This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. After finally finishing The Mandalorian Season 3, I can confirm it's just as bad as people make it out to be and that is something I take no pleasure in saying considering I loved the first 2 seasons and hoped I could get the bad taste The Book of Boba Fett left in my mouth (I don't think you can see my review do to Metacritic being glitchy AGAIN but long story short, I gave that show a 5). Normally when I review anything, a game, movie, or TV show, I normally go over the positives first and then go over the negatives but I feel like doing that here will cause you to misunderstand my opinion so I'll go over the negatives first. The first negative I can say about this show is that despite how the end of The Book of Boba Fett was going to be about Din redeeming himself after he removed his helmet in public but then that ended up happening in just 2 episodes causing the whole arc to be redundant kind've like how Din reunited with Grogu in the middle of TBOB. Another arc wasted was how Bo wanted to rule Mandalore once again but needed the Darksaber to do that so it was hinting on some conflict between and Din but then it was just given at the end of Episode 6 without a fight causing another arc to get totally wasted in the end. There's this plot hole in the show where Moff escaped and was still alive, and the show was hinting that a Mandalorian did it but then it was literally never mentioned again and considering he's the main villain in this show, this is a WAY BIGGER plot hole than you may think. The other villain: the pirates, are MUCH WORSE when you remember the captain literally tried to bomb the citizens instead of running away to live another day pretty much ending any sort of hope I was going to take the villains seriously if Disney wasn't going to either. The first 5 episodes are totally worthless since they don't mean anything to the story and Episode 6 is easily the worst episode in the ENTIRETY of The Mandalorian since it NOTHING in that episode meant anything for the story leaving me confused on what show I was watching. Overall, despite good performances and great set-pieces, I pretty much regret watching this Season at all and the sad bit is that I know this wasn't the writer's fault, it was Disney's since they green-lit all of this and just used kept Grogu here just for the sake of continuing to milk the franchise as much as they could and unless Season 4 is an improvement, I cannot under any circumstances recommend The Mandalorian Season 3. What makes it hard to rate is that it is far weaker than season 1 and 2 but also better than the Obi Wan series and Book of Boba Fett except their Mandalorian episode. It feels often unstructured or cut together from different arcs missing some spots. I was always in the waiting state for “When does this get good”.Don’t get me wrong it is not garbage even if it looks a bit like it inWhat makes it hard to rate is that it is far weaker than season 1 and 2 but also better than the Obi Wan series and Book of Boba Fett except their Mandalorian episode. It has its moments like the rehabilitation program, old characters returning and the final is good (but also a slight disappointment). I would say too much filler and too less awesomeness. This could actually be the end of Disneys Star Wars as Mandalorian was the last thing fans loved. I think I give a 6/10 as it is above average but not awesome. Now the final hope is the Ahsoka show. May the force be with tthem. Expand

Despite glimpses towards a bigger and more extravagant story, The Mandalorian Season 3 ditches the show’s well-beloved formula for occasionally boring and downright frustrating adventures unworthy of Mando’s assistance.

There're two main fighting moments. the one in the beginning is kinda boring. The one in the space is dope if you are really into spaceships, but it could've been better. The pirate space station ended up doing nothing except for watching them past by while exchanging heated messages. For me, what saves this episode is the set up for the new quest and the jokes and the almost nonsensical attempt to savage the droid IG-11 Expand

Update: Season 3 was such a disappointment, dragged its feet the entire season, brought grogu back for no reason, and had so much potential and possibilities that could've came to life with this. but it instead felt watered down and mainstream. With all the BTS stuff that happened inbetween season 2 and 3, Hopefully by the time season 4 comes around that won't be the issue

Not the very best opener, but at least it has some cool moments, and very cute ones too. Anyway, I hope Jon Favreau and his team surprises us with great character development, because this first episode had a lot of exposition and othing we haven't seen before in past seasons. But hey, it's always great to see Mando and Grogu back in action!

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. A step down from the first two seasons and the excellent Andor series, but not bad. The plot felt a little all-over-the-place and mcguffiny, but the re-taking of Mandalore fit broader lore. It was cheapened somewhat by almost all of the Mandalorians surviving. Similarly, I enjoyed the continuation of the Bo-Katan plot and Katee Sackhoff's (the real star of the show) acting, but I'm not sure that Bo-Katan's plot has meaning to people who didn't watch Clone Wars and Rebels. Likewise, audience members seemed confused by plot points about Grogu and Din Djarin elaborated in the Book of Boba. Disney needs to stop expecting the audience to Expand

The show goes back to the beginning to demonstrate how much has changed even if its core dynamic remains the same, laying solid groundwork for a host of new conflicts for the Mandalorian and his foundling to face together.

“The Mandalorian” answered the main question tied to Seasons 1 and 2. Now, it needs to find a new way forward, and there’s a galaxy of paths available.

Fans have griped that “The Mandalorian” and lightweight series like the ones that Favreau and Filoni have made thus far are robbing “Star Wars” of what made it special and often, especially with a disposable throwaway, more-of-the-same episode like this, it’s really hard to argue with.
