I've enjoyed both season 1 and 2 of this series. While there were some dud-episodes, the over-arching story was tight and led to meaningful and satisfying conclusions. The story feels uninspired and directionless. While there have been some great effects sequences, the season is starting to feel like a formulaic Saturday morning cartoon. Side quest of the week video game plots. It's starting to feel like the story has run out of gas and has lost it's way. It truly feels like the writers are making things up as they go along hoping it ends up somewhere....or like they are simply producing content in the interim until they come up with a solid, fresh idea. They should have stopped at Season 2. Expand

Poorly written. This is not the show we enjoyed for last two seasons. It's like they took everything out of it and turned it into a standard Disney IP. I'm going to unsubscribe from Disney plus at this point as I do not feel like I should be giving this company any more of my money.

This is not the way.. Another Disney Star Wars production follows the now all-too common trend of losing all relevance and deviating from everything that originally made it good.

The season lives up to every expectation you could have had after the sequels, Book Of Boba and Kenobi. The script quality is so incredibly poor. It's a wonder Season 1 and 2 were good. Now we are waiting for Ashoka, Skeleton Crew and Andor Season 2. I am very curious to see how they screw up this time.

I loved Katee Sackhoff as Bo Katan though. She deserves a better product to shine.

Disney execs are like nazi dictators that fire anyone who has an opinion of their own and doesn't agree with theirs. This is what is causing most of their newer releases to flop, they want to destroy classic stories, impose their exaggerated over the top LGBTQ and WOKE and inclusive agendas and by doing so are purposely infuriating people and inciting racial hatred and violence. Disney corp. has to be taught a severe and drastic lesson, any way possible with any scandals and dirt on them exposed by whistleblowers, and then blacklist and bankrupt them. I grew up in a city which had a real mix of cultures and races, we all got along without any issues and we were a close knit community that helped and looked out for each other just like a family. This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. If the undo button was a show it would be Season 3 of The Mandalorian.

The series singlehandedly undid all it set up in the last two seasons in what can only be described as the unfortunate by product of Kathleen Kennedy's alleged interference with the Book of Boba while Favreau was busy focusing on the upcoming Ahsoka series forcing the story to be changed last minute.

The significance of the second season's ending which broke the internet was undone because now... Grogu is just back... Because.
It completely trivializes the big reveal of Luke Skywalker and Din having to let go of Grogu for Grogu to develop in the force as a Jedi while Luke rebuilds the order. This was important because Din was taking Grogu to his people. The Jedi were his people and he knew as a bounty hunter he would not be able to give Grogu what was best for him. But Disney needs to sell merch so it only took two episodes of the, also disgraceful, Book of Boba Fett and his Power Ranger Scooters Gang to undo this.
What could have been a good parallel story of Din and Grogu growing in their respective fields, only to be reunited with the end point the show was clearly building up with Ahsoka's line of, "Where is grand Admiral Thrawn" has now been reduced to Mando doing filler disconnected tasks promising a payoff with baby Yoda doing something in the background. It was clear the story had to be changed to allow for Grogu's return.

Secondly, every main and main side character is a complete contradiction of their established selves. Mando went from space Clint Eastwood to a Damsel in Distress who can't protect himself without "the" Bo Katan coming to rescue him and handling every situation at far greater ease than our protagonist. The whole "fight for the darksaber" set up goes no where as Din just freely gives it up by the end to Bo katan. The same Bo Katan who already refused it because that is not the Mando way.

The Mandalorian is getting sidelined in his own show as Boba Fett was sidelined in his! His character arc is essentially abruptly cut to an end by the end of the season and is extremely unsatisfying for a show which has already proven how good it can be.

The show was clearly setting up a potential "from loner to leader" plot with Din not wanting to have the saber but being dictated by Mandalorian culture as now being its owner ushering him into a leadership role. We see Din get challenged in Book of Boba Fett for it by another Mandalorian and despite commenting on the saber's difficulty to handle, he still wins and we see him attempting to learn how to use it. The only problem is that in his main show, he is still just as incompetent after all that time and is only further overshadowed by his supporting cast.

Cara Dune is now just an off screen reference in a throw away line so that entire Rangers of the Republic set up by offering her a position is also now gone. Thanks Twitter.

This show has essentially gone as follows:
    Season 1: The Mandalorian
Season 2: The Mandalorian and friends: Setting up what is to come
Season 3: Bo Katan and friends: fillers and a hint of the Mandalorian.

More than half this show's run time adds nothing to the story and could be cut and would actually improve the quality. Instead of building Mando's character and actually see him be cool, we get an episode dedicated to the scientist from the first season and an episode which has Lizzo and Jack Black as characters in an episode which seems more like a knockoff of a fan-fiction fan-film of the Mandalorian.
Filler episodes in an already limited series which is attempting to tell a story rarely works because the shorter the show, the more valuable each second becomes and this show is a limited series treating itself like it has all the time in the world.
Oh did I mention they now have "Arrrr me mateys" pirates. We went from the likable Hondo Onaka in the Clone Wars and Rebels to this...

    This is not the way.

Everything about this season seems like a parody of the show and seems to symbolize one big middle finger from Jon Favreau to Disney and Kathleen Kennedy for allegedly messing with Book of Boba Fett.

I sincerely hope that the Ahsoka series will be good as the sole beneficiary of Favreau's current attention as if that show fails then I have a bad outlook on the brand until we get some major leadership changes.

2/10 purely for the visuals though I would say that is still more than it deserves.

I have also noticed this in the past 2 seasons, but i feel like in the newest season it's even more bothering. There is no real emotion in anything the characters do, which makes the show sluggish and boring. The actors and actresses are horrible (especially the amnesty officer lady in episode 3) and the amount of plot holes is insane. The cgi is not bad but looks "too clean" in many scenes.

If this was called "Bo Katan show" and didn't have the Mando and Grogu in it, it prob would of been a decent show. But alas this is suppose to be Season 3 of the Mandalorian but IDK wtf happened between Season 2 and 3 for my boy Dinn to be a glorified damsel in distress throughout most this season.

I lost all hope when Lizzo and Bowser made an appearance and Grogu became a glorified teddy bear. The finale I was hoping would take some risks (Armorer as the spy) but typical Disney played it safe. The writing/story/chars took a total nose dive in this season and IMO this is basically a voice over paycheck for Pedro Pascal as he is not the star of his own show anymore.
