    Andor has shown what Star Wars can become with sufficient ambition. In that context and, for all its positive qualities, the once gleamingly exciting Mandalorian is in danger of losing its shine.

    None of this was extremely thrilling, and there’s no one exciting thing that sets up the rest of the season as a must-see Star Wars adventure, but The Mandalorian has always been fairly good at surprises. We’ll have to see if that’s still the case.

    This is a premiere that would’ve greatly benefitted from being one of two episodes released today, or part of a longer episode that actually took us somewhere — anywhere — new.

    Fans have griped that “The Mandalorian” and lightweight series like the ones that Favreau and Filoni have made thus far are robbing “Star Wars” of what made it special and often, especially with a disposable throwaway, more-of-the-same episode like this, it’s really hard to argue with.

    Episode 1 - After crappy "Book of Boba Fett" and "Obi-Wan Kenobi" we trying not to see how mediocre this show is... One big advertisement of Grogu's merch... "Look, we got Grogu!" "Here is Grogu again!" "Look how cute Grogu is!". And this pirates recycled directly from the "Pirates of the Caribbean"... Embarrassing. Space crocodile, "pirates", two fetch quests, nothing interested... D*mn, it is so boring! I was bored, and this episode was meant to encourage me to keep watching...    … Full Review »
