Sep 4, 2022It's just another dull boring generic fantasy that may as well not have any association with Tolkien.
-
Sep 2, 2022Really looking forward to this series. but it turned out to be a complete lack of respect for the author and the audience. The series is in the trash.
-
Sep 2, 2022Lacklustre and miscast stars, few stand out, makes you want for an Ian McKellen, Viggo Mortensen or Elijah Wood. None of the actors sell the performance and its hard to get immersed with the dull characters and poor performances. Overuse of CGI reminiscent more of a video game than the practical effects of the original trilogy that used CGI sparingly but to good effect.

Sep 2, 2022Passable and over used CGI. The characters are not recognizable from books I love so dearly. Bad writing and cringy dialog. Costume that stand out and looks cheap. This isn't Tolkien. It more like a generic fantasy then Tolkien high fantasy. There is so much lore breaking. If your a Tolkien fan. This isn't worth your time and you just end up angry

Sep 2, 2022This is NOT a Lord of the Rings, this is NOT a Tolkien - this is NOT of anything good at all. **** for idiots. Read books people XD
-
Sep 2, 2022There is no curse in Elvish, Entish, or the tongues of Men for this treachery.

Sep 2, 2022I just finished first episode and I'm bored to the death.
dialogs 1/10
script 1/10
fun 0/10
cgi 2/10
music(Howard Shore) 4/10
spirit of tolkien 0/10
elements of nature 0/10
Hope this would be 'breaking point' to producing holywood **** like this. -
Sep 2, 2022A complete disgrace to Tolkiens legacy. The people in charge should be ashamed for tainting a great mans work like this.

Sep 8, 2022I wanted to give it a chance, I really tried...but I was not able to finish the two episodes. Every character is just not interesting, the dialogs are so superficial and boring, and the pace of the move is way to slow, and nothing really happens. I really can't find anything positive aside from the CGI which sometimes seems a bit...too much.

Sep 2, 2022I've never been a fan of Tolkien's universe, but after two episodes I'm downright enchanted by its beauty. Amazon has created a new class of quality in creating the series. I thought that the visuals couldn't beat Game of Thrones, but this series proves me wrong

Sep 2, 2022I am pleasantly suprised!!! The first episodes are superb, good castig, epic battles, an a lush world! As a child i would have killed for a tv show like this which featured my fafourite books! But sure there are flaws, i hope that they will iron it out during the first season! But so far it doesnt deserve the hat it gets on the web!

Sep 2, 2022Absolute woke disaster. Lazy script, empty characters that have nothing to do with the original Tolkien.
-
Sep 2, 2022This series is an absolute disgrace and literally the worst thing happened to cinema since Marvel Phase 4. Tolkien would've shot himself with a shotgun if he could see this abomination
-
Sep 2, 2022Even worse than I thought it would be, with a laughably bad script, wooden acting and outright disrespectful casting. Tolkien is nowhere to be found in this Bezos fiasco nor is any of the reverence and attention to detail seen in the Peter Jackson trilogy. So then what are you left with? Nothing and that's what I give it - nothing.
-
Sep 2, 2022One of the worst adaptations ever! Wasted money! Slow scenes, no Tolkien vibes at all! And some crazy dialogues that doesn’t have sense.
-
Sep 2, 2022that's a disaster, I can't believe the people really can watch this........
-
Sep 2, 2022why was this made? 1 is just for the visuals but this is so bad on every other terms!

Sep 2, 2022Atrocious. Insulting. Grotesque. There aren't enough adjectives to describe just how disgusting Amazon's cheesy fanfiction is. This has nothing to do with anything Tolkien wrote (very much the opposite) and everything to do with modern ideological hatred of classical, transcendent beauty and values. "Evil cannot create, it can only corrupt what Good has made".
-
Sep 2, 2022it's badly acted, the dialogues are bland as **** the casting is bad, the music is bad, I still don't know what the plot is about, everything is all over the place, everything feels very restricted.

Adar’s début drips with signifiers. ... When Adar informs Arondir in Episode 4 that he has been told many lies, some that “run so deep even the rocks and roads now believe them,” it is still a thrill. Tolkien succeeded in creating a mythic world, one that has now grown vast enough through acts of typological repetition and imitation to conquer television, too.

With war brewing and the forging of the rings seemingly still far off, the first half of The Rings of Power’s first season constitutes little more than stage-setting for the struggle to come. Given the lack of quests and central commanding figures, it often makes for less-than-gripping drama. However, given that there are four more seasons already planned, and potentially dozens of new characters to be introduced, the slow and throat-clearing build is possibly a good sign.

The Rings of Power is a reminder of what drew many of us to epic fantasy in the first place: wonder. ... This series set in an ancient realm displays one dazzling and painterly landscape after another. Power also doesn't skimp on action. [12 - 25 Sep 2022, p.10]
