mando como personaje es un 10, sin menospreciar a Baby Yoda, si eres un fan te va a encantar, mantiene ese toque western que caracteriza tanto a Star Wars.
Lo peor, pues diria que la duración de los capítulos, bastante escasa para una serie de este calibre, la banda sonora, aunque maravillosa, le falta ese toque Williams, y la historia, aunque cumple, quizás es demasiado sencilla.… Expand

The Mandalorian is the best Star Wars product since Episode III release. Jon Favreau and Dave Filoni have done an amazing job and I highly appreciate that.

The Mandalorian is extended for the season 3... this fact scares me a little. The story has a great ending! I don't need a continuation, knowing Disney may create another conveyor, especially after the latest Star Wars trilogy fail.

Nonetheless, the first two The Mandalorian seasons are amazing.… Expand

The Madalorian Season 1: Now for the last I want to say year I have been running this account I have only done movies,games and music now I’m doing shows. First off this is the main reason most people signed up for Disney+ because of how amazing it looks for a TV show. Not only do we have new characters and new planets to explore but the story is amazingly written by the guy who helped make the MCU Jon Favreu. The way he just tells a amazing story with characters you want to see successfully save Baby Yoda. Pedro Pascal does a fantastic job as the Mandalorian and everyone of the cast is great too. I can’t even explain the last episode of how it does comedy and action together because it was directed by the person who directed Thor Ragnorak. If you aren’t the 10 million people who signed up just for this show do it right now it’s so worth it all the episodes are out now only on Disney+.The Mandalorian Season 2: Up front SPOILER WARNING if you haven’t watched this season skip this review. Well people have said that Disney has ruined Star Wars I beg to differ they have made Star Wars into the one of the best franchises ever. Now spoiler stuff I’m going to go straight into The Jedi Ahsoka Tano is so amazing we have been wanting her to go into live action for over 10 years and they finally did it Rosario Dawson looks so much like her it’s unreal. The makeup is spot on she looks great, getting to Boba Fett played by Tamuera Morrison returning to the role after the garbage Attack of the Clones he plays adult Boba Fett like a dream he’s badass and quick witted. That brings us to the finale LUKE SKYWALKER IS BACK with his green saber and R2D2 is back too amazing. The fighting is amazing, just everything is amazing GO WATCH IT NOW. I watched Mandalorian with my family and I really enjoyed it. It is a great show with little to no swearing and no inappropriate scenes thus making it more appropriate for kids even though the rating is pg-13. I liked it when Mando was alone with Grogu and they were doing their space cowboy thing, but later when the big battle happend it just became bland fighting. Some of the characters i think were completely useless and boring and added nothing to the story so if you would remove them the series would probably end up the same anyways my favourite episode was episode 1 it just set the tone for the entire show. I liked the space/western theme it was just diffrent than anything i have seen.… Expand

I was pleasantly surprised by this show, going from zero interest after seeing the trailers to being very invested in the story from episode one. It has its own identity while also maintaining the grittier aspects of the Star Wars universe.

It's an enjoyable watch, certainly better than the last two main Star Wars films turned out, but that's not saying much. For all his experience as a bounty hunter, The Mandalorian seems to constantly fall for obvious betrayals. The bad guys seem to have tracker beacons that just instantly lead them to our heroes, removing any incentive for them to cover their tracks or try to hide. And the main bad doesn't even show up until the last episode, when he has them cornered and then offers them a day to come out and negotiate (a day? like, not a minute?). The show is a fun romp through familiar locales, but outside of the Star Wars aesthetic, there's not much going on.… Expand

It's executed well. It's beautiful to watch, and I'm very surprised to see they've managed to update and at the same time maintain the aesthetics... but...

I am so in love....with this series, I have two more episodes left and I don’t want it to end! Been watching each episode twice!!! And I am not even a Star Wars fan. But this is seriously well done. I would give it more than 10 if I could. And the music, love it.... They pushed girl power on us again, it’s hollywood though. They can chill a bit with girl power stuff. But it’s incredibly entertaining. Bravo to the cast crew and director ....and this is coming from a girl who hated Aqua man and Wonder-woman!!!… Expand

The main problem with the sequel trilogy is that it tried shoving so much down people's throats that it made them hard to bear. With Mandalorian, it takes it time to tell its story and take its time fleshing out Mando (played excellently by Pedro Pascal). Also, this show has a very cinematic quality to it, and that's not just talking about the visual effects; the cinematography, the storytelling and the editing feel as that of a film. The Mandalorian is the best thing to happen to Star Wars right now. Even if you aren't a Star Wars fan, you will have a good time with this show. I understand if you don't want to support Disney+, but give it a shot. You won't regret it.… Expand

К сожалению бросается в глаза, особенно в первом сезоне, что серии сняты разными людьми. На мой взгляд это вносит сумятицу в повествование как в сериале, так и в последней трилогии. При этом режиссеры далеко не Лукасы, Спилберги и Кэмероны! С чего в Диснее взяли, что это хорошая идея менять второстепенных режиссеров после каждой серии? Ничего хорошего, на мой взгляд, кроме неразберихи в сюжете это не принесло. Во втором сезоне это выглядит менее выразительно, но все равно напрягает. Второй сезон порадовал больше, "вернули" Бобу Фетта, почему то переставшего быть мандалорцем, хотя в фильме его "отец" всё таки им был. Порадовало появление в последней серии, не очень похожего на себя, Люка Скайуокера! Мне очень нравился этот "Face Swapping", это метод может продлить молодость, да и жизнь хороших актеров. Мне он очень понравился в "Изгой один". Хотя к концу второго сезона серия всё же скатывается в феминистический боевичок, аля "Мужички предают и рыдают, а бабы опять спасают мир". ЧЕТЫРЕ бабы и Maнда спасают младенца Грогу! Уже даже не смешно. Если бы не Люк, то даже не знаю.
Ну, что я могу сказать? Дисней хотя и медленно, но движется думаю в правельном направлении. Влияние последних инноваций имеется конечно, но до лгбтшной скверны пока не дошло! Это хорошо.… Expand

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Okay, at the moment I didn’t really like the series. I will explain why. Firstly, the action is quite slow. Yes, I understand, he is a professional, so he does not fuss and all his movements are clear and well-developed. But can you not always do this? Are you a catwalk model or a bounty hunter? Around the middle of the 1st series, it really starts to get very annoying. Further, I want to note indecently cliched battle scenes in the bar and in the camp. The bandits, like the legendary imperial stormtroopers, cannot get into the high droid and its huge head. Seriously, he just stood there and “distracted attention” while the Mandalorian tried to open the door and never hit him! Well, even with a machine gun he got a couple of shots. The character himself does not cause any feelings so far - the entire first series he was no different from the droid-hunter, and only in the end we see a certain manifestation of feelings in the scene with mini-Yoda, which, incidentally, turned out to be impossibly cute and cool. Let's hope that the Mandalorian, in the course of events, will reveal itself more and more as a person and we will learn more about him, all the more there are already prerequisites for this. Finally, I really did not like the soundtrack of the series, despite the fact that it was created by an Oscar-winning composer. In many moments, he simply did not guess with the accompaniment, and the main theme turned out to be not expressive and uninteresting.
Now I would like to say about the advantages. The Mandalorian outfit looks very good, and in general, all the props and special effects in the series turned out to be really good. A good acting in a scene with a customer and a guide, easy and appropriate humor, pretty good remarks of the characters - all this gives hope that in the future the series will draw the viewer to itself and make it sink. Yes, it’s really better than what Disney has done lately (apart from Rogue One and the Fallen Order) although the Obi-Wan spin-off series is still more desirable for me… Expand

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. The Mandalorian has been one of the most anticipated shows in the 2019 year on the new on-demand streaming service, Disney Plus. For the monthly cost of $6.99 a month, subscribers are able to watch the show. However, is it worth the hype? The Mandalorian brings a new type of genre to television and does it impressively. This space western show introduces you to Din Djarn, the Bounty Hunter and Mandalorian. He is a mysterious and maverick person, who was at first reckless then became prudent when he met a certain bounty, the child.
The child was certainly a show stopper in both the show and in real life. Din Djarn decides to take the responsibility of caring for the child when he realizes that the whole galaxy is after him. Along this journey, the Mandalorian meets strong characters that help him in his present and future journeys. Characters such as Cara Dune (shown below), is not in every episode. However, when she is, she is critical to the situation. This show was directed towards Star Wars fans. However, it became much more popular to not only Star Wars fans, but to almost everyone who owns Disney Plus. Not only Star Wars fans would be impressed, but normal TV watchers would be too. Critics raved on how impressed they were with the show, rating it a 95% on Rotten Tomatoes. Many focused their compliments on the characters. Watchers were impressed with the Mandalorian’s character specifically, and the transformation of his character throughout the first season. They were also impressed by one of the stars of the show, Baby Yoda. The innocent child stole the hearts of all the watchers and will continue throughout the series.
The Mandalorian takes you into worlds and stories that go beyond the Star Wars universe. It introduces you to a brave yet maverick Mandalorian, who is just trying to make a living in the galaxy yet his life gets crashed by a mischievous yet adorable child.
