The show is absolutely amazing. It’s visually stunning, a trully cinematic experience with very good actors and characters beautifully developed in a plot that promises great things. All the magic and essence of Tolkien is there. A milestone in television. For sure it will be one of the most watched shows of the year and a front runner for the awards season.

Im in love with the dwarfs. The hate is not fair.

The series is entertaining, the look is a little too slick for my taste. (-2P)
The story seems OK, deviating from the lore here and there, but that was to be expected. (-1P)
I find the whole negative vibe a pity. It feels like people are going in with an expectation that is Utopian, remember the Hobbit is in itself very weak filmed.

Amazing production value and imaginative set pieces make this the most engaging thing on TV right now. Much better than the new Game of Thrones series!

I like the show. It takes some stuff from the Simarilion and tries to create a new story. The production value is excellent I'm looking forward to new episodes.

The first couple episodes are laying the ground work for what is certainly going to be an epic adventure that captures the spirit of Tolkien. I enjoyed this rendition of Galadriel. She may seem angry and snappy at times but there are good reasons for her behavior. Every actor did an excellent job here. This is well worth watching and I can't wait to see the rest of the season. Wow, they weren't kidding about the review bombing. I love everything about this show. Forget the babies in the comments who live off of hate. This is 100% worth your time if you loved the books.

This show so far is quality and brimming with the LOTR energy while being it’s own thing. Really fun watch so far, so excited to see where it goes.

Do not trust stupid Tolkien purists. The show is well made and the story seems to be great on their own way.

Visually impressive and reminds stylistically more hobbit trilogy(super clean world) than lotr(more grounded), right now story seems simple - evil is still lurking etc. Pacing really fast jumps around constantly. Looks promising tho. Liked more than houseOfBoring.

Update after the end of season 1: Yes, the review bombing and hatred directed towards the show is absurd and exaggerated. But after the conclusion, much of the criticism is justified. Maybe not the vitriol, but the show isn't well-written, the narrative not compelling, the characters, mostly bland and unsypathetic.

As beautiful as it is, and as well-produced it may be...the core

As beautiful as it is, and as well-produced it may be...the core narrative and characters are boring. The few highlights of the show are often butchered with poor editing, leaving the audience confused.

At the end of the day, it's just "not good" and "fine" at best.

Don't listen to haters and prejudice people that haven't even watch it or at least not with open mind that it can actually be good.
Because that's what is it, it's really good. Amazing high budget scenes, perfect music scores. It's just a feast to immerse yourself in

I was genuinly surprised by the first episode of RoP. They set the overall mood right and the cast/ acting is very good i.m.o. The music also feel very LotR like. Im very excited to see the rest of this series.

This show feels like original LOTR movie trilogy but in a modern way as for 2022 should be. It has everything needed: plot as supposed, many threads, fantastic music, terrific CGI, amazing views and beautiful heros. Cant wait next episodes! Ignore all those pathetic haters and racists opinions! Very recommended must see!!!

Amazing fan fiction and fine return to Middle-Earth
I read all Tolkien Books and watched Jackson’s films (by the way, I think they are no less fanfics than The Rings of Power) and I enjoyed them as much as enjoy this series

Seriously? It is MUCH better than what I expected. Crybabies are gonna cry like the babies they are, complaining about "wokeness" and whatever, but the fact is that the original material Tolkien wrote decades ago was already pretty loose and not very well defined and the dialogue and plot of the series fill the gaps appropriately. Brilliant start to the season for The Rings of Power. Lush, transcendent visuals with particularly compelling performances from Morfydd Clark (Galadriel), Ismael Cruz Córdova (Arondir) and Markella Kavenagh (Nori).

Adar’s début drips with signifiers. ... When Adar informs Arondir in Episode 4 that he has been told many lies, some that “run so deep even the rocks and roads now believe them,” it is still a thrill. Tolkien succeeded in creating a mythic world, one that has now grown vast enough through acts of typological repetition and imitation to conquer television, too.

With war brewing and the forging of the rings seemingly still far off, the first half of The Rings of Power’s first season constitutes little more than stage-setting for the struggle to come. Given the lack of quests and central commanding figures, it often makes for less-than-gripping drama. However, given that there are four more seasons already planned, and potentially dozens of new characters to be introduced, the slow and throat-clearing build is possibly a good sign.

The Rings of Power is a reminder of what drew many of us to epic fantasy in the first place: wonder. ... This series set in an ancient realm displays one dazzling and painterly landscape after another. Power also doesn't skimp on action. [12 - 25 Sep 2022, p.10]
